  1. I'm not specifically calling out you, I'm calling out the blob stuff.
  2. I mean, I'm not sure how valid that one would be because you only just learned that I shut off the SMES through this player complaint (OOC) because you weren't paying attention to me when i said it.
  3. The ruling admin said that they "determined most of the behavior was and should remain in the realm of the IC part of things" so I am using IC methods of dealing with it.
  4. Daily reminder that we still have the Adolf Hitler moustache and hairstyle still in code.

  5. Yes, I'm telling you that this is a non issue. I'm giving you other things that are significantly worse than that.
  6. Necropolis Industries being nazis was never a thought in my head until this was made. Even with all the things presented in this thread, it is an extremely far stretch. I don't mean to attack criticism with criticism but the entirety of the Tajara lore is about extremely oppressive communist or fascist regimes that blacklist homosexuals and "degeneracy" that idolize communist and fascist aesthetics that some of the players disturbingly embrace. You even have a subspecies of tajara that believe that they are the superior race and frequently practice inbreeding to keep the bloodline pure. That is a bigger issue than khaki uniforms.

  8. Were there any warnings or anything applied or are they going without punishment? I don't want this sort of shit to happen again.
  9. If this is acceptable behavior for Unathi then it seems like unathi behavior needs to change into something that isn't a meme that NanoTrasen 100% would not hire.
  10. Here is what is wrong with the gamemode: The antagonist's MECHANICAL goal is to obtain genomes. You can obtain genomes in the following way: - Ganking someone and absorbing them, putting them out of the round until they are cloned. - Stinging someone, which gives them noticeable clone damage. Here is what usually happens: - Pre discovery: A ling ganks without any roleplay. The most roleplay they use is: "Hey can you come help me in maintenance, there is a dude stuck." and then they mute/sleep/whatever sting you, then absorb you. - Pre discovery: A ling spends half the round going around, randomly stinging people for powers. They then turn into beast mode and it becomes a typical security chace. - Post discovery: Security validhunts the antags with the intent of killing/capturing them as they are non-human and a containment threat. Changeling is inherently shit because of the methods to gain genomes and the fact that they're monsters. In order to fix changeling, you have to make a completely different gamemode. Someone did this a long time ago and it was vampire. Vampire was 100% meant as a replacement to ling but for some reason we like to fill Aurora with outdated gamemodes just because people are afraid that if we have no content, we have no players. Do you know what loses players? Shitty gamemodes. Yesterday we had cult+vamp two rounds in a row and the playercount skyrocketed, moreso than normal.
  11. I was pinged here but I don't know where. I read the complaint, but I can't be bothered to read the paragraph post in full they made because I rather use my own words. They published the PR after contacting me and making some tweaks. They posted it when the thread had a general positive attitude by community members, except for a comment that was deleted by staff that was basically "lol deal with it" When the PR was made there was a massive wave of negative criticism about the suggestion. It wasn't them seeing the negative criticism and going "fuck it I'll make it anyways" If you read carefully, my suggestion was to just remove the explosion from it outright, while drago is a moderate "it can still explode,. it's just more realistic." which is pretty different from me just telling it to delete the explosion.
  12. You said that engineering was weak and atmospherics was strong when I said that you had an excessive atmos design that was causing power issues. I told you clearly that you needed to limit it to 75,000 watts because I was setting the SMES to that. I recall telling you that and you ignored me and proceeded to berate me some more. You did this twice in the round again when you got hurt both times and caused issues for medical, security, and me. On both occasions I tried finding you on both occasions, but you refused to accept help and you ended up dying for it on an extended round. You are then going in this thread and doing the following: 1. Slandering me by claiming that my complaints about you refusing to communicate is just me complaining that you didn't listen to me. This isn't about listening to me but rather not giving a shit about anyone but yourself. 2. Calling me a hypocrite because you claimed I never communicated you the issue of the SMES when I actually did. 3. Refusing to admit maybe that you fucked up somewhere. Your entire attitude can be summed up on the incident with the borg: The borg accidentally vented the area. It caused a gust of pressure to come in and knock me towards the elevator, where a blob got a few chunks out of me. While I was still injured, you or your friend rudely gave it an excessive amount of shit and practically told it to fuck off unless needed, while I was injured. I never gave the borg any shit and felt extremely guilty for him. I regret not having stepped in and telling the borg to stay but I knew that would cause further problems, and refrained from doing so. It eventually caused further problems because the borg was not with us when you two decided to go off and try to kill the blob, and died in the process. A medical borg is EXTREMELY useful when trying to fight a blob like this and they were trying their best to help. I bet you all the money in the world that if it wasn't for my constant whining over comms about how you two were stuck, no one would have rescued you. As you said, both of you were too proud to call for help and when you did, you demanded that a borg open the command bunker without fully explaining the situation. I had to convince the borg to actually assist you two because you told it to fuck off earlier. I should've learned from the previous incidents but I didn't.
  13. Honestly make a poll. Both sides are saying "most people like malf" or "most people hate malf".
  14. I literally was the one who coded in fuel tanks leaking their fuel when shot. I was the one who made it a part of the game, and now I'm saying it isn't a good idea and seeing if people agree. I'm pretty sure my opinion carries some weight here.
  15. You'd actually have more of a job to do since the hot air wouldn't be vented and remain on station, and you'd have to actually put out the fires. This suggestion would give engineers less to do but atmos techs more to do.
  16. They're annoying to cleanup and repair because they don't actually ignite the fuel and even when they do, there is still some leftover. Also with the bug that is asteroid turf venting, they can vent several hallways with their explosion.
  17. I'm going to say it. Unathi players excessively exploit their species lore to validhunt; moreso than any other species.

