Please Reduce Nazi Imagry in Necropolis

We have more spriters than amory and the loremaster said he would like to see a change.

@Mofo1995

I instead propose that we move away from any semblance of Nazi imagery. Add more red. Add more Soviet. The faction is literally from the USSR, that's on its wiki page. The CEO is Soviet. We don't need any hammers and sickles to do that, we can add red to the shoulders and red to the wrist-sleeves or do away with the red and brown entirely and use Amory's blue, yellow and brown to represent a separate branch of Necro Security.

That feels like it'd please everyone here. Sexy compromise.

I did the skimming work for you, borya. There is not an even spread of people agreeing/disagreeing about your initial assessment, Marlon. There are roughly 12 (not 9!) people in this thread not counting myself calling your assessment a stretch, whereas the overall verdict is that the uniform can be changed but not that it is necessary. There is a staunch majority of people overall who outright have said that they did not even have it occur to them that there was somehow Nazi imagery in the Necropolis uniform. Probably because a normal person's optics are not adjusted to look for Nazi symbolism, and I wouldn't even constitute as normal because I've unfortunately had to do research on Nazi iconography before for a project on propaganda. I don't see Totenkopfs, two thunderbolts or Swastikas on the Necropolis uniform, sorry.

You have ultimately chosen to interpret that it is Nazi symbolism, so I guess that's your problem alone to get wound up over, really. I wouldn't have personally guessed it was somewhat similar to a Nazi uniform either until you pulled a specific example from Rhodesia. The resemblance isn't quite on point either. All things considered, the Necropolis uniform was modified based off the NanoTrasen security uniform. Sheer coincidence that the color palette was light brown and tan, honestly, a lot of nations have used the palette. I would've thought it looks more similar to the United States Brown Beret/Army Green dress uniform at first glance.

While I sometimes wish for an active forum, this is perhaps not the best topic to light up.

We've basically fallen to repeating arguments and discussing guns. I'll close this for a bit with an ominous, "We'll consider it I guess." Tho don't expect a scramble, because this is definitely not something that merits immediate actions (like, there's not even an accidental swastika to be seen).

If a sprite boy wants to PR new sprites in the mean time, that's their prerogative and the PR will be evaluated on its own merits. This is probably about as good a non-answer as I can provide until the head devs and head lore people have a chat.

I'll take literally anything that better fronts the themes intended for necro. Idk about Soviet being the right mouthfeel but sure I guess.

I'm not saying you're lying. I just find it hard to take a faceless group that you mentioned two or three times in this thread seriously lmao. Especially when a majority of people here don't share that sentiment.
