  1. http://i.imgur.com/9D0IQsB.png Ambassadors to Hold Meeting on Moghes for First Time Editors note: Translated to Basic. After much deliberation, the location of the upcoming Ambassadorial Meet has been agreed upon by both parties. Nralakk Federation Representative Kautlois Hiluo-Q'luatop has insisted upon holding the meeting in the Hegemony capital. Despite its status as capital of the Izweski Nation, Skalamar has never before been the meeting place of any diplomatic endeavor including delegates of species other than Unathi. Previous meetings between Lord Diplomat to Nralakk IV Zakaius Izweski and the Representative have been held exclusively on the neighboring planet of Ourea in the city of New Skalamar. This meeting also marks the first time these two will confer without the Human Representatives of the former Ourean government or current Ourean Overlord Tarkart Yiztek present. When prompted for comment, Representative Hiluo-Q'luatop offered only blunt* responses. "Relations between the Hegemony and Nralakk Federation are taking great strides." "[Conducting a meeting in] the capital city of Skalamar shows a level of acceptance, trust and [mutual] respect between both parties." No official agenda for the meeting has been released, but the momentous significance of the occasion has rumors circulating. *Translator's note: The phrase could also be translated as "unimaginative" or "dry" given its context in Skrellian language.
  2. The following statement quickly becomes a common sight across screens and displays throughout the Tau Ceti system shortly after the first day of voting: Greetings, fellow proud citizens of the Republic of Biesel! Due to a minor error in our calculation system, a significant number of votes must be redacted and recounted. In order to ensure that your vote is counted, eligible voters are encouraged to schedule a second trip to one of your many conveniently located voting stations. NanoTrasen and its subsidiaries would like to apologize for any inconvenience this error may have caused any voters and wish all residents of The Federal Republic of Biesel and the Tau Ceti System a happy voting season.
  3. Thesir seems to make good characters with solid personalities. From interacting with Morgan and Sebastion, I can say with confidence that Thesir can definitely handle the character aspect of a Head of Staff whitelist. Thesir OOCly is almost "too nice" but to a point that's not off-putting. He genuinely seems to be here to have a good time and contribute positively to the community. I'm more than happy with the attitude of seeing RP as a "storytelling exercise" as that's somewhat similar to how I myself see it. The only thing that Thesir may have trouble with is getting that potential "mean" angle across IC as it goes against the nature of his old characters. Thesir, you can handle this whitelist and I don't see anything that could keep you from getting it. Your backstory is well written and seems to be a believable enough story for how a member of command would come to be in this universe. Now for the critical questions you ought to think of before playing this character. Does Gerard know Morgan Renalt? Is Morgan his prized son? Is their shared surname a coincidence? It's not impossible for family members to work in the same company, but it's a statistic to keep in mind. Some people, myself included, have had characters who were related. Sometimes it works out and adds a little something to the character. Sometimes not so much. If Gerard goes with the surname Renalt, chances are someone will eventually ask about a connection. Just be sure you have something ready when that happens. "Yes, of course!" or "Who's that?" Either way works fine. This application has my support. +1.
  4. Broadcast 258 Rogue Admiral: A Fighter for Freedom? It's finally happened, Tau Ceti! Someone's finally standing up to the bigwigs in Unity Station, and guess who it is? Their own Admiral! That's right, Admiral David Gray has told the people who hold his leash that he's had enough. He was one of the highest authorities of Sol and that lingering promise of violence they have the nerve to call a navy. He knew the ins and outs of that wolf's den for years, and now he's finally erasing some of those black marks the Alliance likes to use to obscure our views and hide the truth. Not only is he bringing that paperwork to our doorstep, but he's brought himself along with it! That's right, my fellow Bieselittes! Rogue Admiral Gray may be trapped in a place they dare to call "Unity", but the Embassy he's holed up in is as good as being on our soil. We need to take the information this Great Defector's given us and realize a few simple facts. First of all, the Sol Alliance is no more full of unity than their capital. If an Admiral of the dreaded Alliance Navy is willing to fight the good fight for freedom everywhere, you can bet that they already have a few more "Rogues" in power. Next thing to know is that Sol can not keep control of their own interests. The Sol Alliance would have you think its armada is vast enough to bully anyone they think they own into a state of dependency. It's canons threatening enough to bend anyone to their will... That's what the people of Sol would like you to think, but recent history has proven it anything but true. Wake up, Biesel! Our Republic alone is proof that any "property of Sol" can split away. And what about the ships they had in Tajara space? Where are they now? What about Unathi space? That's right, Cetians, they're back where they belong. Back in their own damn space. The zealous activists of Admohai and the headstrong tactics of the Hegemony have managed to convince Mr. Chater that his people can't push their systems around anymore. Sol is retracting its hungry hands back to their own systems. The Unathi people now have room to grow. The Tajara now how space to breathe. The Jargon Federation works hand in hand with the Sol Alliance, ensuring that each party is close enough to stick a knife in the other's back if need be. And the Vaurca? They're far enough from our squabbles to avoid Sol Oppression... for the moment. The Sol Alliance want us to think it can just take anything it wants, but that's not the case. We've proven that any of their "interests" can fight them off provided they're loud enough to be heard and determined enough to keep fighting. If any of you proud citizens find yourself in Unity Station, make sure to drop by our Embassy and let show a little support for our newest immigrant. Something tells me Admiral Gray is going to be with us for a long, long time. So what parting words do I have for you today, Tau Ceti? Stay loud. Stay determined. This broadcast was recorded 2.21.2458 in Republic of Biesel space. Opinions stated in this broadcast are not necessarily those of broadcast sponsors.
