Security Officer (6/37)

  1. I recently came back from Hiatus, but so far I've had several enjoyable interactions IC'ly and OOC'ly with Peppermint, and she seems to keep a very level head under stress. +1.
  2. Hi, I was in the bar at the time as Tish Nagata. Here's my summary of events: Guy comes in, yells that it's a robbery, fires the laser tag gun. Tish points out that if he's gonna rob a place, he should try using a gun that actually leaves scorchmarks. At this point, the bar has a decent amount of Security and a couple of engineers in it. Snow is given one chance to get the fuck out of the bar and let us drink in peace. He refuses, again demands money and shoots at people more. He is bapped with a wrench, there is a disarm struggle, the gun is almost disposal'd, and Security chases him out. Tish went to clean off the surprising amount of blood that had ended up on her clothes, before returning to the bar to continue drinking and chatting. Few minutes later, GUESS WHO SHOWS UP AGAIN? He is again told to fuck off, refuses, complains that he just wanted to play, another fight ensues, this one much more quickly dealt with leading to him being tased in the hallway by security. Bets are placed on if he'll show up a third time. The cryo notification triggers, nobody wins the bet. Peace returns to the bar.
  3. Byond key: jessicastark Discord key: Jessica_T#1312 Character Name: Tish Nagata Item name: Light Spacer Magboots Item function(s): Lets you stick to the deck in null G. Does not protect from space wind or breaches. Item description: When you live and work in areas ranging from low grav to free fall, being able to walk is pretty important. Standard issue on most Spacer ships and stations, these boots magnetize to the deckplates without being as bulky or powerful as suit grade magboots. They're scuffed and worn, but well taken care of. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: Sometimes grav gens fail and it's better than flailing around, they let her feel secure without having to clomp around in hardsuit grade magboots, and they're the set she's worn for years, comfortably broken in to her feet and everything. How did your character obtain this item: Purchased in the Techno-Conglomerate six years ago, worn ever since when she's not at work. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: They're her boots that have been with her for her entire engineering career, comfortable and reliable. To other people, they're something that exists because of the conditions she's spent her life in and a mandatory part of being able to live and work comfortably in null G. Sprites: Basically the Gray workboots, with a red light on the back of each boot and a line of engineering orangey-yellow above the sole to differentiate from the regular boots when in hand. @Happy_Fox has agreed to take the commission if it gets mechanical approval. Additional Comments: Bonus points if they make the magboot click noise when active.
  4. So after trying multiple brands of rolling papers to make Tish's reishi cigarettes, they all start giving me nicotine messages. Can we get some plain rolling papers for those of us who like non tobacco smoke plants?
  5. I'd say have it work similarly to crowbarring an airlock, but have it take a longer. Have a few status messages like "You unfasten the access hatch...." "You insert the manual override crank..." "You crank the hatch open"
  6. Okay... This just gives me the best idea of a Vampire bartender who puts a little of their blood in each drink. I approve.
  7. Kizi is poor, and trying to save money. If Chef food is expensive, she'll just buy pizza from one of the mining vendors and stuff her face with that. Or eat carp or some other space life.
  8. I'd support IPCs being able to select any language as part of their programming, given they can basically just download it. It is annoying that Ranger, who was owned by the SolGov Marines for 80 percent of her lifespan, can't speak Sol common. I can't imagine they'd make everyone else learn another language to interact with her for that time, so did they just forcibly wipe the Sol Common language database when they sold her to NT?
  9. What Zundy said. Gas only tries to equalize pressure, not totally travel. The only way that an actual gas tank would work like they do in game was if it somehow had a tiny compressor in it that was actually able to reach an appreciable portion of vacuum, and your mask had a one hundred percent efficient exhaust valve. In reality, when your tank hits the same pressure as inside your mask, it simply stops feeding. I'm pretty sure the emergency style breath masks are a lot more like what a fighter pilot wears, with an exhaust valve that only opens during the exhale cycle, and only until the pressure inside the mask hits the pressure level of the oxygen feed coming in.
  10. Honestly, if Travelgrid actually could do the pathing to your desired location, it would be GREAT for getting out of maintenance if/when you get lost, or finding that one room that nobody ever really goes to, but you discover you need to. It'd probably be complicated to do, though. I'm not an SS13 expert, but I could somehow see tying it into the AI pathing that bots use when summoned to particular locations and then using that to generate the path. Plus, it lends a bit more RP in the form of "You need to go there? I've never been there either, but let's find out together."
  11. Also make him stop attacking Miners for having KAs. When you've got the larger size ones that don't fit in your webbing, you can either always wear your RIG chestpiece so it's on your back and you're slow AF, or carry it and risk getting chased. And if you leave it in mining, there's a chance someone comes along and walks off with it.
  12. As someone who's been doing a lot of mining, I definitely support either moving the report to the CTs, or automating it entirely. Especially on big hauls, it takes forever to right click on pile of materials, wait ten seconds for the context menu to load, Count how many stacks of various things there are, go back to the form, enter stuff, Wait ten more seconds to double check your numbers, and then finally shove the crate outside. Some of the nicer QMs will already do it for you if you bring up the excuse of paperwork taking time away from mining, since you have to sit there while the stacker runs, and wait for all the steel to finish slowly smelting its way out.
  13. Aros is an awesome miner, and one of Kizi's best friends. 10/10 would have hoist accidents with again.
  14. +1. Naomi loves her some psychedelics, let her proclaim her love for all to see.
  15. ESS still lacks weld protection. Please fix this so I can stop grabbing mesons to have mining press them at the beginning of each shift Also, we still pop lungs at below 17 kpa
