  1. I think watching this character try and 'whip' our allegedly terrible security into shape would be a very amusing spectacle that could create some very interesting roleplay scenarios that would diverge from most head of security situations. It is only unfortunate that it would be a very shortlived experience. +1 (These mean something, right?)
  2. In my experience ERT has been underpowered. As Brage said you get advance notice, they often are understaffed (Most ERT teams I see consist of 1-3 people) and they arrive at the same point every time. And the Admin armoury is for all intents and purposes an OoC convenience. It's behind the curtain. Most of the Odin is behind the curtain stuff, and removing these infrastructures would only damage things like special events that involve the Odin.
  3. Security already has two methods of locking down the brig. Blast doors and portable barricades. The maglocks are designed for more tactical applications in the field.
  4. This application has some real moxie. I like it.
  5. It seems only fair that someone involved with the Vaurcae development should see some of its fruit. I imagine that along the route of creating for them Rechkalov has gleaned a fair bit of what it takes to be one.
  6. I would never take such a serious thing as a laughing matter. I don't even know how applying for a legitimate race could be a laughing matter.
  7. Heads of Staff should be communicating with Central Command anyways. In fact, Heads of Staff frequently communicate with Central Command, ignoring the Internal Affairs Representative. The IAA to me does nothing that a good head of staff doesn't do already.
  8. If its an alternate title we might as well go the full mile and make it a new occupation entirely. . .which brings us to the first issue raised.

    Command Alt-titles

I'm much in line with what the current psychology on alternate titles is. That being that if the title is alternated so should there be a significantly noticeable gameplay alternate. The alternate title for cyborgs all indicate a different processor. The alternate title for forensic technician gives a different starting loadout. The alternate title for geneticist indicates their focus. It is my belief that we should continue this trend, further segregating and distinguishing the alternate titles already present. Alternate titles for aesthetics alone strikes me as singularly useless.
  10. I think this is actually an improvement. The role of IAA being the station's corporate overseer was always miscarried because that's also technically the role of the Captain and pretty much every Head of Staff. And if we give the IAA full access to the command channel and bridge, then they just become 'another employee crowding the bridge'. The HoP is perfectly capable of handling complaints, and technically are still kinda obliged to (You'd be surprised the number of crew who come to the HoP with complaints even when there is an IAA aboard.) On the other hand, there is no one in security who is obliged maintain corporate loyalty within imprisoned employees. Repurposing the IAA to this role would be an improvement and would solve the pressing need for employee representation in security, and would also tone done the elitism that is prevalent in security towards the imprisoned.
  11. Why do you think doors are harder to crack? They're made out of the same material, and in fact probably have less material in them. All you would ostensibly need to do to open the door is to sever the mechanism that keeps it closed. Finally, if its based out of some miscarried sense of balance, you're forgetting one thing. If you make doors harder to cut through than walls or windows, then people will just cut through the wall that is right next to every single door on the station.
  12. I don't know why a door would be a longer cooldown. It's not nearly as strong as a wall. But doors should definitely be an option, Darth Vader style. Furthermore, cutting down impassable furniture, especially overturned tables should be included.
  13. That problem applies to ALL suggestions. Since it is a universal constant we'll just have to ignore it and suggest like the world was a perfect loving place.
  14. I don't see why needing mapping is an issue. I don't agree with making additional clothes cost points.
  15. A large wardrobe is not needed. Chameleon clothes can fit in a box. (And in fact come in a box as a map item)
  16. I don't think different avenues of roleplay should cost points. Aesthetic items like clothing should be totally free. If you insist on adding functionality gear such as laser rifles or telescopic batons, then they should be listed independently. I made a suggestion some time ago that was basically just to give a chameleon set to wizards modified to let the wizard cast spells in it. It solves the problem of Wizards having limited stylistic choice by giving them unlimited stylistic choice. Style should've have a cost. Giving wizards laser rifles or batons is a funny idea, but if we're adding more spells to the wizard catalog, then we'll need to rebalance the number of points available to the wizard.

    remove wizard.

In short, No. In longer form, Absolutely not.
  18. This is more important than lore, which nobody ever reads anyways.
  19. That would glorify the character over the server, and we must reinforce especially now in these times the fact that our characters are meaningless worms compared to the glorious LORE. Dangerous thoughts such as yours Demon will only accelerate us towards the dark days, the Lesbays.
  20. Exactly. It has no real standing except to the poster themself, so I see no reason why we should revoke the right to like in off-topic.

    Merc "Op" Voting

Alternatively, any single vote for clown marines automatically forces all other ops to vote for clown marines. But we would need some supplementary lore for why the traditionally isolationist clown planets is now deploying 'covert' *wink* operatives.
  22. Since likes on a post do not contribute whatsoever to a posts relevancy (eg there is no prevalent listing for it) I see no reason why it should be arbitrarily revoked.
  23. Even so, the idea that a shoe that fits a human would comfortably fit any other species is the main issue I bring up, especially when you consider the fact that humans and Tajara are the only species that are actually mammals in this universe.
  24. Do we really need a third/fourth (If you count Vox) species that shuns 99% of footwear? Technically, it makes sense. Shoes are a purely human invention. It doesn't make sense that it would be universally applicable, although we do currently run on the 'ever race is just a reskinned human'.
  25. I never considered exosuits big enough to fit more than one person, although I suppose the Odysseus stomps all over that idea (especially considering it is the smallest mech)
