Thorin Oakenshield is where it's at, brother. Nah man, Bilbo's straight pimpin', Arkenstone up in this bitch. But yeah, my personality is way more Bilbo-ish than Thorin-ish. Thorin's all proud and noble and stuff, but Bilbo's more just like "the fuck is even happening."

Sometimes I get that sad, sad feeling when I'm looking over the threads here. I won't name names, but certain community members jump on threads just to spit vitriol at people over objectively meaningless things. Certain people forget that this is a game, and that's all it is. Sure, there's a community, but a community based around a game, a collection of code and pixels set in a fictional world that doesn't exist. And the more and more people that forget this is a game and start being hurtful and mean-hearted because of that, the less and less I feel like coming on and playing. It's a toxic environment that's making me consider leaving permanently. TL;DR if you get hurtful and bitchy over a video game you are on my shit list

So, I guess this is pretty straightforward. I believe better wound sprites would be beneficial to immersion, RP, and gameplay. Currently, you can get your face wailed on with a metal rod and it'll look like this: When really it should look like: And to contrast that, your torso gets harmbattoned or shot a couple time and all the skins sloughs off it, leaving behind a red and blue mess. I think that could be toned down at least somewhat. This is just a basic concept I'm throwing out there. Definitely don't think it should be high priority, but it'd be a nice addition.

The Bald Locker An action/drama film following the story of a NanoTrasen Private Security Contractor, a Tajaran only referred to as Nahom (played by Tajaran actor Addis Sr'aan) that specializes in EOD operations. Nahom is sent to a new post aboard the chaotic "Goonstation", an installation known for it's vast quantities of bald, mad scientist bombers. Nahom spends shift after shift defusing a variety of explosives, including C4 blocks, valve transfer IEDs, and acid smoke nade-mines. Nahom's final defusing job is an innocent clown with a plasmatank-electropack assembly locked to his chest. Nahom tries to unlock the bomb, but cannot in time and is forced to retreat. The clown dies when the bomb detonates as Nahom looks on in horror. The movie ends as Nahom, going home the next day after his year-long work cycle, stares ahead as the clown's frantic honks echo in his mind. The film was given an Osskar for "Best Picture". Genre: Action/Drama, running time 2 hours 10 minutes.

Also, some ideas... For traitors, a knockoff Uzi that fires 3 bullets in one click. Essentially a rapid fire gun with a high amount of "knockback" (screen shake) I think security should get some ballistic pistols in the armory, like Stetchkins. Also, one-use, makeshift guns that are dangerous to the user would be fun. Something like an air pipe packed full of lighter fuel and metal rods, or something- if it works, your target is skewered by pointy sticks. If it blows up, YOU'RE skewered and set on fire. Also, maybe a gun that you can make with some metal and an emergency air tank, that fires loaded metal bolts when you hand-pump it, but breaks after a while/can run out of pressure. In general, I think lasers are boring and kill too quick. I'd rather we took them out of the armory entirely.

Some of my favorite universes are: A Song of Ice and Fire (richly detailed in the world building without descriptions dragging too much) Cowboy Bebop (realistic future noir) Middle Earth (because The Hobbit is one of my favorite books of all time) Lovecraft (the stories are all amazing, creepy, and mysterious) And... The Sprawl Trilogy by William Gibson. THE original Cyberpunk universe/series, and a great read.

Sounds of Animals Fighting A dark, violent film about a washed up martial artist from Lowell City, Lucas Stills (played by human actor Bradley Pinebeck) who has fallen in to a deep depression after his daughter died in an unclear "accident". One day, Lucas wakes up in the middle of the desert on an Exile Planet- a world dedicated to containing criminals too dangerous for any alliance prison. Lucas begins walking through the wasteland, searching for escape, but begins to suffer hallucinations. A criminal gang wearing skin masks begins to hunt him across the desert, and he is forced to kill them off as he desperately looks for answers and salvation. The hallucinations begin to allude to Lucas' alcoholism and abuse of his daughter. Finally, when the gang catches up to Lucas and surrounds him, he has a complete mental breakdown as all the members take off their masks, revealing their faces to be those of his dead daughter. Lucas falls to the ground, and a final flashback reveals that he killed his daughter in a drunken rage. As Lucas begins to scream in realization, the gang members descend upon him. It is left unclear whether the events of the film were all real, or whether the entire thing was a hallucination brought on by crippling guilt. Running time: 2 hours 30 minutes. System Failure A slasher flick about a malfunctioning IPC on a NanoTrasen mining installation. The IPC, designated as Mining Unit #666, suffers a system anomaly while it is mining, and in a famous uninterrupted intro shot, walks across the asteroid to the doors of the installation. As a human overseer opens the door, 666 kills him by forcing the pickaxe through his eye, and proceeds to hunt the rest of the crewmen with his terrifying speed, strength, intelligence, and thirst for revenge. The film, though it did well in the box office, was criticized for it's dehumanization of sentient synthetics such as IPCs. Running time: 1 hour 17 minutes.

I was invited to party but I was stuck in SoCal on New Year's Eve so I couldn't go and instead did nothing. Seriously, fuck SoCal. NoCal is best.
