  1. BYOND Key: keinto Player Byond Key: Hackie Mhan Staff involved: Tainavaa (the few times I ahelped), Alberyk Reason for complaint: Pretty simple. Over the past few months, we have had some veteran players start playing bald Assistants with unrealistic/memetic behavior. Hackie is one of the latest ones to join this stupid trend. So here is your complaint. I have nothing against you and we both know you have better characters than this. Pablo Leach: Has this flavour-text: Has the following skills: (Provided by Alberyk) Goes "Haha" every sentence, which at this point is a server meme and one of the times I ahelped this, started going "Hehe" instead to try to get around it. Disrespectful to the staff who addressed this, in my opinion. Approximate Date/Time: Over the course of about a week. Please. No more "joke" characters.
  2. Didn't you make a feedback thread already?
  3. Good bye, Scopes. Good luck with whatever you do next, and hope you come back some time.
  4. Roy Wyatt at the bar after a holodeck boxing match:
  5. Cut a third of the hammock with the shiv to turn into a bag for the canned food. Fit as many cans as possible. Cut the rope from the hammock and wrap it around your shoulder. Carry rest of hammock to be used as a blanket later. Start heading out of the cave toward the destroyed ancient tower.
  6. This is the first post I've seen that addresses Ffrance's change in behavior. At this point, I am convinced she is being a troll and deliberately trying to lower the quality of RP in the server, specially when her tone and grammar in forums and ingame are compared. I was involved in the round that Sierra's complaint is about. This was the round where I decided to take another break from the server due to how bad the RP was that round. I was yet again disappointed when I learned one of the worst RPers that round was Ffrances possibly on an alternate account. Not clear which one was used during the round. If she decided to change her ingame behavior, I am sure she would make a great moderator. But for now, I have to strongly oppose this application. -1
  7. I can tell you what it's probably going to happen. Waste loop is going to clog up so much that you will only be able to fully vent 2 or 3 rooms after several minutes, after that, probably several hours for the whole station. You will also have to select all the horribly listed air alarm in the atmospherics console, making it a very tedious process that you have to do again for refilling. Good luck if you ever get to try it, though.
  8. This happens with the fire axe all the time as well.
  9. And have a chance of burning whoever opened the door.
  10. I never said it was okay. But what I'm saying is that I think there is a fair possibility Michael thought you fired first because I saw things unfold this way: Elina fires at Alexia> Michael mistakes the sound for Alexia firing at him > Michael shoots Alexia > Alexia fires back at Michael > Michael shoots Alexia in short burts until she's dead. I think he should have stopped once you were down, but considering how the rest of the round unfolded, I wasn't surprised at all.
  11. Before I reply, I will clarify a few things from my perspective when you were killed. I believe Elina had shot you, either by accident or not, and Michael thought it had been you firing at him, so he fired back out of reflex, and then you fired back at his mech, ultimately ending in your death. Now from my point of view of the entire round. Command states the bar is closed due to "Unknown lifeforms in the vents". After some time, Roy repeatedly asks why they aren't being investigated by science. This builds up his suspicion that something is off after the entire crew gets its pay halved. The round gets to the point where no one is allowed outside their department without authorization. Roy, after getting bored, moves to departures where the bartender has built a mini-bar. He hangs around with the few people there and then Security shows up, including Elina. Roy is questioned about his presence there and ends up getting flashed, cuffed, and removed of his headset out of nowehere. He is taken to prisoner storage where he is stripped down and put into an orange jumpsuit. He is moved to the processing room where he is interrogated by Elina about something among the lines of questioning NT's orders, and then proceeds to imply by her questions that Roy is hampering NT. Again, all Roy had done was repeatedly question why the Bar was closed due to "unknown lifeforms in the vents" and why Research wasn't getting on it. Roy then sees Alexia (OP) show up in the Brig. Roy's co-workers, Oliver and Nasir, are taken to the Brig as well, where they are put in the same room with him. Michael, the Captain, shows up with a durand ;this is about 40 minutes into the round. Elina tells Roy and company they are to be taken to the asteroid where they'll mine as punishment. Roy and company are moved to Mining with Elina and Michael and his durand. Elina hits Roy (who is handcuffed) with the tele baton for some reason, probably due to irritation. They arrive at the Outpost, where he and Nasir are beaten some more due to refusing to stand in line. They see Chief Ha'kim and Atmos Tech Oliver Stefan outside, seemingly to see what Sec is doing to them and maybe free them. Michael goes EVA with the mech and scares them away for a short time, as far as I saw. Roy and company are moved to EVA, where they find out there is only one mining hardsuit. At this point I think Oliver started unscrewing the windows where Elina and the other sec were standing. Michael, instead of stopping him, apparently decides