Experience How long have you played SS13?: Since 2011, but was an early teen and stopped around 2013, starting again around 2016. How long have you played on Aurora: Joined in 2018, only seriously started playing in 2022. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Pretty much everything, I shadow the github lots, and spectate every role. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Somewhat, years ago I was given moderator role sometimes because server owners at the time had to leave abruptly. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I enjoy roleplaying and have always enjoyed the science fiction scenario of being on a space ship with some form for impending doom, depending on whatever antag role it is. Why do you play on Aurora? It was the only server I could find that matched my expectations for heavy roleplay. I was hooked once I started playing again in 2022 and have made plenty of friends, and have even introduced some of my current friends at the time to join the server, who eventually joined staff and lore teams as well 😊. What do moderators do?: Moderators are the people that enforce the rules of the server. They are responsible for reviewing anything done and seeing if it conflicts with the rules of conduct. Low level they also can help people with mechanics of the server in a mentor form. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Being moderator means take a step forward acknowledging that you know the server, its mechanics, and most importantly the rules. You are willing to take the free time out of your day to take these. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I’ve been playing on the server for a couple years now, have been communicating with staff and lot of players. Observing rule breaking and telling staff about it. I think I could be a useful addition to the team for how often I observe rounds and can identify behavior that would require moderator intervention. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I’m usually readily available for notifications. I currently spend most of my time with Aurora open on one of my monitors. I’ve always tried to give an answer to anyone asking questions in ooc/looc/dchat. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Pretty well I think. I’ve realized that over the years it’s not worth getting angry over games, let alone 2d spacemans. After working will fellow college students I’ve learned quick how to manage group situations. I’d say I’m easily able to communicate with too.

If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes, round was near end and staff were busy. Approximate Date/Time: 6/22/2024 around 1am CST-ish? Basically during a vampire round I had geared up with armor and weapons toward the end and snuck into the maints tunnel behind the brig to try and convert the arrested people and free them. When I walked in I didn't see anyone so I walked further to the sec hallway and saw two officers and started typing to offer a trade deal. Instantly was met with security comms of me and my location, along with gunfire while I was in the middle of wielding and aiming my gun at Rakka. Zilrq joined in on the gunfight which I don't blame them since they would've heard gunfire and gone in to help. I had mentioned over radio comms earlier about asking for veil followers to reveal themselves to save themselves from death, but I don't think it would warrant a shoot on sight. Maybe I just missed out on sec comms but it felt weird to walk in to be greeted with lethal ballistics while I'm trying to type and even aim my gun as antag. ss13-chatlog-20240622-063603.html

i agree with lowering the spawn chance, and maybe some balance added to it like a way to prevent it from activating (anomaly container?) or a way to dispose of it that isn't just spacing the thing

Yeah it's kind of weird that it's acid based, and eating it just gives you a very minor burn on a random limb, aka no damage. It should probably be changed to toxin instead, since that is what they normally inflict.

Hey, only seen your character while observing and don't have anything to say negative at least. It's what I would expect from an IPC warden if that makes sense? I'll give more feedback if I get some interactions IC! tl;dr so far so good
