1. Ah, thank you!! I'll get to changing that up.
2. Hey there! I'm glad you decided to appeal again, but I wish you would've followed my advice in the last appeal! "If you wish to make another one, go ahead, but you need to put effort into it. Saying "I read the lore" and "I try to be realistic" does not cut it." I'm basically asking for more than one line on why you should be unbanned. You may be sorry, but I don't know why you are sorry, or how you'll improve yourself to avoid being banned again in the future. Looking back over your notes and your warnings once more, you've got quite a few and they're all about similar instances, I recall you apologizing in quite a few of them as well, but still continuing to do the same thing. I.E being turned into an artificer and ghosting, then playing as a mercenary and ghosting when security saw you. Orrr, the countless times you were talked to about netspeak. You were even temp banned for three days because of netspeak. So before making my final decision I'm going to give you some more time to expand on why you should be un-banned and how you'll improve.
3. BYOND Key: ReadThisNamePlz Character Names: Sydney Grace Cheyanna Davis Olivia Catherina Dakota Faqua Athena Palmer Kylie Young Sage Scott Kara Lewis Kirk Smith Andrew Karakos Amelia Huey Kiara Jewell Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Silver (RGB 192, 192, 192) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: This race has always intrigued me, compared to the Unathi or Skrell, I've always found the Tajara to much more interesting. Their lore is riddled with conflict and struggle. For instance, they’ve had two major revolutions in the past forty years. (canonical wise) It seems like it could be fun to play them, and I want a change of things considering I’m only able to play humans. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: A Tajaran has much better vision in the dark than a human, they scratch rather than punch, they are unable wear traditional gloves due to their claws. The Tajara overheat easily so they tend to avoid biosuits and hazmat suits unless it is absolutely necessary. When they speak they roll their R’s and usually speak in third person, “She is very happy to meet him.” or “She grrreets” Character Name: Ash'vna M'wari Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs ((Slightly longer than two paragraphs)) Ash'vna, was born in a town not far from Daros nearly eleven years after the first revolution, she was born into a poor family that supported the PRA. Her mother was a stay at home caretaker, she ensured that Ash'vna got the best education that she could offer. Ash’vna was a very spunky child. She loved to play in the snow with her father. Her father worked on artillery placements in the previous revolution, she loved it when he taught her about the artillery placements and how they worked, explaining and demonstrating the use of and importance of the large weapons in the first revolution. Ash’vna and her father had a very close bond, they were each other's best friends as well as family. They were always there for eachother, he taught her how to hunt, build fires, fire a gun, even create small weapons. When the second revolution erupted, she was about nine years old, her fathers unit was called upon yet again into this new found conflict, he was to be sent into active service three weeks after being called upon. About two weeks later, her whole family had sat down at their last meal together, enjoying each others company one last time. Ash’vna didn’t understand why her mother was so worried, and she certainly didn’t understand this new side of her father, she had never seen him scared, to her he was one of the bravest and smartest people she knew. So it was strange to see that he was fearful, but of course she didn’t say anything. A few days after her father left, she was moved out of the town with her mother, moving to a smaller village farther from the frontlines of this newly founded revolution. Her father wrote back to her every two days out of the week. For about three months, though the letters eventually stopped coming. This worried Ash’nva, she knew that her father was in a dangerous situation but didn’t understand the extent of it. Only two weeks after the letters stopped coming her mother came home in tears, explaining that her father and his Artillery placement had been attacked and overrun by rebels, which in turn lead to his death. At first, Ash’vna didn’t understand what was really going on, she knew her mother was sad and that her dad was gone but she would still feel that her father was going to return one day. It took a month before she abandoned this belief, falling into a grave depression. She no longer took interest in anything to do with weapons, she’d rarely go out into the snow and play. She wanted nothing to do with the war, she ignored all news and didn’t care who won. She just wanted her father back. Her mother had to work harder to provide for Ash’vna, meaning she was gone a lot more than usual, leaving her alone in their home for several hours at a time, sometimes even days, though Ash’vna didn’t understand this, she didn’t understand that her mother had to work harder, she was still so young. She became angry and rebllious, her rebellious tendencies usually lead to fights between her and her mother, this lasted up until she was fifteen when she finally began to cope with the loss of her father, though it would still haunt her and hurt her deeply, she wasn’t nearly as angry as before, she began to help her mother more, and all in all take care of herself to give her mother a break. She made friends with the other adolescents and young adults in her area, despite the revolution making it harder on everyone economically and socially, though it was nearing to an end. When she was seventeen she came across a NanoTrasen representative, the representative spoke with her for a little while and explained their mining and logging operations on Adhomai, Ash'vna would be intrigued by this and offered to help them, though she wasn't very strong she was fast and intelligent and the representative noticed this during their short interaction. In her first few days of working at the sites she would hurt her right hand, crushing it under a rather large tree. The representative running the operation at the site decided to cover the medical costs. After a few hours aboard the medical cruiser the represenative convinced her to sign a contract as a Nanotrasen security cadet, she signed with the hopes that she could provide a better life for her mother as repayment, she signed thinking she could surprise her mother but little did she know, she wouldn’t see her for the next few years. Being unable to see her mother upset her as well and presented her with many, many challenges during her training. But eventually, she had completed her Academy training before two weeks before she turned nineteen, and a week before her official arrival on the NSS Aurora. What do you like about this character? I like that she's selfless. She took up a contract that she barely knew anything about because she thought it would help repay her mother for all of the hard work she had to do in order to raise her, I find Ash’vna to be some sort of representation of myself, she puts others before herself, and tries to find ways to help people no matter what. I’m sure (if this is accepted) when I play her I’ll develop some more positive feelings towards her. How would you rate your role-playing ability? If I'm being honest, a 4 - 6, but I'd like to think a 7 - 8 Notes: This is my first alien white-list so like, any comments are greatly appreciated.
