UnknownMurder Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 BYOND key: UnknownMurder Character Names: Current Characters in Rank of Usage Alex Graves (Security Officer - Level Two [security Officer]) Oreki Nomura (Engineer - Level One [Electrician]) James Silver (General Medical Personnel [Chemist/Medical Doctor]) Justin Ewoks (Cargo Quartermaster - (Quartermaster)Old Characters: Edward Spencer (Station Engineer - Was Replaced by Oreki Nomura) How long have you been playing on Aurora?: August 2015, I started playing moderately in early November. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Firstly, I wished to be on the whitelist just for the IA knowing that there is a rarity for an IA. Upon searching for an IA Whitelist, I was told that the IA Whitelist is IN the Command Whitelist. Then, it has sparked my soul to draft this application and try to get the IA along with Head Staffs. I was considering about this a week ago to be a Head Staff, but changed my mind since I was satisfied with being Security Officer and Electrician. Why did you come to Aurora?: I rather not to bring my history into this, however... After being removed from the Colonial Marines by the new staffs. Let's put the past behind. After seeking for old friends and knowing that they have come to Aurora Station. By bonding with old friends. I have made new friends or colleagues. I have given the Aurora Server a try, it was nothing like the other servers. It was unique in its own way, and I want to help to make it more unique. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes, Monsieur. They are quite descriptive and clear. However, would it be better to read Aurora's Job Guide as Head Roles with them? Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: By general definition, it means to act in character or particular role. To begin with, what does roleplay means to me? Roleplaying is something you are entertained to act as a reasonable dream character you have created on your own. It's not about your own dream or interest. It should be about sharing your interests with one another. For example, I did create a dream character that I was inspired by Japanese Culture, Oreki Nomura. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: I believe the OOC Purpose of a Head Staff is taking a role model of how a well-being player should act to their best abilities. But, of course, be loyal to the The First Order Server Rules. When you think about OOC purpose of Head Staff you think of what you can do to help the workers to do what they need to get done. For instance, authorization of permitting Research to research circuits from tech storage for Data Theory or such necessary research. Remember, this is a research station. Not Security or Medical Station. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: This is a tough question, I do not think but I do know the OOC responsibilities for whitelisted players toward to the players is a huge responsibility to carry. There are lists: Stay Mature, be friendly if you can, don't brag about your promotion. They should also give accused antagonist with no dirt a fair chance. This also means: Do not metagame or use OOC knowledge to your IC Advantage to "compete" against the antagonist. No one likes when people does that. They are not here not only its entertainment. They are here to make round more interesting. In order to uphold them, I will try to pursue even if I'm not an antagonist to defend an antagonist whom had been accused as well as giving people fair treatment. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Alexander Cooper Graves Character age: Currently: 34 Years Old. I was thinking of aging him further to 47 years old to fit with qualifications of being Head of Security, if that is, this gets accepted. Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): We'll do three paragraphs. The Birth Alexander Cooper Graves was born on his home world, Earth, in Mar. 29, 2423. His maiden mother, Danielle Ann Vetan and his father, Edward Cooper Graves. Danielle was an ordinary house wife, nurturing to Alex's health and living. Edward was a High Ranking Military Officer at Home World Earth, Danielle's mother went missing when Alex was at age of three years old. Edward had received a threat note and a picture of his wife, Danielle, mutilated. Edward under fear of his son, Alex Graves, being taken by the people; Edward has taken Alex to a neighboring planet, Mars. Where in Mars, Edward has dropped off Alex at a private military academy where his father trained in. Edward has headed back to his home to continue his work as Military Officer. Youth Years After being dropped off by his father, taken in by his father's professor at Mars Security Academy, Professor James Birkin at age 7. Birkin has developed a new martial art he has been training with Alex... HERE IT COMES... The Close Quarter Combat or CQC. Alex Graves, being taught by James Birkin on Alex's personal reason, to follow his father's footsteps in becoming the Military Officer. James Birkin has succumbed to death by old age. Alex Graves. Seven years later, Alex Graves has 'officially' enrolled in Mars Security Academy and was top of most of his classes due to being taught by Professor James Birkin. Alex Graves had found a rival in his classes, Thomas Treil. Alex Graves and Thomas Treil were taught by Professor James Birkin before his death. They were evenly matched in offensive and defensive martial art class, as well as other core classes competing to be the 'true' successor of Professor James Birkin. Alex Graves' major was interfacing with technology devices as Thomas Triel's major was mathematical. Pre-NanoTrasen Years Two years after his enrollment in Mars Security Academy, Alex Graves taking on the difficult challenges; he has been assigned as a Security Cadet at Mars University along with Thomas Treil for dual credits. His father had died in a terrorist attack in Earth claiming to 34,000 lives by a single individual whom was found to be seized and set for death sentence. Alex Graves and Thomas