UnknownMurder Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 BYOND Key: UnknownMurder Game ID: Any round he is active in. (bRi-aLA4) will be used as a reference Player Byond Key: (Unknown) Staff involved: (None) Reason for complaint: I'll keep it brief and made it clear to everyone before they start to partake in this discussion. This is a character complaint, not a player complaint. I know it to be true that the player himself is a good person and tends to try to play as a Warden. To get to the point, please don't deliver a divine punishment on the warden. This does not require a huge amount of time on Central Command Internal Affair's side to investigate into the situation. As for the complaint, I am sure that many of us have seen Declan Woodward leaving the brig without informing Head of Security or even security department and thus partaking in the conflict. By doing so, Declan Woodward has chosen to neglect his duties as the Warden. Declan Woodward can be seen getting involved with antagonists or conflicts as the round where I was a Ninja as Snake going " Ch. Ch. Ch. Ah. Ah. Ah. " We will use two examples. First example is the incident in Medical Bay surgery where Detective (dunnohisname) calls out to Security of my location while I attempt to murder doctors in operating theater. Declan Woodward is one the first people to show up, he is seen holding a shotgun. After I make the run and cloak, Declan is actively patrolling medical maintenance searching for me while holding the shotgun. Second example, this is the grand finale that I faced with Officer Mandy Blackwell and Declan Woodward. Declan Woodward is seen wearing Hazard Hardsuit along with Mandy, carrying a shotgun chasing me down while AI reports my location Security Channel. Security were not understaffed during these moments as brig was left defenseless (and I never cared about the Armory because I was too busy sabotaging everything). Again, please don't deliver a punishment. Just a big notice or warning will suffice. I am positively sure that the player of Declan Woodward was only doing this for Security's goodness sake but it is starting to become repetitive for us to see Declan Woodward leaving the brig and let alone compromise the brig. Thank you for your understanding. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? No, I did not because I originally believed that he would return to his duty after each time. It has been a reoccurring situation, someone has reminded me to do this. Approximate Date/Time: 11/4/2017 - 11/5/2017 (DURING THE DAYTIME SAVING)
Bath Salts Addict Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Mogelix is the ckey. Mentioning him as well so he can see this. I'm weighing in here because I, too, have witnessed the same behavior, although I genuinely believe this should be an IR rather than a character complaint. Character complaints are generally for unrealistic backgrounds, qualifications or behavior from characters and not them repeatedly neglecting duty. I was actually going to get around and file an IR report myself, and probably will regardless of the status of this complaint. However, I may as well weigh in what I have seen as well from my point of view. Consistently, and practically every round, Declan Woodward leaves the Brig time after time. No matter how many times I and others REEE at him in OOC, or how many characters tell him to haul ass back to the Brig ICly, he still continues to do it. There are rounds where he was even demoted but it still continues to display pigheadedly repetitious behavior. It's gotten so bad that he's almost singlehandedly made me started playing Warden again just to try and deny him that Warden slot so I can ensure that a vital Security role is actually done properly, and not by someone who wants to play a Security Officer with armory access.
Faris Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Just a note that I will be taking this complaint along with Something Vile.
Tomiix Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 During game ID bri-dHTp I had a similar issue with Declan, where he was the warden and Detective Noir was interrogating me as a ling disguised as Lily Kadel. He kept opening the door to interrogation pointing a shotgun in the door yelling 'be careful, it might sprout a armblade' when no other changelings acted during the round. He not only was clearly using meta-knowledge, but was carrying around a shotgun and away from his warden duties. This was resolved in game by DocOct, but I wanted to list this as an example of his behavior being repeatable, and upon ghosting and just following him i see he roams out of security a lot while armed.
SodaPopBob Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 dont have the Game id (sorry) but just had a similar encounter with the warden. i was trying to steal some high cap batteries from robotics for RnD, when the roboticist calls sec. after the roboticist (who i'm fairly sure was kyres but not 100%) failed to get me arrested, he tried to frame me by welding his own door shut and screeching over coms that he had evidence. then in what i can only assume was a collusion between Declan and roboticist, the robo announces over radio coms that he's now leaving robotics (eyeroll.jpg) because sec wants him and is gone for quite a while. when he comes back, he announces that he has my batteries, which i don't need anymore. when i tell him that, he asks me to come out anyway. when i don't, he breaks open the door to RnD and in waltzes the warden and the CSI, to arrest me. After a search they found a knife in my pocket, which was going to be used against me as evidence, until Cpt. Stern came along and broke up the shit fest going on in RnD, after which Declan suddenly decided that the arrest wasn't worth making and left. Not only was the warden performing stings like this, he evidently was doing it on some pretty shaky evidence if they were trying to set me up to begin with, and enlisting other members of science to perform B&E to serve a warrant that he claimed he had but didn't actually have on him at the time of the B&E.

Security cannot search/arrest you without a warrant in code green without a warrant unless they have directly witnessed a crime, you could file an IR for this round. Anyways, Declan is always out of Security, it is one of the most irritating things to deal with as both as Head of Security and Captain - because he ALWAYS responds to calls, in code green, blue and RED, he responds to calls and leaves the brig without permission. It is OKAY to leave the brig sometimes as Warden, but never if you have prisoners, and never excessively. Declan does both of these. I'm also fairly sure that Declan was the Warden once when a prisoner hung themselves and died because he was not paying attention and didn't even know a prisoner was brought in.
Synnono Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Concerning the complaint of Woodward leaving the brig/other unprofessional behavior, he was recently demoted temporarily as the result of an Internal Affairs investigation. This is viewable to people with Head of Staff forum access and should be considered here.
Faris Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Concerning the complaint of Woodward leaving the brig/other unprofessional behavior, he was recently demoted temporarily as the result of an Internal Affairs investigation. This is viewable to people with Head of Staff forum access and should be considered here. Essentially this. We don't mix both in-character punishments with out-of-character so I'm hesitant to apply anything from my end here. I also think this is a sufficient wake up call regarding their Warden game play. Vile and I do acknowledge that their gameplay, especially since it is extremely excessive doesn't meet the OOC expectations for the job, in the sense of the neglect that occurs often or the fact it is being played as a Security Officer with access as opposed to a proper Warden responsible over the brig and armory. However, I won't stop it here. In the event he keeps on doing this in the future, I advise further incident reports be sent. If he makes a new Warden but still persists with this form of game play, we'll step in. If this happens again to the extreme and IR's aren't eligible we'll also step in. Basically, if this is still an issue in the future, some form of action will be taken. I won't do more since I think the IR one is sufficient for the time being. Keeping this open for another 24 hours in case more information happens.
UnknownMurder Posted November 10, 2017 Author Posted November 10, 2017 Marvelous! Sharp As people knows that we don't do double jeopardy. You may close the complaint. As an OP, I have no further complaints with Warden Declan Woodward henceforth this complaint may be closed then archived. Thank you for your time.
