geeves Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 BYOND Key: Geeves Game ID: First round: The one before bTY-dzQW. Second round: bTZ-b3wZ. Player Byond Key: Artur_lang Staff involved: First round: None, but I think Coalf and Voltage might've seen it? Maybe? I'm not sure. Second round: Abo maybe? Not sure here either. Reason for complaint: I'm sort of posting this on behalf of the rest of the players of those rounds, as I usually dislike complaints and/or complaining. [That was written up yesterday, today, after the second round, I'm miffed as well.] Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Nope, I was in the middle of antagging and was in the middle of the flow, not wanting to break it. I assume the others were the same. Hindsight is 20/20, ain't it? Approximate Date/Time: First round: 20/21 April 2018, Around midnight. UTC +2 Second round: 21 April 2018, 04:20. UTC +2 I've spoken to some other players and all of them agree that Artur is a mediocre antag. Every single time I've played with them, the level of RP seemed to drop down to rediculous levels, and in some cases, the round was ruined. For the first round, noteworthy examples include: Not working with their team, and reducing the quality of the round as result thereof. Cutting TComms after we repeatedly told them not to, effectively ending all RP. After Ghost (Gollee) got captured after going out alone to fix TComms (which is a eh move in its own), Doom went out to save them heroically, leaving Maverick (AmoryBlaine) Blaine and Razor (Me) behind. Naturally, he got captured as well. For the second round, my internet was incredibly unstable, so take this with a hint of salt [heh]. Generally acting like being an antag means you don't have to RP as much, in my opinion. I was negotiating with the Chief Engineer, Ayden Pennington (@Tailyos) about cloning the fallen raider. We agreed to stow our weapons but Doom did not. They marched into medical with their hardsuit deployed and weapons on their back and in hand (if I remember correctly, might've just been hand). After Pennington asked me a few questions, I was allowed to go. Doom was then asked a simple question and proceeded to run into maintenance, sparking a manhunt and almost blowing our cover. Claiming something against robots? (There was a Sec Borg standing near Pennington) In both instances, it left the Raider team wanting to leave him for dead. This is pretty poor antaggery, and would like to see it improved.
arturlang Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Although i agree, i should have not disabled tcomms, i agree on that, but on the time where i was told to stow my weapons, i was confused on what to do, i had asked, so i was told to go onboard the station, with one of the raiders, not really being told to put away my weapons, so i thought it was too late when we reached the mining airlock, also i had thought i could have easily saved ghost with the cloaking module on my suit, but i had failed. The ERT had terminated me rather easily. I apologize though, for what i have done, ill try to improve my actions.
BurgerBB Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 (edited) I've played as their pAI before when they were a raider in a different round, and I honestly got to say that there was VERY little RP involved between them and crewmembers. When they spawned they were like "Yeah uh lets raid the vault." and nothing else. There wasn't a gimmick of any kind or any sort of plan other than "lets raid the vault." I had to convince them to actually interact with the mercs by stealing one of their hardsuits, in hopes that some interaction may occur, but this only started some petty discussionless war between raiders and mercs and a new gimmick to take place, which was "steal the merc's ship." The crew weren't involved in any way. The only interaction I've seen them do with crew was with medical when their friend was dying and they needed to perform surgery on them. Even then, Doomslayer only used medical for the medicine and tools and did the surgery for his friend himself. It honestly just feels like they're in it for the action. This was doubly evident when, after their entire raider team was destroyed, for no reason explained or shown whatsoever, they decided to say "Nah, I'm just going to fight the ERT." as calmly as possible. They didn't fight the ERT because their friends died. They didn't fight the ERT because they were filled with rage. They fought the ERT just because they wanted to. Edited April 21, 2018 by Guest
ToasterStrudel Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 Hey there, I'll be taking this complaint, give me some time to read over this and go through the logs of the rounds!
eab549 Posted April 21, 2018 Posted April 21, 2018 hi, as the chief engineer of the second instance i can safely say that i was offering him a way out. Simply to be escorted by sec to mining to leave peacefully, instead of waiting like the sec borg did he charged off into maintenance. The ensuing shinagins he caused in my personal opinion detracted from the raider teams gimmick quite badly, distracting bad enough that sec ignored the raider stealing the AI in favor of chasing the insane raiders down.
