[Approved]Zero's Tajaran App.
Mofo1995 replied to ZeroNetAlpha's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I'm a fan of Punished Mikeel "Venom" Ka'best. I'm reminded of another story of a medic who was blown up and filled with shrapnel. Does he harbor a grudge against the Adhomai Liberation Army who took half of his body? Does he feel like their ambush played him like a damn fiddle? He applied to a lot of medical jobs, and Adhomai is currently facing a manpower shortage with a high need for highly trained personnel, such as doctors! Is there any reason he chose NanoTrasen over jobs in his local market? It is worth noting that NanoTrasen would undoubtedly pay far more, which would be the obvious choice, but I'm interested if there are others such as wanting to escape the war. His father wanted him to become a doctor, or at least the story gave me that vibe, so how does he feel about him getting the job? Happy that he's following in his footsteps or disappointed that he's leaving his homeworld behind? Mikeel seems like a well rounded character, and the thread is teeming with praises for your capabilities so I have faith that you can bring good roleplay to the table with a passing understanding of Tajaran lore. His hobbies in studying the physiology of humans and skrell particularly strike me as interesting. But I wouldn't mind hearing about what he likes to do for fun outside of his professional life. Once my questions have been addressed, I'll be more than happy to finish my judgement of this application! -

[Approved]Zero's Tajaran App.

I will be ruling on this tomorrow night, EST. Sorry for the long wait. I see you have some feedback, thats great! It should make this much easier. -
Here's the thing that makes me unwilling to go Laissez-Faire with colors: it makes enforcement nearly impossible. While most people have been good about selecting believable colors for their races, the scenario I don't want is someone in the future going with something bizarre, like an M'sai colored Zhan or even just an off-the wall color and insisting that some set of circumstances makes it acceptable. It would be better to put something in stone even if it's loose rather than just going by a "does it look good enough?" system which is open to exploitation. With the exception of pink cats, players have been good about not going crazy with their Tajara, but I still want race to be quickly and easily identifiable by merit of color. The RGB value deviation should encompass mix-races as they would ultimately look more like the race that they are through some combination of dominant and recessive genes than the one they're mixed with. For instance, if someone has selected M'sai Tajara as their character race, and go walking around with Cinnamon and Black tabby stripes to look like a nobleman and claim mix race as the reason, I would request they select an M'sai color. If the current rules changes I proposed are not acceptable or too strict, that's fine. I can expand them further to allow for more customization. BUT I still want to expand the amount of acceptable colors per race, and I still want there to be rules there so that enforcement isn't arbitrary. So, I repropose the following: RGB deviation range increased from 10 to 30 Fur patterns allowed for all races (At the time of my OP, I had not seen that fur patterns were added! While Njarir are the ones who are supposed to have them most commonly, it's still possible for other Tajara so it's open.) Still waiting on suggestions for new colors for each race! Instead of narrowing it down to one per race, I'll accept as many as I like so long as it doesn't look too much like one of the already existing colors. Black is being added to Zhan since there are already many black Zhan in the community and even on the wiki!
-
Recently it has been brought to my attention that 71% of all Tajara characters on server have a color which does not match any of the approved colors for Tajara found on the wiki. That's A LOT. With this in mind, it is pretty clear that majority of the members of the Tajaran community have some degree of dissatisfaction with the currently approved colors. There's a few ways we could go about this. My initial reaction was to start enforcing the pre-approved colors since the race of a Tajara is supposed to be quickly and easily identifiable by the color of their fur. But I think this might be better served as an opportunity to expand a little bit and toss the community some leeway given the proportion of characters not "in compliance." Here's my plan: I would like suggestions of RGB values to add ONE more approved color to each race. Each character may have a fur color which is within 10 RGB points of one of the approved colors. STRETCH GOAL: I am considering adding one approved color per possible combination of mixed race. I have labelled the last bullet point as a stretch goal since I might get cold feet about it. After all, it would mean adding 6 more colors to the Tajara in addition to the 4 I'm already shooting for, making a grand total of 10 new colors with 6 of them allowing for a character whose race would not be quickly evident.

