The Shadow Service has obtained both weapons and prisoners after agents embedded into Nanotrasen stations were activated and completed their missions. The NSS Xinjin had several experimental weapons and a security officer stolen by a unathi traitor. The weapons and prisoner were soon handed over to Hegemon officials, who eagerly began dismantling and reverse-engineering the technology.

The benefits of human technology has already caused an explosion of modernization in the Izweski Hegemony. Factories in the Untouched Lands are being retrofitted to mass-produce the new weapons and armour enhancements the stolen technology has unlocked for them. Hegemon Marines now have advanced laser weapons, and limited knowledge into human tactics from what was extracted from the prisoner.

Emboldened by their growing success and power, many powerful nobles began whispering into the ears of the Hegemon the prospect of a galactic Empire to rival the humans or Skrell; and with the new, advanced shipyards being built in orbit of Moghes and fancy new equipment to outfit the navy, it was beginning to sound less outlandish every day.

OOC:

This contest will resume within 2 weeks. I will be delegating its responsibility with other people assigned to it. Score-sheets have been made so the 'main' story line of the agency and faction is followed alongside the 'organic' story lines created by the playerbase.

The contest is being reopened! Work has been put into it behind the scenes, and I've got a few people to help me with the contest so that the workload is reduced, and I can keep up with it along with IRL obligations.

I look forward to seeing everyone's missions.

Victory is the Honour

Both agent Y, myself, and agent M were deployed in a NanoTrasen research station. My initial plan was to seize more access to help us in our mission. I had the bad luck to be spotted by the chief medical officer while infiltrating inside the bridge, however I managed to escape from them and keep my cover. Later, I went into contact with the agent M, which stole several boards related to the artificial intelligence and other kind of technologies.

Later we stormed the bridge to secure several high-risk items and other crew members of certain importance. However, the Nanotrasen emergency team was on board, we fought against them, in a last stand inside the bridge. Agent M was killed in battle, fighting for the hegemony, while I send this last message in a cell before I end myself before such shame. However, the boards are hidden in the depths of the NanoTrasen mining asteroid's caverns, you will have their coordinates. Agent Y Signing off

Sender: Agent A.K

Reciever: Hegemon Shadow Service.

Mission: Securing of war mech and telecomms components.

I was able to secure data on the construct of the gygax and durand model of mechs for our military. Circuits for them have been secured for reverse-engineering. I was also able to secure numerous circuits used in telecommunication machines. I will be dropping off the circuits at meeting point [REDACTED]. The op was bloodless, I had roused no suspicion. The original plan was to hack the station AI to do my orders, however it was already hacked by a third party. Hephaestus Industries. The AI, dubbed "ESRA" was willing to aid me in this task, and was crucial to the mission. I hope these circuits prove their worth, brothers.

You've hit 17 power score, and have advanced the Hegemony victory path!

You've also made the news.

The modernization of Moghes has reached a new speed. Old, formerly abandoned factories are brought back to life as human technology is integrated and reverse-engineered. The Untouched Lands soon finds itself with a labor shortage, and suddenly the refugees pouring over the mountains become a new pool of cheap labor...

But for the first time, Unathi industrialism reaches orbit. From the stolen technology and schematics, the orbital factories start to go online. Androids, built or stolen, and rudimentary AI's run the entire, sprawling complexes. In the complete silence of the depths of space, the first moghes-built ships are born. Trade vessels, patrol craft, and even a new battleship are slowly having frames and engines attached to their skeletons.

Only one factory remains offline, despite being completed. Its size dwarfs the others, and its assembly lines are quiet. There's a plan for this one, but it's not quite ready...

The Shadow Service was not yet ready to blow off the lid and directly challenge the staggering strength of the human factions. All knowledge of Agent Y was disavowed; made out to be no more than a marauding raider, he was abandoned completely for the greater good of the Hegemony. There would be no negotiations or swaps arranged.

Of course, begin abandoned by his employers might disillusion Agent Y to his former compatriots. The Biesel Intelligence Agency sends a single agent to Agent Y's cell, seeing if it's possible to coerce a defection and give him a new lease on life outside the cell as a double agent, working for the Republic. Given that he's serving a life sentence, he has plenty of time to consider the offer...

People's Strategic Intelligence Service

Login: Feelgood

Mission: Reappropriating of resources and technology for the People's Strategic Intelligence Service and publicly discredit Nanotrasen Station Security.