it's better to vent the room where Roy was. Nasir begins biting his hand off in order to uncuff himself, which he does. After the captain causes the breach, ZAS fails and the room is not vented, but the intent to kill remains. Elina runs off to the shuttle and leaves the officer behind, who is then killed, mainly by Roy, and stripped. Roy gets separated from the group on the way back to the station and ends up in Engineering. An engineer informs Michael and possibly someone else of Roy's location. Zubari and a sec borg show up and fail to discover Roy was hiding in a locker. Michael then arrives and finds Roy hiding there. Roy tries to escape by shooting the engineer with a taser in case he tried to hinder him even more. Michael murders Roy with a mining drill. Most of what I saw in the five hour round was Michael searching everywhere for "terrorists" with his mech. I ahelped the incident at the mining outpost having forgotten Oliver started opening the windows to expose Elina to space. Moderator Soapy reminds me of this and tells me Michael is given a warning for rampaging with the mech, but that the character does have the skills required. I accept this and expect Michael to step off the mech and return to his command duties. Instead, what I see is him running around the station with the mech, seemingly having forgotten his duties to keep the crew updated on the escalating situation and violence, while also twisting the facts about the "terrorists" to his benefit, along with Elina. After many other deaths, Michael kills the OP's character with what I would like to think was a misunderstanding on who fired at who first. Several minutes later, he and Elina call ERT, at which point he steps off the mech and surrenders to ERT. Michael player ghosts once he has been detained by ERT, saying it was very late and played for a lot longer he expected to. But what I saw is a player who refused to RP the more calm situation it would be to explain his actions after having all the fun hunting whoever questioned command. I was extremely disappointed when I learned this player was MrImATool, who I think has been in aurora since the beginning, and used to be a staff member. There is another player that caused these same feelings of veteran players RPing horribly as if almost to deliberately damage further the state Aurora is in right now, but this complaint is not about them. EDIT: Forgot to say I was never a revolutionary nor got ever invited. I was forced to self-antag instead of turning myself in after seeing the way command was acting.
  12. Let's stop being a "Heavy RP" server then.
  13. Yes, please. Make multiple punches and laser wounds not heal after 20 seconds as well.
  14. Gas pumps will keep pumping until the output reaches 15,000 kPa, or until there is no more input. The speed will steadily decrease if the input pressure decreases or the output pressure gets higher.
  15. Going to clarify a thing from furry's first post. I was the detective that round. You didn't take the headset from me. I saw you taking the headset of an officer who had was recovering from a hallucination episode and was on the ground, or SSD. My character had stopped hallucinating when he saw you do this. He wasn't in the middle of shooting the Medbay like he was a few minutes ago. You claim the officer was dead and you were just saving their equipment to return to sec, and on the off-chance that you really believed they were dead, not only did you take their headset, but you replaced it with an engineering one. To me and my character, that just seemed like you were fucking around. And that was before you were seen taking another security headset from someone else. To avoid this in the future, don't wear other department's headsets if you're going to return them.
  16. Yes. We need more of this. All I have seen RD's doing 95% of the time in terms of "interdepartamental cooperation" is the robustion of antags with a fabricated protopistol, or asking Medbay/Sec to give them stuff for research, but that's it. I'm looking forward to seeing how you stand out from other directors in this aspects if you get a whitelist. I know blobs aren't antags, at least anymore, but I remember a time where only the RD and maybe the CE knew about them. But last time I asked, apparently now EVERYONE knows. This takes some of the excitement away, IMO. I can't get any more specific about antags, but this is a good starting point: http://wiki.baystation12.net/Identifying_Antagonists
  17. Leo Wyatt - Subtle, well-mannered, dramatic-lighing-obsessed, Noir-Detective worshipper and wanna-be. Roy Wyatt - Loud, stubborn, angry, mischievous, sometimes-immature Engineer/Atmos Tech. Balthazar Blackburn - Spiritual reincarnation of Big Brother from 1984 whom one day I hope to have an awesome rp-rev round as Head of Security. Andrew Tanek - Energetic, excessively friendly and optimistic Security Officer/Quartermaster Pi series - An artificial intelligence series which prefix changes depending on its module. So far, I have only played 3. AI: Opi, Janitorial Borg: Mopi, and am looking forward to play as pAI: Papi. Ayyyyyy!
  18. It's no fun, and it allows Security to get away with brigging you unjustly with no resistance whatsoever, like it's happened so many times in the past. At least with a lawyer, people might have a fighting chance. Although for the sake of the flow in RP, people shouldn't get a lawyer for minor sentences. Jackboot, with the current way IAA is perceived, the suspect isn't guaranteed to get IAA to help them. Just yesterday, IAA refused to help me because they "didn't want to meddle with Security affairs."
