Sounds like a good idea, I've also tried to be assistants to certain heads of staff or even an assistant to the Warden when it comes to corporate regulation.

It's becoming quite common for people to switch out their position jumpsuit and grabbing other stuff, be it some normal clothing or other jump suits. This is something I've always had trouble as certain uniforms are there to signify something. I'll give an example. A paramedic is wearing something that either is not the paramedic jumpsuit or is wearing say a hoodie, which requires verification of ID to be sure of his job. So he respond to the call to a brig, he arrives to the lobby and people see him but don't let him in until they know he's a paramedic, so he is delayed from responding. This would lead to injuries worsening or the one in distress expiring. This could've been avoided if they saw the uniform and let him in straight away. So my question is, what actions as a normal employee ((Not a head)) can I do if I see a co-worker not wearing proper clothing or not abiding by hair regulations? And what can I as a head of staff do if they do not follow my orders, aside from calling security for an infraction?

Serveris6's Vaurca Application - [ACCEPTED]
Faris replied to Serveris's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Gotta catch em all! I've seen Severis as a player and as a member of staff and from my interactions with him, truly believe he deserves this. There this appealing "plainness" to his story that makes me like it, yet it doesn't appear lazy, which is good in my books. So I must give him a -1. Just kidding, +1. -
[Accepted] Moltenkore's Dionaea Application

Honestly, you had me sold from your description of their uniqueness, but I won't stop there. While no extreme interaction between his characters and mine, they appear to be well played from an observe point of view. Furthermore, the story line was pretty good and the answers as well. This is a +1 from me. -

BYOND key: Aboshehab Character names: G.R.U.M.P.Y - Raymond Hawkins - Needle - Frankie Fleming - Baldric Durstine - Khalid Walid - Griffin Wood - Charlton Lester - Ian Hunter - Judge - William ((Roles included in signature)) ((Antags: Toothius Fairuius / Hairius Stylius / Faris / Glorsh - Random Greek letter)) How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Started around the same time my Spring Semester started ((5-6 months)) [Trial Moderator PM] SirCatnip: Your account is 363 days old here. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I've played most departments so far as can be summarized from my character names and feel like I'd like to maybe go a tier up, learn more and take on more responsibilities that way. And hopefully, I won't disappoint. Why did you come to Aurora?: I mostly drifted between servers, some that I recall are Hippie, Bay, Goon and probebly others I don't remember over the years. While I enjoyed the other servers, Aurora is the only that has me playing the SS13 past a week. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay as inferred from the name is when you act into a role, be it realistic or not. I can roleplay characters in SS13 or other games with backgrounds and flavour I've thought of myself and act on it. I place myself into another characters self and "act", simply by playing with it. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: A head of staff is considered to be a representative of their department, a person with standards befitting the position. Someone that a person should be looking up to in a good way, since people would be trying to emulate him when working, so the attitude and procedures of said head matters.Furthermore, they have a responsibility over the well being of the crew members in the department and to ensure the department is working efficiently by managing it. And the last thing is that they are also expected to work well with with other departmental heads. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: They are considered to be the standard of a head, regardless of position. So it's important they give a good image as to what it means to be a white listed player. This can be upheld by adhering to protocols, procedures, having the right mindset and attitude to the tasks at hand. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Needle Character age: 20 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): An Integrated Positronic Chassis Line Model "Needle", with the purpose of performing medical procedures on Nanotrasen employees on their installations. Needle one of the first few of it's line, initially meant for field testing, in order to properly evaluate it and determine if the cost and benefit allow it to be viable in use as an Integrated Positronic Chassis with the sole purpose of medical treatment on stations and ships belonging to Nanotrasen. It's original posting was on NSS Canes Venatici, a medical station in Tau Ceti, on a planned five year evaluation, which resulted in the project being put on hold. The reason for this is that while Needle and the other line models were successful in their job, the long term cost for maintaining and managing such models proved to be too much, especially with the hazards that an IPC is susceptible to. So instead of mass producing these line models, the current ones were left to continue their assignment on board stations and ships. After the initial five year evaluation, Needle was kept on board NSS Canes Venatici to continue it's assignment where it remained there for another five years, resulting in a ten year assignment on board the station. Upon the tenth year, Model "Needle" was modified to include certain behavior augmentations that would be pleasing to patient he treats, to close the divide between organics and synthetics. After the augmentation, during year 2450, Needle was transferred to NSS Exodus where he has worked alongside other medical personal such as RUR, Curel Wald, Astor Shanor, Albert Grizo and Skylarr Ward What do you like about this character?: He's generally very straightforward and goes through as much procedures as he can, instead of just dumping people in a body scanner. What do you dislike about this character?: His programming and tasks limit how much socializing he can do. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: I think that Needle is a very strong adherent of procedures, a team player and I've also played quite a few rounds in medical with different character that while I don't know everything, I know a good portion of the mechanics. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: around 6/10, it can vary between characters depending on how close they are to me. I asked about the story format and was told that it does not have to be a biography, if it's fine I can spoiler a standard one and another spoiler with my current. -

