Trust me, people will do so. There are already dress-codes designed to prevent engineers and security from wearing skirts and other frivolous apparel. That however is a player consideration, not a suggestion-orientated consideration.

Cardboard boxes work well, or some other box-like container. Designating specific map-space for this inane item isn't really an efficient use of map. It'd bloat each room by at least one tile if its a machine, and adding cabinets and racks for your special mugs and 142 herbs and spices will just make the situation worse.

It is a powerful, robust, and interesting game mechanic that can be applied in many diverse and tactical ways and is not limited like most other combat tactics because it does not actually apply damage, but provide opportunity to apply damage. In short, its removal would be detrimental to the cult meta, and the burden lay upon anti-cult to find ways to circumvent or otherwise nullify the invisible walls.

1; The same argument can be made for literally any race, including humans if the company didn't happen to be humanrun. 2; The same argument can be made for literally every role. If Vaurca are banned from the security role for the reasons posited, the natural conclusion is that they should be banned from every role except some civilian roles.

Any lawbase that is based off of Asimov's laws of robotics is flawed to a sufficient degree that it really isn't suitable for the default lawset. Our current default lawset, NT Corporate, fits that role well. This as an auxiliary lawset is a wholly different matter, however.

Unbound Vaurca are as smart as people. You will note that Bound Vaurca are barred from security, while Unbound Vaurca are not, as the wiki and myself stated.
-
Another quote from the wiki, highlighting the fact that Unbound Vaurca can A: Be security, and B: Be Warriors (Type BA). Whether Warriors can be Unbound and thus be security in the first place is not the operative question here. What is is whether they should stay that way.

Openning cryo bags is an act that has deep cultural significance. Putting mechanics into effect that would impede the natural right of any staff assistant to waltz up to a cryo bag and open it would be a deep moral crime. On a further note, cryo bags already are a bit unrealistic amount of machinery packed into a neatly foldable and easily stored bag. Adding an ID slot and biometric scans on top of it makes it even more questionable. The purpose of a cryo bag is clear. Get patient from point A to point B without their situation deteriorating. A patient shouldn't be in storage long enough for you to forget how fucked up they are, and you shouldn't abandon the patient to another doctor/the incinerator without expecting consequence if you forget to relay relevant information.

Following that path of logic, they should also be banned from all science roles which are at the very forefront of NanoTrasen's secure assets. Might as well remove them from engineering, because we can't entrust them with the integrity of a station if we can't trust them with its security. Medical is a no-brainer. Why would we ever trust a dirty bug to go digging around in our anatomy? They might bite us while we're under anesthesia. They of course can't be janitors, because they might just abuse the power of jan-fu and slip people. And then bite them. Chef and Bartender is def a negative. Buggy grubby bug hands in our beer and sandwiches? No thank you! Plus, they'd just bite the drunks. Cargo is also a no-go. They might just order monkeys. For biting. Plus, they'd have free access to the secrets of NanoTrasen postal codes, which are closely guarded secrets. That leaves just librarian, Chaplain, staff assistant, and of course Internal Affairs Agent.

Because Vaurca can bite is not necessarily justification to ban. Any Vaurca can bite, not just officers. Vaurca being removed from security roles because they are new follows the logic that Vaurca should be banned from pretty much every role, because they are just a year discovered, particularly since security is the least critical of the critical roles, lore wise. However, currently the server follows the ideology that just because a universal ban makes sense lorewise, it doesn't happen except in case of Head roles. If we want to start banning races from non-Head roles then I can think up plenty of justification that ultimately would mean humans are the only race to play any non-civilian role. Ultimately, I don't tend to support such restrictions, even though they are easily justifiable. And to reiterate, Vaurca being able to bite is not justification to ban them from security. That should be handled on a case by case basis.

I was considering going to the glasses next, but an important consideration is that MedicHUDs are blue too (Although a different hue of blue than I'd use). I would make MedicHUDs green (Which is Medical's colour anyways). Cadet uniforms have already been worked on, as well as hardsuits.

If you're referring to the yellow dot 'taser' I decided it worked best only on the red and removed it myself on the download, but didn't consider it important a revision to imagograph. I agree. The contrast and general ambiance of ss13 is supported by the "raspberry" colour scheme better than the "emo blue" colour scheme.

I still think the 2x burn damage weakness is absurdly excessive. Welding torches are almost about as good as swords against them. That should be a red flag.

