As far as interest goes I'm 100% interested in seeing some form of mechanical reinforcement for injuries that would realistically require a recovery period even assuming futuristic reinforcement. Honestly, even if you were 100% physically healed after a fight that wouldn't mean you wouldn't be more cautious of getting hurt for the simple fact that it was probably pretty traumatic (attacked by a greimorian, hivebot, shot by the antag, even just getting beaten up badly enough takes a toll psychologically on people.) I don't think there's a feasible way to represent that in-game outside of just RPing it so Cat's suggestions are probably better. My worry is that if we're going to go with "opt-in" style mechanics such as simply being less healthy post-surgery then you'd just run into the same issue of the dark-setting corpo-command member telling your injured miner/officer/etc. that it's too damned bad and to get back out there. I think if we use mechanics then the mechanics should be something that do have a hard reinforcement such as Cat's suggestions that basically tell you "You're recovering/you're seriously hurt." Things such as having difficulty standing, slower movement speed, being 'woozy' from surgery/medication, etc. I also think it could also be something that's just narratively enforced instead such as the rules for when execution is ok, or the rules regarding taking announcements at face value. Why not just tell players that you're also expected to bear in mind when you're hurt, recovering, etc. and likewise for officers under your IC command in the case of HoS/Captains? I think this could result in at the very least the rest of the ship getting more involved with violent gimmicks if not other options being explored once you realize your mall-cop team are all recovering.

accepted TheMaskedReader's Command Application

TheMaskedReader really embodies this statement well in their interactions with other characters in my experience as well as what I've seen in the discord. I'm fully confident that they can be trusted in a command capacity. Big +1. -
I've enjoyed interacting with Kayode and in the past Tsisana Caladius. I'm sure that the same level of thought will be put into any Tajara character Lorilili comes up with. +1

I can't add anything that cannot be said already about Ren Hartfort, but in the few rounds they were around Javier Rivera was immediately a memorable character to me as well. Not only is NM a great roleplayer, but also a good teacher to new players in medical. +1

I'm normally not a fan of "This is supposed to be a dark setting!" as an argument, but I'm in agreement with this one. If anything it makes more sense for the machines to only ever allow a 'win' of just enough to keep playing, and to even be a vector for predatory Idris loans in some form.

Survivalist type characters generally resonate well with me. That aside Zane Miller, Marco Bernardi, and Marcus Zhao, are in my experience enjoyable characters that can portray their themes in a grounded, and engaging way. I think that Zenta will be a well portrayed, positive addition to the characters on ship. +1

I agree that combat should feel more dangerous, and punishing; however, I don't think the answer is to make it more immediately lethal. I don't think it's fun for anyone to get clicked into a twenty minute wait, clicked into lying-on-a-surgery-table-for-the-rest-of-the-round-RP, or to have other types of RP interrupted by trigger happy antags/security. I'd be more in favor of what Oolong suggested, or something similar.

Noble Row's Command Whitelist Application

Broadsword has been a solid XO who goes out of his way to interact with the crew beyond just the duties of the role. I also really enjoyed Eliza Trin on the shifts they've been around. +1 -

accepted NM (Comrade Batman) - Command Whitelist Application

Nothing positive has been said about Ren Hartfort that hasn't been said already. There were at least two rounds recently where NM_'s CMO, Lucius Volvalaad, was the acting captain, and was directing security just as effectively as an HoS would in my opinion. They kept contact with us, made sure we were informed and coordinating, and still oversaw their own department. Easy +1 from me. -
GladiatorGames's - Command Whitelist

When I first began playing on Aurora Sevastian Yevgeniy was one of the first characters I met ICly, and immediately made a good impression. That stayed consistent on every round I played with them as well as Amadi Nnamani, and Erik Valbrandsson. I recall that it was a deadpop round, and we ended up 'cleaning' weapons in the armory as my cadet. Gladiator not only went over this ICly as Sevastian, but went out of their way to answer any LOOC questions I had about how the mechanics would apply to this. Likewise the first time meeting Nnamani I think they delivered really well on the whole 'devil in a suit and tie' character, or at least that's the vibe I got. I think they're a very capable roleplayer, a welcoming player OOCly, and would be a good addition to command for these reasons. +1 -
JayJay has consistently been a positive contributor to the server. Besides the fact that myself, and so many others, consistently enjoy his characters he's gone out of his way to explain mechanics to me in the past, and I'm sure he's done the same for others. I think he'll be a great addition to command staff. +1

Seconding - especially being able to create more. If we're missing those four then that limits us to the two GPSs in Research EVA, and sometimes that isn't going to be enough if science is organizing an expedition instead of a 1 - 2 scientists hitching along with mining.

Event Feedback - Dreary Futures: Forceful Introduction

I agree that that much firepower aimed at a ship with only crew militia, and a small internal security team isn't going to get any realistic opposition. I don't know how it was in other departments, but science spent a good portion of the round preparing to survive if the ship was fired upon rather than to try to fight off any intruders. I think what really sealed the decision to comply was the threat of the ship guns. If it had just been a boarding party then it may not have gone differently, but it's at least more likely that the crew will oppose intruders without the belief that any action can immediately result in the ship that themselves, and many of their friends/coworkers, live on being fired upon by railguns, torpedoes, etc. As for my personal enjoyment of the event I neither liked/nor disliked it. I wasn't engaged by it directly beyond the threat of being fired upon by another ship, and the response to that by the science department.