[Accepted]ParadoxSpace's Tajara Application
Mofo1995 replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Application accepted. If you want a full analysis posted along with the acceptance (as I have done with every other application hitherto) then let me know. Otherwise I'm tired, so this is all I've got to say for ease of my poor, feminine fingers. -
I love it! Without going into too much detail for once (as I often do) I mostly want to comment on how this doesn't beat the reader over the head with "war is hell." Your character has clear ties to Adhomai rather than being completely insulated from it, and by taking an approach which emphasizes how the everyman is put down by the war by economic means rather than always military, you've made this application stand out pleasantly as original and creative. I love that Arenu Mala'Karan's character motivation is to send money back home to his family. The idea of NT contracted cheap labor sending parts of their measly paychecks back home where their money is worth far more is one that I've always liked to think was very common, since it would be unrealistic that everyone moves to Tau Ceti with their whole families, but this is the first time I've seen it manifested in an application. Approved.
-
Raiji K'Sarr is a big dumb Zhan-Khazan who meant well and was bullied, who was shanghai'd into the ALA and escaped to Tau Ceti as a refugee. His parents were former loyalists to the old regime and workers. I like it, he doesn't seem overly torn up and the idea that he's a bit starry eyed and excited about his opportunities in Tau Ceti is a fresh take from grim-dark Tajara. I particularly am fond of how believable he is as a Zhan-Khazan. You did very well to capture how environmental factors lead the Zhan to typically be rather uneducated, poor, and discriminated against without painting it out to be a biological inclination, and even managed to capture the theme of the popularity of the ALA with Zhan, albeit this time less than willingly. Overall, I enjoy your character concept. You seem pleasant, and you haven't really set off any alarm bells or red flags. I hope to see him around the station. Application accepted. EDIT: According to our database, there's no character slot named Jemmy Ehret, and you have no characters associated with your ckey. While I'm still accepting this application due to demonstrated understanding of the lore, I would heavily prefer more honesty in the future. To other readers, this could serve as a reason to deny an application going forward.
-
I like Raiji K'Sarr. His background as an ALA conscripted freedom fighter is already unqiue, and I appreciate the light commentary about, more or less, the Tajara thug life. His backstory is somewhat vague at points, I know the events of his life but not the nature of His being. Its touched on in the later sections how he isnt proud of his time in the ALA, and cares for others. And other traits such as being dumb and poor are present, but what are his likes and dislikes? I also wouldn't mind some minor details about childhood. I take it he had a rough upbringing since it seems he had to fight a lot to get by, which I took to mean he had to be a bit of a thug at times. But what about his family, if he had one? Once these two points are provided, id be glad to make a ruling on this application, but so far its looking good.

