How long have you been playing on Aurora?: not sure, at least 3 years.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Heads of Staffs are the pivot points of most rounds, they have access to the most entertaining and most impactful positions on the station. If you want to have a seriously noticeable impact you generally need to be a Head of Staff. Another Reason is: It's fun, this is a videogame and its here for my (and everyone else’s) entertainment. Being a Head is as equalling entertaining.

Why did you come to Aurora?: At the time, it was really the only public RP server that I liked. The reason I stayed because the community was pretty cool and I liked some of the custom-mechanics that were in place.

Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yeeeeeep.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is about stepping in someone else's shoes, (that someone generally being someone you crafted), and basing your actions on their emotions and traits in a given situation. Its literally stripping away what YOU would do, and act on your own character's vaules and morals. Sadly I think this fails sometimes because people self-insert into the game alot, which results in generic and uninteresting characters.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: You are similar to antags in some regards, your job is to further the round by any means possible. You are also a method of filling job slots. Shit the Engine isnt on and the Atmosphere is fucked? Well that's a Job for a Station Engineer and Atmospheric technician separately… luckily I’m the CE. Boom batty bingo job done, station saved. You're there to make sure the round doesn't flop if you can help it, in other words.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:

You need to know what your department is about.

Learn at least 85% of all your department’s mechanics

Willing to Teach New Employees to the Department (Or Assigning someone)

Know the SOP and Generally everything you can about the IC-Station Lore stuff.

I plan to uphold this by… I guess applying them to how I play. I generally try to be knowledgeable about everything I can in game, and inform others when they ask.

Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions.

Character name: Losk Kizi

Character age: 39

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):

“Who in the universe could afford this much marble in one room?” thought Losk Kizi as he stepped through the rather large doors of the Skalamar University. Glancing down at his datapad, he started his way down towards the Meeting hall. Slowly the string of male unathi slogged their way in. Some looked like they had traveled for days on foot to arrive. While other Unathi looked fresh out of a starship. As per the law and tradition, Losk only spotted one or two possible females in the room. One was cleaning the speaking area with a synth-fabric towel and another standing by the door with her hands clasped around a metal clipboard. Losk took a seat in the 5th row back on the edge of the row. Next to him sat a young black unathi, with his talons painted. Noting this out-of-date tradition, Losk simply turned his head to the side, and feigned sleep. If he was going to succeed in this elitist school, he would need to make the right friends. With all the work Losk had gone through, all the work his kin had gone through, to get him here, he could not fail. Even with the NT Scholarship boosting him through, he’d need to be on his toes. A Red Unathi stood up on the stage, boosting himself up to speak. So this is how it starts…

So Losk Kizi joined the Skalamar University, excelling in almost every class. Medicine, Anatomy, and minor Chemistry. To his own frustration and his father’s disappointment, Losk only just managed to scrape by the required Medicinal Herbs course. With the Nanotrasen Scholarship Liaison constantly nipping at his heels, he was pushed into harder and more difficult classes than normal, passing them, he graduated the University with full honors. After a brief trip back to his Clan, Nanotrasen sent him off to work on the NSS Aurora II.

(sorry this story is so short compared to my other apps, I just couldn’t think of a good way to write a story about being at University)

What do you like about this character?: Losk Kizi is still a true Unathi, in the sense of he hasn’t absorbed Human Culture nor is he a Guwan. Losk is a Unathi with a sense of sophistication and lacks the Combat Lust most of the others have. I try to keep Losk out of areas where he has to arm himself, preferring to stay on the sidelines, healing the wounded. All around, I enjoy playing a Unathi in Medical.

What do you dislike about this character?: I have a history of loving Antags, combat, and beating up stuff. When I play Losk, I have to turn my drive to start fighting to low.

What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Losk has a (hopefully) rich history and family ties to the Medical career. With a level-headedness, sense of dedication, and Unathi honored tied to his craft, I think Losk is fit enough to lead medical. Heck, I’ve even run a few intern CMO rounds with him.

Character Notes: I actually had some help with writing lore for the Kizi clan, which I’ll link below.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 7/10. I’m good, but there is room for improvement.

Extra notes: I have a shitty dark history when it comes to Heads, so I’m hoping I can finally shove that stuff in a locker and weld it shut.

This is all true. Can you go in more detail on your OOC responsibility in regards to facilitating roleplay?

I've interacted with Mikam more than any of the other characters, and I have appreciated how you choose to RP him. He has personality, he has flaws, he has strengths, and I have seen him make effort to make rounds more interesting. +1 from me.

I'm really just trying to say, that I'll take everything I know about the lore and the server and try to pump it into my duties to create Roleplay.

Guest Complete Garbage

Butterrobber is an irredeemable chucklefuck and has been slowly sucking off the life force and will to live of the community since his arrival. Personally, I believe he should be sent back to his home country of Kenya and executed by firing squad. However, I also need some erp tokens. Desperate +1.

Honestly I haven't interacted too much with butter, but what I have seen has been enjoyable and he seems like a real neat lad. If nothing else, it'll be a fun disaster to watch. Also I wasn't joking about those ERP tokens. +1.

After reviewing your behavior, the feedback we've received and our own experience with you, we've unfortunately decided to deny this application, as we feel you are currently unsuited for a head of staff whitelist.

This denial is mainly due to your in-game behaviour, your stance towards the game itself and your low amount of server presence.
