ben10083 Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Basically allow malf AIs to use a delta encrption hack to unlock combat modules for all slaved borgs, but crew is not notified. This will allow the malf AI to have an effective module to begin it's conquest of the station as most borg uprisings end badly for the bots since they are under-prepared for the ISD and RnD forces
Wigglesworth Jones Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 How much do you think the buff would change the balance of rounds?
Butterrobber202 Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 I support this, gives the AI an edge against rushers.
Itanimulli Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 This would be an *extremely* interesting thing. Esspecially since the borgs would have to go get module changes. Besides the point, mysterious borgs going missing from departments would make hoomans frea out. I guess what I'm saying is yes.
BurgerBB Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 I'm not comfortable giving the AI the ability to upgrade combat borgs stealthily given the fact that if Sec is unprepared, there is no way to counter that. Instead of buffing MALF AI why don't you just ahelp trigger happy sec instead?
ShameOnTurtles Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 What I’m saying here is going off my limited understanding of the mall game mode, I assume that delta encryption hack is the one that gives you access to the delta alert level? If so, I would be fine with being able to upgrade combat cyborgs but I definitely do not think it should be stealthy. At that stage you should be openly hostile.
Arrow768 Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Hm, that might actually be worth a try. But only with the change that the combat module becomes available after the AI has been announced as the culprit. (Up until that point nothing right out tells the crew that the AI is the responsible party)
ben10083 Posted October 25, 2018 Author Posted October 25, 2018 Arrow768 Once AI is announce as culprit sec and command will gun for them asap and shutdown the borgs, the combat thing requires a module reset which the AI will have to do first, maybe a bit before AI is found out is ok?
ben10083 Posted October 25, 2018 Author Posted October 25, 2018 How much do you think the buff would change the balance of rounds? At this time the AI would likely be found out already, and as it stands security just quickly grabs their ion rifle and robusts the borgs into next week, if the borgs were combat they can outmaneuver and outgun security, not to mention it really drives home that the borgs are rebelling when you see rolly bois patroling
Arrow768 Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Once AI is announce as culprit sec and command will gun for them asap and shutdown the borgs, the combat thing requires a module reset which the AI will have to do first, maybe a bit before AI is found out is ok? I gotta break that up into two points: Shutting down via the console: I am pretty sure that you can not detonate / lockdown malf borgs via the console (simmilar to traitor borgs) Restricting access to robotics: Command is probably going to try and shut down their access to the robotics lab, but this is not really an issue as the AI has the ability to reset borgs therefore not requiring the robotics lab.
Wigglesworth Jones Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 That sounds pretty reasonable to me. Pretty hard to stealth combat borgs.
