How long have you been playing on Aurora?

Around 9 months.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?

I have received a warning for not telling the administration before logging off as a burglar. Other than that, my record is clean.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?

Heads facilitate the game. By providing an authority figure in-setting, they are the first and most responsive people who work to make a round enjoyable. They function as a tutorial giver and teacher, delegate tasks, coordinate efforts, and help the story of a round progress. When a new player needs help with the mechanics of engine setup or an antagonist demands something from the crew, it is up to command to respond and set the backdrop for the story the players are telling. The command whitelist exists to make sure that the people facilitating the roleplay know the setting, the rhythm of the game, and know what other command members have done in the past.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?

Your responsibility is primarily to ensure your department’s function and the round as a whole are going well for everyone involved. Your job is not to try and micromanage or make sure that the crew wins an antag round. You’re also responsible for enforcing certain standards of believability, both for yourself and others. Being a master of your department and taking over all of the work isn’t fun for anyone but yourself, but you should also prevent your department members from creating unrestricted chaos that makes the round less fun for everyone.

Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon.

Hatched on Aliose in 2312, Kuu’lor Qurioxi came out of their education in 2386 with three degrees and a hunger for even more knowledge. They gained employment on a Jarqo-class exploration ship with the blessing of their family and began their first real work, surveying exoplanets. The still somewhat fresh human contact spurred them to take a position near the border of the northern Solarian Alliance and the frontiers of the Nralakk Foundation. Serving there for a few decades, they soon decided to abandon the relatively confined, lonely Jarqo-class and begin their work for Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals corporation in 2418, shortly after the discovery of phoron by NanoTrasen, which they worked with often.

Kuu’lor continued productive employment with the corporation, eventually opting adopt their veterancy plate, which they take great pride in. Their continued loyalty to the corporation compelled their superiors to eventually decide to allow them to be contracted out to the Conglomerate, after almost a century of steady work. The phoron scarcity, however, shook their faith in the current state of affairs. The once promising fields of phoronics and bluespace research became almost dead-ends, and they sometimes ponder how the increasing desperation of the Federation and corporations will end for them. They have watched the world around them torn from under their feet in the span of under a decade, and yet they carry on.

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?

I’ll probably be playing XO, Captain, RD, and the two representative roles the most.

Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?

Yup! I don’t know how to answer this one in a paragraph

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking:

Kuu’lor Qurioxi, Research Director

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?

Hopefully

Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums?

Yes!

Sure

Pocheto seems like a competent roleplayer, I fully trust they understand the ooc/ic implications of command.
She strikes me as someone who'd remember the person on the other side of the screen, which is important not to forget when dealing with a role that can very easily make or break rounds for other people.
I don't have the hands-on experience to comment on their mechanical skills, the only mechanically deep job I've shared with them is a few engineer rounds, but mechanical skill isn't the primary reason command's whitelisted, it's the rp competency and consideration.

Pocheto is a very good roleplayer and one I could see doing just fine with a Command whitelist; I remember particularly talking to her Azquil Vaurca and having an enjoyable time that round. +1!

Pocheto is an awesome roleplayer who makes fun characters and is amazingly able to bounce off gimmicks and other people. She can absolutely rock the command WL.

I regrettably haven't played research under Qurioxi, but both as a random crewmember and fellow head of staff they have been consistently communicative, going out of their way to keep the crew informed with the announcement system. They're also a funny character.