4. Hey there, the staff member who banned you was me, ReadThisNamePlz. The reason you were banned was not because of "i not reading the lore and unrealistic" it was for a multitude of reasons, mainly multiple offenses. Here's the actual ban message. "Reason: Recieved five warning in the past two months about netspeak, lrp, jobhopping, self antagging, un-realistic character RP. Like claiming to have fought in a war 100 years ago, then going to looc to argue about it. You may appeal this on the forums at https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewforum.php?f=38&sid=aa559a02a7203024ab00cf34e9ddd76b" Now, you've received five warnings within the past two months. You haven't improved from any of them, and you seem to take this as a joke, considering you applied for a Head of Staff whitelist while being banned. I'm going to be denying your appeal. If you wish to make another one, go ahead, but you need to put effort into it. Saying "I read the lore" and "I try to be realistic" does not cut it.
5. So, regarding the "Give me a full story of what happened," I actually did, if you look back at the Ahelp I asked you to elaborate on it twice, the definition of "Elaborate" is "worked out with great care and nicety of detail". I was asking you to give me a full run down of what happened. Regarding Eabs statement, when I told them to Ahelp it, I was simply telling them to stop complaining in Dsay and to ahelp it, I even PMed them about complaining in Dsay near the beginning of the ahelps. But, in the future, I'll be crystal clear with this. Thank you
6. Hey so, I consulted other staff about this, and I was told it was completely okay. nursiekitty Was the staff member to actually say it was fine. I'm sorry for closing the ticket so quickly, I actually tend to close tickets rather quickly but this is something I just picked up over this trial, I've been working on that. The way I responded had the intent of adding some humor to it, I'm sorry that it was not very professional.
7. Alright so my response to this is this: I was planning to dismiss this with no punishment on either side until I reviewed the logs. They told me that "I never damaged anyone". While they may have believed this it was not the truth, logs showed that they attacked the CE multiple times with a screwdriver, wire cutters and an extinguisher. They were warned because they insisted they they did not attack anyone, and (from my perspective) believed they had done nothing wrong. The CE even attempted to get the antagonist into a locker to get them to medical, I saw this part happen, they ended up succumbing to their wounds however. I took the "I never damaged anyone" as a lie, and asked him two or three times to see if he'd tell me it was a lie or not. Garnascus Was here for it as well after I issued my warning, maybe he can give some feedback.
8. +1 From me, I enjoy their characters quite a bit, I'm sure they could make a good head of staff, and if not, there is always the option of revoking it.
9. Going through all of this, I'd cut back on my leniency a bit, hand out more warnings and temp-bans rather than just putting notes onto everyone. I stand by what I said about my friends, if they expect me to treat them differently just because we're close friends, they're in for a whole different treat. I stand by what I said about the players that lawyer, I'd happily engage in a discussion with them as long as it's not too drawn out, trying to help them understand why they (the player) are in trouble is one of the most important duties of a staff member in general, if they understand why they are being bwoinked, they're less likely to repeat the same offense. (on purpose). It also gives the staff member grounds for harsher punishments if there are more than one offences. I stand by my response to the staff member question, I will engage myself in a tactful discussion, trying my best to keep it respectful for them while I try to understand why they ruled in that way. If I need to, I will call in a third party from the staff team for an unbiased opinion. In all honesty, the only thing I really think I need to change is my leniency. I was too lenient with the players who committed multiple offenses along with large offenses, like the person who maxcapped surface on accident, I only warned them because it was not completely intentional.
