RustingWithYou Posted July 13 Posted July 13 BREAKING: Mudki Under Siege! New Blades, Old Wounds Article 12 Reports coming out of the Zazalais indicate that Hegemony forces have encircled Mudki, and have dug in for a prolonged siege of the city. Troops from Camp Integrity arrived earlier this morning along the city’s old highway, and have joined forces with the warriors who recently captured Fort Ozi to the south. The city’s eastern highway has also been captured, blocking off any avenue of retreat into the Wasteland for the rebel forces. How long the siege will take remains uncertain, particularly if the Hegemon in his wisdom wishes to avoid collateral damage. Mudki is a shell of its former grandeur, but the city stood as the shield of the Hegemony for centuries, and its defenses - and the experience of its remaining warriors in holding those defenses - remain unmatched. As the rebel forces prepare for a prolonged siege, it remains increasingly apparent that the former Lord Izaku has no plans to surrender himself to face justice. However, as the siege of the city has begun, something unusual has occurred, as large numbers of warriors from Zazalai clans have made the long and difficult journey to Mudki - seeking to join with the Hegemon’s forces in crushing the Izaku Rebellion. Flying proudly above the army camp is a standard depicting the Hammer of Iala - a popular image among Zazalai warriors, and the emblem of the Mudki 52nd Infantry, a distinguished regiment which served under the Izaku clan during the Contact War. The Mudki 52nd disbanded after the war’s end, and most of its surviving warriors left the city behind to seek greater prosperity elsewhere. The majority wound up in Res’karum, from where the bulk of their assembled host has come - alongside a significant host of warriors from both the city itself and the mountain clans. Upon their arrival, Ozur’saa Sirax rode out to meet the approaching host, fearing that rebel reinforcements had emerged, and was greeted by the regiment’s former commander, bannerman Yaret Utuzi. Though we were unable to capture footage of their conversation, the 52nd and the assorted Zazalai warriors soon joined with the Izweski host, making camp nearby. Correspondent Kas’van Rizek sought to interview Lord Utuzi, as well as several of the warriors who arrived. Footage has been attached. Quote The camera fades in on the familiar features of Kas’van Rizek, Sinta Articles military correspondent. He stands in a dusty canyon of red-brown stone, surrounded by tents and a swarm of Unathi soldiers going about their business. Before him stands an old Unathi man, leaning on the haft of what looks to be an inactive energy glaive. Subtitles identify him as Armsman Hrok Relzi, Mudki 52nd Infantry. Rizek nods to the camera briefly, before beginning to speak. “Good afternoon, viewers - we are live from the Hegemony’s war camp, within sight of the legendary walls of Mudki. This is the final push of the rebellion, and the forces here have been bolstered by an unusual arrival - several once-disbanded regiments from across the Zazalais, as well as many volunteers from the mountain clans. At the head of this host is the Mudki 52nd Infantry Regiment, who once fought under Juyzi Izaku - I’m here today with Hrok Relzi, an armsman with the 52nd. Armsman Relzi, would you mind sharing why your regiment chose to reform and join this battle?” The old warrior flicks his tongue, looking at the camera. He hisses softly, before speaking in a slow and thick Zazalai accent. “You ever been in a battle, Rizek? Not with a camera, I mean down there, in the mud and the fire. There’s a thing that happens sometimes, with warriors after fighting too long. Go mad. We had a… rule, back in the old days. One of your own goes bad, you put him down, afore he does it to someone else.” Relzi pauses, tail swishing across the stone. “Our Lord was a good man. When the Aeikizo Kingdom marched for Mudki, he wasn’t hiding behind the walls. He was down there, with us. He understood. He was a warrior. This?” He gestures up behind Rizek. The walls of Mudki loom high in the distance, casting the land below in shadow. “These are no warrior’s deeds. Cowardice, murder, treachery. One of your own goes bad, you put him down. Simple as that.” Rizek nods, leaning closer to the microphone. “Is that what all of your fellows feel? It must have taken quite something, to bring a regiment twenty years disbanded back together.” Relzi flicks his tongue. “Some of us. Some just miss having a good fight, I think. Sitting around in Res’karum or S’th or… wherever, pushing crates or guarding doors… no life for a warrior. And some?” He pauses, hissing. “We’re old men, Rizek, but we’re men of the Zazalais. A man should die with his home and his ancestors in sight.” Rizek nods, a somber expression on his face. “Thank you, Armsman Relzi. It is most honorable of you and your regiment to join this fight.” Relzi chuffs, flicking his tail. “Don’t start talking like we’re already dead. Bad luck.” As Relzi leaves, the camera focuses back on Rizek, Mudki’s walls still looming in the background. The reporter turns, looking up at the distant city for a moment. “Soon, it seems that the Izaku Rebellion will be decided - though it remains uncertain what exactly the Izweski forces plan. I will do my best to stay safe, and to keep viewers at home updated on the battle to come.” The camera fades out to the Sinta Articles logo. Expand How the Hegemon intends to approach this siege, and the challenge of capturing a city which has never fallen, remains to be seen. We will, as always, continue to update our readers as this situation develops, and express our hopes that justice is done.