  19. So, the Biesel laws apply on-station? What happens when you want a lawyer and there are none around?
  20. I'm very in the middle of this. On one hand, if the Captain gets detained for Exceeding Official Powers, then he is still the Captain. It doesn't say to remove them from command, does it? He may not be able to walk around, but unless Security are dicks and take away his headset and PDA, he can still be in command of other situations, just not the one he was detained for. On the other hand, it's hypocritical from Security to take action so quickly and arrogantly as the Captain, instead of doing what they have told numerous detainees in the past, which is something among the lines of, "If you don't like it, wait until we get to CentComm make an incident report."

    Typing indicators?

YES. WHY DO WE STILL NOT HAVE THESEOMHMYGODPLEASENOW+1.
  22. If all of the departments you listed start out with a CD, I can't help it but to compare it to giving all of them a flash as well, or any other Security defensive tool. Why don't they get flashes or batons? Because it makes you call for Security. Why doesn't every department get an autolathe? Because it makes you get Cargo. Why doesn't every department get a sleeper like Medbay? Afterall, accidents can happen in any department, right? Because it makes you cooperate with Medbay, and your character should have little idea of how to use it. If you need protection, you get Security. If you need treatment, you get Medbay. If you need complicated devices, you get Research. If you need construction, you get Engineering. With the way construction currently works, engineering tasks are not only the most immersion-breaking when done by an unqualified person, it's also one of the quickest and so easy to get away with that people don't care or notice. I think you mean it reduces the amount Assistants have, and not Engineering? Even then, most rounds in Engineering consist of people sitting in the lobby, waiting for something to break, until they also get SSD. You were telling me that attitude is the core of this problem, and I agree, but the current mechanics make Engineers almost needless when when it comes to anything that is not fixing breaches or big projects. Let them do the more subtle things, like instantly building a table or a chair where people need it. With a lot of time, and a proper guide, someone could indeed build a table with materials. But the game makes you do it instantly, and we all know no one is ever going to emote an entire hour of building a table. If you are an Assistant, then help with the more basic tasks like moving things from point A to B, or organizing paperwork, or cleaning, or helping the Bartender serve drinks, or helping the Chef keep the Cafeteria decent. I think you are allowing Assistants and other personnel do things way too advanced like using a CD. Before commenting on this, allow me to quote you on what you said over skype regarding this suggestion: I like this suggestion a lot as well. It doesn't make Engineers as necessary, but at least people need to get tools beforehand. My main issue is big and complicated objects coming out of people's hand and simple metal sheets. Your idea makes it enjoyable to watch and with some proper delay, more immersive. Regarding France's reply on antags, then make it orderable through tele-crystals, and make it fit into a backpack. The bulky-size was to counter the fact that it can hold 50 sheets of multiple types of materials, which should make it a big device.
  23. Replace the current construction materials such as metal, plasteel, solid plasma, sand, iron, etc, with a Construction Device for every Engineer. Construction materials: -Become unusable on their own, except glass. Windoor option of reinforced glass becomes available only with CD's. - Normal glass keeps its current functions. The Construction Device: - Starts out inside Engineers' backpacks with 10 units of metal, enough for about 2 walls. Once they take it out, it cannot go back in, like secure briefcases in the custom loudout. - Cannot instantly build floors/walls/airlocks, and does not have a deconstruction setting like the current RCD. - Can hold all current construction materials and build all items respective to each material, with a small delay for each item once it starts constructing them. - Can either hold 50 units 2 or 3 different materials at once and user can switch between desired material through the menu. Or only one material at a time, which would make it more tedious. - When emagged, gains all the functions of the current RCD/Builds contraband items? - Is a bulky-size item that can only fit in your suit storage if you are wearing a hazard vest. - Can be ordered through Cargo for a fairly high amount of points. Maybe with an ID-locked crate as well. - Can be constructed by Research. The current RCD: - Keeps the same name, or becomes the Superior Construction Device. - Keeps all of its current functions, along with the new ones. - When emagged, builds contraband items? - Stays a normal-sized item/Also becomes bulky-size? It would be a huge change for Engineering. Some of it could be taken out, like the emagg function, or being able to have 3 different materials at once. Aside from that, it makes it less immersion-breaking when an entire gas canister or airlock assembly is pooped out from someone. It also stops people whose profession isn't anywhere related to Engineering from building entire walls or metal/plasteel bats out of nowhere with the stupidly easy and quick way we have now, unless they have an CD with them, which should make them look suspicious. It also promotes more departmental cooperation with Engineering, even Atmospherics. I don't think Atmos should start out with CD's.
