[Accepted] Kelnor - Command White List Application
Star Dust replied to Kelnor's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Kelnor knows medical, that is a fact. They know medical, and they know how to do it well. My only issue is that they're a tad lethargic when it comes to providing medical attention, they have the knowledge and could do anything anyone else could in medical, all they're lacking now is the skill to put that knowledge into action. But outside of that tiny issue, they would make a very good CMO, and with enough time and refinement I can see them becoming an excellent addition to medical command staff. +1 -
Reporting Personnel: Evelyn Heaven Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Surgeon Game ID: ckk-cOmr Personnel Involved: Daniel Bellamorte Executive Officer - Witness Evelyn Heaven Surgeon - Witness Rosenwyn Edevane Captain - Witness Macbeth Consular - Offender Secondary Witnesses: Zane Miller Physician - Witness Time of Incident: 2464-10-10 19:25 Real Time: 3:30 PM EST Location of Incident: Medical Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [X] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [X] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: I was coming up from my quarters and into medical when I noticed this official paper sitting on the desk of medical. When I read it I was quiet incensed and insulted by the unprofessional and rude nature of this paper made by Consular Macbeth, it insults the entire crew of SCCV Horizon, its command staff, and all those who put time, effort, and energy into this ship to make it what it is. I personally found this insulting and horribly offensive when I have spent years of my life in studying and practicing medicine just to be called a wage-slave, and a peasant just I wasn't born into a super rich family and made a millionaire at birth. This is unacceptable behavior by a consular and shouldn't be tolerated in the slightest, for it makes members of the crew feel dejected, and overall lowers crew morale. Submitted Evidence: The statement Macbeth made to the entire crew of the SCCV Horizon Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [X] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: I reported to Captain Rosenwyn Edevane and Executive Officer Daniel Bellamorte, they both encouraged me to write an Incident report. Actions taken: None for Macbeth had gone down to their quarters. Additional Notes:

I've been around on Aurora for a while now, and I do remember when we use to have security cyborgs, I do think returning them could be an interesting thing to bring back. I know they were removed because alot of players in the past abused them as emotionless, fearless security officers that often got emagged but I think with how the community has matured alot since then that we can trust players once more with the role. But if there is more to this dislike of the security cyborg do let me know, for my understanding of why it was removed is extremely limited.

Diggey Mineson Consul- Command Application (round 2)
Star Dust replied to Diggey's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Honestly, roleplaying with their Unathi OM has been a blast, they're fun, know how to properly run Operations, and their character is interesting to roleplay with. They have earned my +1 quite easily. -
head of staff Warbidons Head of Staff Whitelist
Star Dust replied to Warbidon's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I've spent a few rounds on Violeta roleplaying with Fros'Qerr Vel-Rena, from what I can see he knows how to properly roleplay, to keep character, and doesn't seem like the kind to guy to use the powerful position of Head of Shitcurity Security to beat down on antags. +1 -
I agree with pretty much most of this. nearly half of the times someone plays the pod role they never get found and pretty much are forced to just sit in silence and darkness for hours. I do believe some kind of distress signal should be sent, or some kind of portable signaler for help? It would make sense for a escape pod to carry such. Doing so could add some interesting rescue parties and interesting meetings. It would also give the pilots something more to do, along with security, medical, and engineering.

Now that we're on a ship and the ship has an extremely high chance of being vented, I think its time to give all of command staff pets their own custom space suits to protect them from the vacuum of space. Quite simple, I just think such would be useful and somewhat comical. Also for HoS's pet, give them a armored voidsuit.

bobbob212's command application
Star Dust replied to Afya's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
From the couple of characters I have seen, and roleplayed with, most of them seem pretty chill, fun, engaging, and honestly pretty cool. I have no doubt in their roleplaying skills and have faith that they could properly roleplay a character in a command role without much issue. They have earned my +1 -
I added abit more to it, and cleared up some errors with the backstory.
-
This was abit of an error on my part, that was meant to get edited and the "leaving a permanent mark on him and his personal ideals" was meant to get removed. I will fix that up.