when roostercat said "I don't see unathi do this very often" I saw a non-antag unathi kill another non-antag unathi with a fireaxe.

  18. I suppose that changes things, but very little. It does not explain why they decided to communicate very little with everyone or behave the way they did.
  19. Nearly every other round there is always an antag who makes it their gimmick to make fueltank bombs, or when being chased by security, they detonate fuel tanks by shooting it once. This is excessively annoying for security and engineering, and the fuel tank explosion itself is not realistic behavior. In reality, shooting a fuel tank will not make it explode. The most that would happen would be a fireball, even if the fuel tank was oxygenated to allow use in space, but if the fuel was this oxygenated then it wouldn't work in environments with air, so the only realistic explanation here is that the welder has its own oxygen supply The behavior that should happen with everything considered is that the fuel tank bursts and sprays ignited fuel everywhere. I made a PR a long time ago to do this behavior, but I did not remove the explosive element because of babysteps. Given that it's been 6+ months since that PR, and the resulting annoyance from security, medical, and engineering, I think it's time to remove the explosion it causes.
  20. Like I don't mean to be an asshole, but none of the arguments I've really seen in support of keeping malf are satisfactory. "Removing game modes because they don't meet roleplay standards is a slippery slope into removing other gamemodes!" Slippery slope is not an argument. It's a fallacy in most cases. Saying that we shouldn't remove a bad feature because other features might be removed in the future is strange. "Some MALF rounds can be good!" No one is arguing that all MALF rounds are bad but rather that there is a good majority of malf rounds that are bad to the point where when compared to other game modes, they're significantly worse than normal. I've have participated in good MALF rounds and recognize that it has potential, but the gamemode existing does more harm than good. "Remove don't improve." (or some variation) No contributor or developer wants to improve the gamemode. No one is willing to learn how to code to improve the gamemode. You're expecting something to happen that does not usually happen with gamemodes. Removing MALF from secret rotation will not stop someone from improving the game anyways so there is no point in saying this argument really.
  21. I think you're seriously over exaggerating the situation. Atmos had a ton of air in the distro pipes; enough to fill several hallways. Waste was completely empty and already has a super high volume count and the rolling power would've been enough to clear out any waste in the waste pipes. If anything bad went wrong with atmos, nothing would've changed. This isn't me telling you how to manage atmos, this is me telling you to actually communicate to your coworkers about power management. If your response is "Engineering weak, atmos strong!" to my concerns about how your department is using an excessive amount of power then I'm going to limit the power until you turn off all the pipes that you don't need on. I can't take your "don't try to micromanage how I do atmospherics" statement that seriously because you are literally doing the same thing by telling me to increase power to atmos when it doesn't need it. Just to be entirely clear this isn't me saying "delete your character", this is holding you and your friend accountable for your actions. You both did something extremely stupid that affected more than yourselves while both being excessively unhelpful to the rest of the crew about your situation. None of this should've been acceptable for two certified atmos techs to do, especially on an extended round. I wouldn't completely ignored all the stupid things you and your friend did if you were actually communicating with people about the things you did that affected other people.
  22. I limited it to 50,000W and told them to disable the excessive pipes because it was draining an excessive amount of power. It was practically disabled because the APC kept going on and off. I would've turned it back on if anything occurred. There was plenty of air already in distro. Siphoning and filling rooms with air wouldn't be affected unless there was a station wide plasma leak. Atmospherics was a department that was draining the most power out of any other department because of a meme atmos setup that used 6 high volume pumps that were always active and always draining power. When questioned about it, you proceeded to ignore the concerns and shitpost. I tried to work with you, but didn't. I reduced the power to atmos because I didn't want a possible power outage issue. I think what I did was justified because you weren't communicating at all to me and were off doing stupid thing without telling anyone.

Blob spawned right here. There was no feasible way to attack it. The only wires that we could use were super inaccessible because the Captain decided to space themselves using a teleporter neat a bluespace inhibitor.
