UnknownMurder Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: UnknownMurder (UM) Character Name(s): Alex Graves, Vincent Chiffre, James Silver, Oreki Nomura, Justin Ewoks, Arthur Pilate, Edgar Dubois. AI Name(s): D.E.V.I.L. (I rarely use AI or Cyborgs.) Preferred means of contact: Rank in Order of most used Contact: BYOND Pager, In-game, Discord (Direct Messages), and Skype. Age: 16 (Will be 17 on 3/29/16) Timezone: Central Time Zone When are you on Aurora?: Weekdays: 3:00 - 8:30 PM Central Time Zone. Weekend: 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM Central Time Zone (Depending if you need to grab me, I am always available.) Experience How long have you played SS13?: I do not know precisely; however I do know as I came abroad the BYOND I played the SS13 since July 29, 2011. How long have you played on Aurora: Since Aug. 03 2015 as for the forum account says. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I won't lie and say I know how Supermatter works. However, I do know depths of R&D. I use the Wiki to use the construction and chemistry. However, I know how to build an APC. -insert chuckle- Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Moderator, Admin, Head Moderator, and Head Admin for Colonial Marines. I know most of the verbs, however the procedure may be different. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I do not think I have been banned on Aurora Station, but I do have 'warns' and 'notes' for little misdeeds, but nothing to make big fusses over. Hunnelwe's warn was a mistake. Hunnel was a moderator, and was promoted to admin, and was unable to take off the warning as I've been told. Personality Why do you play SS13?: That's a question I've asked myself and was unable to answer. Why do I play SS13? Why do I play Aurora Station? I enjoy playing SS13 as it seems to apply sort of a realism. The interactions with friends and society of a community had always satisfied me. Also, when you do your job in the SS13, it feels like you're actually doing a REAL JOB. I might be a workaholic myself. Why do you play on Aurora?: As I have said, the interactions with friends and society of a community satisfied me, I have explicitly chosen the Aurora Station player base for the best relationship between the players and the staffs. I am not kissing anyone's ass here, I can give you the best relationship example. Skull is keeping us updated regarding the server's issues. Aurora Station has a poll for everyone to get involved in. Also, the roleplay we have is heavy, I very much love the heavy roleplay and interaction. I even followed my old friends here to feel what it was the RP was like, doing so, I have made new friends. What do moderators do?: Uphold the Server Rules, provide guidance and assistance to those who are in need of help. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: To be a moderator for the server is to be an active member, a person who is one of the Aurora Station. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Since becoming a active player of the Aurora Station, I have gotten more involved. I did notice lack of the staffs (which is why Skull was calling up for more staffs) not being available, in any case; the staffs needed help so Skull had announced the moderator application once more to get more public interested. Despite my history, I decided to apply for it. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: The Three Best Qualities I possess: Outstanding Communication Huge Moderator Experiences (Good Judgements, Know the Verbs, Know his Place, Etc.) Great Relationship with the Players How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Stress: Usually when I work under stress, and being told by people to "HURRY!" actually speeds myself up but with several mistakes may appear. Anger: I don't usually have anger over Internet issues. I'm a Star Wars Fan, and I know this awesome quote. "Fear is the Path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to ANGER. ANGER leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." Insults: Insults has no bothers on me. After all, it's the Internet. I can't overreact over an Internet. Anything Else You Want to Add: 1. I broke up the lines so that it easier to read. 2. Please take this into consent as it is relevant. UnknownMurder, in spite of his young age, was one of the best, most mature and coolheaded admins on the server. Source: My Head Application Whitelist.
Serveris Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 With applicant's discretion, their application interview, trimmed down slightly for more clear answers: http://pastebin.com/nRU6dWG7 Regarding UM, after conducting this interview, I am willing to support them in a trial moderatorship. They appear to have a lot of potential, and have always had a cool, level-headed approach to issues on the server, and I believe that their experience on Colonial Marines will be a very valuable addition to our staff department.
LordPwner Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I personal believe that UM would make a great moderator in timebecause he roleplays very well, is helpful with anything I've asked him with help for, and he has also corrected people who I've seen break the rules of the server, around me and him. So I do believe from what I've seen, he should be a trail mod for now to see if he is truly ready, so UM does have my vote, if it counts for anything
TrickingTrapster Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Yes, I have seen his characters around before. I can safely say he understands the mechanics, and is a decent person in OOC. I cannot vouch for the actual mod capabilities(I'm not exactly a regular contact OOCly) but I'm pretty positive over this.
Ricky_the_banshee Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I've actually worked with UnknownMurder before on another server as Trialmod and I'm safe to say that he knows what he's doing. He knew exactly what his position meant as a Headmod, cooperated well with the staff and was familiar with the mechanics. I'd say he would be a fine addition to your team.
Shadow Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 UnknownMurder's trial started today: 27MARCH2016. The trial will last at least for 1 month.
UnknownMurder Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 Reminder to Itzal/Skull/Whomever Trial is ending today or tomorrow.
Skull132 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Application denied, 19MAY2016. Application was originally given an extension by staff to resolve complaints raised by staff. Following a review over the last week, we found that the issues were not resolved and our decision reflects that. The main points were a very crude/too official sounding mode of communication (think me 3 years back), which did not assist in de-escalating situations where it needed to, and coupled with that, the general appearance of the trial moderator being too severe in their management of issues. The applicant is free to apply whenever he wishes.