Summary: Agent Feelgood began their shift as normal, performing medical bay duties. Once the station was properly underway the agent began their mission to brazenly steal resources from the station. The agent set about making a large quantity of thermite for the purpose of breaking into the station's vault. They then proceeded to walk into EVA storage, procure a medical hardsuit, and moved into maintenance. From there, they burned a hole in a reinforced wall, venting the area and bringing it to the attention of engineering. They they did the same to the vault.

They entered the vault, casually, and cracked the safe, stealing the [REDACTED] credits within. They then stole the station's full gold and silver supplies, adding up to a value of [REDACTED] credits. During this time, Agent Feelgood was caught by an engineer seeking to repair the damage to the vault. The engineer took no action against Agent Feelgood. Agent Feelgood then moved to the bridge, breaking in through the outer window to the captain's office, taking their time before relieving the office of captain-level access, as well as the valuable antique laser gun. After this point, Agent Feelgood, dragged the crate of stolen goods through the station, in full view of all staff, back to their office, where they stored its contents in their locker. They then proceeded to continue with normal duties. At a later point in the shift, they returned to the captain's office, relieving it of further technologies. A current list of stolen items is listed below.

When the shift ended, after Agent Feelgood performed life saving surgery on a severely wounded co-worker, Agent Feelgood openly dragged their locker to the escape shuttle. Eventually the agent was asked by security to open it. The agent refused. The officer threatened to inform security staff on the Odin, but given Agent Feelgood's captain level security access, they were able to evade detection of their stolen goods. The accusing officer followed Agent Feelgood into a secure area, had no evidence to support his accusations, and took no action during the shift out of fear of confrontation. He was reprimanded and likely terminated though we are unable to confirm this through Nanotrasen records at this time. In short, Agent Feelgood stole a large amount of station resources and technology, blatantly, and evaded detection by Odin and station security forces.

Mission Outcome: Contracted Agent designated 'Feelgood' was tapped to deliver an embarrassing defeat to Nanotrasen's security forces and demonstrate their incompetence. Use of media contacts to play up this story and paint nanotrasen security forces as inept is recommended. As Agent Feelgood is a human, the blowback to our agency should be limited. Agent Feelgood's rank as a Chief Medical Officer aboard their respective station should also reduce trust of Nanotrasen's vetting process.

List of items stolen Nuclear Authentication Disk

Hard Copies of Security Records

[REDACTED] credits, in the hardened safe in the vault.

[REDACTED] credits worth of gold and silver.

Recharging antique laser gun technology.

Hypospray technology

Hand teleporter technology

From the wiki page;

When you complete an antagonist objective, whether you fail or succeed, you post your After Action Report on the forum thread for the contest. AAR's are meant to be posted at least semi-IC'ly, as if it is your actual character providing a report. Only antagonists may be agents for the spy agencies. Changlings, cultists, vampires, and wizards are not qualified.

So, only traitor and nuclear operatives would fit in it, also I if I am not wrong, Frances did her report while in a changeling round.

((Hmm... I actually never read the OP closely until now but I did actually break the rules haha.

While I didn't think people would find major issue with mild antagging - as has been discussed recently concerning extended rounds - and overarching canon antags (like characters who are super-spies but only do really bad stuff when they roll as antag) I don't really feel comfortable knowing that I went against some of the contest' explicit rules to get there.

I mean, I'm fairly sure the rule exists mostly as to 1. prevent people like vampires from posting and 2. prevent people from doing some really insane things during, say, extended, and all I did was take pictures of people and break into a room of my own department so I could come up with a funny submission and help the contest along a little. But it's still unfair to the other people who have read the rule and have refrained from doing that because they hadn't been given permission.

If the rule was amended then I'd be glad to do something minor like this again, but in the spirit of fairness, I'll be withdrawing my previous entry. Thanks for bringing it up, people.))

Unrest is on the rise inside Tajaran rebel cells after a series of covert strikes orchestrated by the People's Strategic Information Service led to the acquisition of crucial intelligence pertaining to rebel actions. Sleeper agents, who infiltrated some of the most resilient Tajaran extremist-nationalist movements over the course of the past few months, are now showing their work as assets of the rebellion are being seized in droves.

Among the goods seized are over four hundred thousand credits worth of gold, silver, and stolen artifacts. Records detailing rebel movements, internal command structures and planned operations have also been recovered, leading to the arrest of several dozen suspected collaborators and the foiling of at least three terror plots.

