  1. I aim my rifle at the boy, quietly whispering to him in my garbled buzzard speak, 'Don't move, don't talk, now get on the ground now.'
  2. Honestly, what's the problem here? This just a player saying, 'Hey guys this a thing in the lore and it looks cool, let's do it a bit more!'. Unless it was straight up un-ironic furry bashing I don't see a problem here.
  3. I grab the wrist-mounted crossbow, and cover the body with a blanket, before creeping up the spiral stairs.

    Mary Sue test.

Copy pasta from the most accurate source online; urban dictionary.
  5. I creep up the spiral stairs, leaving the helmet behind as I don't want no clanky ass helmet that's covering my vision in a moment like this,
  6. DEAAAACON WHYYYY>! D; I miss you homie. And yes, I saved his ass. He was the only chance for my character to have redemption.
  7. I pluck the feathers from my bandoleer, and examine my surroundings for any cover, or a path I can use to sneak past the three women.
  8. Eh, if the Head of Security gave the okay that's totally cool man. Thanks for clearing that up.
  9. I was fairly sure the conflict was still ongoing as I left, as far as I can remember. And, apologies about the lack of communication, at the time I was kind of in the zone. There really isn't anything I can say to defend it or justify it. Not communicating is a bad move in general. Well, it was a cozy spot. I had requested reinforcements and there was a cache of weapons nearby. I'd realized the lasers didn't work against the console and looking back on it, I should have withdrawn. I fully understand that yes, regardless of my justifications and reasoning behind my actions, the result is still the same as any rambo or gun-happy player. I ended the round and any potential RP for antagonists. I will try to avoid this behavior in the future.
  10. Hey'a. I guess I'm just going to put my two cents in. You can't really change the horrible Security. We've always had Security being held together by a thirty percent who know what they're doing. You can't really stop the rest from being incompetent. Most of the time they're new, un-robust, or just aren't interested enough in the game. Sometimes you'll get a dream team, sometimes you'll get a terrible team. You can't really change that, lots of people have tried and failed. Another point is regarding an incident with Botany. While you certainly were justified, in the matter. If the Captain tells you to stop trying to detain someone over a minor crime like that, don't try to detain both of them. The Captain is the executive authority on-station and unless he's pushing something extreme or ridiculous you can't just go, 'I am teh leawh'. Just file an incident report, it's not that big of a deal. Secondly, try not to wave detainment around. People will appreciate a reasonable dude a lot more than a hardass. It's a trope that's been done before, and it's hard to pull off well without looking like a dick (I don't do it particularly well myself). As an Officer, and a Head of Staff, think of yourself more as a peace keeper than a law enforcer. Walk to the guy, explain to him, 'Hey bro, I see you've been replacing your floor tiles. That's breaking some regulations, but it's not that big of a deal. So, you're going to get some written permission, and don't do this again, alright sport? Yeah.". But, besides that a +1, you go buddy.
  11. I scream at the buzzard, gesturing to the right, in an attempt to scare him off.
  12. I emit a powerful warcry, and begin screaming and shouting at the man in an attempt to subdue him, or communicate with him in some primal level.

    Merc "Op" Voting

We already have clowns, they were just renamed to Tajara. But clown marines would be perfect for a dead hour nuke. It gives the ops a chance to do something interesting without just killing people.

  15. Sorry about the late reply, I've been feeling pretty bad with some IRL sickness. I caught on quick, we were trying to convince her to stay there. Welp, it failed, I had a goal and rather than abandoning it I moved forward. While certainly abrupt the escalation was necessary at that point if I had wanted to continue with my plan. I'm not particularly fond of you trying to shift the focus away from the center of the complaint. Regardless of your Character being a Security Officer, Engineer and Roboticist, it doesn't particularly rub me the right way that you're implementing that training or skill into your non-security shifts. I understand, yeah some of us want to play multiple roles with the same character, but implementing that training is pretty bad. Let's cut to the main piece. You flashed an antagonist, okay not too terrible. I can still recover from that and scrounge up something interesting. But you had insisted on A. Stripping me of my weapons B. Locking me into Maintenance. Regardless of any past impression you might have had of my character, that is blatant hamstringing. If your character is Security off-duty, it does not justify smashing antags because they hurt your friend.
  16. I'm feeling very tired, and something happened irl that needs to be attended, expect a reply in one to two days.
  17. Time to whip out some pictures. Alright, allow me to explain this to you. I responded to that situation because I had the element of surprise. You can't play dirty and expect a trained, hyped up operative to not do the same. I ran in, grabbed my gear and tried to get out. You were directly in their line of fire, if I wanted to grab that bag that was my best chance. It wasn't a spur of a moment decision, it was calculated and well thought out. I can grab my bag from Ash Callahan. You and the other officer were blocking the doorway, meaning hey, this is a safe zone. As far as I know, none of them have lethals. What did you expect me to do, to walk in and smile and say, 'Hey you guys can I have all my guns back?'. You have to give something for a return, and so far you've shown me that you weren't interested at all in cooperating with me, why should I give you a second chance, at that point in time? Regardless, I'm not going to kill you, or try at all. It wouldn't be necessary unless you tried chasing me, which you did. At this point, you had brought the conflict, the items of interest to Security, to a hotspot with bad geography. So I retreated, it was entirely your fault you got gunned down. At this point I wasn't even trying to escalate conflict, I was attempting to flee from a crazy Tajara roboticist with a flash. I had fired an entire laser magazine into you, and you kept chasing me. I had to fire four rounds in addition. This was you trying to be the hero plain out simple. Ash, had tried to follow me later, with a taser in hand, which I responded with a pair of caps to the skull. Let's circle back to the first incident, since that's the real centerpoint of the complaint, it was the action that spoiled the round. So, my attempts to lure my prey (Hypatia) into a trap has failed. Well, shit. I go in for the forceful approach, I've made it clear by now I'm not some run-of-the-mill baldie griffer. I used me's, I RP'd and I tried going the path of least resistance instead of just plain out frying Hypatia. I fire at her leg 'till it blows, off, gun ready to be fired off into this bystander as I try to secure my target. I begin typing to provide a warning an- bam! A flash, followed by being stripped naked and shoved into maintenance. Regardless of you being a Security Officer off-duty. It's not really that fun for anyone. I hadn't killed her even, just went for the leg. Either to protect your friend, or just out of wanting to be a plain out hero, you purposefully escalated conflict and caused multiple unnecessary deaths indirectly. You prevented me from doing some genuinely fun RP, or at least attempting to.
  18. BYOND Key: Hackie Mhan Player Byond Key: Kazkin Staff involved: Tablespoon Reason for complaint: Summary: Kazkin charged at me with a flash twice, while I was equipped with lethals. And had attempted to detain me, resulting in multiple unnecessary deaths. Thus crushing any antagonist plans thereafter. Approximate Date/Time: (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) 7:00 - 8:30 PM.