RustingWithYou Posted July 14 Posted July 14 (edited) BREAKING: Mudki's Walls Fall! New Blades, Old Wounds Article 13 Breaking news from Mudki, as it appears the city’s ancient walls have been breached by a combined effort from Izweski armsmen, Naval vessels, and the warriors of the Kataphract Guild. Footage of the assault was captured by our military correspondent, Kas’van Rizek, and has been attached. Viewer discretion is advised. Quote The Sinta Articles logo is displayed for a few moments, before the camera fades in to an Unathi man, wearing a traditional himation cloak and a mantle of the Keepers of Heirlooms under an armored vest. He is standing in what looks like a mountainous environment - all around him are soldiers in the armor of the Izweski Hegemony, as well as what looks like several enormous artillery pieces. A small box at the bottom of the screen identifies him as Kas’van Rizek, Sinta Articles military correspondent. He begins speaking in Sinta’Unathi, with Tau Ceti Basic subtitles displayed across the bottom of the screen. “This just in - I am hearing that mere moments ago, the warriors of the Kataphract Guild have moved into position, and are commencing their role in the assault on Mudki - I’m not sure of the specifics, but-" In the background, several soldiers in the armor of the Izweski Hegemony are pointing up. Rizek turns to look, the camera panning up. The peaks of the Zazalai Mountains stretch into the blue sky, and as the camera zooms forward several small dots can be seen falling. Rizek begins speaking again, the camera remaining focused on the tiny dots - it’s hard to make out at this distance, but a vaguely humanoid outline is visible. “I- I’m getting reports that those are the Kataphracts - they’re dropping in from low-Moghes orbit. Sk’akh’s scales…” The dots continue to fall, the camera zooming in on one of them- the hulking silhouette of an Unathi in a breacher hardsuit can be barely made out now, with some kind of maneuvering jets halting their fall. The helmet’s eyes glow a menacing red. With a roar, the city’s anti-aircraft guns begin firing, Rizek flinching slightly - but the Kataphracts are too small a target, descending too fast. A few of the falling specks are struck, vanishing from the sky in seconds - but the rest continue their descent. The first of the falling warriors vanishes from sight, behind the city’s walls - with dozens of others following suit. The guns continue to fire, as Rizek begins speaking. “I’m trying to get patched in to the radio channel the assault force is using - hopefully, we will be able to get a live update on what’s going on behind the wall-” With a crackle of static, new voices cut in, the subtitles still scrolling. “All Saa’Izweski! This is Knight-Captain Kssighriss speaking! You know our mission - see to your duties! Our Hegemon has given us a task, and even should the stars themselves fall upon our heads we shall see it completed! Honor! Fire! Burn thy fear!” A chorus of voices repeat the Izweski ancestral words, as the camera lingers on the city walls, before cutting back to Rizek. “It appears the Kataphracts have breached the city through a drop from low-Moghes orbit - though in such small numbers, it’s unclear at this time what their mission is. They don’t have the manpower to capture the city, or seize the gates from within, but-” The radio cuts in again, silencing the reporter abruptly. “This is Knight-Captain Kssighriss to HMV Glory of the Dead! Reporting all targets down, you are clear to move in!” A long and pained silence, before finally the radio cuts in again. “Knight-Captain, this is HMV Glory of the Dead, acknowledged. Target confirmed.” Rizek seems confused for a moment, before a strange mood begins to pass over the battlefield. All around, the soldiers are looking up at the sky, seemingly shocked. Rizek follows suit, gazing up and letting out a whispered “Sk’akh almighty…” The camera pans upwards, focusing on a dark silhouette in the sky. Details cannot be made out at this distance - likely the vessel has just entered the upper atmosphere. Rizek regains his composure, turning to the camera. “Viewers, it seems that the Izweski Navy has joined the battle - the Glory is with the First Fleet in orbit. Looking at it now, it seems that the Kataphracts have struck Mudki’s anti-spacecraft defenses, letting vessels move into position. It looks like they’re-” The screen explodes with light, a golden spear striking the city walls - and then another, and another, like the fists of an angry god. All around the battlefield, soldiers shield their eyes, the camera barely able to capture the strike. The walls of Mudki are a black silhouette against the light, the tiny shapes of soldiers atop the walls vanishing in the glare. The silhouette grows more intense, the light brighter, until even the camera can no longer capture it fully. After minutes of this, the light fades. As the dust clears, the camera pans to the city walls - now left in ruins, piles of rubble the only remnant of the Untaken City’s pride. Plumes of black smoke the size of buildings drift upwards from the desolation, as if attempting to grasp their destroyers from the sky. Silence grips the battlefield - all around, Izweski soldiers are staring ahead, each one seemingly unable to speak a word. Rizek slowly dusts himself off, seemingly regaining his composure - but not before the radio crackles to life again. A familiar voice - Hrok Relzi, armsman of Mudi’s 52nd Infantry. “Warriors of the Izweski, forward! Today, we show the Spur the price of treachery!” The soldiers around Rizek begin advancing, and the silence is broken by a sound like rolling thunder - their own artillery firing on the now-defenseless city. Whatever muteness had gripped the warriors vanishes, as a thousand battle cries are called out. Rizek looks back to the camera, clearly shaken from the bombardment. “The walls have fallen- I repeat, the walls have fallen. I’m moving into the city with the Izweski armsmen present - I will do my best to keep you updated, and to stay safe.” The camera fades to the Sinta Articles logo, before the broadcast ends. Expand Though some have protested the destruction of the city’s ancient walls, once thought impregnable, our military analysts have assured us that a conventional ground assault would have resulted in catastrophic casualties for the warriors on the ground. Though there is still fighting in the city, we hope that soon the Izweski forces will be victorious, and order will be restored. Edited July 14 by RustingWithYou actually writing the article
RustingWithYou Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Izaku Rebellion Brought To An End! New Blades, Old Wounds Article 14 The Izaku Rebellion has come to an end, after hours of intense and bloody battle within the city. Earlier today, after fierce fighting from his followers, several Kataphract warriors were able to breach the Izaku keep, and confront the traitor Juyzi Izaku directly. We have confirmed reports that though he fought ferociously, killing at least one Kataphract in his bloodlust and injuring several more, Izaku was captured by the valiant warriors. We were able to receive a brief statement from a Kataphract warrior being treated for injuries, who stated that despite Izaku’s cowardice and dishonor, “he faced us as a warrior.” The city of Mudki remains occupied by Izweski armsmen, as members of the humanitarian programme will be moving to provide assistance to soldiers and civilians injured during the fighting. Thankfully, casualties among the Izweski armsmen assaulting the city were minimal, in no small part thanks to the heroism of the Kataphracts and the in-depth knowledge of the city’s defenses provided by the warriors of the 52nd. The future of Mudki and the surrounding lands remains unclear. Though the population was already greatly diminished, the region is now left without a ruler, as the once-storied line of Izaku will likely soon be extinguished when the disgraced former Lord stands trial. Whether Hegemon Not’zar will appoint a new Lord of Mudki, or allow the city to be abandoned entirely, remains to be seen. Reports have come in of humanitarian program vessels landing in the city and providing assistance to those injured in the fighting. We at Sinta Articles would like to offer our gratitude to the warriors of the Kataphract Guild, the Navy and the Izweski levies, who have fought bravely to keep the peace of our great nation intact. We also offer our condolences to those harmed by the fighting, and hope that the humanitarian program will be able to assist. As always, we will keep our readers updated on the situation in Mudki as it develops. Spirits bless the Hegemony, and our friends and partners from both the Nralakk Federation and Hephaestus Industries.
