  1. i think that was the standing rule back a year ago, idk if anything has been done concerning death squads from a lore perspective though
  2. it'd be interesting to see how many of that number have multiple whitelists like, a list of how many people have 1,2,3,4 races whitelisted
  3. MAJOR modification I want to hardsuits is click-drag to hand to unequip I don't know how many times i've killed my self in space over the years by clicking a hardsuit and removing it by accident
  4. I mean with proper effects it can work well like smoking in a hardsuit will eventually pollute your air supply as oxygen is replaced by smoke and then you can suffocate even with a full air tank
  5. personally i love it i want xullie to be able to smoke his cigar while Eva
  6. we'd probably set it up more regularly if we didn't have to bug cargo to get a core, then bug atmos to give us the pipes to redo the layout of the supermatter room and have to drag down the equipment and order more stuff just to make it functional... but thats an argument for another thread that being said, the limiting factor for power on the station is the power cells in the walls, not the smes
  7. I've been on Aurora since the beginning and I don't remember it
  8. engineering has access to two heavy duty chargers
  9. i missed the ert but all the work we put into those dorms only to have them covered in purple goo :/
  10. I can believe it. Terrence was one of the few Agents who actually acted like he was in Internal Affairs. He was strict. He would stick his nose into other people's business. He seemed to care a lot about how the station was running. He would interact with multiple characters each round and provide some sort of chance for people to RP. He did this consistently for quite some time. Terrence Frank was, and very well may still be, the best internal affairs agent to ever serve on the Aurora. It'd be nice to see more of him. i love Terrance Frank as a character even if my character doesn't
  11. we really just need to address how things happen like, engineering, its tough to have multiple people doing the same thing unless its something simple like putting up walls. However you can have newbies WATCH as you teach them. Sec you can take newbies on patrol with experienced people med don't just do surgery alone, do it in pairs. Even if one just hands you the tools you ask for, a doctor is never alone in the operating room Science well IDK i don't science too much
  12. literally the only thing stopping me from applying for CE is that I don't want to be CE I'm perfectly content being a normal engineer
  13. if i did, xullie would be on the list rather than everyone else I nominated
  14. You have valid points, and I will let others comment on them as I've already stated my reasonings. However; this last one is not entirely true. I join some games specifically to play as the Drones, and I'm sure others do too. Why? Because the little buggers are insanely fun to play. I mean, I have too but I've been spoken to by server staff in the past for it (well, I requested they set my drone timer to 0 so I could spawn in right away and they said no because of the reasons I listed) I agree, being a drone is fun, but its meant to be fun in the way that some websites have a tiny flash game while the actual content loads, its just something to do while you aren't REALLY playing
  15. why does it need to be a head who teaches the players? I've taught more engineering apprentices than I can count, whenever I see the beret I ask their base skillset and then I help to solve shortcomings. This should be standard practice for all employees imo, you shouldn't have to wait for a department head to help out the cadets/ interns/ assistants in your department. IDK maybe I just find it easy to teach engineering
  16. everything a drone can do, a borg can do better except traveling down delivery tubes but still. Drones are not meant to be autonomous or have upper level ai. They're literally only in game to give dead or observing people something to do while rounds are still in service. Also don't kill mice its not nice
  17. I'm a 'fun at any costs' player
  18. remove sec access to maint tunnels then you can give it as an antag advantage actually, id say maint is way more sec advantage, it allows sec to surround an antag by going from both directions and the antag has nowhere to run. at least in hallways an antag can dance
  19. I see this all the time with research directors and new RnD folk. Almost every RD: "You're telling me you don't know how to make protopistols and borderline traitor weapons within five minutes? ITS SO EASY ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS USE A TOOLBOX, BREAK INTO THE TELECOM, GET THIS THIS THIS. You need to get good and get out of my face, I'm going to go be a pain in the ass for security and give every scientist a protopistol on code green for self defense :^) " "You're fired." Eventually the RD just barges in and does everything themselves and firing the new guy in the mean time. Then requesting security come and detain the now fired personal. That or some fucking lab assistance gets everything to 10 That or a CMO who bitches/threatens to fire the chemist for not making the god drug within 3 minutes of the shift starting I just remember trying out the role for the first time and having someone run in after every thirty seconds saying, "Are you gonna' actually try now, or what?" And then they'd break in and apologise to everyone outside asking for stun revolvers and say, "Sorry everybody. If I was working today, you'd get them, but." "Apparently we have an idiot working here." IT'S LIKE C'MON CUT ME SOME SLACK BEFORE I PUT YOUR HEAD STRAIGHT THROUGH THE WINDOW thats hostile work environment and grounds for self antaging imo
  20. i always teach new engineers if xullie is on and there is a new player send them my way
  21. back a long while ago I was given some 'spur of the moment' lore by the lore team for my home city on Mars, (i THINK it was written by Jackboot) I just want to confirm that it'll still be valid with the updates, none of it actually affects the major changes: Basically, the theme was a prospective mining city that is in economic distress due to the discovery of other veins far richer and cheaper to exploit. It was settled in a mad dash to hit the mining market early and missed the mark, so to speak. I was modeling it after Detroit, where it once had a thriving economy but is now a blight
  22. whats this about a threat of shutdown? i don't read the feeds very often so how is it ever increasing?
  23. i've said it multiple times for different game mode suggestions, i think this works best as an event run by admins where there can be a proper DO presence, security force, and equipment for assassin(s)
  24. maybe an examine at 1 tile distance shows that they aren't cuffed, but more than one shows they are? (like how when you examine paper at +1 tile it says a piece of paper, at 1 tile it says whats on the paper) also a disarm will make you drop the cuffs obviously
  25. Because an acronym that segues into a number with a hyphen looks better if the abbreviate stance is maintained. Take for example my IPC, HI-47 MkI. HI-47 MkI looks a lot better and cleaner than HI Fourty Seven MkI. you could use roman numerals but that might get a little confusing i guess
