Remove the Ability to Delay Shuttle Launches

As per @Garnascus, delaying the Escape/Transfer shuttle is not allowed under any circumstances, and @Alberyk has said in some situations it is legit - but it should not be held for long.

Frankly, there is no reason to have the ability to hold a transfer or emergency shuttle. Transfers outside of emergencies happen every two hours and there is no reason to delay an entire shuttle for one employee taking their time, and in emergencies, the shuttle is meant to be docking and departing urgently, crew have TEN MINUTES to move to departures before the shuttle arrives, and another three before it takes off.

TL;DR, we have enough time to reach the shuttle, we don't need the ability to hold the shuttle's departure, and I am tired of people yelling at Heads of Staff in game to hold the shuttle while some staff yell at Heads of Staff for holding it.

This is used every day, usually for thirty or so seconds, and hardly ever more than two or three minutes. Whenever it happens there is a good IC reason for doing so. Additionally, you yourself admit that Alberyk said that there are legitimate reasons to delay the shuttle, so the rest of your post is just contradicted by that. The complaint that no doubt spawned this suggestion had several GOOD reasons to delay a shuttle mentioned, if I recall correctly, so that discredits this suggestion even further.

I'm voting for dismissal as well. As this is the second vote, this suggestion is being binned unless it's somehow overruled by the head devs or something. Can they do that? I dunno.

I appreciate your replies.

However, there is no actual good reason to delay the shuttle - it just delays the next more enjoyable round from coming, when players have already been given thirteen minutes to make a five minute journey at maximum, from any part of the station (asteroid and other EVA locations exempt).

Why would/should a ooc force stop something thats a ic issue? Delaying the shuttle is a ic issue and should remain as such.

The shuttle is an out of character issue. It being called is a request for the round to end veiled behind a thin pretense.

There is zero ic penalty for missing the shuttle, the round ends about 3 minutes later.

You icly call it for icly reasons. A end of round shuttle thats voted can be delayed if command feels icly its needed

And if they didn't have that option, they wouldn't be doing it. We would just move on with our lives and go to next round.

As long as this option remains it's going to be abused, because you can claim anything you want as 'ic reasons'. There's no reason for 2 to 5 people to have executive power to stall things for the other 15 plus people that want the round to be over.

"They're whitelisted" isn't sufficient reason for this. The option shouldn't even be there to be contested. There are situations where the shuttle is held for multiple minutes. We don't need these situations to occur, even if they are rare.

Why even have command then if they cannot oversee things?

I don't know, maybe for the other two and a half hours or more that they got to be command members? What exactly obligates them to have the privilege to delay the round end at the expense of everyone else?

to allow people to board the shuttle who are lagging behind due to conditions of their job? It makes sense ICly and the OOC tradeoff is really not that bad.