  5. I appreciate that you seem able to admit mistakes and seem to be fairly reasonable OOCly. However, I can not approve of this application at this time. I'm sure that if you spend some more time as human characters, you can improve over time and have some excellent IC interactions that will make others inclined to support your future apps. The way is looks now, you're not quite ready for an race whitelist yet. You seem to take feedback well, and I'm certain you'll get there. Best of luck, SirXenomorph. Application Denied.
  6. This thread makes me feel so conflicted. On one hand, I want to see good advice and watch the entire station grow as writers and as people. On the other hand, I want more step by step instructions that make me laugh. Send help.
  7. Icuris is more than competent. His primary character is one of the security members that you see on the manifest and think "oh, thank god." OOCly, he's a pleasant individual. No toxins warning here. I love the idea behind your Servo and look forward to seeing him around the station. This post may be relatively bare-bones, but that's because there's simply not much more to say. Good player, good RP, good design. Enjoy your foray into the world of metallic service and be sure to send a us post-card from self-aware avenue. +1.
  8. As I remember from old feedback posts, your opinions are valid. Not too nice to be annoying. Not too rude to put anyone off. You know when to hold 'em and fold 'em. But do you know when to walk away or, god forbid, when to run? On that note, I can't vividly remember any interaction with your characters. I'm basing much of my judgement on your application and OOC personality. I do remember a few of your character names, but as I said, it's all a blur. Your character looks to be an Unathi who fits into the lore and fits into the typical roles of an Unathi quite well. It doesn't seem to be lacking anything. I find your inclusion of his full records to be an interesting move. Adds a little to read and go off of. I believe Yinith fits into the universe quite well. Now to touch on your presentation. How you'll actually have the character act and behave. Ordinarily, I'm not reassured unless I can recall a few rounds of interaction, but your stunningly reasonable OOC persona inspires confidence. Something about it tells me you can handle this whitelist without going too far or abusing it. I think you'll do fine with this whitelist. Hopefully I'll end up bumping into another one of your characters again soon enough. Best of luck defending your honor. +1.
  9. Heads up, I'm opinionated and am known to give feedback. This is all just my opinion. All I want is for people to have a good idea of what they're getting into and think about their character designs. First off, the name. Har'Kan Veern'Saet. I know that we don't have steadfast naming conventions for Skrell, but this looks like a Tajara first name crossed with an Unathi surname. Just rubs me wrong. Not the end of the world, but there I felt it was worth mentioning. Next, there's very little substance to your actual character biography. There's barely more than a sentence about his life before work. This is just my preference, but I like characters who have something between their birthday and work. It gives a sense of "wholeness" to the character. Like they actually go home after work and think about their day. The corporate sabotage. It's somewhat possible in the universe, but I'm not sure how likely it is. Again, just preference. I really like your OOC attitude as it seems in this application. You seem willing to admit to mistakes and learn from them. All in all, I think if you spend some time working on building characters that have some depth and that you yourself enjoy, you'll go far. Still, I've got to lean on the side of caution and say that you should focus on human characters for some time. I feel like a little practice will go a long way and help you make a very well thought out Skrell character down the line. Just don't let yourself be discouraged. Make characters that you like and would enjoy seeing, and people will respond. If your attitude's as good as I think it is, I be you'll learn quite a bit. Best of luck in future rounds. -1.
  10. I am filled with emotional and philosophical conflict by this application. Allow me work out my feelings First off, I've interacted with two of your Unathi. Vimleel is a nice, sociable doctor with a habit of offering a toothy smile. I've had limited interaction, but he sees to be a good guy. I've not had enough interaction to say he's one of my favorites or least favorites, but he's noticeable. He's not bad, but I just haven't had the chance to see much of the substance behind him, if there is any. (And I feel like there is.) Now for the other guy. Thtithik Pakseech. Only times I've ever seen him, he's been moody. That may just be the character, and that's fine. However, he's made a few odd moves. He's an engineer, right? I've seen him take care of people as if he were a doctor. Scanning them, being insistent about their treatment, the works. He could just be a jerk, which is fine, but he has that smell like he's an alt-character. Like the player's not comfortable being helpless in medical situations. Like he's making the engineer a liiiittle bit too familiar with medicine and treatment. LR, you've asked for feedback and this is what I have to offer. Practice being "out of your element" for a while. Also tweak your background if you're not comfortable with how it reads. You mentioned you were tired when you made it. Make it something you can like looking back on. Be the best techno-ant you can be. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go tweak some characters and not turn in any new apps.
