This right here brings endless ire from myself. But, on the subject of floor-length braids, it already is a workplace hazard, mechanically. At least three times I can think of come ot mind of roboticists getting themselves scalped by their exosuit fabricators because of their hair. this is a good post don't make suggestions to remove things you don't like, rather make suggestions to add to the game. I suggest MORE things that tear out hair, if an airlock closes behind you it has a 1% chance to tear your floor length hair out of your head if a fire lock closes over you, its guaranteed to pull your floor length hair out of your head if you are next to a crusher, your hair will get caught and pull it out of your head (if you are lucky) or pull you under it (if you are unlucky) ect.. so don't remove floor length hair from loadouts, remove it from the character's head in game with machines! there is more! floor length hair means you can't throw slimes off you because there is more to grab! people can grab you by your hair! your hair can get caught in floor vents if you walk over it because its too long!

you are the one who brought up 2016 dollars and its equilivant. an assistant makes 18k in 2016 dollars, minimum wage is 15k again, its not 56000 dollars, its 56000 credits a credit is 33 cents

its like you're racist against tarjs and a tarj comes with a (totally legitimate) request for promotion to an interim position (say senior engineer because there are no atmos techs, something i've seen a lot of) you don't want to give the tarj the job, but you can't say because he's a tarj, you deny the promotion on the basis that it is your call and you don't believe he has the necessary experience to take the responsibility and put liability on your shoulders. But you would promote a human with same credentials without a second thought. this is how you are speciest without yelling it over comms. Be subtle, move to the other side of the hallway when tarjs are walking by, wait for humans to come to the desk when you need to talk to someone, when pairing up, always choose humans, intentionally not order xeno-fit gloves ect..

or feel free to be racist but don't be racist in a way that can be recorded. There are plenty of people who are racist in all levels of government today, but (most) are smart enough to not get caught, or at least not get recorded being racist. On station comms are recorded, saying racist things on comms can get you in trouble, can get NT in trouble. Saying racist things in person can get you in trouble if its reported and there is evidence to back it up. I'm not exactly sure why this is a huge deal

i didnt run the math i just grabbed historical data from 1913 to 2013 but if you are talking about the 3:1 ratio i think it was jackboot who said that

we have 400 years of inflation man the assumed conversion rate that i've read is 1 USD = 3 credits (very small inflation for 400 years, as cumulative inflation 1913->2013 was much greater than that over 1/4 the time), so cut that 56000 down to 18600. Now assistants make just over minimum wage compared to the USA, which considering all sorts of hazard pay you'd have to get to work in space seems pretty low tbh

Well for one, I can't imagine sec is going to come down for a poster getting torn down, but that act lasts longer than just the round it happens wouldn't you agree? Sure, its one thing to say 'I support ATLAS' and move on, its another to have physical evidence of the support, especially in a diverse work environment such as the Aurora. I understand your reservations for the poster itself and the belief that it'll just devolve into posted/ torn down by a tarj, however I think that vastly oversimplifies the potential outcomes of rp concerning political parties. As it stands, although ATLAS has a lot of support its rather hush-hush on station because its frankly anti-alien stances and I think something like this (possibly opened up for different political parties having posters in loadout, branching off Zundy's suggestion) could really factor into the long term universe we are trying to develop here on the Aurora. That being said, nursiekitty also has a good idea if you don't believe a full poster would be feasible, really the intention of the item is to show my support for the political party and if it's a pocket foldout or a membership card I'd be ok with that too. The reason why I was thinking the poster was because it's very visible, and could encourage people to talk to me about ATLAS (or yell at me about it, if that would be)

show my support for ATLAS on station its part of the majority government for Sol Alliance and could add to political discourse. There is a whole universe of politics we could explore with people on Aurora and its all hand waived. and if it gets torn down can't that lead to further rp with people?

they're running an obnoxious number of servers but i thought that number seems high, i haven't seen any official numbers though

They've added like 12 servers in the week since release one stat I saw said they had 500k people playing across America and EU servers, though that includes the obnoxious bots and goldsellers. I got hit by a 200 person queue the other day, it took me 3 minutes to get in.

also true the rule as a whole is probably the dumbest thing server administration has ever implemented. Like, there is no logical reason to bar 'influencing' round type. Keep the ooc mute during voting and go from there

personally i always vote ninja to protest people bitching about round types because nobody enjoys ninja rounds
