1. nice, thanks for the replies
2. I read in the changelog that Cardox grenades remove phoron from turfs, but are only available in the vault. Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be a chemical that can be created by chemistry/ordered by Engineering?
3. big fan of Horn, fun character who can come up with equally as fun stories. Makes me glad to see him on the manifest. Good luck! <3
4. I suggested this once before waaaay back, but I think if R&D could make the same inflatable dispenser that cyborgs get, that'd be pretty sweet. They're really useful and way better than a normal inflatable box, especially since they're so rapid. I think having it as a moderately high research project isn't too far of a stretch. As it stands now, most departments can get some pretty sweet prototypes, but all engineering can get is a welding tool with a refill rate that makes it pretty pointless anyway. All of the code and sprites are already in, so I don't think it'd be too much effort to port this over to the R&D console. Thoughts?
5. Good points Kaed, but I feel like 400 years in the future, cigarettes would have all of the crap filtered out of them. Either that, or small cancer repairs ala Elysium would be possible.
6. As much as I like Alicia, I've noticed she does this quite a lot. Furthermore, she keeps the particle accelerator at 2 and unnecessarily feeds the tesla to maximum capacity (18 balls iirc) and keeps the accelerator at 2. This is completely unnecessary, and keeps the thing active without more PA juice for about 50 minutes longer than it needs to be. It's absolutely fine at 3 balls but her character refuses to take that knowledge onboard, even from CE's (mine included). A big reason I've noticed that the containment field fails is if the tesla strikes the APC connected to the containment SMES, it disables equipment. I've never had an issue putting a grounding rod in front of that window. Another thing that bugs me is taking emitters from hard storage, which are generally there for emergency blob containment and stuff, and feeding the containment field with these. Just like the singularity, only one emitter is needed per two field gens. So this is just irritating and pretty catastrophic when there's a blob or worse. Maybe some hazard shutters in that area that the tesla can't discharge into would be nice? Or an official guide about placement on our server. Also iirc that bug with the powernets in the tesla engine room was fixed. I've never had a containment issue with a grounding rod in front of the window with the APC and keeping the PA on at 0 with about 4-5 balls. There's no need for anything more than that and keeping it at 18 balls with constant 2 power is, pretty bluntly, dumb.
7. I saw a miner use this, get knocked down and it was still firing an extra eight shots... with every one hitting the target. It's amazing but yeah, probably needs a nerfaroo.
8. I think this is a great idea. There's usually an admin on that's got the ability to add more crystals though, so in the case of gimmick a versus b, what about if there's an IC menu that can request more telecrystals? That way traitors aren't too OP and if they are wanting to do something else, they can legitimately have more crystals added through an IC request.
9. I can't think of the research levels that should be required off of the top of my head, perhaps nothing too drastic beyond metal/glass, since it's just a matter of convenience to have such a tool, and it's not anymore overpowered than ordinary inflatables. As it stands right now, inflatables are amazing, but they are a teensy bit clumsy to place/deflate many at a time; the engineering cyborg dispenser is great because it can instantly deflate and collect doors without having to wait, and being able to click with it where you want inflates placed is nice too. Plus it's always good to have extra prototypes for R&D to hand out to departments beyond [guns/force gloves] surgical tools and the welding tools (which are pretty lame in and of themselves because they recharge so slow and advanced welding tools hold more, but I digress).

thank you <3

again, thanks guys. means a lot. you're all aces and i love you. I'll still be here from time to time and in spirit!

