  1. Hello! The time has come for me to give you some feedback. In addition to feedback, there were some things which I wanted clarification on. I like the themes here. He's born just after the revolution ended, and the revolutionary spirit is still strong and living on in every facet of Tajaran society, at all points upturning traditions and trying to redefine themselves as a species. This part is a bit iffy. Zhan telling each other "We're oppressed" is a-okay, because racial tensions are really high on Adhomai, especially after the revolution when clear racial lines continued to remain. BUT the mass exploitation by human corporations didn't begin quite yet, at least not visibly. If this is your character's teenage years, what would be going on now is that Al-Mari Hadii is at the helm of the People's Republic of Adhomai, and is giving advantageous trade deals to NanoTrasen for the export of Tajaran goods off-planet in exchange for the import of modern technology. It wasn't until his assassination in 2451 and the takeover of the government by Malik Hadii (his younger brother) that the PRA had a change of pace and started exporting massive amounts of Tajara off planet as cheap labor to NanoTrasen. This is when the ALA attempted a coup (which is still pending). Despite possible time inconsistency issues, the sentiments of human exploitation did exist prior to the second revolution, and especially when the second revolution blasted off, this was certainly part of the ALA plank for their right to rule: "Our government whores us out to humans." It's not very clear here how Quizosa was cut off from the rest of Adhomai. Is this the year 2451 and the second revolution broke out? Is his village now behind ALA lines on the Rasn'rr continent, and therefore cutoff from all the cities? Just pushing for some clarification here. I find it somewhat dubious that his parents would want him to go to NCCE and then go off-world and work for NT. It seems to be a contradictory position to the former, that is, teaching about how terrible the PRA is and how exploitative NT is. BUT I understand that our game takes place on an NT space station in Tau Ceti, and not in Nal'Tor on Adhomai, so some justification has to exist for him to get to NT. So I provide a suggestion, perhaps they want him to get educated and serve a work term at NT so that one day he can return and be a competent engineer for the ALA? This is the first ALA character I will have seen since the last Tajara overseer left, so I certainly don't want to push away from or make it untenable for your character to have originated from the ALA, it's one of the strong points of this app for sure. This isn't entirely necessary, unless he absolutely did not want his actual identity to be known. The PRA claims that all Tajara, no matter where they are, are Republican citizens. All Mari would've of have to of done was to show up and say that he was fleeing the ALA or anything along the lines of trying to "return" to the PRA, and they would've taken him. Unless he was a known or suspected ALA fighter, they would've accepted him. And even then they're open despite distrusting to defectors. All in all, fake documents and such are unnecessary, especially considering he appears to have used his birth name for employment at NanoTrasen. NCCE is pratically "NT college on Adhomai," so it's appropriate that he'd be sent off to work on Adhomai. The rebel press is an interesting take on student life, and I like that you've underscored the danger in it. How do you think Mari will act on station in relation to other Tajara? What about in relation to his non-Tajara coworkers? What will his personality and attitude on station be like? Will he be able to handle, say, corporate regulations and security/non-Tajara/non-ALA Tajara giving him orders or bossing him around?
  2. Heyo! Just popping in to tell you I will be leaving my thoughts and feedback in another three days, another three day extension. While feedback isn't absolutely 100% required, it makes determining a whitelist application extremely easier to do and can really put some backbone into it. I'll be back on 22 December to read through and give you all my thoughts and see where we go from there.
  3. Dear diary, this is what I did this week: Completed the Pre-Sol Alliance Credit Currency section of the Adhomai Economy lore page, and began to discuss the adoption of the Credit Added a picture of a battleship to the Adhomai's navies section of the military structures page that Jackboot recommended to me, credits are in the picture's file but I need to add them to the page still. Loow and I have been putting together a recurring event! We just have to make sure the poses are strong. Fouchi, by Lorenzo Mattottis.

    I'm sorry.

One time, I invited everyone to the holodeck for a tech demo with a Phazon that had a grav catapult and an RCD. I wasn't able to get the melee working because I didn't realize I had to "change damage type" to enable it. THe grav catapult kept selecting then for flinging, so I switching to the RCD and started clicking on them like mad. One misclick later in my frustrated clicking frenzy, 15 people on the holodeck were hitting the deck as the room vented to space from the deconstructed floor. Long story short, sometimes we accidentally kill everyone. It happens. As far as snowflakes go, don't sweat it so long as it isn't over the top. Fraser scored 42 on the Mary Sue test, higher than anyone else I know, and for some reason people still like him.
  5. Heya! You don't seem to have a lot of feedback on your app, I'm going to give you a three day extension before I leave feedback of my own. I strongly encourage you to advertise your app on the server once around and to be active so other players can come to know you and leave me with information on what you're like. The more feedback, the better!