Which god does he venerate: He gives prayers mostly to Marryam, for a lot of her portfolio's match with his beliefs, and being thankful to her for her protection during the war. But he also does give special tribute to Rredouane as well for he believed he also had some minor part in sparing him due to his skills as a soldier, and also because like the warrior god, he had a love of gambling himself as well. Second question: I would say he would view PRA and especially the DPRA with distrust and caution. But fighting in war for so many years made him too tired to exactly hold burning hate and loathing towards people of an enemy nation. So could he work alongside them without causing an incident yes, is he going to be trusting or outgoing to them no. But that doesn't mean he will never form trust or friendships with them, just it's going to be a lot harder. Though if they were also fellow soldiers for their respective nations, he would have this kindred spirit towards them, for they understand perfectly the anguish he's going through.

Job: He is attempting to become a librarian due to the simplistic work of it, and allowing him to be left alone in a quiet and peaceful environment. Religious views: He is a follower of the Ma'ta'ke Pantheon.

I wasn't taking at max speed from them. But no, it caused minor brain damage to some people. Yes I didn't think taking a single bag of blood would be to awful. For most blood bags to my knowledge IRL only normally hold about a single pint. and IRL losing a pint of blood blood when you donate isn't going to cause any serious issues. I know aurora isn't a 1 to 1 translation to real life, but I seriously didn't think it could cause this much of an issue. I'll keep that in mine for the future.

I recently played a round as medical and wanted to host a blood drive to try and make some interesting rp happen and go! Problem is donating blood is not only extremely dangerous but its fucking super deadly for no reason. Donating a single packet of blood is enough to cause at minimal minor brain damage, and at most moderate or major brain damage depending on how stuff goes. This SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. Last time I gave blood IRL I didn't walk out of the clinic suffering brain damage and half blind. This makes not only trying to spur interesting rp for medical extremely hard, but also massively discouraged due to the danger it can cause to the other player which could put them out of the round. I'm not a coder, and I'm not exactly sure what can be done to fix it, but I open this thread for possible ideas on how to fix this ridiculousness and to hopefully give medical more stuff to do whenever it's a slow/extended round

Added more to the backstory.

