Misiek1001 Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 BYOND key: Misiek1001 Discord Username: Lisek#2422 Character names: Current most active ones are Kliment Donadieu Aparajita Varma How long have you been playing on Aurora? I've been lurking since around 2018, although I think I've been on Aurora proper for over two years now. Here's to getting to a third, right? Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Like one warning that's expired by this point for going SSD from 2018. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame? I believe there are two purposes, really. You're one of the people that are directly involved in how a round or event is going to be played out, you're ought to make sure that the crew feels involved and people have an enjoyable experience. That your department retains its cohesiveness and is able to, too, be able to interact with the main point of the round. The second purpose is akin to that of a mentor. Many new players that hop into your department will look up to you as the 'highest authority' within it. It's your job to welcome them in with open arms, regardless of how much they already know about the game. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? My answer doesn't differ much from what I said back in 2021 in the original application. Heads of Staff are one of the driving forces during a typical round or event. As a Head, it's your responsibility to ensure that your department is running smoothly and, most importantly, that the people within in are enjoying the round. People that are new to the server generally look up to Command characters as examples of what to be, or mentors. You were new at some point too, so it's best to aid these players settle into the setting, and to answer any questions they have regarding your department, mechanics or lore. More often than not, a Head's also going to be the one wholly responsible for as to how an antag's gimmick plays out, and they can either make or break the round. Generally speaking, you should try to give the antag at least a slight bit of leeway, as cracking down on them without letting them develop their gimmick is ought to make for a rather boring experience for everyone involved. I'm entirely sure that I'm capable of upholding this end of the bargain, as I already actively do so as my non-command characters. I try my best to ensure that an antagonist is able to branch out as much as possible in a reasonable manner, before having to resort to the 'end all, be all' option, if required. Some gimmicks are easier to play along with than others, but that's just part of it all. Gotta be able to adapt to what's being thrown at you and figure out how you can shift it into a good and memorable round. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. Lucielle Da Siquiera: Hailing from Mictlan, it's quite clear that Lucielle finds herself in a peculiar situation. Sure, she's been off of the planet for a good few years now, having been able to retain a management-level Security position within Zeng-Hu after the MegaCorp acquisitioned the much smaller pharmaceutical firm she was employed in. Yet, with the looming threat of a potential Interstellar conflict stemming from the San Colette situation, as well as the active insurgency taking place back home, she's keen on trying to stay away from it all. A transfer to a jointly-owned ship such as the SCCV Horizon, while a high honor, is more of a relief to Da Siquiera, as she's able to tune out the danger of working anywhere planetside for now. It's hardly the safest assignment, but one that keeps her as far away as possible from the current major hostilities present within the Orion Spur. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? As of right now, HoS. I'm probably going to check out Consular and Representative at some point too, though. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Of course I have. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Lucielle Da Siquiera - Head of Security (Cael said it's fine for them to be coming from Zeng-Hu, as they're still effectively loaned to the SCC.) In the event I somehow do not manage to click with the proposed trial character, Aparajita Varma, my Gadpathurian Warden and Cadre Section Leader. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? As to be expected, yes. Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums? I have! Extra notes: I swear I'm not going to rescind it out of anxiety this time guys. 1
SilverSZ Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Lisek is cool, and a good role-player. They hold some of the qualities I believe are most important in a command staff member such as doing their best to make a round enjoyable for people around them and having a good head on their shoulders for managing stressful situations. I have seen both with characters on theirs in interim head positions. I also, as the player of a Zavod CMO. Proudly support a Zeng-hu HoS in return. +1 blah blah, I will prevent them from rescinding their application with my own pressure.
NG+7 Gael Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 I definitely think Lisek would make for a good Command player. I think they're a nice person and a good roleplayer, and from what I've seen of their characters, I'm pretty confident they would be able to play Command in a way that's actually fun for their department, something which I still sometimes see Command players forgetting to do. They're clearly capable of making interesting characters with actual personalities, and all of my experiences RPing with them have been great. I've not had any negative experiences with them so far. +1
FearTheBlackout Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 I think that Misiek has great characters that always add something positive to the manifest, and I see no reason why they shouldn't be whitelisted! +1
Peppermint Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Hey, I'll be taking this. Try and get as much feedback as you can, and I'll have an answer for you in a few days.
Loorey Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 A very good player from what I have seen so far, nice to have around. Really displays higher Roleplay standards instead of nodding everything off, as I have seen today while staging a Rescue Operation as Bridgie. Has shown much competency, coordinated security and relayed all relevant information to their team properly, communicated with them, equipped them properly for the job. I'd be happy to see them on the Roster s HoS in Command. +1 from me
ImmortalRedshirt Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Solid +1. I've interacted with their characters on and off over time and they're pretty well committed to having legit characters. Also helps that they're competent at their jobs.
Peppermint Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 On trial until 26/05/2023. As a note, the process is supposed to be fun. Don't stress too much about getting crazy playtime in, just do your best to get some feedback over the week. Message me on discord if there are any issues.
SilverSZ Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 I played as my Captain, Rose Hortensia, with Lisek playing as my Commander. Overall, in what was a chaotic and messy round, complete with a security traitor along with multiple others. I think they did very well. They were an interesting character, communicative, involved with the round and with the rest of command and did a good job managing their department and being generally competent despite the circumstances. My one piece of feedback would be to lean on your fellow command more and make use of the tools you have, rather than asking for an engineer over common, mention it over the command channel and let the Interim Chief Engineer or Captain handle that as you focus on your duties. Otherwise, a solid +1 from me.
Roostercat Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Hi. I've been doing some sec rounds recently with your HoS, and I like them a lot! They are professional, know what they are doing, and generally do a very good job and coordinating the department. I think you should get the WL. +1
Noble Row Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 +1, efficient, quick, and a joy to RP with. I don't know him OOCly very well but with how he's operated in his character I wouldn't mind him as a head of staff.
limette Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 (edited) I've had a few rounds with Lisek as Commander now - I was hesitant to post given I'm a close metafriend of Lisek and figured my feedback thus would just be expected rather than meaningful, but playing security especially last round has me wanting to say that he's been fine at handling stressful situations. A round with no telecomms, a shooter in medical, and a hostage situation leading to a dead officer all together were handled fairly well and professionally. My one criticism is an occasional tendency to be too harsh - leaping to maximum sentences in first offenses is what I've seen of this mainly. I get it makes sense IC, but it's no fun OOC to sit in a cell for 45 minutes instead of 25. Edited May 21, 2023 by limette oops i accidentally pressed post too early before the round ended
Diggey Posted May 22, 2023 Posted May 22, 2023 +1 Just played a round with them They immediatly took charge of the situation and made me think they were a veteran command player. They also did not jump the Gun, there was a situation which warranted an arrest but they took it slow and escalated magnificently. The Character is well acted and believable. I do get Limette's OOC concern as the character itself is very harsh. A real stick in the mud and that can be played without the sentencing beeing a reflection of that but other than that I am positive that this player nails all other aspects of command they have a great way about organising multiple departments, taking charge of medical in lieue of a CMO missing and not making it feel forced for example They play a competent assertive crewmember and I 100% believe their role Very well done.
