Good RP to charge for services?

I played chef yesterday and wasn't too sure whether I should be charging for meals or leaving out a tip jar? Overheard some medical workers charging patients for their services. Is it good RP to charge for most services conducted or are there some departments where you shouldn't ask for payment?

Medical shouldn't be charging for medical treatment, period.

NanoTrasen gives every employee free health insurance for its benefits.

It was a loyalist round, for reference.

A great thing to do if you plan to charge for the food in the kitchen/bar is to either:

Ask permission from the HoP, if none then the Captain. (saying something about it or part of it will be "going into the station account" (i.e. RP that, you just take all the money and we pretend it's deposited)

Or put something in your employment records that you are an independent chef/whatever and that Nanotrasen has outsourced the kitchen to you/your company.

There are, and always have been, station accounts to charge too. Ask your Head of Staff.

Nowadays it would be perfectly reasonable to charge for service as chef and pocket it, if you are paying out of pocket for crates from cargo. 3000 for a cow? Heck yeah I'd be charging for a cheeseburger!

It is not reasonable to charge into your own pocket. That is embezzlement, you are free to have a tipjar and that is pretty much it. Nobody is forcing you to pay for a cow out of pocket.

Order a monkey cube box and enjoy a very large meat supply.

I actually made a form that I use for cargo so you can charge your department for orders (If you have someone with that department's bank account that is)