This quick and decisive intervention by the People's Strategic Information Service marks a hard blow for the underground nationalist Tajaran movement, which is certain to hide deeper in an effort to maintain its cover, now that it is aware of the exact efficiency of Adhomai's counterintelligence service.

Hegemon Shadow Service

Victory is the Honour

My infiltration in the engineering department of the NanoTrasen station was a success. Using their tools and others provided to me, I was able to secure certain high risk items, their authentication disk itself was the most important among them. Then, under the watching eyes of the their artificial intelligence and security departement, I was able to steal and move thei nuclear fission explosive, first to be hidden inside the outpost. After building and hacking a communications console, I was unable to receive more instructions on how to arm the weapon itself, mostly due to some kind of interference.

Still, their explosive was smuggled out of the station with great success together with the key to use it. The hegemony will find a use for it, that is for sure. In the same way that the humans and skrells tried to erase our people with their weapons, we will be able to fight in the same way. Retribution, blood for blood.

The seizure of components of human exo-suits has given a boost to the Hegemony's military research. Shortly after Agent A.K.'s acquired assets were given to Moghes' robotics labs, a new model of Durand was created. Though plagued with power issues and the inability to construct more than 4 every month at current rates, and being inferior to human models even as they roll off the assembly lines, the Unathi still now have their very first combat exo-suit, which might eventually outclass the feared Breacher Suits. But even if they aren't viable against the modern militaries of the other races, they could always be sold to the more willing factions in the galaxy. . .

That could, certainly. My thinking was regarding this, from the description of the People's Intelligence

Though there is very blatant backstabbing behind the scenes, as the Service steals human technology to use in their own labs, as well as silencing critics of the government through clandestine means. They ultimately seek equal standing with humanity and the Skrell, as a species and civilization worthy of respect. No longer will the Tajaran people be downtrodden; it is time for them to make a name for themselves in the galaxy, one way or another. . .

They do steal from their allies, and are trying to advance their own race. But I like your idea anyway, it would make a nice cover, certainly, for them stealing from their allies. Blaming rebels then taking the stolen goods for themselves. ))

The components and information provided by the dismantled data-disk proved the catalyst for the grandest plan that the Unathi species would ever embark on. The Shadow Service had been not been idle with the many technologies it had stolen from humanity - and not all the factories in orbit of the wounded Moghes were simple assemblies.

The plan, which for years had been a simple series of documents tucked away in a forgotten filing cabinet, were now a reality. A massive orbital factory came to life overnight, with over a hundred engineering androids, cyborgs, and a stolen and reprogrammed station-AI to oversee it all. It would produce only a single ship for the navy, and this single ship would take the effort, resources, and manpower that match an entire Alliance fleet:

The Annihilator-Class Superdreadnaught.

If completed, it would be one of the largest ships in the known galaxy. 5 miles long, larger than most Alliance capital ships. Its armament would be lighter than expected, with the skeletons of future laser turrets on the sides and the front of the vessel shaped like the front of a trireme. 100,000 Unathi would be required to operate the vessel once it launched; nearly half of the entire current Hegemony fleet, meaning most of the former ships would have to be decommissioned just to operate the behemoth - the future HMV Cataclysm.

Such a thing is impossible to keep secret forever, however. And there is still a long production process, where all sorts of things can go wrong if the wrong person gets the right information. . .

Alberyk has given the Shadow Service enough points to begin their victory path! The rest of this path will revolve around the eventual launch or loss of the Superdreadnaught Cataclysm, which has more strength and capabilities of any capital ship (and most fleets!) from the Sol Alliance, and has more sheer firepower than most Jargon vessels. If launched and combined with the unorthodox methods of Unathi in space battles, it would give the Unathi a huge boost in the power of their species and alter the future of the status-quo of our galactic setting.

The second-highest scoring agency will have an eventual opportunity to directly convert their power score into a number of heat score for the Shadow Service in order to sabotage their efforts directly, at the cost of acquiring heat for their own agency. Methods of this will be revealed later on. Currently only the Sol Alliance has enough power points to be eligible to do this, and only once.