RustingWithYou Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Humanitarian Program Sets Sights On Mudki! New Blades, Old Wounds Article 15 Following the Mudki Rebellion and the capture of the traitor Juyzi Izaku, many worried that the city and surrounding region would be left to ruin, given the difficulties of maintaining the city due to the encroaching Wasteland and the damage left by the battle. Fortunately, however, it seems that this is not the case, with the Hegemon declaring that Mudki, and the wider Zazalai Mountains, will form the beginnings of a true restoration for Moghes, with the aid of our allies in the Nralakk Federation. Corporate and Federation vessels have already sent aid to Mudki following the battle, with medical assistance and supplies being provided to the locals. Though the city remains under military occupation for now, the office of the Hegemon’s Claws has reassured our correspondents that this is a temporary measure, until a new lord can be properly appointed over Mudki. Attached is a photograph of a medical tent. Several Skrell workers in Federation uniforms are gathered outside, with an Unathi leaning on a cane standing next to them, waving happily at the camera. The corporate assistance in humanitarian efforts in Mudki cannot be understated, with Hephaestus providing millions of credits in material aid, and pledging to see the city rebuilt to what it once was prior to the devastation that the Contact War, and years of mismanagement from the craven and corrupt former Lord, have wrought upon the region. Workers from the wider Stellar Corporate Conglomerate were also present, providing medical, food, and supply aid to the people who have suffered long enough under the former Lord Izaku’s misrule. Attached is a photograph of a long table, with what looks like food cooking in the background. Several corporate workers, mostly human and Unathi, are handing out meals to a long line of Unathi. The flag of the Izweski Hegemony is flying proudly in the background. Though the first weeks of the humanitarian effort have been fraught with danger, it seems that the kindness of our friends across the stars has persisted. We at Sinta Articles offer our deepest thanks to the members of the humanitarian programme, and their efforts in restoring order to the region. As always, we will keep our readers updated on any new developments. 3
RustingWithYou Posted July 28 Posted July 28 (edited) Juyzi Izaku Found Guilty, Executed New Blades, Old Wounds Article 16 Following his capture and trial, former Lord of Mudki Juyzi Izaku has been found guilty of the charges laid against him. For the crimes of murder, sabotage of vital national resources, dishonor in the gravest of forms, and high treason against his liege lord, Izaku was sentenced to death by order of the Hegemon earlier today. The execution was carried out in Mudki - despite his titles being stripped, Izaku was granted execution by beheading, rather than hanging or firing squad. The execution was not public, due to concerns about remaining rebels attempting to mount a rescue. Izaku did not attempt to mount a defense during his trial, electing to remain silent throughout the proceedings. With his death, the once-honored Izaku clan is extinguished. Discussions among the nobility have reportedly already begun as to who Hegemon Not’zar intends to elevate to rule Mudki, as it seems increasingly unlikely that the city will be abandoned. The Hegemon himself has made no comment on the matter yet - whatever he plans for Mudki remains a mystery. For now, Mudki remains under military occupation. Trials are continuing for rebel warriors - most of the levied and conscripted men have been granted some measure of clemency, though they are forbidden from taking up arms until the military occupation ends. Most notably, the captured perpetrators of the Izilukh Massacre have been found guilty of murder and dishonorable deeds. Several of the Izilukh murderers were hanged this morning, with the remainder likely facing execution later this week. The Nralakk Federation delegation declined an interview, but offered a brief statement describing the executions as "A conflicting conclusion to what has happened. The Federation mourns those we have lost, yet we cannot condone executing those responsible. The Grand Council appreciates that the laws of the Hegemony are not our laws, however, and is grateful to the Hegemon for bringing these criminals to justice." Mudki itself has remained largely peaceful so far - a madman such as Izaku seems to have inspired few to true loyalty. Though the cost of this rebellion has been bitter, it seems that a resurgence of fighting is thankfully unlikely, in a land which has already seen too much death. We will keep our readers updated on the situation in Mudki as it develops - remember, for Sinta news Spur-wide, stick to the source you know you can trust. Stick to Sinta Articles. RustingWithYou Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Mudki Restoration Efforts Begin! New Blades, Old Wounds Epilogue A historic day today, as a joint effort between the Hegemony, Hephaestus Industries and the Nralakk Federation has been announced in Mudki, the site of the cowardly rebellion of Juyzi Izaku. Skrell scientists, Hephaestus resources, and Hegemonic oversight have come together, with Hegemon Not’zar making a public speech in Mudki declaring the beginning of ‘a true restoration’. A transcript of the speech is available on our Extranet page, as well as full video footage of the event, which has been attached below. Subtitles are available in Sinta’Unathi, Tau Ceti Basic, and Nral’malic. Quote The camera displays the Sinta Articles logo a moment, before fading in to a shot of Not’zar Izweski, standing on a stage with the recognisable silhouette of the Izaku keep rising in the background. The sun appears to be setting, giving the entire scene a pale golden glow. Standing beside the Hegemon are three other figures - two immediately recognisable to those familiar with Unathi politics as Overlord Azui Hutay’zai and Guildmaster Yukal T’zakal respectively. The third figure is a pale green Skrell, with shoulder-length headtails and a neatly-braided set of tuux growths on their face. The Hegemon steps forward, looking out over a crowd of Unathi. A few Izweski flags can be seen waving in the crowd. He rests one claw on the podium, pausing a moment before beginning his address. “My citizens. My vassals. My friends. We have endured much in the past years - war. Famine. Economic depression. It has been a dark time not just for the people of Moghes, who have suffered greatly - but for all Sinta, and all citizens of this great nation, the Hegemony of my forefathers. The aid of our friends at Hephaestus was invaluable in bringing an end to rationing - but it is now, with the implementation of the humanitarian programme, that we can truly begin to declare a return to peace and prosperity.” He gestures to T’zakal as he mentions Hephaestus, before turning to the Skrell. “Allow me to introduce Qriixi Vol’Kluu - the Nralakk Federation’s newly-appointed ambassador to the Izweski Hegemony. They will be instrumental in the future of our nations’ mutual cooperation, and have taken up residence in the