  1. with proper tweaking you can have joints break without blowing them off restore physical resistance, give a laser vulnerability (obviously heat will fry circuits) increase the destruction threshold so there is a bigger span of things not working but not removed
  2. one more watch suggestion, could we add in like, long term countdowns with a beep at the end? sec can use it to keep track of prisoners and synch it to cells ops can use it to coordinate operations and have specific times to do stuff assistants can use it to play games in the library instead of doing work
  3. welding walls takes about 5 seconds i agree it shouldn't be instant, but 5 seconds seems fair same for lockers obviously, opening the door would disrupt the welding
  4. better yet, allow toggling permissions while item is in hand, like with airlock boards.
  5. i feel like these are things that research calls security down to do also, because these are magnetic locks, would they only be operable on one side of the door? So like, you can lock down a door so someone on the other side can't hack out
  6. can we use a headset under earnmuffs yet? last time i tried, the muffs overruled the headset and it just buzzed
  7. alternative add water valves to the walls at intervals, have hosing, allow security (and engineering) to hook up a fire hose system for crowd control and fire combating.
  8. I thought your plan for the malf round was very clever, though to be honest it wasn't engineering that went for you first it was security. Engineering deployed to save the heads and sec officers that were trapped in your upload area (from what I saw) up until that point, myself and the chief were in the engineering lobby. I wish your biohazard plan panned out better and people were more willing to suspend disbelief that, JUST MAYBE there was actually a biohazard warning.
  9. emag fax should allow a user to synch a pda with the fax machine and, if a fax is sent, have the fax load up under the 'notes' area and allow a response via pda message.
  10. hardsuits don't protect against flashbangs are you illiterate or do you just choose not to read Wear a hardsuit helmet. Now you're immune to flashbangs, and if you get caught close to one (3 tiles), it's like a two tick stun. Let's stop trying to emulate Bay and nerf security's equipment to gargle antag cock. ive been in full hardsuit and gotten floored by flashbang people itt have said you're wrong about this info already, i haven't gone testing for it though
  11. a kit bomb won't take that big a chunk out of the station, maybe not even enough to bust through to space but its something that could do a world of hurt to the person its strapped on to and those next to them. The kit holds like 1/5 the fuel of a full tank
  12. hardsuits don't protect against flashbangs sunglasses hardly do anything against flashbangs the radius of a flashbang is 7 tiles, for reference the entire width of the ss13 gameplay screen is 14 tiles. one flashbang affects an entire screen of gameplay its not a nerf, its a balance. cutting down the distances will force flashbangs to be used intelligently and still be effective
  13. Subject says it all Currently we can hook up an assembly to a welding tank, why not the backpack sized fuel kit? This would allow for a 'last ditch' threat kind of thing seeing how it can be held on your back, also allowing for a more portable IED system. Obviously the amount of fuel would result in a much smaller yield explosion than a full fuel tank
  14. either way, if a tile is 1 square meter, current stats would still only have 1.5 tiles of range. the lift to 3 doubles it but the 7 tile radius is literally the entire screen
  15. shield generators in engineering have 1 tile = 2 meters
  16. ok I just want to chime in on the 'realism' aspect here. using conventional ss13 math, 1 tile is equal to 2 meters the radius of a flash bang blast affects 7 tiles out, which is 14 meters in one direction (which is a full 45 feet away to us americans) assuming the blast is a perfect circle (its not because of tile mechanics) that gives the range of a flash bang 615.75 meters now from wikipedia for the irl stats of the flashbang used by the US military today: 170–180 decibels and 6–8 million Candela within a 5-foot (1.5 m) radius that would make the instant down radius to be less than 2 tiles, and light and sound dilutes very quickly as you move further away. So in short, the blast radius and effects should probably be toned down, Its the future, so I'd say 3 tiles maximum effect and 5 tile terminus. Its still big enough to be useful but actually gives people time to move away rather than having it instantly end the conflict
  17. by chart, somewhere between 6 and a soft 7
  18. more important than a better selection of items, I want to be able to take MORE items I want my bandana, cigar case, and the ability to grab an armband for my department
  19. its actually really easy now that encryption keys are added to cargo
  20. stealing the one from the vault is usually easier than dealing with space mechanics to get the nuke to the station but i support the rename on principle that a different name starts to change opinions.
  21. I had a nation when the game was brand new and was up to like 9 billion peeps before i forgot about it. Cant restore it, no associated email i started a new one a year ago in my old region Nasicournia
  22. give us back the ability to rotate chairs and flicker lights at least! but only REAL ghosts, not the stupid observers
  23. the ability to make upgraded prosthetics would be SO fetch enough science and all of a sudden roboticist can swap out my arm for one that can punch the plating off a wall without needing a welder
  24. that'd be cool be able to pop a key into a radio and give it access to a department. Useful for both antaging and in emergencies