Treil had taken on a 'trial' to be an ordinary Security Officer at N.S.S. Ewoks, a training station for the occupations in training such as Medical Intern. N.S.S. Ewoks was changed into a Research Station funded by NanoTrasen. (Alex Graves and Thomas Triel never worked for NT. It was just funded.) They have become an officer a year after. Thomas Triel has died three years later due to appendicitis and was unable to be cloned. Alex Graves had graduated from Mars Security Academy with a PhD. and was certified to teach, just like Professor James Birkin. Alex Graves had become a professor of the Mars Security Academy and later suffered a stun baton by his pupil and was bedridden for a year and half, it had created a scar across his left eye. He was forced to resign his role as a Professor. When released, Alex Graves had a surgery to cover his left eye paid by Mars Security Academy's inconveniences due to worries of being denied a job. Mars Security Academy had requested Alex Graves to return to being a professor after released, however at the time point, he had found his job... NanoTrasen. What do you like about this character?: His Detailed Past He is a Human What do you dislike about this character?: His Hairstyle Seems to be too young to be a professional officer What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Alex Graves is fit to be the Head of Security due to being able to follow orders from existing Head of Security. Alex Graves was never reported in the incident report which follows up that he is able to perform his job at a satisfactory level. I'm not sure what else to say here. You know me, I know you. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'd rather to assess my roleplay than to give an IGN Rating. So, there you have it. Strength: Can easily begin a conversation with people Loyalty to the NanoTrasen Prefers conversation over violence [There has been a rise of violent people] Non-Lethal over Lethal unless Rules of Engagement Equal Treatment for Accused Victim and Prosecutor Usually as "Substitute Warden" as Security Officer, update security records Weakness: May go SSD at some unexpected point, but I will tell you OOCLY or a staff member Fast Typer with multiple of potential misspellings Clueless with Supermatter setup (Henceforth, Electrician for Solars) Wiki Guide in different Window (Guide to Comstruction, Chemistry, Corporate Regulations, etc.) Not familiar with alien species (I rather not to, I prefer for characters to learn it on their own rather wiki lore) At one time, may make unnecessary reference or meme (But, funny ones. Not annoying) Extra notes: http://aurorastation.org/r/records/index.php?uid=unknownmurder_alexandergraves If you would have any questions, then do please ask away. If you see bullets in the application. That's probably why I prefer to keep it simple and informative for you to easily read... Rather chunk of wall text. No one likes that.
Guest Complete Garbage Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I knew Unknown before Aurora from Colonial Marines. He was a good community member there, as is he here. Good interactions with him, both ICly and OOCly, in addition a well-written app and an articulate, fun-to-read character biography incline me to give a +1.
Jennalele Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I normally really don't mind Alex, he's a cool guy. But sometimes he just does something so unbelievably and inexplicably shitty that it makes me wonder whether or not he's got what it takes to do this. The first incident that comes to mind? Welderbomb in PTS, or somewhere near the area, back on old code when we had the checkpoint be an actual checkpoint. It was deadhour, and from an OOC standpoint, we had nothing to do, so we decided to man it, using the IC, very valid excuse of "You know, someone just tried to blow us all up." It was myself and, I believe, one other officer who's name escapes me for the moment, manning it. It started with verbal harassment from Graves, who kept saying it was unnecessary to man it, and that we were only doing it to harass people. A Captain later arrived, and approved the use of it. We now had head approval to use the checkpoint. Graves continued to battle it, so we had the AI lock down maintenance, as he was trying to divert traffic into the tunnels to avoid us. This is how far he was going to try and subvert the checkpoint. Multiple times, he ran into the booth to try and force the shutters open when we had people in there. It's not like we were bloody strip searching them, it was exactly what's done at CentComm: Flash your ID and head the fuck on through. TL;DR, Bottom Line: He repeatedly harassed fellow officers, ignored a direct clearance from the captain, and was generally, really shitty over deadhour checkpoint RP. Because of things like this, as this isn't the only incident that's left me raising a brow... I'm going to have to -1 this. Sorry, man.
UnknownMurder Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Thank you both for your input... Jennel, I must say the story is not quite true... EDIT: (Half True - Half Misconception) I must make some corrections. I did not harass, it was a however... Yes, I did battle to get the system down because firstly you did not have the Captain's authorization until then you did so. Secondly, the result that led to was to 'take care of me' as sending a Security Officer to beating both of my legs and breaking them as if he was a gang member rather arresting me, I was in critical state that time. My suit sensors were disabled by the Security. So I had to adminhelps... THEN, a moderator tells me that I was being dickish... -facepalms- But.. That explains where the information came from. (Those who wanted to know the ending, The Captain, Security were denying the involvement in this, I was saved by a appearing crew transfer personnel. Then, I had to leave for some IRL) I know few of this, but I do remember those two main turning points. This was back in Januaryish. But! There is a possible chance that I changed! I am not a harasser.