recently-completed embassy in Skalamar. With the aid of Overlord Hutay’zai, my Master of Rivers, we can work to ensure that restoration efforts are properly supplied and equipped.” He pauses a moment, silence gripping the crowd. “I have said that word a lot - ‘restoration’. I do not speak figuratively. With Sinta innovation, Skrell and Vaurca research, and Hephaestus resources, we will redouble our efforts to mend the wounds of the Contact War at last - and that will begin right here in Mudki. Your lord may have been a traitor, but your Hegemon will not abandon you, or the people of this land. Mudki will not be left as a ruin, but as a shining monument to our victory - the place where the Sinta’Unathi took back their world!” The Hegemon’s words are met with applause, and he waits for it to die down before continuing. “The brightest scientists from the Hegemony and Federation alike will be headquartered here, working to restore this city and region to life - a blueprint for what is to come! I will say this, here and now - we will see the Wasteland bloom once again, and this is where it starts! It starts here, with each and every one of you - not solely a project of mine, or even of the nation’s - but an effort that spans the stars themselves! The crowd cheers, louder this time, as the Hegemon gestures out at the citizens of Mudki. “These have been dark years, even before the Izaku Rebellion. Some have said to me that this could be the fall of the Izweski Hegemony in its entirety, and in my moments of greatest weakness… I could not help but consider that they may be correct. But I have stayed the course, and I see now that this is not our fall, but our rise!” He lifts one hand, gesturing up to the sky. “The adversity we have faced has been a crucible, and from it we shall rise to claim our destiny - to restore our world, and to claim an empire that spans the stars! The days ahead will be days of hard work, and they will require great diligence from each of us - but they will be days of glory! When the scholars look back on these years, to chronicle my rule when my bones are dust - they will call this a golden age for the Unathi people, as we claimed our place in the universe!” The crowd erupts with cheering, as the Hegemon looks out over his people. As the camera pans over the crowd, a chant begins, several of the more enthusiastic citizens beginning it, and most others joining in - though a few faces, notably, remain silent. “Long live the Hegemon!” cries the crowd, the words repeating ever louder as the delegation stands there, the dim twilight bathing the entire affair in an ethereal glow. The words repeat, called out over and over, as the camera fades out to the Sinta Articles logo - before the video ends. Expand Already, scientists from the Nralakk Federation have arrived, alongside the finest of Sinta and K’laxan researchers working on Wasteland reclamation projects. Hephaestus Industries has been expanding operations in Mudki enormously, working to repair the city’s ancient walls, as well as the historic buildings destroyed in the battle. It seems that Mudki is poised to be the linchpin of future reclamation efforts, and only time will tell for sure whether the Hegemon’s efforts will succeed. We at Sinta Articles wish the best of fortune to those working to reclaim our world, and pray that they are successful. As always, we will keep our readers updated on further news of relevance to Sinta affairs. 2
Desven Posted October 11 Posted October 11 The Tretian Guild Presents Online Tret Store War in Heaven, Part Four: “The Quality of Mercy,” Article 1 Yesterday, the acting guildmaster of the Tretian Guild, Queen Vedhra, unveiled a new online commerce platform—Tret’skerret, known as “InstaTret” in Basic. Under the slogan “Tret Yourself,” InstaTret aims to serve extranet users looking to shop for a variety of affordable products produced on Tret, the Hegemony’s superfactory. According to statistics released by Hephaestus Industries during its second quarter of 2466, Tret produces over ten thousand different components distributed across the Orion Spur, with many products built, assembled, and finished at the superfactory itself. While Tret’s gross yearly revenue remains undisclosed, the planet has been instrumental in the recovery of the Hegemony’s economy. A spokesperson for the Tretian Guild, Ka’Akaix’Jujon K’lax, stated that InstaTret's goal is to “empower customers across the Orion Spur by cutting out the middleman, while continuing to boost the economy of the Izweski Nation.” Queen Vedhra announced the launch of InstaTret during her visit to Moghes. Rather than addressing the press directly, her recorded message was presented alongside a visual presentation at a press conference held by Hephaestus Industries, which focused on the growth of the guilds. Hegemon Not’zar Izweski also attended the event. When asked by Sinta Articles about InstaTret’s prospects, the Hegemon remarked, “It is an exciting opportunity and a necessary step for our economy. The K’lax Hive has proven to be instrumental allies during this period, and the future of the Hegemony appears bright.” The Tretian Guild is not classified as one of the guilds acquired by Hephaestus Industries. However, it is currently co-managed by Hephaestus agents and the K’lax Hive. Guildmaster Yukal T’zakal reported that the megacorporation will be “heavily involved” in the day-to-day operations of InstaTret and that Orion Express will be the primary carrier service for product deliveries. InstaTret is currently available throughout the Izweski Hegemony and the Republic of Biesel. An expansion into the Valley Hale region and parts of the Coalition of Colonies is planned for early 2467. InstaTret offers over 12 product lines, including apparel, consumer electronics, sporting goods, and furniture—all positioned to be accessible to a wide range of customers. First-time buyers can use the promo code ILOVETRET to receive an 81% discount off their entire purchase. Their website can be visited here. 1
Caelphon Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Aeikuzo Welcomed Back to the Hegemony They Who Hath Become Lord Article #1 In a bold manoeuvre signalling the Hegemony’s renewed commitment to the reclamation of Moghes, Hegemon Not'zar Izweski has requested the return of renowned xenobiologist Lady Zhelmi Aeikuzo to spearhead efforts against the rapidly deteriorating Wasteland. The call comes after months of increasing pressure on the Izweski Hegemony to address the environmental disaster that has ravaged entire regions, displacing millions and rendering vast swathes of land infertile. A renowned scholar and former lecturer at the Skalamar University of Medicine, Lady Aeikuzo is widely acknowledged as one of Spur’s foremost experts on Dionae biology and culture and has published several fundamental works on the nature of Diona symbiosis. She was reported to have departed Moghes in 2462, following controversial disputes with the former High Priest Unzi and the expulsion of her former research partner, one Tarskin Tarwa, for violation of the University’s Code of Scientific Honour. According to sources close to the Court, Lady Aeikuzo has been specifically summoned to advise the Hegemon on the development of a