BYOND Key: Sarge7767 Character Names: Violeta Arche, Jaxon Sadar, Elna Ceban, Zoe Ines, and Annie Nebka Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Silver Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I believe it would be an interesting way to break out of the mold of just making Human characters over and over, for as enjoyable as Human lore is and as free it can be, there is something refreshing about picking up something new like another race, and exploring their lore, culture, and history. What really drew me to the Tajarans was actually their history, with the first revolution having militia groups such as the People's Emancipation Movement, Republic of Free Tajara, or the Liberated People's of Harr'masir. All of that really reminded me of real life wars such as the Congo wars and the like which makes me very happy for I like realistic depictions of wars, civil wars, and uprising, along with all the splinter cells that would pop up from such a massive war across the entire planet. Another reason why I wish to play this race was due to their superstition, it's the same reason why I liked the Scarab lore so much. You have a lot of freedom to have your own personal form of superstitions for your character and your own good or bad omens depending on character to character. On top of all of that you have the occult-like stuff added onto it, which gives it almost a H.P Lovecraft sorta vibe to it just makes it all the more interesting to read and explore in character. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: What makes Tajara a bit different to Humans is their technological development on the home planet, for unlike the Humans, Unathi, or Skrell, most recent Tajara developments were from other civilizations. This in turn has lead to a strange mix of 1920’s and modern day livelihoods on the home planet, with it being even stated in the lore that though they have modern medicine in the New Kingdom of Adhomai, most Tajara still use more primitive forms of medicine such as herbal remedies and even bloodletting. So this can shape a lot of the perceptions of Tajara who live in these more outdated lifestyles being suddenly exposed to new technologies they might have not had access to, or the money to get depending on parts of the planet. These things are not often discussed or talked about in Human lore, and so not many people really roleplay a character from a more outdated time period. Though if we’re also to say the differences biologically speaking, they’re very different to Humans to state the obvious, Tajara tend to be quicker than Humans, more cold resistant to Humans, and can be somewhat shorter than most Humans, while also being a bit more physically frail to things like blunt trauma or lacerations due to their lighter bodies. Character Name: Trhofiim R'odion Please provide a short backstory for this character Trhofiim R'odion was born in a small village outside of the city of Kaltir, he was raised as the oldest child out of three other siblings. His younger years as a child were spent often helping on the farm as best he could, hunting for game during the winters, being retold stories of his great grandfather by his family who he served as a soldier for the Kingdom of Kaltir during The Great Revolution. This had a influence on his life and made him a lot more receptive to the ideals of monarchy, nobility, and duty. Trhofiim R'odion when nearly an adult was given the greatcoat his grandfather wore during The Great Revolution, a piece of clothing that stuck with him for many years and often wore it around as often as he could during the bitter and unforgiving winters. Trhofiim during his mid teenage years were given a lot more freedom, and in turn responsibility, one of them was finally being allowed to leave the farm proper to go to the city of Kaltir to help sell off their produce, pelts, and salted or smoked meats! This was the first time Trhofiim had ever left the village, and was immediately enamored with the city, the glowing signs of advertisement, the opera houses, and most importantly for Trhofiim the bars. Trhofiim would love every time he was brought onto one of these trips to Kaltir which was always a few times a year, and whenever he did go and wasn't busy helping sell their goods he was off spending his time lying his way into pubs to drink, gambling with what little money he was allotted for himself, or sneaking into the many opera houses. When Trhofiim R'odion turned 22, the NKA rebellion had started, the mixture of stories from the past about his Grandfather defending the monarchy, the secret printing press releasing pro-NKA propaganda, and being so close to the capital of the NKA rebellion is what prompted him to sign up for service for the Imperial Adhomian Army. His hunting skills during the younger years of his life helped him shape up to become a scout and a skilled marksman. Though he was a scout, Trhofiim was still exposed to the same horrors almost every soldier during the civil war had to face, the endless bombardments, the chemical attacks, the bayonet charges, the deafening roar of gunfire, and the screams of dying people. But not only that, he saw the secondary effects of such as starvation, the destruction of cities and towns, and wounded or even dying/dead civilians. The horrors of war not left him mentally scarred and troubled, but physically as well, as he suffered many battle injuries that left him disfigured and half blind in his right eye. The war turned Trhofiim into a different kind of person, one who in the past was full of energy, pride, and zeal was now just a quiet and reserved man who in the end would much rather spent his time away from others. Once the armistice was signed, Trhofiim was discharged from the military fully, he returned to his farm to attempt to resume his old life; such as hunting, farming, and tending to his land. But he found himself unable to relax, things kept reminding him of the civil war, a conversation topic here, a sudden reminding noise there, it all kept pulling him back into those moments and it slowly ate away at him until it became too much for him to take it anymore. Trhofiim attempted to try many things to stave off the reminders, prayer, writing, drawing, tasks that tried to focus his mind away from the reminders but sadly most of these offered little solace to him, and so he turned to drinking to help cope with the stress. Trhofiim's drinking only exasperated his problems further and he started to lash out at people and objects in drunken fits of rage, until one night after a particularly heavy amount of drinking things came to a head for him, and in an explosive bout of rage destroying his military uniform, his war ribbons, and what few war photos he was able to take, to try and desperately shove out the memories of the past. Trhofiim after this and once he sobered up came to the conclusion that he couldn't exactly keep going on in this manner anymore, mentally or physically. Follow that up with the problem that he has bled through a large amount of his savings, and due to taxes he wasn't going to be able to keep a sustainable way of life even if his emotional issues were not a concern. Trhofiim looked at his options, and decided that using the rest of his savings he would move to Biesel for better job opportunities to support himself, to have easier access to facilities to help him better recover and heal from his mental trauma, and to hopefully find a place where he can settle down properly and find some form of peace. What do you like about this character? I like this character for it allows me to explore my own personal interest of war veterans, but also soldiers returning home from war changed. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would say my skills as a roleplayer are above average.

I personally find the lack of a proper isolation/high-risk holding cell for security is abit of a oversight. It would make no sense for security to not have a cell for super dangerous prisoners, or those that are to crafty/cleaver to be left alone in a normal cell without causing problem or risking escape. I also think that if there is a high risk prisoner cell, it should have something what real prisons have, a food shoot to put food through without risking the officer, and to allow them to throw flash bangs, tear gas, or concussion grenades inside if need be.