  6. Dear diary, this past week I: Added more content to the Tajaran Economy page Helped Jackboot with him creating his Unathi navbox Made an expansion of the Ma'ta'ke religion! Now it's a pantheon of mythological gods, influenced by Greek mythology in themes but not in style. Mata'ke himself is at the head of the pantheon. Not my most active week, but I'm particularly overjoyed about two two pieces of Tajara work I managed to do.
  7. Okay, I've read through your response and carefully considered it. I believe that you are going to make a healthy addition to the Tajaran community. Application accepted
  8. Thanks for responding! I'm a bit busy today, but you can 100% expect me to respond tomorrow, just wanted you to know this isn't forgotten/neglected.
  9. BYOND Key: MyMofolcoptergoesSUISUISUISUISUISUI Character Names: Isiah "Assman" Fraser, Arrkady "If they're gay they came from Bay" Tsyrrkunov, Shkor-Dyet "Real Gangsta Squigga" Dom'Pesh Species you are applying to play: Vox What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Blurple Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: AM I BEING DETAINED? Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I don't. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They're p cool with feathers n shit. Character Name: Birdo Chirpydoo Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Birdo Chirpydoo was special even from the moment he was born... his parents knew he was destined for greatness as the first vox doctor-security offier-engineer-scientist-captain. As he was hatched from his Vox egg he immediately flew to planet Vegeta where Frieza, Cell, Brolly, AND Hercule had teamed up against the entire Saiyan race, Shadow and Sonic the hedgehogs, and Dr. Who. Quickly he came into combat alongside Goku and Shadow, who all together fire a HyperVox-O saiyain hedgehog beam to defeat Cell and Frieza. Brolly and Hercule escaped after killing Dr. Who and taking his TARDIS, with the alliance of super friends going after him. However, Birdo had to stay behind, as he had fallen in love with a human with pink long curly hair who worked as a nurse aboard a research station. Birdo Chirpydoo began working on the NSS Aurora, and quickly was found to be perfectly infallible at every single job on the station, quickly earning him commendations from Miranda Trasen herself and earning him the position of Co-CEO of NanoTrasen. Given his gargantuan intellect, he handles his CEO duties with ease and still prefers to work aboard the station as whichever job he feels on a given day. What do you like about this character? How would you rate your role-playing ability? e/10 Notes: this is my first time coming to Aurora, I'm new, so pls consider my app
  10. Hello, it's been three days so I'm going to swoop in and give my thoughts. Firstly, Tajara are by far the most played alien race on station, the idea that you don't seem to get the chance to play with them much sounds bizarre. At least on the surface level. I'd argue there is a current issue of Tajara players being exclusive, using on Siik'maas, banding together, and being condescending. Do you think Hadassah Al-Hazmi will be able to socialize with others and avoid exclusion without going to the other side of the spectrum and becoming too human? Hive actually did this not me- small knit-pick. Good description, but I think it's important to changed modernized to modernizing, as the same Tajara which might receive highly advanced futuristic space medicine from a humanitarian aid hospital down the road might also be working an antiquated farming plot with a hand scythe. There is a distinct juxtaposition of modernity and the old world present in society. That said, the rest of this is very finely put and true. The goal of the NKA is to establish a constitutional Monarchy with a parliament rather than an enlightened monarchy or any sort of benevolent absolutism. There are factions in the NKA which want to see the king take a role of more power within the NKA, as well as factions which want to see Parliament get more power, but as it currently stands the power is pretty evenly divided between the two. This is referred to as the struggles between the military and the civilians on the wiki, as veterans and current servicemen are more pro-king while your average non-combatant civilian is more pro-Parliament. I don't have many more comments about the character's backstory, other than we have a really good idea of what she is, but no who she is. There's a lot of talk about her profession, her ideology, her education, and her political orientations, but we don't have much in the way of hobbies, personality, or even personal life. However, the backstory does demonstrate extremely well knowledge of the lore, even go as far as to cite news articles throughout. That said, I wouldn't mind having a few traits, quirks, and hobbies thrown out there for me to get a better idea of who this character is. As with all other Tajaran applications I've reviewed, I must once again that being unique or a snowflake does not automatically mean being bad. With the exception of Poslan there are surprisingly few cripple Tajara which is strange considering the massive three-way world war going on back home. There's something probably to be said about modern medicine, but there's also something to be said about the poor medical care people from the NKA would receive. "Having to rely on people she might consider enemies in order to function in her job is a reality I'd enjoy her to have as she starts to develop." There's a surprising lack of argument, disagreement, and especially violence on station despite the fact that some people might find themselves working alongside ex-soldiers who might've killed their family, and even though some factions advocate genocide against others. I'm not saying Tajara players should be at each others throats all day every day, clawing each other and getting thrown in the brig every round- but they should be more at odds. How do you feel Hadassah will interact with other Tajara knowing they could have served on the very frontline which threatens to snuff out her nation? Do you think it'll come off more as biting her tongue, or getting along in species solidarity? I'll await a response before delivering my verdict, but you've received a lot of good feedback on your roleplaying abilities.