new, large-scale initiative to combat the Wasteland’s expansion. "Her expertise is unmatched," one official was quoted as saying, "and with the resources of the Hegemony fully behind her, this could be our last and best chance at turning the tide." The Hegemon’s decision, however, has not come without controversy. Aeikuzo’s views on Unathi-Diona symbiosis have long been a point of contention, with many traditionalists in the Sk’akh Church continuing to label her ideas heretical, even after the formal withdrawal of her heresy charges. Her return to Moghes could reignite those tensions within the aristocracy and clergy. Nevertheless, many within the common populace have rallied in support of the Hegemon’s decision. Her reputation as one of the foremost academics on Dionae is renowned, even if her methods evoke fear. "She’s the only one who can save Moghes," said a worker from Skalamar, "Without her, the Wasteland will consume us all." Hegemon Not’zar’s decision to recall Aeikuzo could also signify a shift in the Hegemony’s approach to the Wasteland crisis, and potentially, its relationship with the Dionae. Speculation has already begun that the Hegemon is preparing to grant Lady Aeikuzo greater authority over the reclamation process, possibly elevating the status of Dionae within the Hegemony itself. Some insiders believe that this could mark the beginning of a new era of Unathi-Dionae cooperation—one where Dionae are seen not merely as tools for reclamation but as full partners in the survival and renewal of Moghes. As the situation develops, all eyes will be on the Lady of Thorns. Her return promises not only a renewed effort to heal the Wasteland but also a possible reshaping of Moghes itself, one that could blur the lines between Unathi and Dionae in ways that were once unthinkable. Whether this will lead to salvation or further conflict remains to be seen. Stay tuned to Sinta Articles for further updates on this evolving story. Caelphon Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Hegemon Not’zar Izweski Seeks Taarazi They Who Hath Become Lord Article #2 In a move towards confronting the escalating environmental crisis across Moghes, Hegemon Not’zar Izweski has initiated a search for Taarazi, once again. Following discussions with Zhelmi Aeikuzo, the Hegemon was resolute announcing an intention to tackle the growing Wasteland and the problems presented by its insidious scar on Moghes. In recent years, the Wasteland has worsened, with entire communities displaced and valuable agricultural land being rendered unusable. Previous attempts at containment and remediation have been met with limited success, leading to increasing pressure on the Hegemon to take action. Taarazi, also known as the Silent Friend Embracing The Weeping Souls In A Blanket Of Purity And Love, is an Argus-form Dionae that has become a notable figure on Moghes. Their size alone, as one of the first Argus-sized Dionae encountered on the planet, sets them apart, but their importance goes far beyond physical stature. Taarazi’s contributions are not limited to symbolism, however. The nymphs they cultivate have become instrumental in assisting irradiated villages, specifically for radiation cleanup. Taarazi chose to remain in the Wasteland village where they were originally discovered, living among the Sinta and becoming something of a local legend. Taarazi is suspected to be sought by the Hegemon due to their presence within the Wasteland, performing low-activity rehabilitation of the Wasteland, which saw considerable success in comparison to the current terraforming machinery being utilized by the Izweski Hegemony. Taarazi has largely been living in seclusion among the Wasteland Clans following their previous retrieval. Many have already claimed that their work within the Wasteland should be cited as a benchmark in the field, believing they are among the ones capable of enacting action to solve the growing Wasteland, especially alongside Aeizuko. The Hegemon has remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the search and what role Taarazi will play provided they are found. Sources close to the Court suggest that the Hegemon is considering granting Taarazi “a previously unprecedented authority over the reclamation of the Wasteland”, a move that would signal the Hegemon’s commitment to resolving the crisis, but further recognition of Dionae within the Hegemony as being more than residents of Moghes. We will continue to monitor the story closely, providing our readers with the latest developments.
Caelphon Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Taarzai Found: Taken to Skalamar They Who Hath Become Lord Article #3 Following a week of intensive searching, Taarazi has been found and escorted to Skalamar to engage in discussions with the Hegemon and Aeikuzo. This marks a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to address the Wasteland that has gripped Moghes. Taarazi was located in a remote, undisclosed location, where they’d been residing since their initial recovery years ago. Their whereabouts had been a closely guarded secret, known only to a few trusted confidants, particularly to prevent any undue harm befalling the Gestalt. The search, spearheaded by the Hegemon’s Spymaster, culminated in a carefully planned operation to bring the Dionae to Skalamar without drawing undue attention or risking their safety. Upon arrival in Skalamar, Taarazi was immediately taken to the Hegemon’s palace, where the Dionae was greeted with respect and honour. Sources within the Hegemon’s Palace report that the initial meeting between Taarazi, Aeizuko and the Hegemon was cordial, with the parties expressing a shared commitment to resolving the crisis. The discussions, which are expected to continue over the coming days, will focus on the development of a strategy to halt the spread of the Wasteland and begin the process of reclamation. The news of Taarazi’s return has been met with a mix of relief and anticipation across the Izweski Hegemony. For many, Taarazi represents the best hope for saving the affected regions from total devastation. Their previous successes in similar endeavours, even small, has cemented his reputation and there is widespread confidence that they will once again rise to the challenge. However, the decision to recover Taarazi is not without its critics. Some within the nobility have expressed concerns about the potential for political upheaval, given the current presence of Dionae within the Hegemony. Others worry that even with the hope of Taarazi’s expertise, the situation may have already reached a point where it is beyond salvaging. Despite these concerns, the urgency of the situation has left little room for hesitation. The Wasteland continues to expand, displacing thousands and threatening vital resources. Time is of the essence, and the Hegemon’s swift action in securing Taarazi has been widely praised, even across the Wasteland. As discussions continue in Skalamar, the Hegemony waits with bated breath, hopeful that a solution will soon be within reach. The stakes could not be higher, and the coming days will likely prove critical in determining the future of the southern territories. Sinta Articles will keep you updated on this unfolding story.
