While this appeal is once again somewhat bareboned, I think enough time has likely passed at this point that I feel comfortable unbanning you. Hi there. This ban appeal reads similarly to you many previous ban appeals and you use similar explanations for the behavior leading to your eventual ban. Despite this being a year, I am hesitant in lifting this ban after being given so many chances in the past. I do not want this to be a situation where you are only attempting to play a good character in pursuit of getting this ban lifted, so I would like you to clarify a few things first: Why do you want to play antag again? What exactly to you see changing moving forward, and how to you plan to avoid falling into the same patterns of behavior as before?

Hi, thank you for applying! Before we can say yes/no on giving you a trial, we'd like to hear a bit more about what you believe the OOC expectations for Command WL players to be. We would also like to hear how you would see yourself interacting with antags (as, let's face it, having to interact with antags is something which will come up more often than not). The rest of the Command WL team and I share similar concerns that Goolies and N8-Toe brought up, and just want to hear a bit more about that before reaching a decision--mainly that you have put thought into this before applying.

Hi. I do not have a whole lot to add here beyond reiterating that this has been a persistent issue with your play in recent weeks. I do not have the power to unilaterally strip your Synthetic WL, that is something which is left to the decision of the Synthetic WL Team. I will just explain the series of events from my point-of-view. The reason you were only given a 7-day ban, and say, not a permanent ban was due to the fact that I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt here and follow a reasonable path of escalation. You were spoken to no less than five times in recent weeks about your behavior as Oro, who I will note, is a Burzsiean IPC and inherently comes with greater expectations. Less than one full day before I gave you this ban, you were spoken to by staff and given an official lore warning against your Synthetic WL. This warning was focused on your lack of self-preservation and general believability concerns with your play. In the ticket leading up to your ban, I was not provided with really any explanation or justification for your actions. You were being directed elsewhere by the Executive Officer which you claim you did not hear. Assuming this is accurate, and that you did not hear the XO evacuating people, this is still a wholly unreasonable response from you as the player. What occurs is fairly simple. You proceed into the fighting with your integrated mining drill and begin attacking mercenaries who were already engaged in an extremely violent firefight with security and other crew who were caught in the crossfire. Not only did you involve yourself in the fighting, which you readily admitted--you also claimed that you were simply passing through the dining hall to escape into the hallway. Reviewing the logs after the fact, this simply is being misrepresented on your part. I will leave it to the other staff members who handle this complaint to provide the specific logs should they so desire, but they very clearly demonstrate that you entered the dining room. You began attacking the mercenaries. You received damage. You then pulled back from the dining room and healed yourself at least seven times with Nanopaste. You re-enter the dining room. You continue to fight with the mercenaries. Now, I was not aware of these specifics at the time that I placed your 7-day ban. With this new information, I not only think that the week ban is entirely justified, but would have likely escalated this to a permanent ban if I were aware you were misrepresenting what occurred at the time. I will now address your final claim: You have come and gone from the server over the years, this is not a mark against you. Players come and go all the time, returning after long periods of absence. This is true, yet, our expectations toward players have not fundamentally changed in between your bouts of activity here. You are a whitelisted player, you have applied and have been accepted to play a specific species and with that comes a greater degree of responsibility and of scrutiny. I can accept that you initially misremembered the degree to which we hold our players accountable for their actions, but I do not find any value in that excuse at this point. As I initially stated, this is not the first time you were spoken to about self-preservation and getting yourself involved in fighting you otherwise should not have. This is not the second, or even the third time. No, you have been approached by a staff member regarding this same issue no less than five times before I placed this ban. There is a point where we must draw the line between general unfamiliarity and willful ignorance. Ideally, one of the many times you were spoken to before this escalation would have set you on the path to correct this behavior, but unfortunately, it has not happened so far. I am glad to see that you are taking this seriously, and hope to see positive changes upon your return when the ban expires. That will be all for my responses here unless the handling staff members have any further questions.

We have reviewed this complaint and the logs from the ticket. This is a completely clear-cut case of fail RP. There is little else to say in this case. I will address where you have gone wrong in a few ways here. Mortaphenyl, while it may give you messages such as “You wish this feeling could last forever” is not even an addictive medication. Several drugs in the game are mechanically addictive, but Mortaphenyl is not one of those. If it were truly that addictive, that after 2-3 pills, your character loses all sense of self-preservation and becomes a deeply addicted individual, there is zero chance it would be permitted on-ship as freely as it is. Even if your character were addicted, the way that you played this out is in an extremely… gimmicky sort of way. Just as Noble Row stated in his response, this is aggressively LRP. This sort of behavior you should certainly know better than to engage in, especially after how long you’ve been playing on this server. There are expectations set which apply to everyone, you are not exempt from them. Going from 0-100 in less than an hour is utterly without sense. Lastly, the way you have reacted in your ticket with Noble Row is extremely inappropriate and that alone would have seen you banned in many cases. When you are told to tone something back, you need to tone something back. All in all, we see that Noble has done nothing wrong here–you did not receive a warning, you did not receive a ban, you were merely spoken to regarding your poor behavior and were told to correct it. We uphold Noble’s ruling here and just wish to say that you should consider yourself lucky that he was the one who took your ticket, as you would have undeniably been banned by anyone else. There is nothing else that needs to be said here. We will be locking and archiving this now.

I will also note that you made this complaint while the round in question was still ongoing. Do not do this again, it is against the rules that are listed at the top of the complaint forum.