[Denied]Aerion111's Tajara Whitelist Request
Mofo1995 replied to aerion111's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Right now I am here I very well might be queer Time to review this. As always, I prefer to start with positives in order to reinforce things I like. Even if the applicant doesn't take it to heart, if others are like me, they read all kinds of whitelist application to see the valuable nuggets of information they can gather from lore team members. The concept of minor nobility by wealth. One thing I've been trying to drive home in Aurora's Tajara lore is the idea that most Njarir-Ahkran were nobility, but that not all of them were. Similarly, the idea that a Hharar or two, or maybe even a legitimized Zhan-Khazan bastard, can be or were nobles too. Of course, unless you live in the New Kingdom of Adhomai, titles of nobility are completely abolished. You said Fahd is a xenoarchaeologist which means he is at least 25 years of age with a doctorate in his required field. The first revolution of Adhomai and the seizing of power by the People's Republic of Adhomai was concluded 27 years ago. This means that Fahd was not alive or was a baby/child while nobility was an actual status to have. If his family was historically minor nobility (which is fine) they would be scorned on modern Adhomai if they didn't side with the Hadii family during their defection in the civil war and subsequent co-opting of the revolution to take power. Now, an easy solution to this is to just metaphor the situation to mean that he's upper middle class when referencing his current status of nobility. His family could have sided with the Hadii's and as a result retained a favorable socioeconomic position in the new world order. A more obscure part of our lore which was only added maybe 4 months ago is Tajaran lifespans. A long time ago a predecessor of mine (and author of the base modern Auroran Tajara lore) wrote that Tajara age about 33% more quickly than humans. This was canonized and their lifespan was dropped accordingly to match this faster maturity and aging. However, NT's employment requirements don't differ by species to reflect this. So, a 200 year old skrell has the same requirement for occupation by NT as an 18 year old Tajara. What I'm getting at here is that most Tajara retire at 60 because at that point they're ridiculously old. If they lived in a more prosperous and liberal society, they would probably retire around age 50 when they really become senior citizens. Signing a 30 year contract (at least at the age of 25) means that your Tajara will likely be only a few years away from death when he finally returns home. I don't say this as a negative side to your application, but it is a notification of something you should be aware of. What's a Temple City? They're not in our lore. Unless you mean Sana Sahira which is a really small city and the home of Adhomai's "Parivara," which is their version of an institutional church for their biggest religion. Or the city of the gods in the second largest religion, which is metaphysical in nature and doesn't exist outside of theology. The People's Republic of Adhomai engages in state sponsored atheism with some light toleration of religious practices. Also not part of our lore. Tajara, as well as the entire Adhomai ecosystem, was born and raised on Adhomai. While more of Adhomai is covered in glacier than earth, it's not most of the planet. Everything is acclimated to the colder weather. The equator to a Tajara on Adhomai is like the equator to a human on Earth. Toasty, warm, the basket of civilization and a great vacation spot. Also, what's a "Keeper?" Something that defends ruins? This also is not a part of our lore. They've been bitter competitors from the start. They were never allied nor friends. Einstein had a monopoly on FTL drives for the longest time, but then NT came about and discovered plasma as a fuel source and bluespace drives as a means for transportation, blowing Einstein Engines out of the water. While they were able to adapt and start making their own bluespace drives, they never were able to regain the same market share they used to have. Again, not a part of our lore. I quoted this in particular, but really the whole motif of being a fully qualified xenoarchaeologist (or Anomalist) who is only allowed to do his actual job every once in awhile is just a bad misconception. Yes, much of the known galaxy looks down on what is easily the least technologically advanced and weakest civilization. However, racism is against NT corporate policy. There are Tajaran congressmen and politicians in the Republic of Biesel's government- the puppet state established by NanoTrasen. If you want your character to work multiple jobs that's fine, but NT isn't a comically racist and over-the-top evil corporation, it's just another business with yet another equal opportunity employment policy. They're not going to take a doctorate wielding scientist and say, "Go grab that pickaxe and do bitch work or you're fired." just because of their race. Everything about this seems arbitrary and contrived, and not really fitting of the narrative behind NanoTrasen. Sure they import cheap labor, so Fahd would obviously be paid less, but they're not going to hold assets down in lower positions for the lulz. It's one thing for a miner to regularly destroy relics while just mining. Afterall, it's just a digsite for ores and they're under no obligation to dig up relics. However, no business worth its salt is going to routinely employ and overlook a trained archaeologist who does the same. I understand the distinction being made here between ancient artifacts and more contemporary artifacts, but how would you even know the difference unless you had already fully excavated it? Swords and spears are still made to this day, there's no way to tell an ancient one from a contemporary unless it was dug up first so its details could be examined. There really isn't a reason for the same excavation training to be magically bad with more contemporary items which tend to be sturdier and made of more advanced materials than with older items which are more likely to be brittle and weak. And there's no reason for the largest corporation in the known universe to be comically inept and senselessly discriminatory to the point where they lost "priceless artifacts." From a repeat offender. Here's a list of NanoTrasen stations and vessels which exist in our lore: https://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Nanotrasen_Corporation Lastly, the entire section about criminality. While characters with criminal history exist easily, known recurring criminals are not just given a free pass. If I tell my employer that I'll sign an agreement to work 30 years for less than they usually pay people, and then routinely commit crimes, gather some sticky fingers, act adversarial with anyone who gives any orders, and regularly break priceless artifacts, nothing is going to stop them from just dropping me as an employee. Especially when there's another species with a population some 50x larger than mine which is apparently so much more valuable and entrusted. No corporation is going to routinely take losses to their assets with a troublesome and uncooperative worker who is extremely replaceable just because they pay them less for their time and have a long reaching contract. The fact that your character is a translation from some other lore sticks out like a sore thumb. I can't find a single identifiable part of his backstory which is unique to Aurora's lore, and in fact, it seems to be nearly entirely comprised of another server's lore. While some themes which are relatively universal among many SS13 servers are present (Tajara being cheap labor), even the execution of these themes fails to appropriately translate from wherever they came from to our own narrative. While I don't expect anyone in the world to read the mounds of fluff I put up on the wiki, I do at least expect applicants to be familiar with the parts relevant to their character. Fahd Zaki just isn't of the Aurora universe as his backstory currently stands. While you're more than free to edit his history following some research of our lore and adjustments to my criticisms, I would likewise understand if this character you have played for a long while isn't something you're willing to compromise on. I am afraid I will have to deny this application, but you're welcome to reapply in the future if you're interested. Naturally, I highly recommend that you play on the server more. While those sweet sweet +1's likely would not have salvaged this application because of the irreconcilable differences in lore, playtime is an excellent way to gain an in-depth understanding of our story through osmosis and experience to more organically construct a stronger application. Even if you never made any friends or got any feedback, you could obtain a strong foundation for future applications. Application denied. -
[Denied]Aerion111's Tajara Whitelist Request