10. Basic Information Byond Account: ReadThisNamePlz Character Name(s): Sydney Grace Cheyanna Davis Olivia Catherina Jonathan Aleman Dakota Faqua Athena Palmer Kylie Young Eric Young Jonathan Lloyd Sage Scott Kara Lewis Grace Howard Amelia Huey AI Name(s): F.R.I Preferred means of contact: Discord or Phone. Age: Sixteen Timezone: Eastern When are you on Aurora?: When ever I have a chance, on the weekends I've spent a good eighteen hours? Assuming I'm not babysitting of course. Experience How long have you played SS13?: I haven't kept track, I'm going to guess a good eight to ten, maybe even eleven months? How long have you played on Aurora: A good eight to ten months? Maybe eleven..? Like I said, I haven't kept track. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I mean, I have intermediate knowledge I guess? I know enough to get by and then some, but I'm still learning every day. (Update) I'm much more familiar now, especially with the moderation tools and such. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Yes, from my previous trial modship on this server. I was denied due to IRL factors, and a couple of other issues, but I have been encouraged to reapply. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: No, unless job bans count. I was job banned by schev for three days because I unintentionally executed a antagonist on my first shift as captain. Since then, nothing. But I've never actually been banned when it comes to my account. Personality Why do you play SS13?: It's a way for me to express myself without being myself, if that makes sense. It's fun, interesting and just down right unique. There are tons of cool people on here, tons of new people to meet. I've made several friends already off of Aurora. Why do you play on Aurora?: I play it to have fun, I tend to meet new people each day and it's great. I also play it to escape some things out of the real world, which I'm sure some others do as well. I always learn something new when I'm playing, like recently I dabbled into the tcomms, it's really interesting. (Update) I also play because I cannot get enough of this server and the community, there are several people that I find to be..interesting, kind and caring, I've med several long lasting friends on Aurora, and I intend to make more. What do moderators do?: Moderators do exactly what their title means. They moderate players, help them learn and get adjusted to the game if they are new. Moderators hand out lower level punishments, helping players deal with issues, as well as handling the players who cause the issues. In general, on any game your moderators will be the go to people when it comes to issues, they are meant to assist you in any way they can, and if they cannot assist you for what ever reason, they are supposed to pass it on to someone above them. They are here to make this game fair and enjoyable for all, but the way they do it is their own choice. (Update) As a moderator you are meant to take the initiative and work diligently when assisting other players. You are meant to assist with multiple issues, and be able to guide players through the game. We're here as moderators to take the load off of the admins and assist them the best we can with the small things, so they can dedicate themselves to the larger things on the server. Whether that's bug fixes or working on updates, it has a wide variety. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Moderators on Aurora are meant to be guides, and mentors, as well as authority figures. They are here to help new players with any issues, as well as keep the peace we all know and love..despite the crazy wizards...and alb events. They are the first step in any problem, they have a responsibility to the players of the server, if you need help, a moderator will be there to assist you, if they cannot help you, they pass it on up the ranks of the staff team. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Honestly, I want the experience. I love this server, and the community. I've been shown nothing but kindness and encouragement on this server. I want Aurora to be my first moderator experience on SS13, I hope for it to be my only experience. I also want to give back to the staff team and the general community who have helped me through my dumb moments, whether it was learning how to move, or learning how to activate delta level. The staff team has always been patient with me, and have always given me the guidance that I have needed, and the discipline when it was necessary. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: My judgement and patience are certainly my strongest qualities. I don't judge people at all, but I do judge their actions, but even then I wait to hear their side of the story or why they did said actions before I judge them. I'm also very patient, I don't lose my temper easily at all. I can be getting screamed at by my drill instructor for my squad members screw up and I won't get bent out of shape over it. Another trait would be that I handle authority well, that kinda comes over time as I continue on my quest to join the armed forces. (Update) I used to believe my judgement was one of my strongest qualities, I found out that it wasn't as strong as I thought it was. One of the main reasons why I was denied previously was because of my judgement, I was to soft in most cases, just doing notes mainly, rarely handing out bans. This will change, I assure you. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I'd say decently well, my stress doesn't come from this game, it never has and I doubt it'll start coming from this game now, but if I was stressed out in general, I have people I can talk to that will calm me down. I don't get angry often, but when I do I tend to tell the person they are making me angry and ask them to give me a moment to cool down. If it's something in game that can be resolved by the staff team, I make it known in Ahelp. If it can't, I cryo and go take a fifteen to twenty minute break then I come back. But that is rare. And insults, I shrug them off unless its coming from someone close to me. (Update) Lately things have gotten a lot easier out of game, hence why I believe I am able to do this again, but this time make the moderation team. Anything Else You Want to Add: I did copy my old application because it's the same thing that I believe, but with longer play time and a couple of updates from my previous experience.
