Rushodan
Title says it all, but will elaborate my reasonings here. During the round 606-draT I ended up being an antag in research. Decided to mess around with some chems and made smoke-poly grenades using the below recipe: 40 potassium, 40 phosphorus, 40 hydrochloric acid in one beaker 40 potassium, 40 sugar, 40 sulfuric acid in the other beaker large chemical grenade The resulting concoction took out @ReadThisNamePlz and @Yonnimer characters fairly quickly, killing them even though medical got right on them. Nothing could be done to save them (I am sure the pair tagged can provide their point of view). I am sure there are more chem grenades like this in research that could use some adjustments but I am highlighting this one specifically due to how easy it is to make and its power. I am uncertain on how devs could balance this, but I would suggest toning the damage done to internal organs and making the main feature its melty properties. PS: This did happen during the chem testmerge - no idea how much it effected things! Link to comment
Doxxmedearly
It is a smoke grenade filled with a highly-corrosive acid (The strongest acid in our code, as well). I am not certain this needs to be nerfed, as that is exactly what acid should do. This has been in the game for as long as I can remember and is fortunately one of the things that, while powerful, has not been abused. Like maxcaps, it's something you're expected to be careful about abusing because they are very powerful and we have rules about causing excessive collateral damage. If it becomes excessive we can take a look at it. But I'd prefer to give players a bit of trust here (Probably a mistake) not to abuse this. If we start seeing people dropping people left and right with polyacid grenades and it becomes more trouble than it's worth to keep moderating it, we can consider a mechanical limit. Link to comment
Scheveningen
There's a visual+mechanical with smoke grenades right now, actually, they disregard walls and windows/other obstructions and thus its not incredibly clear what the true range of a smoke grenade is besides getting off-screen from the smoke as quick as possible. This has led to people catching malicious reagents and dying from something they couldn't see. Link to comment

Can testify, makes backpressure surges a cancer in some small areas like when they fill a solitary cell and you catch a breath of them in the hallway next to that. Polyacid has always been cancer so I wouldn't be against seeing it nerfed even further. Never once has a time when it's been a strong weapon been fun. Link to comment
Doxxmedearly
Sounds like this is more of an issue with how smoke is distributed than anything. Link to comment