thank you <3

I just wanted to say thank you to the server. People might not know me because I don't OOC a lot, but I play Kizzy Jenson and Owl the AI. I'm moving out tomorrow, back to university to study. So that's going to take precedence alongside partying hard. Being back home sucks majorly and this summer has been pretty awful. We all have our own reasons for playing, but in my case it's because this server is a wonderful escape from daily life and the grind of being back. So yeah, thank you staff for keeping the server afloat. I used to be an admin and I know just how shitty and thankless putting up with it all can be. You're saints for keeping it up as long as you have and not getting jaded or showing your frustration. And to the mappers and the devs who add so much to the game and work just as tirelessly as the modmins, thank you too. This new map has been a lot of fun to learn and explore, and it's very well designed. Your years of work have seriously paid of volumes, even if not a lot of people have said that. Specially, thanks to Skull and YeahChris for making this all work after the Apollo split, I know the latter isn't here anymore but Skull... good work you. And lastly, to the community; to the players who come here day after day and make the server what it is; the people who forced me to get discord and sought me out after talking to me in-game, people whom I've talked to every day for the last two months (you know who you are), thank you. I wish you all the best! Take care and don't forget to focus on what's important. I'm proud to have called this server a part of my life for the past three (four(five?)) years.
12. I'm not a spriter but if we could get a new sprite for cable coils, to have something a little bit more manageable and easier to click, that would be really handy. As it is, if you end up accidentally wiring a knot then you have to cut it, and end up with one small cable piece that is a nuisance to pick up. The same thing might be pretty handy on cable restraints as well, since those are almost as difficult, especially in hostage situations and so on. edit: as Sharp pointed out, you can just right click or alt click, but this takes almost as much, if not more time than hunting for the cable sprite itself.
13. this is actually a way cooler suggestion. Taking further from that, a custom sprite could be made as well in character setup. Just hypothetical because the AI's a tool yadi-yada, but still. Neat add on
14. Visitors is already the most boring game mode. We had a round earlier where both were dead in 20 minutes. There's been lots of other rounds where ninjas have fell off the asteroid and died. Considering how make or break these antags are for this gamemode (and if we're not gonna remove it) can we have a time lock on them similar to security? I feel like in order to make either of these antags really shine, the person playing them needs to have a decent, if not great, grasp of game mechanics. New people who come on and click ninja definitely don't 90% of the time Not suggesting this should be a blanket antag thing at all, but just that it seems pretty handy-dandy for wizard and ninjas.
15. i once got implanted with a frag grenade by a traitor and it did like 20 brute so
16. +1 for this. that round where your shaman smashed kizzy over the head was stupid and made no sense. and people are gonna capitalize on a mistake like that. I'm not sure I agree with Scheveningen saying that getting caught is largely your fault though. Because even if it's clear ooc'ly that someone's a cultist, if someone you know and trust ic'ly asks you to come down to the sublevel, you're not really gonna think anything of it. The idea of losing all memory of the cult is great though
17. so I had no idea that you couldn't smash windows with your fist anymore. It's been a while since I was a greyshirt and tried to bump out of the brig with my bare hands, and when I've seen people smash the windows I imagined they just used their hands. Even still, I can't imagine any shoes other than steel-capped are gonna provide a lot of resistance against kicking a reinforced window. Have you ever kicked something in a pair of stans? It hurts, quite a lot. Anyway, I think haloloss would be a nice medium, considering that you could open palm a window if you were brave enough.
18. ahh, I thought you could. i'm sure you used to be able to, but... that kinda makes my suggestion pretty moot then. still, banging your hand against reinforced glass would probably hurt.
19. i think it takes around 20 hits on each panel or so?
20. i think smashing at reinforced glass with your hand would probably break it. can we make it so each punch does about four brute to the active hand until it fractures/breaks? it'd stop people smashing out of the brig as easily as well
21. yes this
22. I've seen you as Adam quite a few times as my AI, Owl. Adam's a great character and he's believable and competent, probably pretty indiciative of you as a player as well. I reckon you could easily pull off what it takes to play an IAA. I've not seen your new character around admittedly, so idk if they're made just for this position, but again, I reckon you could play a great IAA. The answers here seem pretty solid as well, and you clearly know what kind of attitude it takes to play command/IAA. Good luck!
23. cool idea, but what if people aren't near the receiving holopad? also, would this work during a tcomms blackout? also what if an AI wanted to use that telepad?

And I'm back

welcome back gollee, I remember you from way back when. Your character's rock
25. I love seeing Araa in command. I don't know them IC'ly too much, but when I play my AI and command characters, she's always ace to see in action. I'm pretty sure I gave you feedback on your skrell whitelist as well. Matt's a great player with a nice attitude OOC and IC'ly, I've no doubt they'd be great in command considering their other whitelist. The answers here are really good as well and it's clear Matt knows what's expected of having a HOS whitelist. Good luck again!
