  1. Bounties have been and always be an optional thing, something you can take or leave. It is not meant to be an objective, but rather something that if a team is having difficulty figuring out a plan, they can simply look at a sheet of paper next to the nuke code (it's also optional to blow up the station with the nuke), and go "Aha! Urist McQuartermaster is worth 20,000!" if you wish to file a player/character complaint, please go to the appropriate board.
  2. Going to be honest, I haven't interacted with your character nor you. I suggest you settle some roots in here for a few more weeks. I cannot vote on this application at this time.
  3. Okay, it's time for me to talk about the big elephant in the room, which I have discussed with Sound Scopes and a few others last night. This is mostly his idea, I'm just presenting it. I suppose that you all are familiar with the sub-reddit for this game. There has been some complaints about Nuke Ops and bounties on this server, how seemingly in a game full of 30-60 people, a lot of Nuke Ops only focus on one or two people constantly. I personally believe from a player's perspective and a trial mod's perspective that is rather unfair to players, for the reasoning being that doing so, the round doesn't involve most players, just a select few, security, and head of staff. I understand that regulars can provide good roleplay, it's people you trust, but at the same time there are plenty of newcomers too who are very good at roleplaying but are overlooked because they don't have a special bounty on the forum. My proposal: Overhaul the current bounty system and instead make a system where there are 3-5 names of crew members chosen at random, with a random bounty ranging from 15,000 to 50,000. It would be more balance, people would be more genuinely surprise if Nuke Ops were trying to kidnap them, could result in more character development for characters mostly overlooked in this round type, and there would be no more accusations of favouritism. Of course, there's going to be people who want to do special bounties, but I think the system above should precede the special bounties, and it would just be an "extra bonus" rather than making one person the entire round. edit: And, if you do not want to have a bounty on your head, there should be an option to opt-out as a nuke op target in the preference panels. Thoughts, suggestions?
  4. Rest my babies, you are in mice heaven now.
  5. Heyo. Yes, I banned you for three days for making a welding tank bomb. You said you wanted to test features, but there are other ways of going about this, like asking us if it's possible to do so, or even making your own server to play test on, not doing so on a heavy roleplaying server. You literally just joined and made a beeline to the primary tool storage to make a welding tank bomb. TishinaStalker also witnessed what you were doing, and admitted that something was suspicious about what you were doing in msay. You had absolutely no reason to make a welding tank bomb. You were a non-antag assistant.
  6. Samantha Mason is a 9. Maxwell Mason is a 10. Abbas is a 5.
  7. I really liked the reference to the Praetorian Guards of Rome in your character's name. I think you can pull off the law machine gone IPC Cop very well, since you are a good roleplayer in my opinion. +1

  9. Samantha... ...deep down has a psychological scar of having extreme abandonment issues when it comes to romance. ...has a small pet mouse name Squeaky who she sees as her baby. ...is studying for the bar to be a Chief Medical Officer. ...Although she has a cochlear implant, Samantha has limited hearing.
  10. It's time to give that spesshul spess girl a card she's never going to forget.
  11. If you wanted to play CSI, play CSI. If you wanted to play detective, play detective. Quit touching crap. It's like a nurse going in and doing the chemist's job with no words between departments.
  12. While this came to a surprise, I am taken aback at how you replied to the events, and applaud you simply for coming out and pointing out a rather nasty flaw in the cogworks. Bokaza, I knew you were upset. You, like myself, like everyone here, mostly plays to have a good time, and it can be hard because unfortunately as much as we would like to have, we don't have control over the events of the game, and sometimes the system works against us. I'm sorry you had to die due to the nasty infection system. And I accept your apology. I don't mean that in a moderator tone, but more of a heart to heart matter. Believe me, I have gotten pissed at this game at the level you were pissed at earlier. I have seen this game make people froth-at-the-mouth angry. But, what happened today is now in the past. Let's put it behind us and hope for better rounds and more fun in the future.

    Shit Ops - 2015

The kidnappings from the nuke ops should be consider non-canon, since, you know, antagonistic actions shouldn't be carried from round to round. It's kind of frowned upon.

    Shit Ops - 2015

Gonna be completely honest here and say something I notice; There's been a lot of nuke ops circulating over stealing the same person over and over. I know there's a bounty, but you have to remember: You are here to make roleplay interesting for everyone, not just one person.

    Server Crash?

The server is currently having issues due to a DDoS. Please hang tightly.
  16. 1+ You finally did it. I'm proud of you. You're a great roleplayer, and I know for certain you would make a good head of staff.
  17. This is my view on it. I am the person who been in the chemistry lab when the bad balds came in. The bad balds who mix water and potassium. The bad balds who made acid grenades which melted the entire lab with myself in it. The problem is a few things: the bad balds who does this shit and ruined the reputation of new players by not having hair meaning they may be a griefer, and us shaping the clay of this community to always be shifty of bald players and their intentions. We all had a hand doing this, either directly or indirectly. I had joined the game before as a bald assistant, with a tool belt, tool box, and constantly speaking on comms asking if people needed assistance. I went to cargo to ask for a simple multitool from the autolathe and I was met with "You're going to use this for bad shit aren't you." It took me 20 minutes to get a multitool and afterwards an officer came up and started to question me about where I got it from. Granted, a few people I interacted about this multitool are known regulars. With that experience in mind, and while I have been guilty about it, how about instead of pointing fingers at others, we do the correct thing and give the person a chance? Try to speak to the person especially if their new that a first job shouldn't be in chemistry or science but tell them there's easier jobs like cargo tech or janitor to learn the basic of game mechanics? Don't you remember when you were new and starting out? Just a shove in the right direction may make people gain interest in the game, and a possible new member of the community.
  18. It's fine, Jakers. See you at another place, another time.

  22. heh I knew this would be an issue, one thing I do want to point out. These reports are all during my time on the station. before hand travis had a clean record. granted I agree with you, the only thing that has kept him from bring fired is both circumstances are unique, the first was he saved people doing it because security disabled at the time and It was later it would be recognized that he acted correctly. it would still be a report because security did get involved. the second he did not actually commit the crime(as far as anyone can tell), its a report as a warning because of a crime that was committed If anything, this shows to the company that you cannot follow directions and are a troublemaker. If you accumulated three major crimes on your security history working there, I'm sorry but you would had been chucked out the door long ago.
  23. This is my biggest concern with your records: Why would a company hire a person to run an experimental teleporter, something that can supposedly take almost anything that isn't bolted to the ground, with a long history of "tresspassing" and "grand theft"? That is a huge liability concern for NanoTrasen, that someone who committed 2x Grand Larceny, a rather major felony, to work in a company which could take company property due to history. A lot of employers looks down on workers who have repeated crimes, especially ones involving robbing. That is a problem I notice with a lot of security records, actually, that there are major felons as big as the days are long and yet people still work in the company. What makes your character more valuable than someone who has a smaller and more cleaner record? Why would the company hire your character to be a figurehead when you have in your history that you beaten up and robbed grandmum of her slot machine money? What has your character done in order to atone for crimes? These are the things people should consider when writing a security report.
  24. I remember this actually. He tried to jump down disposals over something about high school or something. I remember officers rushing in, and me following them, and Tom Goodman trying his damnest to disposals himself even after being detained. Clearly needs a talking to, this behaviour is unacceptable for our server.