Caelphon Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) Miners’ Guild Hired for Surveying They Who Hath Become Lord Article #4 In a move that marks a significant turning point for the reclamation of the Wasteland, the Miners' Guild has been tasked with an ambitious new mission as part of Project Viridis, a multi-pronged effort to restore large tracts of land to the Hegemony’s control. Under the direct authority of the Master of Rivers, the Guild is surveying regions in the Northern and Western Wastelands to locate water sources, fertile soil, and strategic terrain for settlements, with a particular focus on aquifers and mineral deposits. This undertaking aims to support a sustainable future for Unathi communities that are still struggling to reclaim what was lost during the Contact War. The Master of Rivers, well known for overseeing economic resources tied to aquaculture and fisheries, has recognized that the Wasteland’s redemption depends not just on labour and cultivation but on vital natural resources like water. Guildmasters, engineers, and leading geologists have been dispatched to scout and mark regions that could be key hubs of future agricultural and industrial growth. This effort reflects a shift in the Miners’ Guild’s traditional role. Historically focused on resource extraction, their expertise is now being channelled into environmental restoration efforts. The Guild is responsible not only for mining operations but also for seeking out and analysing underground water reservoirs, ensuring a lifeline for future settlements. One major goal of the project is to locate natural aquifers capable of supporting future populations. However, not all are optimistic. Some Wasteland communities view this expansion with suspicion. They worry about their way of life being eroded, especially as territories they’ve historically occupied come under the Hegemony’s control. The question of whether the surveyors will meet resistance remains to be seen, but the Master of Rivers and the various guildsmen are prepared for whatever obstacles may arise. The Guild has expressed its preference for negotiation over force but has been granted authority to ensure Project Viridis is realized. Sinta Articles will keep you updated on this unfolding story. Caelphon Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Master of the River Announces First Site They Who Hath Become Lord Article #6 The Miner’s Guild has announced that the ruins of Lazhi have been approved following extensive surveys and geological analysis, the Guild has determined that the once-devastated city, north of Bahard, is suitable for sustained habitation – with this approval, preparations will soon commence beginning the monumental task of constructing the centre of Project Viridis, and a beacon of hope for the Hegemony’s future. In the coming weeks, Hephaestus Industries will mobilize thousands of labourers to begin the foundational work. Early phases of construction will focus on establishing infrastructure to support both workers and future inhabitants, with particular attention on the finer details to amplify Project Viridis’ potential, which still has yet to be revealed fully. The Master of the River for the Hegemon has begun talks with the Construction Coalition, opting for additional concrete brutalism and wooden structures, to expedite the process of reclamation. The decision was made to allow work to commence as quickly as possible. The brutalist approach will add to the city’s foundational structures that already exist. Combined with the use of wood, this will not only reduce the time required for construction but also offer a distinct contrast from the Hegemony’s other settlements across Moghes. Hephaestus Industries, in charge of much of the physical labour, will be mobilizing its workforce in the coming weeks to begin laying the concrete foundations for the city. Early structures will include worker housing, logistical centres, and basic public buildings. These simple, robust designs will allow the site to be operational sooner, providing space for the thousands who are expected to flock to the development – both sent by the Hegemony, and those fleeing the growing Wastelands. Despite the temporary nature of these early buildings, the site is expected to develop quickly. As more permanent and elaborate structures are added over time, the settlement’s designs will intertwine with the wood-and-concrete framework. This careful layering of styles will allow the city to grow organically, all while ensuring its immediate inhabitants have the facilities they need to support the ongoing work. With the site confirmed and a practical construction plan in place, Lazhi’s transformation is now set to begin. Sinta Articles will keep you updated on this unfolding story.
Caelphon Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Construction Coalition Given Charter for Second Site They Who Hath Become Lord Article #7 In the latest development of Project Viridis, the site for a new settlement in the western region has been officially selected. The Construction Coalition, in collaboration with Hephaestus Industries, has been granted the charter to begin work on this frontier settlement, with construction expected to commence shortly. This settlement will serve as a vital hub for coordinating efforts to reclaim the surrounding Wasteland around Teht, reinforcing the Hegemony’s presence in the region – as well as attempting to keep the growing Wasteland at bay. To expedite the process, the settlement will follow a similar architectural strategy to others in Project Viridis, featuring concrete brutalism for essential infrastructure and wooden buildings to form the backbone of the settlement. This combination will ensure rapid construction while providing durable, functional structures to support the future population – provided Project Viridis is successful. Using information provided by the Miner's Guild along with the Construction Coalition and Hephaestus Industries, planners were able to design a blueprint that could survive the natural environment as well as external factors, ensuring the land is stable and risk-free. It was also possible to construct the concrete brutalist structures that comprise the core of the settlement using locally sourced stone and minerals based on this analysis. With a steady supply of raw materials, the Guild has been able to significantly reduce logistical challenges, allowing construction to proceed more smoothly. The selected site for a western settlement under Project Viridis may serve a dual purpose, sparking speculation about its future role within the Hegemony. While the primary goal of the settlement is to aid in the reclamation of the surrounding Wasteland, recent discussions between the Hegemon and the Hegemon's Claws have led many to believe that the settlement will evolve into a significant military compound. These conversations, though not officially confirmed, suggest that the settlement could play a role in securing the Hegemony's western borders and solidifying control over the reclaimed regions. This potential dual-purpose nature of the settlement would align with its strategic location near key transportation routes and other elements of Project Viridis. Reports leaked from the Miner's Guild have confirmed that the land is ideal for both civilian and military use, providing ample space for expansion and defence infrastructure. With the involvement of the Hegemon's Claws, there are expectations that military fortifications could be integrated into the settlement's design, including training grounds, barracks, and defensive structures to protect against external threats.
Caelphon Posted November 16 Posted November 16 Reclamation of the Northern Wasteland They Who Hath Become Lord Article #8 In a bold move to curve the monopoly that Canyon City has north of Skalamar, the Hegemon has given his approval of the proposed settlement by the Miner’s Guild – the ambitious project is planned to be located within the mountains north of Skalamar, near a vast subterranean aquifer, which was discovered following extensive geological assessments that also yielded rich natural resources untouched by Unathi. The Construction Coalition, alongside Hephaestus Industries, have already been given approval for the commencement of construction for the proposed settlement, however, official work will only commence when a detailed site survey is done to ensure the stability of the rock formations while protecting the aquifer. In keeping with the need for quick expansion and resource-efficient construction, wooden prefabs will be deployed for initial residential and industrial structures, alongside concrete brutalism architecture, to create a functional, sustainable city capable of accommodating the potential workforce and its industrial needs. A spokesperson for Hephaestus Industries stated, “The site represents a significant step forward in developing the Northern Wasteland. The region’s mining and water resources have vast untapped potential, and the infrastructure we’re planning will make this area an economic powerhouse among the ruins.” The actual value of the proposed settlement lies beneath the Wasteland – its proximity to the massive underground aquifer. Water from this source is expected to be a vital lifeline for both the settlement and other local communities – ending the monopoly held by Canyon City, which the settlement seeks to challenge, which comes as a subtle attempt by the Hegemon to begin not only reclaiming the Wasteland physically but uniting Unathi under a unified banner once again. With industrial activity expected to attract a surge of workers and settlers, particularly thanks to its close proximity to Skalamar, the city is projected to grow rapidly once initial construction is complete. However, despite its advantages, the terrain’s harshness and the complexities of maintaining an environmentally sustainable balance around the aquifer have raised concerns. Furthermore, the settlement’s intended aim of unseating the water monopoly is likely to cause tensions to flare within the northern Wasteland, particularly with historically dominant players in the region’s water trade. With the initial construction scheduled to be completed in the coming weeks, all eyes will be on the groundbreaking project as it takes shape and is poised to become a cornerstone of Project Viridis.
