Farcry11 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Hey, just bringing back a thread I had on the old forums. Here's the gist of it: Post movies that were made and released in Aurora's universe. These are for extra fluffy lore goodness and IC conversation pieces (and also a chance to flex our silly writing muscles). Write the movie's title, the premise of it's plot (or a synopsis), the names of the lead actors, running time, and (if you want to be REALLY fluffy), awards that it won. Here goes. Hot Fur: A buddy cop movie starring human actor Lance McCaul and Tajaran actress Saliya M'Taki. Maxx Ryder (McCaul) is a hardboiled Lowell City detective, who is surprised to find himself paired up with rookie Tajaran detective Aaliyah Khuram (M'Taki). The two are tasked with taking down a drug ring, and while Ryder is initially negative and mistrustful of his new partner, the clever Xeno eventually wins him over with her quirky Tajaran ways. Comedy/Action. Running time 1 hour 45 minutes. Nominated for an Osskar at the Galactic Film Awards. CarpNado: A solar tornado is approaching a residential station... And just when it seems things couldn't get any worse, a massive school of space carp swim in to the twister. What ensues is a hilariously bad B-movie mishmash of public domain screams, gratuitous blood and gore, and poorly choreographed chainsaw fights. Stars B-Actor Marvin Bidell as Jay Cogburn, station janitor and chainsaw collector/enthusiast. Action/Comedy. Running time 1 hour. Has attained cult status on the Galactic Web. Moghes Honor: An epic drama about troubled mercenary Markus Blaire (played by acclaimed human actor Garret Stoff), who is hired by an Unathi warlord in one of the constant inter-clan wars in the Moghes equator. When Blaire refuses to kill a defenseless Uneth child during a battle and instead saves the boy, he sets out on a harrowing, emotional journey through war torn Moghes with his charge in tow. The film pays special attention to the political and societal situations on Moghes, and how they facilitate constant, brutal war. Drama/Thriller. Running time 3 hours. Won an Osskar for "Best Drama" at the Galactic Film Awards. Stoff also won an Osskar for his lead role. GO GO GO. POST MORE. Quote

Jakers457 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) Fifty Shades of Medbay: Based after the top selling book sharing the same name. A Nursing Intern finds herself working in a Medbay on board a space station. She soon discovers there are many secrets behind closed doors within the Medical facility after discovering the Chief Medical Officer, a somewhat stern but compassionate woman, showing a young plucky chemist discipline. Once the Intern's eyes had been opened, she soon realizes the sordid nature of her peers and their intent to corrupt her somewhat innocent nature. A tasteful movie, that is definitely not porn. La chanson racine A silent surrealist picture by French director Jean Noir, depicts the learning of a Diona nymph and it's discovery of a shoe. The movie is black and white for a somewhat artistic flavour, and is voiced over exclusively in Rootsong but has subtitles translated into a Haiku format. During the movie, the nymph attempts to figure out the purpose of this shoe and involves various dream cycles that contain impressionism dancing and acting in the 'Berkovian' style. A very raw masterpiece, best enjoyed with a bucket of chicken wrapped in kale. Edited December 2, 2014 by Guest Quote
keinto Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) Birth of an Enterprise: A propagandist film that lacks substance, telling the intertwined stories of multiple characters that consist of all the species currently working for NT, and how their lives mean something thanks to Nanotransen. Heavily criticized due to its clearly human supremacist message, yet praised for its ambitious scope and soundtrack. Will do more later. Edited December 2, 2014 by Guest Quote

Erik Tiber Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Tranquility: A movie about the events immediately preceding the Holocaust of 2316. The movie depicts the events spanning from the October 24th Coup by Earth military commanders to the launching of KKV's against colonial worlds under the alliance's Tranquility Protocol. The movie is applauded for its historical accuracy, though many accuse it of romanticizing the actions of the mutineer forces that remained loyal to the civilian government, who were responsible for the destruction of the old Alliance capital and subsequent activation of the Tranquility Protocol. The movie comes following the recent declassification of a number of Alliance military documents related to the coup and the activation of the Tranquality Protocol. Quote

Farcry11 Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 Sounds of Animals Fighting A dark, violent film about a washed up martial artist from Lowell City, Lucas Stills (played by human actor Bradley Pinebeck) who has fallen in to a deep depression after his daughter died in an unclear "accident". One day, Lucas wakes up in the middle of the desert on an Exile Planet- a world dedicated to containing criminals too dangerous for any alliance prison. Lucas begins walking through the wasteland, searching for escape, but begins to suffer hallucinations. A criminal gang wearing skin masks begins to hunt him across the desert, and he is forced to kill them off as he desperately looks for answers and salvation. The hallucinations begin to allude to Lucas' alcoholism and abuse of his daughter. Finally, when the gang catches up to Lucas and surrounds him, he has a complete mental breakdown as all the members take off their masks, revealing their faces to be those of his dead daughter. Lucas falls to the ground, and a final flashback reveals that he killed his daughter in a drunken rage. As Lucas begins to scream in realization, the gang members descend upon him. It is left unclear whether the events of the film were all real, or whether the entire thing was a hallucination brought on by crippling guilt. Running time: 2 hours 30 minutes. System Failure A slasher flick about a malfunctioning IPC on a NanoTrasen mining installation. The IPC, designated as Mining Unit #666, suffers a system anomaly while it is mining, and in a famous uninterrupted intro shot, walks across the asteroid to the doors of the installation. As a human overseer opens the door, 666 kills him by forcing the pickaxe through his eye, and proceeds to hunt the rest of the crewmen with his terrifying speed, strength, intelligence, and thirst for revenge. The film, though it did well in the box office, was criticized for it's dehumanization of sentient synthetics such as IPCs. Running time: 1 hour 17 minutes. Quote
canon35 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 12 Years a Borg. The story of a abused cyborg on a research station, the movie ends when the borg is placed into an IPC shell and thinks it's been given freedom. In the end he's enslaved again and taken to a mining outpost, the movie ends with a shot of the IPC scream slowing crackling and a sad face popping up on it. Quote
Farcry11 Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 The Bald Locker An action/drama film following the story of a NanoTrasen Private Security Contractor, a Tajaran only referred to as Nahom (played by Tajaran actor Addis Sr'aan) that specializes in EOD operations. Nahom is sent to a new post aboard the chaotic "Goonstation", an installation known for it's vast quantities of bald, mad scientist bombers. Nahom spends shift after shift defusing a variety of explosives, including C4 blocks, valve transfer IEDs, and acid smoke nade-mines. Nahom's final defusing job is an innocent clown with a plasmatank-electropack assembly locked to his chest. Nahom tries to unlock the bomb, but cannot in time and is forced to retreat. The clown dies when the bomb detonates as Nahom looks on in horror. The movie ends as Nahom, going home the next day after his year-long work cycle, stares ahead as the clown's frantic honks echo in his mind. The film was given an Osskar for "Best Picture". Genre: Action/Drama, running time 2 hours 10 minutes. Quote
