IAmCrystalClear Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I have some simple tweaks to provide more personality to the different types of spiders based on their appearance. Firstly, the brown spider. It is clearly modelled after a tarantula, and I feel its stats should represent that. I propose removing toxins from the spider and instead buff its health and strength. This will make it the tankiest spider, capable of the most sustained combat, but make it the, arguably, the weakest of the three. Next, the black spider. This seems most similar to spiders such as the black widow or false widow. I thereby propose we change the toxin and instead replace it with Potassium Chlorophoride, capable of paralysing its prey for an easy subdue in order to cocoon them. This removes its high lethality, but means that someone caught out by the spider is doomed to die or become incredibly scarred. Finally, I do believe the white spider can remain as it is. However, I would argue we change the toxin the spider to a Potassium Chlorophoride one, to again remove instant lethality, but increase the danger reguardless. Furthermore, I believe the descriptions of the spiders could be given extra fluff, or removing some in the case of the black, chitinous ones.

PC doesnt silence you, but it paralyzes like zombiepowder, and kills you at 3x the speed. As for spider poison, we could just make a new drug! Something paralytic, that doesnt murder you on its own in small doses inherent to spiders only. Something that acts moderately quickly, and maybe it can be extracted from butchering spiders and processing the meat?
Peppermint Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Strong disagree. I'd personally make the white more tanky, but otherwise spiders are a pain in the ass. Like most of the events, they're annoying but that's about it and should stay that way.

It gives them more flavour, renews their descriptions, and (in some cases) lessens their lethality. Spiders are old and boring, we should sprice them up a bit!
Soultheif96 Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I would suggest spider toxin be edited to paralyze the receiver (Excluding Dionae and IPCs) upon being bit, but make it a chance (50% of getting paralyzed). Make the effect last for five minutes and slow down the heart rate of the victim to help them not get asystole. Once the brood mother gets them into a cocoon, they should burst in three minutes instantly killing the player/npc.
