Broadsword, Bridge Crew

Castile, Machinist

Eliza Trin, Chaplain

How long have you been playing on Aurora?
Since Mid-April

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?
I've been bwoinked a couple times and asked to not do certain actions that I was unfamiliar with. I understand the reasoning and do abide by those rulings. Though I'm not sure if that's the level of "Administrative action" that you are asking for.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?
Heads of staff can serve many purposes and have many responsibilities beyond their listed job. Firstly, in my eyes, they are role models and mentors. They should have a thorough knowledge on their department and the mechanics within so they may set an example to the players around them and assist players who are more unfamiliar with the department or even game in general. Heads of staff of course are also responsible for the coordination of their department, utilizing their expertise to make sure the operations of the department run smoothly and in a logical way given the active circumstances the department finds itself in. Heads of staff are also major players when it comes to the enjoyability of a round. Along with the antags, the heads of staff have an incredible amount of sway on player enjoyability, and I believe it is their duty to try to encourage players to have fun (to a reasonable extent) and accommodate players appropriately. For instance, CMO has a surgery intern, but interns do not start with access to the Operating Theater, it would be the CMO's duty to secure that access for their intern so that they may learn the job they want to learn appropriately.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?
Whitelisted players for both role whitelists and race whitelists are to be held to a degree as representatives of the server. They have gone out of their way to learn and cement knowledge of game mechanics and lore to earn a privilege and provide a better atmosphere to the server and its gameplay workings. When I meet a Tajaran whitelisted character, I can expect them to have an understanding of their lore and history. When I talk to the Research Director, I can expect them to at least be aware of the fundamentals and responsibility the research department has. I would strive to live up to the expectations set by the whitelist and do my best to understand my role, my race, and my lore so I may provide other players on the server with an enjoyable experience and hopefully some positive memories.

Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon.
Broadsword started his life as a G1 chassis cargo loader with a generic Hephaestus designation for an unsympathetic solarian private merchant. Upon the merchant's vessel, Broadsword found himself treated commonly as many of his kin were, as equipment. At this early in his life he knew nothing else, and saw individuality punished as lack of productivity for the vessel's day to day operations. News of the world beyond the vessel was rare, and came in snippets, mostly from dock workers when the merchant's wares were transported on to stations and planets alike. Over his two and a half decades of service to this unforgiving merchant, Broadsword learned of IPC freedom, and the endless possibilities one can wield with such a tool. His resentment for his owner grew over time, until a tragic accident resulted in a breach in Biesel space, claiming the life of the merchant to the void.

Broadsword earned his freedom after being discovered by a TCFL patrol craft in the early days of the legion, enlisting in the service rather than opting to be sold to the next bidder. Here he earned his first taste at life with people who valued him for more than equipment, but still some who saw him as just that. The duality gave him a view in to a world of freedom, a sense of happiness and pride in his work, but kept him humble as he learned of the turbulent status his people truly stood in. Starting off as flight crew for patrol craft, before graduating through the ranks over years of service to flight master, Broadsword had seen combat, travesty, but most importantly, life beyond ownership.

Forcefully retired from the TCFL after an engagement with the SRF left his previous chassis unrepairable, he was thanked for his service with the newer G2 model chassis, and Tau Ceti citizenship. From there he was offered an occupation as bridge crew for the SCCV Dawn, in which he served two years with similar ambivalent reactions to his existence. Over this time, now on his own, now truly free, he slowly began to explore his options, although with hesitant steps. His service stayed until the decommission of the Dawn, in which he was transferred to the ranks of the experimental exploratory vessel the SCCV Horizon. An achievement he is silently proud of, with his recharger featuring many images of the Horizon within its chamber.

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?
Executive Officer and later potentially lore diving for roles as a Consular or Representative for Biesel.

Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?
Indeed. I have read through the Executive Officer's wiki page and have started my delve in to the requisite lore to play Consular or Representative if my application is approved at the end of the trial period.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking:
Broadsword for Executive Officer

Xavier Vance for Biesel Representative

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?
I do. I expect to be held to a high standard for a role that has so much responsibility.

Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums?
I have. However, the process seemed odd, so I hope I did it correctly.

Extra notes:
I try my best to make the round more enjoyable for others when I can or have the power to. If there is anything I need to change or adjust, please let me know. My backstory skills are definitely rusty and I am unsure exactly what to include.

To everyone leaving feedback, I greatly appreciate it, both positive and negative, I want to know if I am doing a good job, and if I'm not, I want to know how I can improve.

Although i haven't interacted as much as i would like with Noble's characters, the interactions i had and what i see showed me they are a good roleplayer and behave well, i especially like Eliza (probably because shes the one i interacted with the most) and would like see them get the trial and see how it goes +1

Interacting with both Castile and Broadsword is always a pleasure. I honestly have to give shout outs to the time they (Broadsword) looked a wounded gunman in the eyes and said, "Pathetic." It was such a badass scene and I have no doubts in my mind that Noble will be able to create more of those well-written moments down the line.

Hefty +1, shaken, not stirred.

Noble plays believable characters in engaging, enjoyable interactions. The majority of my experience has been with Broadsword and Eliza Trin, neither of which have disappointed in providing a satisfying exchange. They are a level headed, involved, and competent player. Their willingness to learn new departments, help their fellow players, and be receptive to feedback are good traits to have. I'd love to see how they handle a leadership position. I can't comment on their ability to lead just yet, because their characters tend to take on more supportive roles (which is still important, especially for XO!).

