Making the AI Core Less of a Laughing Stock

Back door was added because of mapping standards. Generally no where else but the vault has a wire that goes through walls. -

The improvement here is not that the AI core is more secure but it is better for gameplay, hence my use of the word "unbalanced" in the OP. 99 out of 100 MALF rounds that involve the crew going in to try and defeat the MALF are usually done via emitters or backdoor cheesing. They are never done with full on frontal assaults because the AI has an excessive amount of bolted high security doors, shields, turrets, not to mention their ability to detonate APCs, killing the group inside it.. -

The back door is bolted closed. Any attempt to bash it would just lock the bolts down. -
MALFs can manually reset borgs at their whim if they unlock a certain ability. It forces the cyborg to unset their module and pick a new one, which is problematic when you're actually trying to do something. I also recall that I received a note as a cyborg for releasing gold slime xenobio entities in departures because it was a little too excessive to have at departures. This was kept in mind as well as the major warning I received from you when I detonated an APC in departures, killing several people, with escalation of this level.

In many cases it isn't. Average case scenario they'd be caught in another room. I've actually done AI rounds with antags where I intentionally set a 60 second timer to the moment where I spot an antag to report and deal with it. In about 70% of cases they'd be in the same spot or doing the same thing.

Making the AI Core Less of a Laughing Stock

I could add open turf if others are fine with this. I was going to add it initially, but I felt that it wouldn't make sense in an asteroid and would make it feel less secure. -
Here are the orders I followed: - Cut the Tesla: I did this. I cut the output wire to the tesla so that it generates power, but does not distribute this. The wire I cut was at 51, 173, on the sublevel. - Sabotage the Supermatter: I did this. I pulsed a specific wire on the SMES to cause it to randomly detonate APCs on the station (0 explosion range). I ended up fixing this later in the round when I noticed that the red dock was also destroyed because of this, and did not want to create a situation that annoyed the crew and interfered with my gimmick of creating my airlock maze that players had to get through. - Prevent them from leaving. I partially followed this as I created a million airlocks in departures to lighten the mood and also somewhat follow this. You actually used this because I noticed that several doors and airlocks were bolted and players reported that some were shocked. The first time you gave me this order, I was in a position not to do so because I was on another level, trying to find the fallen borg near the blue dock. I thought I saw their light, but it was just the light from security. I could not go back up because the jetpack doesn't work that way for some reason. Here are the orders I did not follow: - Kill xyz: I saw no justification for this. I saw 0 motivation to do this. People, especially engineers, were absolutely upset that all this was happening in looc to the point where some cryo'd. Many people were unhappy about the round, which is why I didn't want to make it worse for people. The reason why I did not follow the kill orders: - I did not see any roleplay from you towards the crew. - You had no gimmick or reason or cause or any motivation. - You stealth malf'd for an hour and thirty minutes. - I did not feel comfortable murdering the crew given that I had absolutely no motive to do so other than "The AI told me so." - I was not comfortable with murderboning with 0 admins online. - I was not comfortable without permission from an admin. - You were actively hostile towards me, constantly giving me resets without my permission while I was doing things to progress the round. At one point you reset me in a location where I could not unstick myself as a non-engineer without any warning or my permission. You also constantly reset me while I was placing a borg converting machine. I told you to stop resetting me, and to give me 60 seconds, but you kept resetting me. About the red dock venting: I intentionally closed the red dock after it was done venting not to spite the AI, but as a 1000 IQ move that ended up saving me and another borg in the end. I let a little air back inside the red dock as insurance, and that insurance paid off. I do not know the security member, but because of the space wind of me vending the red dock again, I managed to knock down a security officer and cause them to flee, and also secured an ion rifle in the process.

