  1. Add a lamp in psychology. It's too dark when the windows are tinted.
  2. Please revise your dismissal, I have opened a new pull request that deals exactly with this issue.
  3. Aurora is criminally underprepared for fires. Elevators are sub-optimal in case of fire. Lets fix it! Make ladders a viable option for everyone to use. Approach #1: Replace one of the elevators with stairs Approach #2: Give everyone access to existing ladder (Pull Request) Approach #3: Add fire ladders in a central position (Pull Request) Which approach should we take?
  4. Typhoon outbreak, anyone?
  5. It's all sorts of messed up on my phone running a recent version of Chrome. It might be possible by embedding or injecting and overriding CSS that changes the layout under a certain window width.
  6. Following the successful merge of the espresso system and alternative 'Barista' title for the bartender, It's a natural progression to add more recipes. There are various espresso mixes in the game (see wiki). Lets add some Soy based drinks in addition to milk based! Bonus round: Give the new drinks a Skrell theme (please vote yay or nay).
  7. I think that one way to solve this is to reduce the effectiveness of medicine the more medicine someone has in them. So you won't make a "triage pill" that fixes all damage types, because then it would be super ineffective. Would still make you consider "Do I inject him with this as well, or not?".
  8. Make a list of required changes and I'll uodate the wiki. I'm clueless about genetics myself.
  9. Perhaps the issue is that the ling is too sandboxy & free-form? If you give them an IC purpose (succ the HoP!) that they have to work towards, it may limit the ammount of succed bystanders "just because they can". They can succ people to work their way towards the target, but the goal becomes the target, not the succing. Also creates an incentive to be discreet, adding to the rounds paranoia. Also, IMHO all ling rounds should be solo ling. It will help the antag craft a cohesive conflict, as opposed to the current whackamole. A completely different idea for ling: Instead of killing the succed taking them out of the round, add them as the lings imaginary friend. 1. The ling now absorbs the memory of the succed (converse with the imaginary friends). 2. The victims are not taken out of the round, and are given a unique way to interact and roleplay with the antagonist.
  10. Something like that was already suggested. Here are links: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=10300&p=92151#p92151 https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=10301&p=92152#p92152 There's a good reason to keep some nitrogen in the engine room, and that is emergency cooling. Nitrogen is traditionally used for that.
  11. Was it the same round I pitched the idea of S.T.A.L.K.E.R themed cult, or a different one? If it's the former then I may be able to contribute.
  12. I rofled. I think it's a cute idea, but the limited roleplay benefits this would give can be easily achieved with existing game mechanics. What's the benefit of adding new ones specifically for this?
  13. IMHO it's a good idea + a adds flavour and immersion. Also should be trivial to implement, so I see no reason not to do it.
  14. Chefs can already make pet-food-like things in the cereal maker. IMHO it's a policy issue. Heads of staff simply don't care.
  15. Sounds good. Draw the new art and people can make a pull request.
  16. Whoops, missed that one. Processing...
  17. Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account:Climax708 Character Name(s):Yisheng-6, Jishi-8, SSF-840, and a few more you're unlikely to have met or remembered AI Name(s):Shepherd Discord username + tag: Climax708#4846 Age:22 Timezone:GMT+2 When are you on Aurora?:Evenings. Increased intensity in weekends. Experience How long have you played SS13?:A bit over a year How long have you played on Aurora:About 8 months How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?:All the SS13 I played are Baystation builds. I'm competent in medical & engineering. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?:No. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?:Never. Personality Why do you play SS13?:Fun. I enjoy the group dynamics, and the emergent stories. Why do you play on Aurora?:Sizeable community, solid moderation team, great code base. What do moderators do?:Police. Enforce the rules, keep the game fun, mediate, welcome new players, and generally be helpful. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?:Fancy color in the chat. Oh, also you get to give back to this wonderful community. Why do you want to be a moderator?:Philanthropy. Also, contribute to a community I belong to, especially during "dead hours". What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: Game mechanics competence Growth mindset Care for the community Some previous experience Communication skills How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?:I like stress. It's fun. Angry people tend to be irrational, so I give them some time to cool off before engaging in rational conversation. I don't care about insults coming from internet strangers. Anything Else You Want to Add: Words words words. I'm a software developer professionally, and I'm comfortable diving in to the code (if someone queries about a game mechanic for instance). I have a certain curiousity regarding management work, and I'm hoping to hone some soft skills by being a moderator. Those who know me describe me as cold and detached, which is possibly a good thing for someone who should be sort-of judge. I made some minor contributions to the code, and I am currently a wiki maintainer. (Shows some seriousness & dedication to the community) When I was 12 years old I used to run my own server in a game called Rune: Halls of Valhalla. It was fun. (that's where I developed a love for coding) I used to moderate in a high roleplaying server in San Andreas : Multiplayer. Talk with me about it, it's a funny story. I used to be in a military, so I'm comfortable with structure and chain of command.
  18. Ah yes, when I play surgeon and engineering forgets to set up the super matter, I raid the library for their lamps. Atm it's an ick RP reason, but it would be nice for it to be reinforced mechanically.
  19. Problem is, overpressurization is a bit rare. If air gets toxic after 150kpa (toxin damage) then just use internals (problem solved). Meh. I'm not sure, but maybe overpressurization should just gib a person?
  20. I've opened a Pull Request
  21. Thanks. I've added them to the wiki. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Guide_to_Character_Records
  22. Looks like the code already has some coffee varieties: https://github.com/Synnono/Aurora.3/blob/092e35d34c08e4d4df5d7a6a9e1d373d501fdd93/code/modules/reagents/Chemistry-Reagents/Chemistry-Reagents-Food-Drinks.dm#L2571
  23. fear of robots? Oh, I didn't know that. And I play mainly IPCs. I play Yisheng-6, and I know the prescription Hendricks has by heart (making sure to nag the chemist to fulfill it). I sometimes play SSF-840, the chef, who gets to interact with Hendricks way more often. I've experienced a certain grudge, but didn't realize it's because of a fear of robots. I thought it's because Hendricks doesn't like to work, and the chef needs her to grow veggies. The reason could have been made more obvious. Otherwise, it's a memorable character (which means you're definitely doing it right).
  24. I don't understand how this sprite says "Look at me I'm not a tool!"