  11. I welcome to people to my rice field. Mother fucker.
  12. Part Four: The Shevarrditsa Revolt is now up in its entirety, admittedly a month later than I had intended. The content started getting too thick, Part Five: Messa's Tears is a break-off of content that was supposed to be in part four before it started getting too long. Part three is still being edited, so don't expect any part 6 until I finished editing part three and writing part five. EDIT: Feedback (Especially criticism!) is always appreciated!
  13. Your characters are missed.
  14. The best mashed potatoes are fluffy and soft, don't forget to add a good helping of sour cream when you mix then.
  15. I always bake my potatoes with the skins on, that's just the only way to do it if you ask me. But when I boil them I always skin them first, and then the potato skins are typically good for frying and salting to make a light (unhealthy) snack. I store-buy my fries for frying since my fries always come out horribly deformed when I cut them up myself.
  16. You... You cook? If you call boiling potatoes with the skins still on them and burning them cooking >
  17. Hello my pretties. Finished the education section, though the bossman pointed out a grammatical typo I forgot to fix Moved all Tajaran Ethnicity lore to its very own page, which cut down on a ridiculous amount of information on the main page, left a summary in their place. There's a link to the new page in the ethnicity section, as well as a link in the navbox and with the Tajara wiki page category. Continued the plot arc, the NKA is spared certain doom... for now. Will the PRA be able to suppress the waves of insurrection? Got some neat Battalion composition and structures diagrams from Complete Garbage! They'll go up in the military structures section when I figure out where and how I want to put them on there. Added a population number to the Tajara! Unfortunately, this puts a cap on the total number of Tajaran characters, we may have to start rationing out character slots and new whitelists once we start approaching 5.25 billion Tajaran characters. Continued work on Tajaran economy page, which is where the pre-credit currency is going to be featured. So far only about two sentences are on the page itself, but you can all look forward to seeing it! Removed WIP tag from Tajaran Military Structures page.
  18. Week of Terror Across Adhomai: ALA Terrorists Rise Up! 23.11.2458 For one long week, the staff of the Adhomai Chronicle was held under threat of death by ALA gunmen who stormed our headquarters here in Nal'Tor. Our television broadcasting services for the duration of the week was used as a center for terrorist propaganda to coordinate ruthless and bloodthirsty elements across the planet to carry out gross war crimes and widespread murder. Several brave and noble journalists here were slain for noncompliance, and others were able to escape, however most were locked into closets and kept as hostages. The situation came to a head after members of the 2nd Republican Guard's Division was deployed to storm the building and close the lying mouths of the terrorists merely hours ago. The plight of the Adhomai Chronicle's staff, however, is secondary to events across all of Adhomai. In one large coordinated assault beginning at 22:00 hours on the 17th of November, ALA terror cells all across the ALA have risen up and begun a rape and plunder of the noble Tajaran people which is hitherto unprecedented in our history. The traitorous Adhomai Liberation Army has made gains on every front as riots and sabotage of our Republican infrastructure had crippled our army. After this dark week in which villages were burned, families were slaughtered, and mosques pillaged, the Republican Army was able to pull back and garrison our cities putting down the chaotic revolts. It is these heroes who save the PRA and maintain the peace and stability of our great nation. The Ha'rrons who seek to overthrow our proper and popular government of the people will be made to pay. No amount of Nav'twir pelts, nor Sol Alliance Credits will suffice. The life of every one of our loyal and noble citizens is worth more than every single traitor and rebel, and every last rebel will be put to the sword. Let this serve as a sobering reminder that we cannot harbor any sympathy for these violent- and frankly evil- savage killers. We cannot abide them or their dark intentions in any form. The Adhomai Chronicle Staff would like to wish its following deceased, and requests everyone pray for them to enter Messa's Forever: A. Talkanarr - Executive v. Illyanovich - Executive R. Ahnnedinijad - Executive G. Rrhakaslav - Television Anchor O. Has'mavir - Meteorologist L. Bronstein - Journalist V. Ulyanov - Journalist I. Dzhugashvili - Journalist H. Apfelbaum - Journalist A. Bubnov - Journalist L. Rozenfeld - Journalist G. Brilliant - Journalist J. Mrrazhughran - Secretary E. Amir - Secretary T. Al-Afdal - Janitor May they rest in peace. All citizens please remain indoors after dark as fighting still remains in the streets. Persons found outside at night will be assumed part of the rebels and shot.