[Resolved] Player Complaint - PsycoticCone, Sarge7767
Star Dust replied to ryder's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
(Sarge7767 here) I wanted to say sorry for how I started that whole encounter, I was enthralled and my orders were to detain you and bring you to the warden/vampire. But that still doesn't excuse the total dickry I pulled on you in the HoS's office, I should have Ahelped and ask but I was far to mentally tired and while at the same time starting to just get fired back up due to the excitement of seeing the round finally pick up, so I wasn't properly thinking at the moment. But like I have said, what I pulled wasn't ok, a telebaton and riot shield vs a energy carbine on stun isn't fair, especially when you just joined the round only about 15-20 minutes ago and didn't have time to even gear up. I just hope that I can learn from this mistake and try to use better judgement in the future. -
Reporting Personnel: Rain Kato Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Security Officer Game ID: cdo-b40A Personnel Involved: Reene Oguto, Curator: Offender Secondary Witnesses: N/A Time of Incident: 8/6/2021 Real Time: 8/6/2063 Location of Incident: Library Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [X] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [X] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [ ] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: I was doing my normal rounds around the station's main floor when I noticed Reene Oguto in the bar with tools, breaking down chairs back into planks of wood. At first I didn't think much of it, but noticing the lack of Heads of Staff I figured that didn't have the proper paperwork and authorization to do such so I did a double back and found them in the library using the wood they gained from the chairs in the bar to set up crude easel's to place canvases onto them. When I stepped inside I informed Reene Oguto to refrain from breaking down chairs without proper authorization, that is when they suddenly turned hostile and started to make needlessly rude, snarky, and outright hostile comments towards me, when I asked why they became so hostile they only gave me more snarky responses. This went on for about half a minute longer before they demanded me to leave the library at once. When I asked what I did to be removed from the library they didn't give me a proper answer, only telling me to leave. I then asked if it was because I was a security officer and they gave a non-verbal yes in response. Submitted Evidence: N/A Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [X] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: I didn't report it to any Heads of Staff, reason was there were no Heads of Staff active at the moment to handle the problem. Actions taken: N/A Additional Notes:

He served in the military all the way up till the end of the civil war, while serving he didn’t do anything to noteworthy or extreme outside of what the common footsoldier partakes in on the daily. Though in his military service he did suffer a lingering injury that still plagues him to this day, he suffered a bayonet wound to the left hand, making it lose some motor control in the middle and ring finger, thankfully this wasn’t his trigger hand, and was still able to serve. By the end of the civil war, all notions of patriotism, the glorification of duty and being a soldier, or the honor for fighting for one's king had left him at this point, replaced with a hollow melancholy for his lost youth and innocence. Trhofiim R'odion returned to his family's farm as a jaded and quiet person, and for about a year he spent his time working with his family. But the endless reminders of war from his scarred homeland was too much for him to bear so he departed Adhomai to hopefully find a more peaceful and quiet life in Biesel. What do you like about this character? I like this character for it allows me to explore my own personal interest of war veterans, but also soldiers returning home from war changed. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would say my skills as a roleplayer are above average, yet I’m eager to keep proving still.

Recently after getting back into medical, I noticed a lot of changes for one, alot of medical jobs were removed and I was informed due to it causing too much confusion and way too many arguments which is understandable! But I'm here to say that the roles of medical have became way to narrowed down now, to the point that all there really is for the actual medical tending is medical interns which are meant to be seen as Green Horns who don't know what they're doing, physician which are meant for people who oocly and Icly know enough about medical to do bad stuff to people by accident, and surgeons which are people who mostly focus on the surgical part of medical. But with the physician you have to learn and do a lot of things, me who loves to play medical but has very little interest in doing surgical is kinda forced into that role and some others might as well feel this way. But say if we re-added a nurse or something similar it could be a fun middle ground between a medical intern and a physician, being skilled enough icly to do most that a physician can but not having to worry about doing the surgical rp, and not just that but forgetting a key part of medical rp, recovery! A nurse's job is often to offer medical treatment to less serious injuries while also doing the more time consuming task of looking over patients, something that a physician shouldn't be doing in the first place. I know this is sorta a block of text, and not very skillfully formatted but if you can read through the eye sore that is that block, I hope you can understand my reasoning for wanting to bring back the Nurse job.

BYOND Key: sarge7767 Total Ban Length: permanently Banning staff member's Key: garnascus Reason of Ban: The reason I want to appeal my ban is because I want to get back on Aurora station and once again play and have fun. My behavior in the past was not acceptable at all and was in part me not properly understanding Fear rp because at that time I didn't really fully understand what that meant, and that most of my time on SS13 servers beforehand was on colonial marines and stuff like that. I also very often got overly excited and jumped the gun on stuff without really thinking about it. Though I most want to say sorry is for how I acted when I last joined and played, I was in a poor mood, kinda overly emotional at that point in life, and did the immature thing and vented my anger directly into the game which lead to me getting permabanned off the server.
