give me ideas for fluff medical equipment

AKA stuff that doesn't really serve a mechanical purpose, but does give you little flavour text on a character's condition.

Stuff I am already thinking about:

• A scale (has no effect, unless we add mechanical weight somehow)
• A measuring stick (tells you the character's height in cm and ft)
• A glucose monitor (?) (gives a random value that can depend on whether you just ate or not. Also diabetes disability when hello)
• A blood pressure machine (checks your blood pressure)

Not entirely fluff, but an ECG, which would just play an animation and beep periodically, increasing with heart rate. Also very much for a glucose monitor, that'd be neat.

I just wanna say you could totally have the glucose monitor read hunger levels or something if you wanted it to do something mechanical
I also have no problem with adding mechanical weight, I don't think it should do anything other than show in fluff or on those scales, it would be very neat tho.

A few off the top of my head:
 

• Some futuristic variant of an MRI/ultrasound/xray so that we can have pictures of a patient's internals. Helps to do fluff RP like pointing out a specific fracture or identifying their character's conditions. Doesn't have to do anything special if its too complicated. Just a generic photo print out with a description of their race and what it's showing if we want to keep it simple.
• EEG for the brain, ECG for the heart. Could combine them since its the 24th century into something fancier.
• The glucose monitor as mentioned.
• Some kind of proper blood panel read out. Could contain randomized information for cholesterol, hemoglobin, platelets, red blood cell count, vitamin deficiencies, etc. We currently only get what reagents are in their system with our analyzer.
• Instrument sterilizer would be so soul for the OR. A proper way to clean equipment besides the spray cleaner or washing at a sink.
• A method to take tissue samples, swab mouths, for more than just investigators. It has medical purposes too.

I know this doesn't super fit in what you're looking for exactly, but new sharps boxes that aren't just cardboard boxes

To further expand on your scale, a full scale/height measurement like the one pictured below would be awesome. But like, 2400's tech version.

Do we already have head mirrors? It'd be a hat, I'd think. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_mirror 

IRL, you'd use it + a bright lamp to get a clear and unshadowy view of nasal passages/ear canals/throat.

They're a bit obsolete, but so are fax machines.

They are coded in and were a formerly job-spawn item.

iirc the current green-top scanners are technically an advanced all-in-one machine including all of those (at least MRI). We could probably roll in this fluff into the scanner itself.

Might not be fluff or a separate item, but being able to attach scans to a rollerbed would be sovl. I wanna see more posters in medical (or just in general actually). Fluff and soul.

A therapy pod for patient recovery. It is more horizontal than the cryo pods, doesn't remove your senses but dampens them. Has some psychotherapeutic purpose?

Unique container for removed organs/implants/foreign objects, I think right now people just put them in the sharps disposal box.

 

Bonus: maybe you can ship the box over to the Investigator or Research so they can poke the contents with a stick and find out more about it

There is already an organ cooler in the OR freezer, and sharps disposals is the container meant for shrapnel and such. I could see maybe a unique one for implants.

As an aside, someone should re-sprite the sharps disposal box to look like the IRL disposal boxes instead of just a re-colored generic box.