Lonefly Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Well, I'll be very quick about this - I know you almost entirely from Baystation, back when you played it and such. My experiences at the time showed you to be in a mindset that I'm not sure would really be befitting of a whitelist, as that's generally reserved for players who didn't act in specific ways that I won't mention here. However, You seem to have changed in a positive way since the last time I saw you, and seem to be in a much better general mindset than you were in the past. You seem to have made genuine improvement from how you were the last time I really had any interaction with you, and that's something that I absolutely love to see in people. So, have a +1 from this nub.
Owen Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 UnknownMurder is one of those people who have progressed GREATLY in their ability to roleplay since joining the server. I do have one thing to say, I am not sure if it is an issue but, I am pretty sure Graves started at 18 years old? I know you bumped him up once but I just wanted to make sure that people noticed. I was thinking you would almost be better off creating a new character for your Head of Security position if you want an older person. But anyway, that isn't really of issue. I would say that you deserve this whitelist based off of your application and recent behavior on the sever. +1
UnknownMurder Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Thank you three for your input! It really helps! UnknownMurder is one of those people who have progressed GREATLY in their ability to roleplay since joining the server. +1 I bumped him up after noticing the job qualifications up to 34 years old. I really meant Alex Graves to have started at 18 years old as a Security Cadet, just a clarification. It was an error on my part, and no one had complained or reported to staff. I had fixed it. Anyways, Alex Graves had always been my favorite character... Perhaps, I can revive his rivalry somehow blue space that takes a strain on his lifespan or age acceleration. EDIT: I didn't finish my thought... Takes age acceleration to around in his forty or fifties.
Aznmang Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Yo yo yo, it's a +1 from me. I've seen him a couple of times, he's helped me and is a pretty great RPer. Bringing him to IAA might make rounds more SPICY.
Juani2400 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 +1 on this application. I've played a bit around with UnknownMurder in his Engineering char. I like quite a lot his RP capabilities and how he develops that character. The application is also quite fine, from what I can see. A definite yes, from my side.
UnknownMurder Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Thank you two for your +1! It means a lot to me!
Thesir Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I like UnknownMurder as a person, and feel like I've had a number of interactions, albiet not particularly memorable ones, with both Alex Graves and James Silver. Both of them seem to be reasonable and competent, at least while I was interacting with them. The biography that you've provided is colorful and interesting, with lots of detail. However, it does seem like it's either inconsistent with time or just vague enough that I lost track of certain elements. Either way, it's not a huge issue, and it's still a pretty good backstory. I also liked your evaluation of your roleplaying ability and may steal that format at some point, if you don't mind. Your answers for the questions at the top were good, as well. I can see Alex being a good head of staff, so I'll give my approval.
UnknownMurder Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 I also liked your evaluation of your roleplaying ability and may steal that format at some point, if you don't mind.. You can BORROW it. Also, thanks.
Chaznoodles Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Interacted with Graves as Security. A great character all in all, good at creating and facilitating roleplay. Also known UM since we staffed together on CM and he's a great guy. Has my support.
Guest Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 >when you press preview, think the post was posted and then just X out everything and go to sleep Well, whatever, I got time to redo it. Anyway, having staffed with UM before back on CM prior and after the new map/code was released, for a brief tenure of a couple months, I can definitely say the following. UnknownMurder, in spite of his young age, was one of the best, most mature and coolheaded admins on the server. Prioritized his efforts on keeping the round fun for the players, did little with tampering with the round aside from a couple Metal Gear meme references over command reports Was a great and fun team member to be around, consistently distanced himself from drama and was otherwise a chill dude Very entertaining roleplayer in spite of the hoo-hah drama about whether CM was medRP or lightRP awhile back. Knew how to set an atmosphere and made rounds pretty tense even just as a grunt. Graves is also a good officer. Even if they don't outright obey, they're capable of listening and having a civil discussion. I don't expect them to be perfect, I'm open to seeing them improve even as a head of staff. Official endorsement from Delta.
Butterrobber202 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 This is the Saltest bastard I have ever met UM takes his RP, no matter what kind, to a very acceptable Level. While he Admined on CM I didn't get much insight on his Characters, but got some insight on him. Overall he is a nice guy, funny guy at times, and is one of the better Roleplayers I have seen. Also, I was unaware Alex was his Character, and I've only seen Good-RP from him. So bonus Brownies for Unknown. ( That Salt thing was from when he muted me on OOC, IC and Adminhelp for screaming at him to much. lel)
UnknownMurder Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 Thanks for the input you three! It's been six days since I last posted this whitelist. Is it usually this long for it to be "processed" or...?
Garnascus Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 This is getting accepted as soon as I get home from work. Which ie about an hour.
