Everyone that as greytided at one point /knows/ it's the divine mission to map out Maintence. Also, Cargo also has full access to maint, so don't give me the /only engi/ businesses. Assistant is the ONLY job I can play without having to be yelled at by a head. It's nothing like running around Maintence and finding fun do das and stuffs

Spawn Assistants with Maintenance Access, because I hate the fact that people for (*cough* HoPs*cough) Say its not needed, while I understand why that is, I dont understand why that wont give it. Do you NEED that slice of Cake? No, but we eat it anyway. One of the reasons I play Assistant is because of the Maintenance Access, its FUN to run around in the tunnels as a Grey Shirt. So can we spawn them with it?

[ Skrell Players ] Why don't you do this awesome thing
Butterrobber202 replied to Butterrobber202's topic in General
Awesome, hope I get to meet one of those Characters at some point. -
So, dug around in the almighty lore, and discovered something very interesting. Skrells are recommended to talk like Mordan Solus from Mass Effect 2/3 WHY ARNT YOU DOING THIS. I have yet to see a Skrell talk like that and I'm disappointed. Quotes from Mordan I'm not saying act like him ( but brownie points if you do) but can we fit this in? The idea of Skrell talking about like normal humans is... Uncomfortable ( because I'm a lore stickler ) Reason that Skrell shouldn't talk like normal Humans "The Skrell take on Basic (the standard station language) is characterized by short, concise sentences, and an elimination of repetitive or non-essential words. You can refer to Mass Effect's Mordin Solus [1] as an example of this" taken from Aurora Wiki, Lore Section, Skrell ( Excuse the eyesore dialogue, I'm doing this from my iPad)

Mental Interface- Gives you AI/Borg like Tech Interface, but it checks for relevant access before allowing use. (Brain/Head Implant) ( Like Telepathy did)
-
As a Scientist player myself, the answer is YES. I would love to see some /good/ experiment Roleplay. Throw a 5x5 cage area and a console where we can beg Skull Centcomm to bluespace in a away-mission mob for experimentation.
-
This gets all my approval. I'd be ecstatic if this gets added, ( NEW JOB IN ENGINEERING, PRAISE JESUS) I love the idea of it. But uh.... Make it user friendly, Becuase 75% of players most likely don't know how to do this IRL.

Cough* Mechs *Cough But yeah, robotics is extremely limited after they make the forever empty cyborg shell and the ripley. It would be awesome to have continued use throughout the round. NOTE: For you LOL-NO people, implants are IC-Friendly. The Skrellians are known for producing implants for adaptive reasons.
-
So, on a server I use to play ( I think it was tg code) robotics could make implants. 'Implants you say? Explain' Basically, with a quick surgery ( and some R&D research) robotics can produce implants that affect you. There was a intergrated Medical HUD (eye implant) and Sec HUD. (Both were togglable) and a hand implant that would tighten the grip on what ever you were holding. Meaning, that crowbar wouldn't drop out of you hands when the gravity turned back in sudden, when you got up it would still be in your hand. This was toggleable using one of the black boxes at the top of the screen. It was a invaluable asset while being a sec officer or exploring space. One was a ( head implant) language translatier. ( didn't translate binary). In conclusion it was just super useful stuff from R&D. And I think it would be awesome to add this to the station.

5th Duty Officer/CCIA recrutiment thread
Butterrobber202 replied to Gollee's topic in General Announcements
Byond key:Butterrobber202 Character names:Ssirus Zuberi, Macy Laster, Adam Davis What times are you available? In GMT: Midnight - 3:00 PM in GMT In CST 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Weekends) 9:00 PM - 3:00 AM GMT Weekdays Do you have any experience with Moderating? Or similar. I was a Trial Mod on a Minecraft Server, Sadly the Server was shut down shortly before my time was up. (Lack of Funds) Why do you want to be a Duty Officer? I love Story and Lore. Its just awesome, I have always loved reading and I hope to one day, make a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book. I also happen to love anything Space. I was a NASA Addict as a kid, and dreamed of the Chance I could have of going to space. Then I found Space Station 13 and was instantly HITCHED. It was everything I had been looking for, a Game where every Choice is your own, and you didnt have to follow a pre-set story to the letter. After some years of Playing, I finally learned how to play nearly every job, every little mechanic I could find. Then (I kid you not) I was pointed in the direction of the Lore Page of Baystation's Wiki for the first time. Sitting at Home? Reading Unathi Lore. Boring School class, reading Bluespace Lore. It was awesome to find a story this big. So flashback ended for now. I'd want to be a Duty Officer because I get to make other's Roleplay more interesting. I love diving headfirst into a story, and I want to create something that everyone will love and appreciate. I like to play malf AI (DONT YOU CLICK THE X BUTTON) because of the Hack you can do to Centcomm's Announcement relay. It gives me a chance to make some (fake) situations. Its just something I find extremely enjoyable. If the Overloads Admins told me 'No Evac shuttle this round, make a IC Reason' I would throw cookies at them, give them a hug then type something up. How well can you handle stress? In real life? Terribly, I've had 2 Mental Breakdowns to date because of stress, (But to be fair I was like 7 and 9 respectably ) but in a game? Fine. Not much of a Issue. ( But I find that it helps RPing a Panicking Character if you are panicking to ) What does it mean to be a Duty Officer? IC: Make the round and Roleplay interesting and Fun to immersive in. OOC: Be responsible for others and yourself. If you have the power to affect others, you need to make sure it's controlled in a way that only Helps others. If the staff gives you a power to affect the round in a major way, its a show of Trust, if you ruin it, they won't trust you as much. And you most likely ruined someone's round How active on the forums and server are you? I look at the forums almost everyday as of now. I'm on the Server when ever I can. Anything else to add? Sadly, at this time, I limited to using my Computer on the Weekends because I was a idiot and didn't finish a Essay on time. Notes on me: I'm ADD, getting that off the bat, 'Why do you mention this Butter?' because the ADD has a side-effect of making me somewhat forgettable. The Way my brain is hardwired is that another thought, leads to another thought, then another thought, then another thought, then I've forgotten one of those thoughts along the line. Another Time Note: My schedule tends to have some variety depending on my Life. MORE NOTES: I have been playing Aurora on and off for like, 3 Years. (SS13 in general actually, I just keep having Aurora as my Replay Button) And I've never had a bad experience here. (Meaning 'Something Bad enough to make me want to never play here again' ) -
I agree that this should be added, as I wanted to read some books but found the Library Shelf to be filled with Dust, and dust only

More lethal scanning beds and other things for MALF AI ONLY
Butterrobber202 replied to swat43's topic in Archive
As a person who has recently played as a malt Ai I got cluster fucked when the Sec/Engineering team rushed me with EMPS. Had 0 defense. Turrets got EMP and Card Swipe Disabled, and just meh. The team unscrewed me and dragged me around before the admins had to gib me because I was glitched to a wall. -
UnknownMurder's Head Application
Butterrobber202 replied to UnknownMurder's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
This is the Saltest bastard I have ever met UM takes his RP, no matter what kind, to a very acceptable Level. While he Admined on CM I didn't get much insight on his Characters, but got some insight on him. Overall he is a nice guy, funny guy at times, and is one of the better Roleplayers I have seen. Also, I was unaware Alex was his Character, and I've only seen Good-RP from him. So bonus Brownies for Unknown. ( That Salt thing was from when he muted me on OOC, IC and Adminhelp for screaming at him to much. lel) -

This isn't just a super high priority deal. I just thought the Idea of it was good for character expression. Even if it is copy and paste xD