I have good news and bad news. The good news it that I've read everything that's not in the paste bin. The bad news is that there's more content than I had expected here, and I'd really rather not leave any stones unturned when considering an application. If I pass this, then I naturally want to be aware of the full deal that I'm signing off on. So, I would like two more days to carefully consider this application and to read and analyze the full backstory. In the meantime, here's what you can do to hedge your bets and increase your chances of getting accepted: Get feedback! This right here is usually a very large red flag when processing any application. In the interim of while I'm sifting through the backstory, I strongly encourage you to build a presence on the server with another character. Input from your new Auroran peers and familiarity with the community via a working understanding of Auroran Tajara by on-server playtime and experience can take most applications and strengthen them beyond what they might normally be otherwise. While imported characters certainly aren't forbidden in any way shape or form, trying to hop in wholesale as an imported character is an uphill battle without solid third party feedback vouching for your versatility. That doesn't necessarily mean your application is below standards, but it is a strong issue with it. I'll be back on Friday night (Eastern Daylight Time). Sorry again for the delay! -

While aversion to literature is an aspect of Tajara lore, it's forgiveable to have characters who enjoy books. Everything seems to check out here, I've really come around to the Samuel Ibn Najjar character concept and hope to see you on the station some time. Application accepted. -

Mofo1995 replied to Wiebman's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I'm a bit disappointed this application started off not using a paragraph to answer the first two questions as they request, but as usual, there's not terribly much weight on those questions. However, once again, I like that you've focused moreso on the differences in roleplaying them rather than pure mechanical differences, and it's also a huge plus that you haven't fixated on their feline aesthetic at all. It gives me a glimpse into the purity of your intentions to play the race and leaves me with the impression that it's not for purposes of fursona-ry. Now, onto the backstory. I like that you've included that he's coincidentally a noble as well as a Njarir. It's the first time in an application that I've seen a distinction between the race and the social class, which I never intended to be mutually inclusive. Most Njarir are nobles, but not all of them. Heck, even not all nobles are Njarir as indicated by a certain bastard child, Field-Marshal Rrhazhal Zarkradar'Akhan, who is one of the most powerful people in the traditionalist NKA. This one little detail you've included pleases me greatly. It's worth noting though that Nobility in the PRA aren't really a thing anymore. There has been a legal abolition of social classes by the Party, and while party members are de facto a higher class, labelling oneself as a noble is extreme taboo. Treason, even. How did the noble Ibn Najjar family survive the brutal communist revolution which ended a few decades prior? It's here that I have a few suggestions to flesh out some details while fitting perfectly into the narrative. Perhaps the Ibn Najjar family sided with the Hadii family when they defected to the rebel's side during the revolution, saving themselves a comfortable spot in the aftermath of the revolution. Samuel's parents could likely be some mid-level bureaucrats working in the PRAs seat of power as comfortable living, card-carrying party members. Other than the question of heritage and parentage, Samuel's backstory checks out. A former soldier (likely officer given his upbringing, education, and heritage) who wanted to live a quiet life, but decided rural bumpkin life wasn't for him. The inclusion of the rural side of Adhomai was also a nice touch as majority of the planet's population are still agricultural peasants. One last thing I really enjoyed about this application was the complete lack of a grimdark aesthetic. Samuel grew up a Njarir - the wealthiest and typically best off race - in the city which is the wealthiest on the planet and the seat of power for the world's strongest faction, and all around seems to have a good attitude. While he surely has some war stories, I like that he seems to be happy and well off as is befitting his undoubtedly comfortable position. A few things I want to know before I decide on this application are this: 1. (Reiterated from above) How did his family get by the first revolution? 2. (Reiterated from above) What does Samuel's parents do for a living? 3. Samuel seems to have a remarkable and diligent work ethic, but what does he enjoy outside of work? What are his hobbies? 4. What are his hopes, dreams, and ambitions? 5.) How does his family feel about him and his life's activities so far? Once these are answered, I'll be glad to make a decision. -

Hello! I just wanted to come in and let you know that I will be passing judgement on this tomorrow. This application is a hard one to make a decision on and I want to sleep on it and think about it before providing full feedback. In the intervening hours, see about getting more feedback as it makes my job far easier. -

Hello! I will be providing feedback for this application tomorrow after I return from work (which will be a bit late at night on the American east coast). In the intervening 24 hours or so, you should try your best to accumulate as much feedback from other players as possible, as feedback means a world of difference to me when reviewing an application. -
I spilled Pepsi on my laptop and will be completely unavailable until Friday morning/Saturday afternoon when I go buy a replacement after my payday. This post is coming from a Carnegie Library computer. See you all this weekend!