LanceLynxx Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 I wouldn't usually open a complaint for simple lack of RP, but since this thread is open, I'd like to chip my 2c I was in a round with him as a research borg DARK once, there was barely any RP, he kept acting pretty humanlike and conducting research into unknown chemicals on it's own in an extremely obnoxious way, without much communication on what it was doing, growing plants in xenoflora and slimes in xenobio without even informing anyone, tried to grind telescience's bluespace crystals at around round start, which would effectively disable telescience until late round, IF mining got minerals, left dangerous chems like mutation toxin around the labs without caps on, all this with the most simplistic communication possible, such as "Look! I did a Science thing!", then dragging a beaker behind it containing pretty much every chem in the machine, beeping excessively, up to a point that the interim RD had the borg's voice synthesizer removed by the robotics team. Don't get me wrong, not trying to be a dick or anything, but while I'm sure he knows how to play regarding mechanics and knowledge in general, the RP is severely lacking. If the cyborg sprite was hidden, you could probably mentalize it was just a baldie with insulated gloves and a toolbox.
AmoryBlaine Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 I can confirm what Geeves has said. I was there that round. Not much else to say.
ben10083 Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 Hey I was B.O.B the sec borg at the medical incident, let me explain what happened in detail; Ok so we were requested to watch the 'carp hunters' at medical where the CE was. The CE was trying to permit them to hunt and was warning them about keeping contraband at least out of plain sight or security may arrest them for contraband. I started to RP about following programming when I saw 'Doom' with a chain sword and other items. I went into my usual "Contraband detected" in which the CE quick ordered the visitors to stow the contraband away and was about to ask me to stand down (he told me "wait" and was typing the next sentence). Then out of NOWHERE Doom ran into maint. I started to chase after him (I had a VTEC module so I could keep up, props to robotics), and cornered him the first time. All he said was "How did you find me?" and then started coming towards me. I radio'd in for backup when he ran past me and tried AGAIN to run (keep in mind I had a flash and a stun baton and would likely be able to detain him if I wanted). This entailed a 2 minute chase which ended in him hiding in a locker and me quickly finding him. Once AGAIN he only said "How did you find me?!" and then tried to move the locker on me and close it, I move away from it and once again radio'd in my position and requested backup. He then starts running again, and this time I lose him. The other 'hunters' tell us that Doom is on his own and that we can arrest them. The rest of the round entails trying to find Doom (props to the other hunters, you did some good rp given the circumstances) and in the end at the 2 hour mark the shuttle was called and Doom ended up being killed (by the hunters I think). Overall his actions compromised his entire team's actions and resulted in a mediocre round which besides the maint chase security had little interaction with the raider crew (excluding the whole manhunt for Doom which one of them even let us on the ship to try to locate him.).
ToasterStrudel Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 Hey there, sorry for such a late response but I think I've come to the conclusion. I have a few points I want to hit on in this. Firstly Artur, you've been here for a year or two, and have MANY notes on LRP behavior, and that is not acceptable what-so-ever on a HRP server. Examples of LRP behavior in notes: The consistency of these notes over such a short period of time, and your actions in this round really makes it seem as if you are unfit to play as an Antag. You really seem like you're just playing it to win, and that isn't what being an antag is on this server, being an Antag is about driving a story that is interesting for both the characters in round, and yourself/fellow antags. This brings me to point two. Your Actions in the round were exactly what we don't want to happen with team-based antags, we can understand maybe a group of raiders or mercs disagreeing with each other and doing their own thing, but cutting off T-comms for no reason, and openly ruining the gimmick the other members of the Merc team were trying to do completely ruined the round for both them and some of the people of the station. You're actions caused what could have been an interesting round into a 'welp time to death-match lol' that I hate, and am sure a good majority of the players who play dislike as well. Overall, I really do not feel you are fit to play an Antagonist, from the logs I've read over and your previous actions and notes I believe you need a Antag Job-ban. Though for now it will be permanent, I will make some stipulations on it. The ban must be upheld for at least a month without chance of an appeal, and in that time you must not amass anymore LRP behaviors, at that time you will be allowed to appeal, otherwise I do not believe you should have the ban removed.