  19. Братья Карамзовы. Я люблю русскую литиратуру, но я не очень хорошо понимаю русский язык. Так, я прочитал русские книги по-англиски.
  20. Correct. As in everything you said in that post. I just wanted to single out the funniest part of it.
  21. I don't bother to read a single word and give out +1's for promises of ERP. It's netted me quite a few steamy sessions by now. But in reality, I do read them, though they only get a really thorough close-up read if I see something I don't like. I always find the OOC responsibilities question to be the most interesting as far as answers go.
  22. Republican Army Routs in Northern Harr'masir 18.11.2458 Today is a historic day for the New Kingdom of Adhomai as after nearly two weeks of intense fighting, all across the Northern Harr'masir forces of the People's Republic of Adhomai are in full retreat from the Imperial Adhomian Army. The event came as a shock to commanders of the armed forces who were preparing for a last stand in both the capital at Kaltir and the city of Barj'ar. At approximately 9:00 hours today, the Rasn'rr Expeditionary force rendezvoused with the fifth Jabrut Almumalik at Miaran'mir which was freshly reinforced with volunteers from around the galaxy. After three long hours of decisive coordination, these forces embarked to effect the largest amphibious attack in known Tajaran history. These forces landed behind enemy lines in the bay area some versts south of Barj'ar where the Republican Army was unprepared and quickly began the raiding of enemy rear units. The Royal Navy provided fire support, shelling the enemy at the front line distracting them from the flanking Imperial troops. Over 200 Republican artillery pieces were destroyed as the disembarked Imperial Army units moved to encircle the enemy positions at the outskirts of Barj'ar. After seven hours of intense fighting, forces of the Republican Army were able to breakout and retreat southward taking heavy casualties in the process. Shortly after the breakout, People's Republic forces likewise withdrew from the approach to Kaltir's outskirts very rapidly, however they were not initially given chase as Field-Marhsal Zarkradar'Akhan feared an enemy trap. All over the front, Imperial forces are liberating lands which they have lost in the previous weeks and commanders are optimistic about being able to finally liberate Dymtris from occupation. The King has been quick to shower praise upon the troops with particular thanks to the volunteer Alam'ardii which provided crucial manpower to the counter-offensive on the west coast. The Royal Telegraph staff was able to meet many volunteers in Miran'mir prior to the offensive such as: Brett Jackson, an idealist young human who sympathized with our cause serving in the infantry as a rifleman. Guskov Andrei, a Tajaran bartender doing his duty to his people in an infantry company as a radio operator. Jared Marsh, a retired Sol Marine now working in an artillery company as a gun loader. And Khazarir Mrakiizar, an enthusiastic Tajaran expatriate serving in the infantry as a rifleman. All of the major commanders are expected to meet later today to plan a new strategy going ahead as the Republican retreat has surprised officers on the Kaltir front who believed themselves to be at a disadvantage, however officers on the Barj'ar front have been quick to claim their victory as the salvation of the Kingdom of Adhomai. Field-Marshal Zarkradar'Akhan has been quick to caution the surging optimism, saying, "This has been a great victory for the Kingdom and whether they think so or not, for Tajara everywhere. The People's Republic may have retreated for now, but the war is far from over." The Royal Telegraph staff would like to remind everyone again to subscribe to the Royal Telegraph as well as to volunteer for service in the New Kingdom. Only with this continued support can we emerge victorious.
  23. EMERGENCY BROADCASTING SYSTEM: PLEASE STANDBY 17.11.2458 THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC EMERGENCY BROADCASTING SYSTEM. ALL CITIZENS PLEASE STANDBY. A STRICT CURFEW IS NOW IN EFFECT, ALL VIOLATORS ARE AT RISK OF BEING SHOT. STAY IN YOUR HOMES. REPEAT. THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC EMERGENCY BROADCASTING SYSTEM. ALL CITIZENS PLEASE STANDBY. A STRICT CURFEW IS NOW IN EFFECT, ALL VIOLATORS ARE AT RISK OF BEING SHOT. STAY IN YOUR HOMES.
  24. I don't really know Kyle Lombard, however I know TequilaJoe very well through their role play as Jade Sawyer (now retired) and Monique Byrd. Jade Sawyer was a shy and timid roboticist would wrote an awesome poem about a Durand for a poetry contest Shkor-Dyet once held, and Monique is the glorious leader of the Poncho brigade who sometimes reminds me of Haruhi Suzumiya and her SOS Brigade. Anyways, in the time I've had to role play alongside TequilaJoe, I'm firmly convinced in their ability to role play beyond mere competency but in a profound way which impacts the players they interact with. There's no glaring issue ms with Kyles back story and I'm fond of your answers about role play and the responsibilities of a head of staff. So, if it wasn't clear, this application has my beaming endorsement.