Video of Dancing PRA Officer Goes Viral 10.04.2459 A human soldier re-enacting the ending of the titular dance, one of many spin-offs following its popularity. Five days ago on "SpaceTube", a popular video streaming website on the galactic internet, Lieutenant Nrrazhul Mrravorich's now famous dance video was posted from the front line outside of Orul. Since then the video has accumulated over a billion views and has spawned many popular spinoffs. The dance is comprised of Lt. Mrravorich performing a traditional Tajaran Mlazkov dance before pirouetting and grabbing at himself while reaching into the air. The "Tajara Dance" has become a sensation in human space with personalities such as famous urban musician "Two Ceti" featuring his own rendition of the dance in a music video released yesterday. Social media websites have likewise taken to it. Minister of External Affairs, Akmed Hrrajalturr, has since come out in support of the dance's popularity. His recent press release states, "Since 'The Tajara Dance' has gained widespread popularity, maybe now humans will see that the People's Republic is not the cold and grim place that foreign media paints it out to be. Tajara can laugh and have fun too." Recent polls have shown that approval of President Hadii by humans in Sol has raised to nearly 62%. President Hadii's approval rating at home has raised from 86% to 93%. The dance is not without controversy however, as many have been quick to point out the problematic nature of the grabbing portion at the end- the very part which seems to entertain foreigners the most. One concerned citizen, Grreta Vlrarorr, voiced her concerns to the Chronicle. "She just doesn't think this is the type of thing their children should be seeing when they browse the internet," she said. "The Ministry of Internal Affairs should do better to control the content her children may see, or else they could become humanized, or worse, a homosexual." The Minister of Interior Affairs with President Hadii's blessing has extended the reach of Adhomai's firewall, however the "Tajara Dance" itself has been left available for users in Tajaran space to view.

Hello! I've come to pass the time while my laundry is finished review your application. Formality Questions: As usual, the first two questions are not really worth all that much talking about unless exceptional answers have been provided for them, but your answers are neither exceptionally bad nor good. They are however above average due to your focus on roleplay qualities in what makes playing them different rather than mechanical qualities. This is always pleasing and typically shows better intentions in motivations to play the race. It also smooths out some of my fears in the backstory which I will address when the time comes. Backstory: Izdir M'ranma grew up in a mining town in the northern Rhazar Mountain Range, currently a front line between the PRA and ALA. Foreign investment from humans economically vitalized the village in the interwar period and improved quality of life with modest introductions of new technologies. M'ranma lived a life of hard labor but after the breakout of the war, her village was occupied by the Grand People's Army and people accused of collaboration with the ALA. Later, it was all destroyed in a confrontation between the two factions leaving her with nothing but to escape to foreign worlds through the very company that likely invested in her village in the first place, escaping the intense persecution. So far, I have no issues with this backstory and it actually lightly reminds me of my own character's backstory in some respects, geographically their villages are even not terribly far away. Where I begin to worry is here: Specifically, "welcomed easily into the ranks" and "ready to step up and protect others at a moment's notice." The first is unlikely as Zhan are doubled dipped as far as discrimination goes, both for slanderous media from their own species as well as for Tajara in general being viewed lowly. Though, this is a nitpick on one word, because if the word "easily" was removed I'd have no problem with it, so let's not dwell on it too much. The second part, "ready to step up and protect others at a moment's notice." is concerning as it is typically an indicator of using a justice-oriented and heroic character as an excuse to secure valids and powergame antags. This is where your responses for what makes roleplaying the race different do well to assuage my fears as you didn't focus on the mechanical advantages of playing a Tajara, let alone a Zhan. So long as you do not use your character backstory and traits in this application as an excuse to be abnormally cruel and uncompliant with antagonists and their gimmicks (IE, to secure valids) then this shouldn't be a problem. And judging by your head of staff application, others seem to attest that this isn't in the cards for your play style. What do you like about this character?: You mispelled your own character's name, but funnily enough, you did it in a way which sounds similar to our head admin, Itzal. Izdal. I can't rag on you too hard for this as I once mispelled one of my character's name so much that his name changed since everyone similarly only remembered the mispelled version. How would you rate your role-playing ability?: I put no weight on this question and have no idea why it's on the application format. I would've preferred if you could've gotten feedback on this application in addition to your head of staff application, as it seems many people think highly of you, as it was weighted much less when considering this application as feedback for a good head of staff is not the same for feedback for a good Tajara. However, I believe this application meets my standards for acceptance. Application accepted.