Caelphon Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Aeikuzo Appointed as Lady-Governor of Viridis They Who Hath Become Lord Article #9 Zhelmi Aeikuzo is expected to be officially appointed as the Lady-Governor of the Viridis – the term used for the upcoming reclamation regions within the Wasteland. The position, offered by Hegemon Not’zar himself, will place Aeikuzo at the helm of the reclamation of Lazhi and marks a decisive step in the efforts of the Hegemon to heal Moghes’ ravaged Wasteland – despite her controversial career. Though characterised by both brilliance and resistance to traditional norms, her later work and publications have garnered widespread acclaim, and she has built a formidable reputation across the Spur. Now, as Lady-Governor, Aeikuzo has announced the finer details of Project Viridis. With the growing Wasteland threatening the Izweski Hegemony, Aeikuzo has devised a plan to utilize the terraforming abilities of Dionae on a more widespread basis – akin to the work being done on Pactolus. As one of the foremost scholars on Dionae Biology within the Orion Spur, Aeikuzo seeks to push for the largest Dionae-driven reclamation effort to be successful, and pushing the species beyond what is currently known – and the integration of Dionae will allow for the region to be revitalized with greater efficiency and sustainability, than what is being seen with the established terraforming machinery across Moghes. Her previous critics, who long accused her of blasphemy for her views, now find themselves facing an undeniable reality: her knowledge could be crucial to the survival of the Unathi in a world that must be adapted for their survival. Though public opinion on her appointment remained divided, many within the Wasteland see her as a beacon of hope and the start of a long-awaiting healing process. It is clear from Not'zar's appointment with Aeikuzo that the Hegemony is moving in a new direction, one in which adaptability and radical change are not just valued but crucial. Aeikuzo, Lady-Governor of Lazhi, is expected to make her formal appointment in the coming weeks, after which she will begin her monumental task of reclaiming Lazhi, making it a beacon of renewed hope in the Wasteland. Aeikuzo will be under scrutiny as she navigates not only the physical transformation of the land but also the political landscape of the Hegemony as she assumes her new role.
Caelphon Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Lady-Governor has Traveled to Lazhi They Who Hath Become Lord Article #10 Today, Lady-Governor Zhelmi Aeikuzo has formally taken residence in the somewhat reclaimed city of Lazhi for a week, marking the start of her direct stewardship over the restoration project. Her arrival signals the next phase in the creation of “the Garden,” her ambitious vision for a new capital of the Viridis. Lady-Governor Aeikuzo has decided to grow and raise Dionae specifically designed for certain roles within the Viridis. These Dionae will be trained and cultivated to perform a variety of tasks essential to the reclamation and the further development of Project Viridis. From cleaning residual radiation to aiding in agriculture, urban planning, and even public administration, each Dionae will be carefully nurtured to fulfil predetermined roles in the Lady-Governor’s grand design. Critics argue that Aeikuzo’s program borders on exploitation, with some concerned that raising Dionae with predefined duties undermines their autonomy. However, supporters point out that this method ensures efficiency, in that Dionae will be aware of how to contribute to the Viridis, as opposed to not being capable of performing to the Hegemon’s plan. Aeikuzo herself has remained unapologetic, stating in a recent address: “The Dionae are a part of this planet’s future, as much as we Unathi. They are both our partners and our stewards, guiding Moghes to heal. We must embrace that partnership in full.” Taraazi has joined the Lady-Governor on her journey to Lazhi and is reportedly said to be the “origin” gestalt from which the Dionae she intends to grow, and subsequently raise, shall be from. Sources close to the Hegemon have confirmed that Taraazi is going to have a substantial role within Project Viridis, besides being a donor for the Lady-Governor, with some even suggesting that the Hegemon is going to great lengths to rapidly accelerate the integration of Dionae so as to encourage reclamation of the Wasteland. The Garden, which will serve as the Lady-Governor’s Palace, and the nerve center for the reclamation effort, has become the focal point of Aeikuzo’s work. She will oversee the growing and development of Dionae from within the Garden’s halls, with gestalts being raised in a manner tailored to meet the needs of the Viridis. This unprecedented program will also give Aeikuzo greater control over the direction of Wasteland reclamation projects, as many of the Dionae she cultivates will be deployed across the Viridis in future endeavors. For now, the future of Lazhi and the Viridis rests in Aeikuzo’s hands. With the Dionae at her side, cultivated under her watchful eye, the transformation of the Viridis has only just begun.