While I disagree with the sentiment (and indeed maintain that the additional vibrancy adds much needed distinction), I have created a more drab and sombre version for you to compare. Enjoy your muted, dead tones, I suppose.

A long time ago, in the forgotten month of June in the bygone year of 2015, when the Great Bluesec Conversion was set into stone and immortalized, many rejoiced. Yet here we stand in the month of January in the year 2016 anno domini, and the prophesied conversion is yet only half finished. As there has been discussion about recolouring security hardsuits, I decided that it might be thoughtful also to recolour security cyborgs (As the actual announcement thread for Bluesec had promised, but never implemented.) Presto; Changes will probably need to be made to the sprite selection screen. In particular, the name 'Red Knight' is misleading, and 'Bloodhound' isn't really appropriate since its no longer red. The robots.dmi file. Instances of importance are 'Bloodhound', 'Security', and 'securityrobot'. Version 1; Version 2;

I say don't bother with any VR consideration. Just make it so you have to order a new Vaurca shell, and then slot the cortex chip or what have you in there.

The distinction between ordinance and item is key. The pod's clunkiness is the trade-off for its superb kidnapping capability. If mobility is preferred over security, then you are free to resort to the tried and true method of handcuffs and aim intent. Under no circumstance should a syndicate be able to pull their kidnapping bag from their satchel and plop it on the ground, but rather they must drag it from their shuttle and position it, dedicating their manpower to its deployment.
-
Simply make it an ID-locked locker that corresponds with the special syndicate access level and also retain its internal pressure. That way if the syndicate leave it alone for too long the person inside can still break out, and if the security forces recover a syndicate ID they can heroically validkill everyone, including the hostage.

Handicaps are just gimmicks with a weak excuse of realism, and rarely contribute anything of note to a character except exceptional irritation to those forced to deal with them. With that out of the way, this suggestion can neatly be filed under a more robust character creation screen, which I wholeheartedly support even if it justifies an entire station of mutes. Character creation is 9/10s of the enjoyment of roleplay, after all.
-
How is this any different than a welded locker, except with its own internals and distinctive syndie-cat logo?

Brothers, don't you see the ploy? Distraction, meant to dissuade us from the true conquest. Do not trifle yourselves with forum cleansing. The true battlefield is on the server. Fight the good fight, and once the great threat is eliminated we can deal with the auxiliary infestations. I myself have ritually shaved the head of my characters, for now I am dedicated to this cause. Death to Lesbay!

Logically speaking, the bulk of the Vaurca workforce are from the Zo'ra and K'lax hive, as they happen to be the largest hive. They also happen to be swarming across Tau Ceti like insects due to the destruction of their titan vessel. The voice of these smaller hives would logically be negligible compared to these larger hives that NanoTrasen draws the majority of its Vaurca workers from. I really don't see any justification in fiddling with the Vaurca bound's total lack of identity. I think its a very neat concept that is handled very well in how unforgiving it is. The drone is less than dirt. It is to work and to be abused and to work despite abuse because it does not understand the concept of abuse. Its utterly simplistic understanding of the world makes it beautiful to play. While cyborgs and androids are technically slaved, their artificial intelligence grants them the annoying ability to philosophize about their slavery, to mock their masters ever so slyly, to ultimately be right contemptuous asshats. The Vaurca drone is deprived of the individuality that would give players the ability to be contemptuous asshats, and I think that is a very good thing indeed.
-
According to the lore, the Vaurca themselves don't see drones as being any more than tools designed to work even in dangerous situations, and certainly don't think of them as anything more valuable than a tool. I don't see why the Vaurca would be particularly angry if NanoTrasen employed "The Burden" (You must remember that every unbound Vaurca actually dislike bound Vaurca) in the same fashion as the Vaurca do. If they don't understand the concept of death nor pain, I don't see why they would have any self-preservation instincts. Indeed, I am of the opinion that giving them self-preservation detracts.
-
Although, there's nothing that indicates they would necessarily comply with NanoTrasen chain of command. So while you do obey orders from a superior, and probably obey the most superior order, who is actually most superior is up to player interpretation, so long as their interpretation is consistent.

About the recent influx of hatsune m-m-miko ripoffs
LordFowl replied to a topic in Off Topic Discussion
Remember grimly the dark day of January 5th 2458, when the entire science department had a floor-length braid. The plague is spreading brothers. I fear we act too late.