[Accepted] "Aboshehab/Sharp" IPC Application

BYOND Key: Aboshehab Character Names: G.R.U.M.P.Y - Raymond Hawkins - Frankie Fleming - Baldric Durstine - Khalid Walid - Griffin Wood - Charlton Lester - Ian Hunter - Judge ((Roles included in signature)) ((Antags: Toothius Fairuius / Hairius Stylius / Faris / Glorsh - Random Greek letter)) Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: During my time playing Aurora station, I've thoroughly enjoyed playing as Androids, AI and other roles that involve me with synthetics ((Example: Robotocist)), yet they felt limiting in the sense of what can be done. I could be an android and pick any module I like but as cited in the wiki, IPC's have a more open "culture" which can allow me to make fun and unique IPC characters. Furthermore, even when not playing an Synthetic, my first character "Charlton Lester" is a robotocist, whom I like to play as a person that enjoys assisting synthetics with repairs and upgrades. Another thing is that when I play as an AI or an Android, there's this "emotinal" limitation, where it can be hard to think for myself due to my duties. While that is not an issue, it can be exhausting and I think IPC's would be a very good outlet without leaving the synthetic "scene". Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Different races and personalities make the IPC interactions with other people heavily random, where a Skrell may dislike the IPC due the Glorsh - Rebellion or another for a personal belief that synthetics are limiting job opportunities for themselves. IPC's are also extremely customization and unique with prominent examples ((Cheshire, Dragonsnap, Aurum and CAC to name a few)), those four are all unique in their own way. I could be a mass produced line model with hard logic for a character or a Bespoke created by a person with it's own personality that could mimic it's creator. IPC's in the sense of their mechanics are not capable of consuming foods and drinks, they also used cooling systems rather EVA suits since their chassis generates extra hear to survive, and are not affected by the presence or lack of gases ((Oxygen, sleeping gas and etc.)). Character Name: William Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs *Broadcast begins with a distorted and shaking footage that stabilizes momentarily with visible fingers fumbling with the camera, the footage shows a well bleak and badly lit room, featuring tools and metal parts on the ground and on furniture, in the corner of the room is something covered by a drape, bottem right of the screen shows the date and time 07/04/2446 19:37. A man moves in front of the camera, his face covered by a welding helmet, attired in oiled and dirty clothing, his hair and visible skin look unclean* "I finally did it! It's taken me many days and sleepless nights on this project, but I've finally done it! My family have given up on him but I haven't." *The man removes his welding helmet and throws it somewhere uncovered by the footage. This reveals a man, around his late thirties, with graying hair and heavy sleep bags under his eyes. A smile slowly creeps up on his face and he begins moving to the corner of the room* "Well, I'd introduce myself, but that hardly matters, what really matters is this" *He points to the concealed thing in the background* "You see, my brother was a bit sick, something my parents never believed in. They kept telling me that he's gone, that they've mourned for him and that I should stop and think of the reality of this. Truth is, I don't really speak to them anymore but I will soon, I fixed William and we're going to go home, and back to being a happy family again." *He goes for a light switch and flicks it on* "I taught my brother everything again, he really likes building and fixing things around the house, so we might go build that shed we were going to do before he got sick" *All of a sudden, audible banging and shouting is heard* "It costed me money and things that I didn't have nor could I afford it, so I had to borrow it from somewhere, I mean, human life is the most valuable thing, right?" *He begins moving to a drawer and pulls it open, looking at the content and then back at the camera* "I told the people I'd pay them back, but it's like they don't pay attention. Is it wrong for me to help my brother! Is it wrong for me to wish my family to be the same as it was ten years ago! It's not my fault the clerk was slow, I told him to hurry or I'd shoot him, but he was slow and I had to replace him." *He grabs an item and lifts it up, the resolution and lighting too poor to make out a model, but it is most certainly a pistol. All of a sudden a crashing sound comes from the hallway and shouting can be heard coming closer and louder* "I'm sorry I won't be around when you wake up William, but I've fixed you now, so go follow your dreams kiddo" *The man approaches the camera and fumbles with it, the broadcast ceasing all of a sudden* 07/04/2458 William looks up from his PDA to the horizon, a sun visible in the distant. He looks up from the window, the shuttle approaching the dock, and large visible letters begin to appear as they get closer, they spell out "NSS Exodus". After a few minutes, the intercom lights up and announces that docking procedures are over. William stands up and follows the line of crew entering the station, internally saying to himself "Dream", before disappearing behind a closing shuttle airlock. What do you like about this character? I like to think I've managed to design a unique character. The summary revolves around him being an IPC constructed by his brother to emulate his deceased younger brother "William", whom he denies has died and just needs to some help fixing. This character purpose is to follow "Williams" dreams which is in the stars, building and fixing things like the deceased "William" used to like, he is also convinced that he is "William". How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd give it around 6-7/10, I believe my issue sometimes can be that my current mood can affect my characters mood and I sometimes have trouble playing between characters with different backgrounds as I need to adjust my style of speech and how I do things, but I believe I've managed to improve myself in that regard. Notes: I'd be happy to answer any questions or rewrite my story if it is not fitting for this application or does not explain properly the origin story of the character.