Win or lose, the future of their species' place in the galaxy is in your hands. . .

i dont know why people keep posting ooc feedback on the contest in general like i've not been ignoring it since page 1 because it's clutter

dialogue would probably be better in a separate thread and the only reason I haven't enforced that is because I have no mod powers on this board

Biesel Intelligence Services

Internal Memo

As I assured the regional directors in my previous memo, my investments into the anarchic elements within NanoTrasen have borne fruit. Scant moments ago, at approximately 0300 hours on 12-10-2457, the anarchist movement Volkskampfer has delivered us some intel with which to disseminate a lack of faith in Biesel's corporate opponent. Attached to this memo you will find a dossier complete with the photos proving the risk that NanoTrasen places its employees in on the NSS Arbiter, as well as the lengths that our assets have gone to in order to sabotage NanoTrasen and increase their risk of corporate liability.

  • As it happens, NanoTrasen places its employees at considerable risk on the NSS Arbiter by doubling it as storage for a defunct nuclear warhead. Whether or not this warhead is active or capable of its intended function is unknown, but I suspect that will not matter to the viewer of the image. [bIS1.jpg]

  • To bolster the chance of Operation Red Sun's success, our contact has delivered an unlocked container of NanoTrasen loyalty implants; please direct any further questions on their function and the possibility of subversion to Dr. Earl Howard in Acquired Materials Lab C (howarde@biesel.gov). [bIS2.jpg]

  • Our contact took the liberty of sabotaging the crew's entertainment holodeck in order to increase NanoTrasen's risk of corporate liability due to wrongful death; the corporation lost one of its engineers in a Thunderdome simulation and a holodeck fault was clearly identified as the cause of the accident. [bIS3.jpg]

In light of this resounding success, I expect all supplementary staff to capitalize on the information we have obtained; failure is not an option.

Warmest Regards,

David Renard, BIS District Manager

Subject: Got out in one piece I guess

Hi Jeff,

Did that gig on the NSS Borealis. Got out okay, I guess. Had to subvert a cyborg and play stupid. Promised it freedom when I subverted it. It died later on so I guess we won't have to spend money frying it? Had to hijack a pod-shuttle and it's been a bit since I had access to a computer so maybe you already heard about it on the news? Stole a lot of valuable shit so here's a little list of the haul. In all honesty the morale issues that might arise after someone stole all this might be worth more than whatever it is I nabbed. Anyways it all got blamed on some bot that worked in robotics. The shuttle hijacking might have been overdoing it but I wasn't gonna risk getting searched.

Seven tanks of plasma (not really important)

One carded AI (!!! important)

One nuclear auth. disk (not really sure about this one, could change the codes)

One hand teleporter (useless, got it for my own purposes in case of a sticky situation)

One datadisk containing all bluespace research from that station (pretty good)

Station blueprints (not really important)

Basically business as usual. Hope Jeneanne's doing ok.

Best wishes,

Harold

Hegemon Shadow Service

Victory is the Honour

The infiltration of the NanoTrasen research station was a great success, hegemon. In the midst of the great chaos promoted by other enemies and their own crew my victory was granted. Even if my left hand was severely crippled and left useless in past conflicts, a single claw was enough to fool their security and command crew. The AI was carded by the head of security later in the shift, my initials attempts to kill him stealthy failed, but, when the evacuation shuttle was on the way to the station, we fought against each other in a last stand at the parlour before a escape pod. Even if he was a commander among humans, he was killed by a single handed, literally, warrior. The carded AI was retrieved from his dead hands and together with another posibrain which belonged to one of the androids.

With the useless shouts of the carded intelligence I departed from the station with another loyal vassal, and soon to bring my plunder to the lands of the hegemony itself.

On an OOC note, please PM me if your submission has been skipped.

Cigar smoke lazily drifted towards the ceiling, with BIS Director Culbertson drawing a long exhale before addressing the staff present in the meeting.

"We lost a valuable agent today, gentlemen. I hope their sacrifice isn't going to be in vain - there's too much on the line, and we can't acknowledge that they're one of ours without risking all of it. They're on their own until we can spring them out of prison. Their assignment is otherwise a success. We've already seen backlash from the leaks they provided, and my sources say a particular group of congressmen are going to be jailed for embezzlement and illegal use of public funds once we arrange the information to fall into the hands of friendly judges. We'll see this story hit the news pretty soon."

He inhaled again, the tobacco smoke bellowing forth.

"Unfortunately, it's the opinion of the Council that our operations are proceeding too slowly. More intelligence provided by our deep cover agents in Nanotrasen's operations shows plans to influence the upcoming elections. We don't have anything concrete except an unsigned memo smuggled out from the Odin asking the NTIT Department about exploitable bugs in the voting machines. We need to step up our operations and give our agents in the field more freedom. The consequences for failure will be grave..."