11. First, I'd like to thank you for clarifying how long I've been here, basically six months, four days off. Second, in all honesty, I'm human. I've made my mistakes on this server, when I first joined, I didn't read the rules in depth until a week or two in because I wasn't planning on sticking around, but the moment I actually wanted to stick around, I decided to read the rules and do my best to follow them perfectly.. Sometimes I will be in a situation on the server where I find myself thinking one thing is happening, when it's actually something else going on, which sometimes leads to me making a wrong choice thinking it was the right one and it turns out to be the worst possible choice. Now, if you could show me the entries, besides the three warnings and the Job ban, I could probably explain it, assuming I remember what happened. I've taken each comment from staff seriously, and I've applied them to how I play. As I play longer, I hope to bring these to a stop, I hope this satisfies your interest, please ask me to elaborate more if you are still interested.
12. I've played with this person extensively. They are level headed, funny and easy to talk with. They RP well, they're active and generous. I appreciate them as a player and a friend. They'd be a great mod if given the chance. +1

14. Hey, I play captain Young. I did order his immediate arrest, or atleast to get eyes on the Warden since the CE was yelling that he was being murdered by him. Then I arrived on scene, and basically realized what was happening OOCly, so, I took a moment to see how I could not make the round extended by having a cultist arrested right away, so I decided to take his side of the story, he had me convinced ICly, and kinda OOCly, but then I heard the CE's side and it was a giant mess. So I ordered CSI to do an investigation, now while this was happening, the CE was yelling about "cultists" and such, there was no previous evidence on the station that had been discovered of any kind of cult, at least not to my knowledge. None of the cult chat was used in common, no runes were really found till late game, it just continued to feel like an extended round honestly. So I don't see how you can get "CULTISTS!" out of a odd blood drawing on the floor, hell I could have been like "Oh man, someone just needs a psych evaluation." based off of the evidence that was already there aboard the station.
15. I've RPed with them before, I have always enjoyed it, I believe they can make a great white-list member. +1
16. Sweet. Thank you! I think I just need to go more in depth on a few of the questions.
17. Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. This is my first application, is there anything I can add to that would make it more appealing to you? Maybe go farther into depth?
18. a Head of Security has 10 years of experience in the field, he isn't some mall security manager, if Olivia has no idea how to deal with armed intruders then they're still too inexperienced to commandeer the ISD. That aside, your replies to my and other people's criticism is more than enough for me to +1 this app, though I still strongly recommend playing more in security before going as a full head of security, try to become interim HoS during eventful rounds, and get more experience with the management side of security. Security entered via the AI, they could've asked in the worse case scenario for the AI to open so they can go get geared up, even if it meant marooning the captain with the mercs, I understand that they wanted to back their captain up, but even when they stayed they could neither protect you nor escape. now I understand this is mostly your fault*, but security should also consider the situation and if command is taking them on a suicide mission, disengage and reassess the situation. The reason I partially blame Olivia is because they were a warden, not an officer. their duties revolve around the brig, prisoners and weapon hand out, and responding to issues is secondary, and this case they should've paid more attention to their role and how their death could mean security can't access the weapons, duties which a HoS should worry about too. a HoS that arms themselves and rush into an incident and die while their officers are ill equiped/lacking instructions is bad. you should be prepared for this before taking on the job. *: Tl;Dr: +1 but I suggest playing more as an interim HoS as both you and Olivia are still too inexperienced with security to lead it. I've been trying to get HoS in, but each time I ask, the HoP usually on duty gives me the "We don't need one" and such. But I will do my best to continue! I appreciate the +1, I'll certainly work harder on my Security skills. Much appreciated.
19. For the mercs, Olivia had never handled something like this. In fact if you were around to see the RP prior with Kalren, she was asking advice on what to do about the possible intruders, prior to that point in time on the bridge. She was on the bridge expecting to meet with the captain ((if i remember correctly)). She didn't expect to meet people stealing light bulbs, and all that. Infact I was mid text of saying "Alright head back to security" to everyone before the captain opened fire and all that. I did not plan to stay there, and we couldn't retreat because no one had command access besides the captain. But I do appreciate your feedback, I will certainly try to improve on this. Appreciate it! DatBerry
20. It fits Kalrens background, he's a great character. He has a miitary background and is very proud of it. As all vets should be, if he wishes to wear his Dress uniform while visiting the station, let em. It'd improve his characters RP by a bunch. +1
21. I'll keep this in mind, the passive ling was an experiment that I cleared with staff. Never doing that again, it was dumb. Captains ID thing was when I was newer, stopped doing it. I actually got input on that before and that's why I stopped. I appreciate your criticism and I will certainly improve on this. Thank you!
