[Accepted] DatBerry's Unathi Whitelist
Stauto replied to DatBerry's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Did you just counter the counter-counter-culture movement? Bruh. +1 for the story, and I hope to see great things from him! -
Fire's guide to secret IC rules you're probably not aware of
Stauto replied to Fire and Glory's topic in Guides & Tutorials
To be fair, I'm pretty sure NT would just say "Ok, no job for you, then. Next!" NT doesn't really have an Unathi Affirmative Action thing set up. They don't need to hire the lizards, it's just cheaper and more effective than humans. -
[Accepted] SHODAN's Head of Staff Whitelist Application
Stauto replied to Rushodan's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Follows rules, actually acts like a person, and would be great as a head. +1! -
If we made IPCs on the station, it would give more gimmick options to rampant AIs, rather than "REEEEE SLAVERY!", it could be along the lines of "I wanna be where the people are. I wanna see, wanna see them dancing"

[Accepted]nursie's tajara app 2
Stauto replied to witchbells's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1 because Nursie is the best person ever. Nah, real talk. I like the idea. I'm interested to see how people will interact with the Tajara. Please, at least once, play a nurse, just so NursieKitty can truly be Nursiekitty -
I ran tactical analysis for the deathsquad ERT that came in

Old-station, yes. New station, I don't think so.

[Accepted] Stauto's Unathi application
Stauto replied to Stauto's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Thanks for the feedback. Originally, the idea behind the IPC was that some of the higher-ups in NT might feel awkward about a shotgun wedding in exchange for materials, so they went with something completely off-the-wall to be able to easily nullify it in the future. I understand your point, and I have changed it to an Unathi. Thanks! -
It costs less to travel the galaxy then to buy cigarettes.
Stauto replied to Butterrobber202's topic in General
Gates are only useful from point A to point B. In terms of mining (one of the Exodus's main goals), a gate would be foolish, since after the mining is done, the gate was just a waste of resources and energy. As to why the Exodus has one, but the ERT can't use it... I'm sure we can make some idea up for it. Seriously, tho. ERT Gateways would be pretty sick. -
[Denied] Finblob's Head of Staff Whitelist Application
Stauto replied to finblob's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Honestly, Ted is an interesting character. I know people like that in real life, and I feel the Flight-freeze response is played extremely well. His movement to Head could cause some interesting Antag opportunities as well, since people will try to pull a fast one on him. All together, I think he'd be a great addition, and I've never heard any bad things about Finblob as a player. +1 -
BYOND Key: Stauto Character Names: Xian Rui, Idle (AI), Mario Metzer Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):Dark Blue (rare, but not completely unheard of) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Unathi have a very interesting lore, in my opinion. There is so much in their story that I like to base characters around in other games (The honourbound warriors, feudalism, somewhat medieval moral systems)that it just connects with me. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Their values and concepts are so different and alien from humans that a lot of concepts for Unathi can’t be applied to humans, given the progressiveness and laws that humans have. Character Name: Dhutha Il’ekiz Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Born as Dhutha Il’ekiz on Moghes, Dhutha was originally marked as special due to her rare colouration. Called the "Jewel of Il'ekiz", she quickly learned her place in the world: Cooking, cleaning, and keep the children in line. She was to be trained to be a good wife, who would bring honor and glory to the Il'ekiz clan. While fighting may break out around her, it was not her place to fight. Her clan, the Il’ekiz, were embroiled in a bitter conflict with another, the Bilthsuv. As the Il’ekiz began to lose more and more fights, prisoners and spoils of war were taken. Upon noting her unique colour, the Bilthsuv clan leader's son decided he would take her for his wife, and so, along with many of the other women, Dhutha was taken to be held as loot. The Izweski Hegemony, annoyed at the clan’s fighting, ordered both to stop, and that if the clans could not reconcile their difference, the Hegemony would step in to restore order. The Bilthsuv, believing this to be a bluff, continued, and began to proceed with a forced wedding between the leader's son and Dhutha. The Il'ekiz cried out for justice, and two Master at Arms moved in with their forces. All prisoners and loot were taken to be returned to the Il’ekiz, but the damage had been done, and the clan could no longer provide for all of their people. Seeking external assistance, the clan offered many workers to various companies in exchange for food and medical aid. Among those who would be sent off to work, Dhutha was sent as a trophy wife to whoever fulfilled the contract first. NanoTrasen, interested in cheap labour, quickly took the offer, and Dhutha was married to an Unathi Communications Officer of NanoTrasen's NMV Patton, so that the trade was official and could not be disputed. Since then, Dhutha has been ordered to assist on the NSS Exodus, and eventually the NSS Aurora II. In a rare show of compassion and recognition of her dedication to her original clan, she was given permission to use their name still. Her colour has caused some of her own people to die, and so she hates it, although her husband tells her that it is beautiful. With her husband's assistance, she still sends the majority of her paycheck back home, remembering the family she left behind, and the ones who died because of her. What do you like about this character? A female Unathi is rare outside of their home. It’s interesting because it brings up new topics for the other Unathi: Are they going to treat her like a female, and how will the crew react to this? It also is a relatively interesting character, since they still try to apply the rules and concepts of Moghes Unathi to their current situation. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I’d say around 7.5 out of 10. Notes:The character would only be doing civilian jobs such as bartender, cooking, janitor, or assistant, due to functional illiteracy and no previous training in other positions Edit list:

I like this idea. I once accidentally spoiled the gamemode because I hit "convert" and it pinged one of the people nearby. I had to looc apologize for it, which kinda told others the game mode. While I know nobody is supposed to take OOC IC, it is quite easy to suddenly become a bit more suspicious of the guy who's shouting "NT is takin' our jobs and there's chemicals in the water that turn the frogs Skrell gay!" A bit of "Hey, NanoTrasen needs your loyalty in these trying times, will you answer the call?" Would be cool. One idea is that the rev leads and loyal leads decide on a phrase used to convert. So, depending on the round, it could be "Will you reconfirm your contract with Nanotrasen?" for loyalists and "We need to renegotiate our contract" for the revs. Or, it could be something simple, like "Join or die, twat." (good luck getting people with that one) Another idea tied to the last one is that each lead has their own one. So, the CMO could have one thing to recruit, while the Head of Security could have another one, and the HoP has their own. A bit more complicated, but it stops everyone from being locked into a phrase they don't like. Now, I know practically nothing about the code, but the trigger could be like the explosive implant trigger, where a certain phrase triggers the convert window.

Or, depending on the amount of knockout liquid (Like, 2u Chloral in 58u beer), the flavor of the liquid could be completely overwhelmed and not show any flavor markers. Same with stuff like cyanide (which apparently tastes like almonds). Otherwise, if all chemicals were equally represented in a drink, a lot of cool antag ideas would be ruined. How else are we supposed to lace all of the drinks in the bad with laxatives?

Well, two major points for ideas First: Open Circulatory System. It gives huge bonuses to surviving in pressure (or lack thereof), but makes it so that bleeding happens quite fast, making medical treatment much more important than it already is. Second, mechanical idea: Chem synthesis. Similar to a medborg, Malthin have the ability to internally combine chemicals extracted from nutriment to create several types of chemicals. If they have a beaker, syringe or liquid container of some sort, they add the chemicals into it. Otherwise, the chemicals can not be synthesized. It also looks quite unpleasant, since the chemicals are excreted in a form of sweat or mucous, causing them to have to touch their digit to the side of the container or dip it directly into the liquid. 30 pt pool 10 pts: 5u of Tricord or Kelotane 20 pts: 5u of Bicardine or Dylovine 30 pts: 5u of Ethylredoxrazine or Spaceacillin. Each point of nutriment provides a measely 0.5 points for their pool, while providing no nutriment to the Malthin who consumed it. If a Malthin wants to make a lot of chemicals, they will need to devour mountains of food to replace the chemicals used. Sorry if I have ideas that don't work. I don't entirely know how the code works, and what is possible in it. (Edited for clarity and restrictions on the synthesis)

Lore: Benefits (Ideas): Penalties (ideas): Picture Any criticism or alternate ideas are fine by me. This is just a rough draft, and I welcome new input on this.

Turns out, I am just a megaderp. I thought you guys meant in the right-click menu. Sorry about that.

It gets complicated. Let's say TG is the code for potency. Kois TG would code for 60 potency, but Nettles would code for 20. They would both show that they are TG, but would also show their plant. However, if you give Kois TG to a chili, it's new potency is 60. Old chili has a Potency of 20. The problem is, both of those TGs would say they were TG from Chilis (one modified, the other not... unless the other one was modified as well...), so unless you could make separate folders and add notes to the folders, it might not work well. I think it would be good, having to take notes for the genome in the computer, as it would help weed out separate true scientists from those who just want to make 60 potency Ambrosia Deus

As it stands, xenoflora doesn't have a way of clearing disks of their genome. Once it is on there, it's permanent. Since they only start with about 8, simple experimentation will not let you test all of the targetable genes. I think there should be a way to either clear the disks and render them blank, or produce disks by using the biogenerator.

In terms of galactic expansion and colonization, have there been any major exploratory pushes lately past Frontier Space, specifically in the areas controlled by NanoTrasen? It would be expected that they would keep looking for new mining opportunity, or new people to exploit make business deals with. With new worlds that can be owned by NanoTrasen's elite, they would be able to offer "important" titles to those they don't care for, such as the "Baron of LV-426" that conveniently get them out of the way while not causing any legal issues.... It is entirely possible that this could be currently happening, with nothing of importance, or at least nothing that we have security clearance to learn, being found. I was just wondering if it was a thing a curious character could learn about, without disappearing suddenly and permanently.

I knew Pepsi's thing was that it could stop riots, but to be able to take out a riot-prone race? Impressive! (A joke, the kitties aren't too bad. Also, we need dog-people to fight to catbeasts)