    Future Slang!

Padre - Slang term to identify a man of faith.
  20. I'd thought that was resolved with administration? I believed either Tainaava or Tenenza attended. I believe three points were addressed at the time. 1) I was an Officer, we received reports of Nuke Ops moving in on the bridge. We managed to take one of them captured, and removed most of their gear and laid them down on the floor. The Ops were moving in on the Captain's Office, and I retreated to flank the Nuke Ops, and equipped a carbine along with a hardsuit and jetpack. As you can see in this crudely drawn map, my goal is to flank the Nuke Ops and support my boys, and hopefully deter the raiders. Red being doors, blue being windows, green being me, and red being raiders. I've got help intent on, and I immediately switch placed with the Nuke Ops, leaving me sandwiched, by now they're probably going to gun me down with all the security gear I've got on, seeing as they've proved very to have no interest in communication so far. I lethal NanoToxin to the left in an attempt to return back into friendly territory. As you can see by the image below, I am as of the moment out of Raider #2's line of fire, leaving me in an excellent position to drag Raider #1 back in, request backup and provide medical attention to the severely wounded Nuke Ops. 2) This was the raid on the Nuke Ops shuttle. I believe that my actions at the time for the most part made sense and are justified. As of the moment, I'm positioned above the ship, out of range and I have vision with my binoculars. I can see multiple terminals, a plasma bomb and a trio of nuke operatives. I'm keeping in close touch with my superior sending in PDA messages, and providing an image of the situation. I receive the order to eliminate the piloting console and I breach in through the window. With the structure of the Nuke Ops shuttle, I exert strong power over my opponents. With the amount of cover located in the cockpit of the ship, I can press my advantage and fire down the lane with little to no penalties, while any rushes from them, or gunfire is extremely limited. As they attempt to charge me, I respond by gunning them down, and returning to cover. If the nuke ops had attempted to flank me, I could run away. Their stockpile of weaponry, coincidentally is very close to me, and I can severely wound them if they try to move forward. I stay in the cockpit deterring any form of combat and awaiting support, providing directions to my team and suppressing the Nuke Ops. After a while, I move into the stockpile and grab weaponry, leading to point three. Second image with areas that can't be fired on. 3) Using the radio, I believe is a genuine issue and I apologize for my mistake. It was in the middle of conflict, and I had waited for reinforcements. So I rushed to the stockpile, took as much weaponry, satchels and equipment I could and ran back quickly. I spawned a C-4, planted it and flew away. I at the time hadn't known there was a radio, and didn't put any particular thought on the use of the radio. I sincerely apologize for doing this, and I'll make it a note to avoid repeating this action. While certainly a whole messy situation, I believe point two and one are justified now that I can shed some clarity on the mindset and the circumstances that led to this. I believe this situation was dealt with by administration. I did not see through to the end to the round and logged off as it was nearly 12:00 where I live. Hopefully I can learn from my mistakes, and move on learning another lesson and continue improving my behavior. I think with every round or ban you can move on salty and bitter, or just reflect and decide what you can do to improve.

    Diversity

I'm pretty sure race doesn't really mean much. It's not really my first thought when making a character. I chose to make a vaguely Mediterranean character because in the lore globalization pretty much means only 'em uplifts are too different from most people as a majority.

  23. BYOND Key: Hackie Mhan Total Ban Length: Permanent Ban from Security Roles Banning staff member's Key: I don't particularly know who placed the ban. Reason of Ban: I don't know why I was banned. Reason for Appeal: I'm going to start off with why I think I should be unbanned. I enjoy Security as a department, it allows me to exert tenacity over the round and directly affect the situation along with the outcome, and to provide players avenues for interesting situations. I enjoy communicating with Prisoners and making their experience less miserable, the joy of being outsmarted and outsmarting others. When people genuinely do an interesting murder, do something fun and interactive are the experiences I try comb for, and encourage. I try to mentor new players, cadets especially if they're willing. I prefer to shrug off most circumstances where I've been 'ganked' or killed, and try to help the perpetrator improve in the future. While things in real life have been very hectic recently, I'm still trying my best to be a positive impact on the game. Secondly, I'm not sure why I was banned. I can't recall any circumstance with administration that hadn't ended with the situation being resolved or just complete inactivity on the administration side. I'm hoping whoever placed the ban can inform me of what I had done wrong.
