DronzTheWolf Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away.. The Vacant Office on the NSS Exodus had a fax machine. This was useful, because it meant that when a malfunctioning AI was locking down all of Command and their offices, there was another option. The furtive fax machine, so easily forgotten. Atop this, it also meant that in lack of Command, it was possible for the crew to sent emergency faxes to Central without committing various crimes like breaking and entering, trespassing, and theft. I say we take inspiration from our cousin, twice removed, and add a fax to our own offices. We used to be on the Exodus, after all. We know it was once there.
Carver Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 I'd like to see this back, though I can understand reasons some may wish it to stay gone.
Caelphon Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 I belive it would be a good re-addition. If its abused, it can easily be taken away +1

Doesn't it need a command ID to even use? So you'd still need to find a command level ID to use.

Unless I’m wrong, Fax is a level of access that can be toggled on like any other kind of access via the HoP/Captain. Command, Consular and Corporate Rep get it. If this gets pushed through, it may be worth looking into anyone being able to submit a fax but the machine stamping your ID details on the footer of the message sent to punish misuse of the fax machine and to keep a paper trail. Possibly have a check to see if the ID used is valid by ensuring the fingerprint and dna hash are not null. Just spitballing ideas!
NerdyVampire Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 I like this, for both antag and crew, +1