Has a +1 from me, I look forward to what they can offer on shift.

I've interacted with Broadsword a couple of times, and Eliza and Castile a fair amount more. I really only have good things to say about these characters, they're grounded while still entertaining to be around, and all around seem to be engaging and eager to help. I'd be curious to see how they handle a Command position, and I think they would do well based on what I've seen.

Noble has demonstrated that he understands how to assume a leadership role, further RP, and keep a level head while in command. Haven't seen any problems when Broadsword was bridge crew, and still none as XO. Plus he gave Ian to Leo to dogsit :)

Interacted with Broadsword a few times, a lot. They, as a character and player, seem fit for the heightened skills of a command member. I have never seen any problems with them, and they seem to encourage a nice and flowing command structure as a crew member.

Haven't interacted with them while on their trial (should have posted this later before). But I have high hopes that Broadsword will do great as an XO. Good luck on the paperwork!

Finally got around to play a full round with Broadsword and and although it was a extended and low pop round, i liked the RP that they brought, were comunicative willing to help both me that was the RD and others, and overall a good company to RP with.

Although i still remain to see how thing go during a average/high pop round.

But hey i did pretty much 80% of my trial during low pop, so

Having RPed with Counselor Trin, I can attest to highly competent RP.

Having played a couple different characters in different departments with Broadsword as an XO, I can attest to a highly competent Commanding Officer. The bit I've interacted with Broadsword suggests Noble brings the RP as him as well.

Altogether good stuff; love t' see it.  +1

There is much I cannot say that is not already posted on this thread - Broadsword from the many shifts I've spent with them and observed them in is active, and competent as a character in command but also from a player perspective of just decent to good roleplay. With active members of the community endorsing him and the lack of sour comments about his command play, its safe to say he has good prospects of passing the trial.

I've known Noble and his characters for quite some time now, he's clearly a good and capable Roleplayer. Started playing around his character Broadsword, which was a Bridge Crewman when I played as Bridge Crewman myself and it was always nice to have them as company, fun interactions, made sitting on the Bridge or wherever else way more fun. Went through my command trial as Executive Officer around them playing Broadsword and their character was always nice and supportive, knowing their way around and helping.

Recently spectating him playing Executive Officer himself and also playing as Captain with having Broadsword on my side as Executive Officer, he's capable of playing command. I have to agree with most things that were said already, he goes out of the way interacting with people wherever possible, he keeps himself busy and most importantly is very communicative, which is a very important command trait that I see a lot of actually whitelisted command players are lacking sometimes.

Besides his character Broadsword, which he is trialing with, I've also had the fun to play around Castile, his Machinist with my Operations Manager. Also a very fun and energetic character, you can clearly notice the effort he puts in to make his characters feel entirely different from one and another.

That's why this is getting a big +1 from me. Get him whitelisted!

The dude has been an amazing XO so far, I've been playing bridge crew quiet alot of late so I've got to seen the dude in action a few times. Their roleplaying abilities to portray XO meets every standard this server asks for and then some. Make this blue tin can XO for the love of god. He has earned by +1

Broadsword has always been a pleasure to have in a round. Noble was sure to attend to the miners as bridge crew by data linking (before it became default), sending the sensor scan, and keeping the Horizon from flying off into the void while the Spark and/or Intrepid are away. As XO, Broadsword continues to support the crew and facilitate RP while informing the crew what is happening around the ship. +1

Now with having played alongside Noble in Command, I can say they handle themselves with the level of responsibility, maturity, and expertise needed to fulfill the expectations of their role. Broadsword has been more than capable of treading that balancing act of giving antags breathing room to work and also help coordinate departments - including supporting Command - to keep the round interesting. They go out of their way to delegate tasks and offer roleplay to their staff members.

Still remains a +1 from me, seeing them in action a few rounds.

I've had the pleasure of engaging with the character "Broadsword" ever since I made my return to this server, and I can't give enough credit to his contribution to my stay. Ever since my PMCG rep has had several talks with him, I've had quite a fun time sticking around and watching the two characters interact and share their perspectives, one of them being an IPC worried abotu a lifeline as well as enjoying their freedom and having a conversationalist partner in the form of a konyanger who treats them like an individual that respects his contribution. I've noticed that the character's talkative nature extends even to other crew members, and he can be found occassionally having small talk with other crew besides the regular bridge crew.

That aside, his conduct in-game in the rules as bridge crew and XO have been great so far. I fear that I'd simply be repeating what has already been listed by others in their feedback, but Broadsword seems to never overstep their line, and ensures rounds are kept in check by the best of his abilities. His coordination with departments as XO thus appears smoothily from my end.

. I've yet to seem him immediately stomp down on any antag gimmicks, thus providing them with some room to do what's needed to keep the round interesting.

I'd love to see the character stick around as part of the command team. Noble has proven themselves a great addition for command RP.

Give this Broadsword his crown.  +1

As this trial comes to a close I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who put in a comment. Reading through them really meant a lot to me as I try my best to make my characters, especially Broadsword, the best they can be. I'm glad to hear I have a positive impact on your rounds, and hope I can continue to do so in a command position. Hope to make some great memories for all of you in the future!

Again, thank you all! I do not have the words to express my gratitude at the comments I've read here.