Round ID: b4n-a07t BYOND Key: BurgerBB Accused Players Byond Key: MALF AI of the Round (YANDERE) Time of Act: December 20th, 2019 1:10AM PST Reason for Ban: Ordered borgs to murderbone the crew without escalation. Ordered borgs to constantly sabotage power without escalation. Stealth MALF'd the entire round until they got full power. Had literally 0 gimmick in mind for the 1 hour and 30 minutes until they wanted to show a force of power. Constantly sent reset requests to borgs who weren't combat modules and murderboning crew despite the borg in question (See: me) telling them to royally fuck off. Literally bolted closed departures, vented it, and threw a fit when people were leaving. Can't be bothered to write a full complaint because I want to go to bed and the admin didn't want to handle the ticket because they were an IPC who got infected so here it is. Check the logs for it and SonicGotNuked's word for it as a player. Here is their attitude/behavior in a nutshell.

Like finding players isn't the fucking problem at all. Like just sit down and think about this. I'm an AI player and my immediate reaction to counter this is to just find an antag to track and stick with tracking them because I cannot spend my attention elsewhere finding other people who need help because that is wasting 20 seconds of my time trying to find them.
-
I don't like this as an AI player. Not because I can't hunt antags, but rather because I can't keep track of players who need assistance. I would have to manually find their location using the shitty AI controls and performance issues which I do not want at all because that takes an excessive amount of time and is absolutely torture. I'm just going to get yelled at by players who I can't find fast enough. This is not a good PR and does not address the problem of AI.

Additional turrets, I feel, are not needed. If in the case that they are, then they will be added. -

I rather just answer questions. -

Then I will make it so RCD cannot remove vault doors. -
Aka improved AI core design. I felt the old was extremely unbalanced due to annoyances and a conflict of mapping standards. PR will be up after enough feedback.

I'm so fucking sick of this gamemode. Every single malf round is just the AI stealth malfing to total APC takeover and then nuking the station because no one ever selects malf AI because they have a gimmick. Once they go loud they fucking lock down the bridge and their core, venting all the air, cutting non-essential power, blowing up the fucking armory, and setting turrets to lethal. They follow a fucking checklist of things to maximize them "winning" the round when winning doesn't even fucking matter. It is 100% impossible to assault the core at this point. It's powergaming at it's finest but it's not against the rules to powergame as antag and if you complain you're just a big unrobust baby. I ahelp this shit. Every single fucking time even though I know the response. Every single response I get is either "there is nothing wrong with protecting the core" or "antags can't powergame". I would agree if with that if crewmembers weren't allowed to powergame. Everyone fucking knew it was malf, especially engineering who saw the additional CPU cores installed. But no one can accuse the AI because A: That makes them valid as shit and subjected to extremely explosive APC detonations, B: they are laughed at by the crew because that's what everyone does when people metagame, and C you'll 100% get a ban like most people have done in the past. We have to sit there and take the AI's bullshit until they claim that they're rogue or there is absolute undeniable proof that they're rogue. This shit happens every other malf round but we're somehow here going "b-b-b-b-b-but I had a good malf gimmick back in April of 2018!" Like it's absolute fucking meme every single round this happens. You have designed a server where the antags get all the power and if that power is questioned you get a ban at worst or you get killed at best because antags are given extremely powerful abilities. They're given these extremely powerful abilities because most antag players are extremely unrobust and get killed by security veterans. None of this is fair to players who are here to roleplay on a roleplay server

Probably just the default unathi face or something. Or if you're feeling adventurous, just go look up vore on a furry porn site.

This is not something I want to look at every time I need to use an ability.

Character Complaint - Zeiluhak Ruu, Rzuo Iszak
BurgerBB replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
As I said before, wiring the solars was not my issue. The matter with OOC punishment is resolved anyways because the admins feel that this is all ICly. -

I'm sorry that I come off that way. I don't hate you at all, you were the lesser evil in this situation. Honestly you were innocent context in this situation where I had to explain that there was a communication issue before and that it was brought up to you and others, and it happened again. I just want you and jackboot to come off thinking "Hey there are other players playing and would appreciate it if you didn't do this sort of thing where you act unreasonable at other people's expense." -

Yeah I'm asking for OOC punishment about the blob stuff, then IC punishment with the solars stuff. This isn't about you setting up solars. This is about not being communicative when you suffered an injury and didn't ask for any sort of assistance or help, causing unnecessary prep and worry.
