Why not have the ability to stealth-ily take items off people, with like a 15 minute cooldown, if we're taking ideas from skyrim. Or a passive ability that items they take off people normally go directly to their hands instead of on the ground.

Except Terrence kept whispering to officers to stun-baton then cuff Ryu though.

I'm not sure if it's able to be put into the game, but I've always wanted a custom IPC chassis for SAM. Doesn't have to be anything over the top or anything, just something special.

This sounds like a good idea to me. It may even draw more people into play the skrell. I'm all for it. But the lore for the skrell, an entire specie, I think at least, should take Presidence among all other things. I don't mean to come off as hostile or patronizing, it's just something that I think is important.

Who's to say that the mechanics can't fit to suit the lore? I don't doubt that if you rolled up your sleeves and put your back into it, the lore could actually mean something, and make a difference. Skull and Scopes are great guys, I don't doubt even a little bit if you made a case, they'd be willing to improve the skrell For the server.

Idk if you read it or not, or if I read it wrong. But what /i/ thought it was was that it was basically a reskinned IPC. So they can continue living. Pretty much terminators.

Why not combine this idea and Nik's thread. Instead of cloning them put them into humanoid IPC like things?

So, this could be an alternative to cloning right?

I apologize if I had come off s trying to get at someone's throat. It wasn't my intention to become hostile with anyone, and I hope it didn't appear that way to anyone.

I'm not very busy at work, so I have a lot of free time. It mostly consits of refreshing the forums every two minutes and skyping on my phone, but today I remembered an idea I had a while ago. An icon on your UI, signifying how drunk you are. It's pretty annoying when you think that you're fine after waiting five minutes, but end up slurring your speech, walking around aimlessly, and passing out.

I'm saying that there are a few people who do go through with the cloning, I'm not saying we need to cater to everyone's needs, but if there is part of the community that utilizes this mechanic, then I don't think it's fair that it's stripped from them. By the way, I'm not trying to be biased here. I haven't died in maybe two/three weeks (the life of an assistant), but this would be something that changes this server drastically, and I'm just making sure all points are covered. Have we really never changed anything about game play to match the lore?

Are lore arguments invalid? This should be taken into consideration both ICly and OOCly, should it not? For those that do want to wait to be cloned. Hence why I said pretty much. You're implying that the antags plans will never work/don't mean anything because the person killed is always revived. Which is false. Come on.. really? This is a very valuable research station. With a nuke aboard it. CC already has knowledge of the Syndicate, and pirates and things of the sort, they know there's going to be a possibility that someone dies. They also know that science expierments could go terribly wrong. Why wouldn't they want to ensure that research is done, and they get their money? If the crew dies, they have nobody to do their research, and they're out of luck. "They'll just hire new people." You might say. But if there are numerous reported deaths there, and their not being cloned, they'll probably go work on some station that does have it. Cause yes, it's not an IC revival, it's a clone. But if something does happen to them, and they die, at least they'll have the clone to take care of their families, get the work done, and keep their legacy going. I'm also pretty sure he means the number of people that wont join nuke rounds because they're just going to get bombed and die, with no rp-what so ever. You're putting to much faith into the causes of the deaths, thinking they'll all be just. Deaths are already pretty much permanent. Unless the doctor rushes them to cloning just about immediatley, more likely than not, the person has ghosted and either become ERT/Mouse/Drone. This is also you having to high of hopes for the antags. If they know there's no cloning machine, what's going to stop them from spraying the people down, they're out of the round for half an hour. They'll find some way to justify it OOCly and the person who died is out for half an hour unless they join as ERT/mouse/drone. To me, it doesn't make IC sense not to have it, and OOCly, just because some people want different rp scenario's doesn't mean a core mechanic should be removed.

If you want funeral RP and all that jazz, just throw a DNC into your medical records.