[Denied]Pauls4eva's Tajara App 2
Mofo1995 replied to Pauls4eva's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
It's been three days, so time for a review of the material- what little of it there is. Firstly, let's start with the good parts of your application. I really enjoy your enthusiasm and I take compliments to the depth of the lore and my abilities as a writer to heart. So I appreciate that! A gas station explosion (presumably) on Adhomai is a very interesting take on things, as gas stations certainly exist on Adhomai despite all the inclinations of the planet tending to apply a vector to using older robust technologies as opposed to newer and less reliable ones. But now we must move onto the less than admirable qualities of this application. You said you come from a low RPish area, so it's understandable why this application is a bit bear bones. Higher RP environments tend to enforce higher standards and demand adherence to formalities such as the length of whitelist applications. What I mean to say is that, I don't really need a full paragraph telling me why someone wants to play a Tajara and what's different about Tajara from other species in every application, particularly if it's going to be the same answers as every other application. However, even with that said, what few sentences which might supplant an unnecessary full paragraph need to have enough substance to at least clear the low bar set on those questions, and: isn't a proper substitute even when paired with "They have my favorite lore on the server." Likewise: Isn't a strong enough answer to justify not leaving a full paragraph response. While I appreciate the mention and understanding of the fact that Tajara are designed to face racism from other more technologically advanced species, this really didn't provide me with a satisfactory explanation of the biological, cultural, and societal differences between Tajara and other species. Here is the spot where you're supposed to demonstrate for me that you understand the differences, and while I appreciate that only 50% of it focuses on mechanical differences, I need more than this to truly buy that you really make the distinction. Onto the backstory of Muir' Jkar, firstly, where is he from? As far as this application is concerned, he was born in Anytown, USA. We currently have a rule in effect that all Tajara whitelist applications must feature a Tajaran character who was born on Adhomai, a planet currently embroiled in its second world war after a violent three way conflict broke out a decade ago, claiming millions of lives since then. And all of this a mere two decades or so after the planet's first world war which saw the death of over 60 million Tajara. That isn't to say that the setting is grimdark, in fact I heavily prefer when people find creative ways to have Tajara who just weathered the situation well or lived doing something outside of fighting, however the war has a tangible effect on all Tajara in some larger or lesser degree. In this backstory, I don't see it at all. Someone in the middle of Adhomai, it's really unlikely that Muir' Jkar would just suddenly learn of a 60 person maximum occupancy space station in some far flung corner of space away from himself. I appreciate the childish wonder of enjoying digging in one's backyard growing into becoming their lifetime profession of archaeology, I think it's the strongest part of your application, but it comes off as more of a simplistic hand-wavey justification rather than a properly fleshed out character considering your character's only other trait in the whole world is "lost his legs in a gas station explosion." A much more likely backstory is that Muir' Jkar studied xenoarchaeology on Adhomai and learned that NanoTrasen had openings for Xenoarcaheology studies, joining up with them and getting assigned to the NSS Exodus. Another item which has been addressed by others in this thread is that your character needs to be 25 years or older to be a xenoarcaheologist and to have a doctorate in the field. It's unclear how old Muir is based on this application, but supposing he's 23, he's too young. This section is usually stupid anyways, and I chuckled when I read this. The character is so lacking in backstory, personality, and life events that "he aint got no legs" is essentially his defining trait. What else is there to like? He aint got no legs. That's Muir' Jkar. I don't mean to come off as harsh, I think this has potential, it's just that this application is so barebones that I cannot accept it. You need to put meat on this bones, flesh it out, fatten it up. Give me a story, showcase your knowledge of Tajaran lore for me. The most important function of a whitelist application is to communicate through example to the lore overseer that you have a proper understanding of the species' lore and a willingness to adhere to narrative.