Caelphon Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Dionae Grown in the Lazhi Garden They Who Hath Become Lord Article #11 In a highly anticipated announcement, Lady-Governor Zhelmi Aeikuzo has revealed the successful growth of two new Dionae in her Garden of Lazhi, specifically cultivated to serve critical roles within the Viridis. The gestalts, grown from the genetic lineage of the famed Argus-form Diona, Taarazi, represent the next step in Aeikuzo’s ambitious plan to reclaim Moghes’ Wastelands. These Dionae, who have yet to be formally appointed to any roles, have been designed with carefully selected genetic material, tailored to serve specific functions in the Viridis. The process of cultivating these gestalts is part of Aeikuzo’s broader initiative to grow Dionae with specialized skills, ensuring that they will be perfectly suited to the tasks they will be assigned. One of the gestalts, tentatively named Steadfast Guardian of a World Reborn Against All Harm or Malfeasance, has been developed using genetic material from renowned Unathi warriors. The intention behind this cultivation is to create a gestalt that excels in martial discipline, leadership, and security. Aeikuzo’s plans for Steadfast Guardian will focus on ensuring the stability and protection of key settlements in the southern Wastelands, a region frequently targeted by raiders and subject to lawlessness. With its combat expertise, Steadfast Guardian is expected to be a formidable force, capable of upholding order and defending the Viridis against external threats. The second gestalt, Ephemeral Connections Formed Upon Silent Shores, has been crafted with a focus on diplomacy, negotiation, and administration. Infused with the genetic material of Unathi traders, diplomats, and scholars, Ephemeral Connections is expected to play a pivotal role in managing the economic and social aspects of the reclamation efforts. The northern Wasteland, where Ephemeral Connections is expected to be stationed, has shown great potential for growth due to mineral reserves and water trade routes. The gestalt’s diplomatic skills will be critical in fostering cooperation with local Wasteland communities and external investors, ensuring the economic prosperity of the Viridis. “The growth of these Dionae is a significant milestone in our reclamation efforts,” Lady-Governor Aeikuzo stated. “Their genetic material has been carefully selected to ensure they are not only capable but exceptional in their roles. They represent the future of the Viridis, and their work will extend far beyond individual settlements—they will serve the greater good of Moghes itself.” While their formal appointments are yet to be determined, the roles these gestalts will play within the Viridis are clear. Steadfast Guardian will act as a protector, ensuring safety and stability in the southern Wastelands, while Ephemeral Connections will focus on building relationships, fostering trade, and expanding the economic reach of the northern regions. This method of growing Dionae with specific purposes has sparked both excitement and debate. Advocates of Aeikuzo’s approach believe that cultivating gestalts with targeted skills will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the reclamation efforts. However, critics argue that this process, by genetically determining their roles before they are fully formed, could limit the autonomy and growth potential of the Dionae. Nevertheless, the Lady-Governor remains undeterred. “These gestalts will serve a purpose greater than themselves,” she remarked. “Their growth is a testament to the possibilities that lie ahead for Moghes. In time, their work will help heal the land and bring us closer to the future we strive to build.” As the Dionae continue their development within the Garden of Lazhi, all eyes are on the Lady-Governor’s next steps. The success of these purpose-bred gestalts could very well shape the future of the Viridis and determine the fate of the Wastelands.
Yonnimer Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Hegemon Appoints Lords Verdant They Who Hath Become Lord Article #12 In a grand, highly anticipated ceremony held in Skalamar, Hegemon Not’zar Izweski has officially appointed three new Dionae Lords to oversee critical roles in the Viridis reclamation project, which aims to restore the devasted Wasteland. Broadcasted across Moghes, it served as a symbolic moment in the Hegemony’s efforts to heal war-torn Moghes, and the growing importance of Dionae within the Hegemony. They shall serve as Lord Verdant of their regions, and be entrusted with the same power and responsibilities as other Lords within the Hegemony. Hegemon Not'zar Izweski presided over the ceremony, held at the Grand Court of the Izweski Palace in Skalamar. Dressed in formal robes and flanked by his advisors, the Hegemon spoke of the significance of the reclamation project and the role the Dionae will play in shaping the future of Moghes. “The time for renewal has come. These Lords are not only stewards of the land but symbols of the unity. Together, we will be led into a new era of growth and harmony.” Lady-Governor Zhelmi Aeikuzo, the architect behind the Viridis reclamation, was also present at the ceremony and praised for her groundbreaking work in cultivating the Dionae. Her success in growing these specialized gestalts from the genetic lineage of Taarazi is seen as a notable achievement. Though Aeikuzo remains in charge of the overall project, her newly appointed Lords will manage day-to-day operations, overseeing the Viridis regions in the Wasteland. The entire event was broadcast across Moghes, with residents of the Moghes and beyond watching as the Dionae were formally given their titles. The ceremony featured solemn declarations by each of the Lords, pledging their unwavering loyalty to the Hegemon, and the greater Izweski Hegemony. Steadfast Guardian of a World Reborn Against All Harm or Malfeasance has been appointed as Lord Verdant of Ihaliz, the settlement in the southern Wasteland due to its strategic importance. Steadfast Guardian has been infused with the genetic knowledge of warriors and military strategists, making them uniquely suited to their role in defending the settlement from external threats, such as Gawgaryn raiders. Their martial expertise will ensure the stability and security needed for Ihaliz to thrive as a reclaimed stronghold. Ephemeral Connections Formed Upon Silent Shores has been granted the position of Lord Verdant of Rehus, a burgeoning town in the northern Wasteland. Known for their diplomatic nature and extensive knowledge of trade and has been carefully grown to manage the delicate political landscape in the region. Rehus is a key hub for mineral resources and water trade, and Ephemeral Connections will play a critical role in balancing the settlement's economic growth with the tensions brewing between Wasteland communities and industrial interests. Both Dionae were cultivated under the careful oversight of Lady-Governor Aeikuzo in Lazhi, and their roles have been crafted to reflect their specialized genetic makeup. The Wasteland is a harsh and unforgiving environment, and each Lord Verdant will bring their own skills and talents to bear in ensuring the success of the reclamation. Of particular note is the elevation of Taarazi to the rank of High Lord Verdant, placing them just beneath Lady-Governor Aeikuzo in the leadership hierarchy of the Viridis. Taarazi has been a notable figure in the reclamation efforts, particularly in the initial stages of radiation cleanup and their integration within the Wasteland communities. As High Lord Verdant, they will now serve as the direct overseer of the other Lords Verdant, coordinating their efforts while continuing to advise Lady Aeikuzo on matters of strategy and diplomacy. In his speech, Hegemon Not’zar praised Taarazi for their unwavering dedication to the reclamation of the Wasteland: “Taarazi has shown us the power of unity and collaboration. Their wisdom and strength will continue to guide the reclamation of Moghes.” “This is a historic moment for the Hegemony,” said one observer following the ceremony. “Not only have we witnessed the recognition of Aeikuzo’s groundbreaking work, but we’ve also seen the Hegemon’s vision for Moghes come to life with these appointments.” As the broadcast ended, citizens of Moghes ts celebrated the formal recognition of their new leaders. While it is clear that much work remains, the Lords Verdant now carry the hopes of Moghes on their shoulders as they take their first steps into their roles.
