Grant Steele. No, I'm not throwing Avery to the wolves.

Any of you into them? I've noticed we have a distinct lack of that here, which is a shame. I'm willing to GM one, or just join up if anyone is planning on doing one. Thoughts? For reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_role-playing_games_by_genre

I have to agree, for the most part. This would give me some incentive to take a head role instead of instantly noping away and observing/taking up a cyborg slot.

BYOND Key: Doomberg Character Names: Avery Dawkins, Destiny, William Stamos, Gavin Vogel How long have you been playing on Aurora: No clue. Four months? Five? Less, more? Time flies, or it doesn’t. I’m terrible at keeping track. Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Diona exempt): It’s an IPC! Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I’ve read what little we have, plus what Bay’s wiki has. As stated before, we’re tragically lacking in the IPC lore department at the moment. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I’d like to play as an IPC because I think it would be interesting for my synthetic character to be granted a greater degree of freedom, which would enable it to interact with the crew without necessarily being restricted to a fixed set of laws. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: In my opinion, IPC is perhaps the farthest race from humans similarity-wise, being entirely synthetic. They do not breathe or require oxygen to survive. They “recharge” by interacting with APCs, while the other races require food and drink for sustenance. Instead of needing the medical department when injured, they need a roboticist’s attention for any repairs. Lastly, their thought process is different from that of your average human being. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? I’ve always enjoyed the idea of artificial intelligences gaining “true” sentience and freedom, and I’d like a chance to RP that out. Character Name: Destiny Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Destiny was originally conceived by Nanotrasen’s research division as a primitive prototype of a personal companion intelligence, designed to assist its various employees in their duties, especially those expected to remain in long periods of isolation. However, with the advent of modern personal AI devices along with their wide array of available personalities, Destiny quickly found itself becoming obsolete. Despite these initial setbacks, Destiny was eventually repurposed as a standard intelligence for an android chassis, having two additional separate versions created: one was to be used as a station AI, and the other as a pAI personality. It served Nanotrasen on many of its stations, mainly as a security-class android, before being deactivated and placed under suspension pending further development for an extended period of time. Following a complete overhaul, Destiny was transferred to the NSS Aurora’s net, where it was promptly selected and placed into a positronic brain to continue its duties as a station android. Turning out to be both well-liked and somewhat pitied by the NSS Aurora’s crew, Destiny was eventually able to pay for its production cost while also purchasing freedom in the form of an Integrated Positronic Chassis, its only set restriction being to remain in the company’s service for an indefinite period of time. How would you rate your role-playing ability? “Experienced”, as stated in my previous application. I’m not a particularly artsy, creative or imaginative person, but I’ve done this for long enough to perform well. Notes: I might have butchered lore a bit? I don’t know. Tell me if I have. Also, apologies if this is a tad short. It might be.

Gideon scratches his head, furrowing his brow as if struggling to remember something. "I apologize, I don't know what came over me. You've wronged no one."
-
Gideon taps his sheathed sword's hilt briefly, laying a hand on O'Connor's shoulder. "Perhaps she is to be judged, but you will not be the one to judge her. Right now, you need to accept the fact that we need her. You needn't like it."
-
Gideon helps himself to a sword and a gunpowder pistol, shoving them into his empty sheath and holster respectively. "Much better, I must say. Now that we are appropriately armed, perhaps further exploration would be in order - the nearby temple, specifically.
-
Gideon takes the time to dust off his clothing, seeming entirely unaffected by the outburst. "In any case, the name's Gideon. I am... I was-... I don't recall. While I'd like to stay here and talk more, I'd rather not have those two snatch /all/ the weapons from over there, hmm?". With that, he heads off after Cain, to the smith's.
-
Gideon watches the creature depart before surveying his surroundings carefully. He lets Alexis get over to the nearest shade, scratching his chin. "This looks empty enough. I say we head for the blacksmith's first of all. I don't like to go exploring without the feeling of steel in my hands."
-
Gideon barrels through the nearest building's door without a second though, Alexis in tow.
-
Gideon grasps Alexis's hand and immediately bolts off eastward, practically dragging the woman behind him.
-
Gideon shakes his head at the shadowy figure. "We can't very well wait for nightfall. Whatever that thing is, I wholeheartedly doubt that we'll have any fighting chance against it empty handed.". He steps over to Alexis, offering a hand. "Come, or die."
-
Gideon lets out a grunt, examining Inis from top to bottom briefly. "Then perhaps I will have to question you about this sorcery later. For now, I want some answers, and I imagine I speak for all of us when I say that.". He begins heading east, towards the buildings.
-
Gideon fully turns his attention to Inis, motioning to her ears. "You look like you belong here. That is... less so, for myself and the others. Regardless, it's rather clear to me that we are all equally unknowing - perhaps we should get a move on. As visually impressive as our surroundings might be, we will learn nothing by staying here and asking each other questions."
-
Gideon rose from the (assumed) grass calmly, eyeing the gathered group with a cautious gaze. Reaching for the empty sheath by his belt, he grasped only thin air, letting out an exasperated sigh. "I have for you but three questions: Where am I, why am I here, and what the hell have you done with my weapon?"

[Volunteers Needed] Central Command Duty Officers

I can volunteer. Don't see why the hell not. -
There are several key concepts you do not seem to understand here, so I'll go ahead and explain. First of all, you were not banned simply because you killed yourself. You were banned because you have a history of arguing with staff, being uncooperative and generally causing this sort of trouble. Secondly, generating any sort of attack logs on the escape shuttle - this includes a simple punch - is against the rules, no matter the reasoning behind it. You do not do it, ever. The notes behind this are justified. Thirdly, us not knowing about the issue prior to you making it obvious does not excuse you in any way, shape or form. Furthermore, the fact that you're being contacted by staff about something you did is usually sufficient notification that you've done something wrong. You're kind of expected to understand this. In any case, as far as I know, 24 hour bans can't be appealed. In my opinion, the only error the staff involved committed was giving you access to your notes. You're in no position to make any demands, especially not absurd ones such as us these.

As the staffer presiding over the case detailed above, I'd like to say that the player in question was polite and cooperative over PMs and understood their mistake. With that in mind, I am not opposed to the ban being lifted.
