So, given the explanation of the player in question, are all satisfied with the response of the AI? Keep in mind, I'm not talking about the Nuke Ops's actions of the round, rather the AI's calling of the shuttle.

Here is my outtake on this subject. Samuel Mason plays a stereotypical Muslim character. Is it tasteless to scream "Death to Infidels!!" In his church and going around asking women to put on the Niqab that what they are wearing is "Shameful to Allah?" Absolutely. It's a annoyance to be an idiot on comms and to try and force beliefs on people. However... Did what he do was a violation of our policies? This falls under purview of stereotypes that has been a perpetual grey line of "Okay, well, if the Russian Character is allowed to go 'da' and speak broken English after every sentence, we can't really go to the Japanese Guy and punish him for calling people -San, and saying things such as Dishonourbah Dispray. In his case, maybe he's going a bit too over the line with trying really hard to be offensive, but unless he's actively starting to welderbomb for 72 virgins, he's just playing a bad stereotype. I can talk to him about perhaps toning it down because it is potentially seen as playing an insane character, but other than that, that's all I really see what is wrong.

The time of the shuttle call through the time of the first raise of this topic, Scopes and I both unanimously agreed that the AI tried it's best to minimize damage to the crew by trying to get them to safety. There was no possible way that the AI could had saved everyone because of the scenario at the point and time with the nuke ops. In this case it was a lose-lose situation, with No Heads of Staff, the station in entire shambles, taunting terrorist, death, and overall confusion.

We are not here to talk about past events with the character, when the situation was already handled and resolved, and topic locked. This is not about the past. We are here to talk about this incident, the present. If you cannot talk about this incident, please refrain from posting in the the topic.
-
We will be meditating with both sides to figure out what has happen, and come to a conclusion. We will be contacting those who were involved and be reaching a resolution of what should be done. I will be closing and archiving this thread. Feel free to contact myself if there's any more question, comments, or concern. Thank you.

Excellent, thank you for letting me know.

Hello. There was a recent complaints topic about a player playing as Vox, and during it a great point was raised: How should vox behave in terms of "antagging" or conflict? Voxes are a bay thing, and bay had their lore of "Well, Voxes are supposed to be cowardly chickens that hides in lockers and try not to bring up conflict unless they are pitted against someone, but even then as a last dire resort." Which that is established over there, there's nothing like that established over here. So let's talk about what they are, and a mindset when playing as them. Keep in mind, because of the nature of "objective free antagging", it makes a lot of wiggle room for players to come up as scenarios. I'm not talking about what they should be doing, rather, their take on what their behaviour is because they are indeed an alien species. This is something I would like to see the lore team clarify on, but I think input from the community is important since it is also a playable game mode that all can play. Please share your thoughts, suggestions, ideas, and comments about this subject, so we may elucidate on the matter.

I will make the topic for open discussion.

So there is no clear thing set in stone how Vox should be played, as I tend to agree, since people have asked this question before. Are Vox just turkey version of raiders that are cowards, or are they more ballsy? I know bay's lore that they are meant to disarm, take cover, rather than to get into conflict unless it is absolutely needed, but here, there was never a settled agreement what Vox are suppose to do. (As far as I am aware.) We should discuss this on a different channel, in which direction vox should behave when it comes to confrontation. As for now though, if anyone else has more input on this, please do speak.

Hi, I was the one that handled the ahelp at the end. The complaint that I have was that it happened near the end. I check the attack logs. Unfortunately, for some weird reason, you guys getting pinned to the wall is not an attack log, but from what I did see there was altercations breaking out between engineering and the vox in question. There was stun gloves, dart shots, crow-barring, and things had escalated from what I saw. An innocent was caught in the crossfire over the vox's fear of retaliation. I talked to Sue and Sierra on the matter, getting both sides. I had decided that there was a tussle due to engineers fighting back. Seeing that the round was over, and that it was delayed, I at the time ruled it to be an escalation build up due to the facts I had then from both people. Things could had gone more smoothly, but after a meteor shower, and tensions were at a high because of security issues in security, this has happened and we're all here. Now, what should the outcome be since this was brought up to light? How do you all want this to be resolved?

BYOND Key: BakaGaijin Player Byond Key: Jackboot Reason for complaint: The round that I am bringing up refers to something that I wanted to talk about with Jackboot, but because of a separate event which happened and the other mod that was on was involved in the round, I want to bring it out and talk about it because in my view it looked like a big question mark. Although there was a few parts I did not see which happened, I feel the need to bring it up. The Head of Security, Sarah Scott, detained a few voxes, for whatever reason. Jawdat came into security and was in the detaining room with the Scott. Somehow or another, a vox stole a taser gun, and shot at Scott, and there was ensured gunfire. Jawdat somehow got into the hallway on the other side, facing the vox, and in Scott's attempts to detain, had missed and shot Jawdat. A flash bang was thrown as well, which too, Jawdat was caught in the range, and was stunned momentarily. Then, in the series of ten minutes later, I read that Jawdat was going to "use his power to arrest and strip the HoS of her power because he was shot at and threw a flashbang." He did what he said, arrested the head of security, and let the Vox free. I am wondering though, why was Jawdat even involved in security matters in the first place as the head of personnel? Was he elected as acting Captain? Why did he throw himself into a detaining scenario, and why did he felt the need to arrest the Head of Security for him essentially being in the wrong side of crossfire? The way that I seen from this with the information I know is that Jawdat was overstepping his boundaries as a Head of Staff by arresting the Head of Security for no real reason other than "I got hit by tazers for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and then flashbanged.". And why did he let out a vox that was making a hostile moves on the HoS first? Approximate Date/Time: This happened between 11 pm-12 am, The 14th-15th of April.

Welcome to hell, Py. Love you, bae.

You try to dibs in real life over hearing someone's problem.

It's something I personally noticed with Voltage that he says it even moreso than staff. It's true that other administrative members say it from time to time, but not to the point where it's a constant, daily base. With being a moderator, there's nothing wrong with joking. It's just being careful how you joke, because Volt would have the power to ban and not everyone on the internet can pick up a tongue in cheek remarks.
-
If you were to become Trial Mod, will you drop the constant "I'm going to ban you" commentary on OOC that you do? While it's joking around, constantly saying it can give people the wrong impression, and you are to be held of higher standards then regular players.

Why not Black-Tar Heroin? We have needles. It would freeze a limb and require amputation.

Post things here that makes you feel good, or evokes a bit of happiness.

I can see things like Guinness being on tap. Absinthe, however....unless the round starts with the bar closed so people aren't tempted to hop the table, I think it's wiser to put the stronger drinks behind locked vendors.

((Bounty hunting is disabled for the time being, due to balancing issues.))

We need a girly cigarette akin to Virginia Slims or alternatives like kretek (these are cloves smokes, think Djarum Black)

I will inform the banning moderator of this thread for his input, due to it being several days with no activity.