  11. While my only noteworthy interaction with Enzayne was during a single round, I feel I saw enough of Enzayne's play-style to mention it on this application. I've interacted with Enzayme's security/warden character Evelyn Strong during a near-deadhour round of Extended. Strong was adept at holding conversation, not afraid to interact with new characters, well thought out in terms of design, and not at all poorly executed. I can't quite say for certain that Enzayne will never make a character that I may have misgivings about, but I can definitely say that they have the potential to do great things with this whitelist. On paper, Mr. Quinn looks to be quite flawed. I'd normally be much more hesitant about approving of a character with "attitude issues", but interacting with Strong has left me feeling optimistic. Enzayne may very well be able to pull off a pissy-but-effective CE. Your wording of his attitude as "a lack of social skill" does wonders to make me feel confident in this character design. He's not an edgy, stick-it-to-the-man Engineer. He's a socially inept gear-jockey. However you handle this whitelist, I'm confident that you'll make it work for each command character you choose to play. You'll make good interactions for the crew around you. Best of luck. +1.
  12. Literally just walk up to some person and talk. Don't even need a plan. Just keep typing in-character.
  13. I feel attacked and personally offended by this event. I was forced to interact with other characters, cooperate with strangers, and develop my character in a way involving adversity. I was not given the chance to script any interactions or Metafriend any event characters. There was barely any time for ERP Check your privilege, pump.
  14. I can't recall interacting with any of Trapster's characters, so I'm just going to work off of this application itself. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion. I'm not essential to your application process and don't have any sway one way or the other. I just want to give feedback. OOC Sections: First Paragraph: Second Paragraph: The Crowd: Conclusion and Verdict:
  15. I can believe it. Terrence was one of the few Agents who actually acted like he was in Internal Affairs. He was strict. He would stick his nose into other people's business. He seemed to care a lot about how the station was running. He would interact with multiple characters each round and provide some sort of chance for people to RP. He did this consistently for quite some time. Terrence Frank was, and very well may still be, the best internal affairs agent to ever serve on the Aurora. It'd be nice to see more of him.
  16. Rectum played Haruspex. Sorry if I ruffle any feathers by saying this, but he was essentially the most interesting IPC for a long time. He seemed to be open to interacting with pretty much any character that approached him. He also may have been a slight inspiration for the legions of Roman IPC's we had and continue to see now and then. He was pretty cool. My guess is he wouldn't mind being mentioned. He hasn't threatened to delete his account or anything.
  17. Pretty fire imo.
  18. We can only hope that this vote, along with responsible RP and moderating, can help players to interact in interesting ways. If there is a focus on fixing problems as they come, it is quite possible that less "bad RP" will happen on either side. If people are willing to learn, we may see less poorly done or overly dramatic "hate RP." This would then mean that less Tajara would feel a need to act in defensive/offensive manners that make those who do "Bad Hate RP" feel justified.
  19. (Jackboot in regards to Tajara and Unathi previously in this thread) (Jackboot on Tajara previously in this thread)
  20. Bad memories. Overly aggressive. Bad reputation. Needlessly hostile. Prone to violence. Quick to avoid work. Did not appear to be a serious character. If you mean between Tajara, I do believe that they are broken up by race in their society. One race is viewed largely as nobles, one as workers, and so on. If you mean between humans and Tajara, there are different levels of profiling between the two groups. Distrust, caution, and other such themes are fairly evident between the Tajara as well as between different species. I hope that this is true and that people appreciate your RP. The only one of your characters that I have seen in action is Augotta. I encourage anyone who has had pleasant experiences RPing with your characters to speak well of you, but sadly I can not do the same. Continue striving to improve, but I can not approve of this application with what I have seen of your RP. -1.
  21. Someone from the lore team can correct me if I am wrong. He would never be allowed on a space station after impersonating a doctor and pretending to be part of "the company" (I assume you mean NT). Unless I have misread several pieces of lore, Earth is a planet. According to your story, he was never hired in the first place. He can not be "rehired". There is also still the apparent fact that he tried to impersonate a medical professional when he was 23. His performance in school would not make a company simply forget that he is a criminal who broke into their system and pretended to be a licensed medical professional. In fact, Jaden should probably be in prison or at least have served a serious amount of time behind bars. This character would likely not be hired by Nanotrasen for any occupation, let alone a Command position. I do not approve of this application. -1.
  22. I'm still very interested in this item. I would gladly accept a custom sprite similar to how Monkey suggested, but I will not hold my breath for it. If anyone has any comments, questions, hopes or dreams regarding this hat, do please share them with me. I would love for this item to happen and would likely move Chance back to the top of my character-priority-list if it became a reality. Please let me know what you think.

  25. This idea is awfully "special". You would be much better off retconning your character to the point that the miraculous feat of medical engineering/visitor from another land's gift/magical transformation/bluespace anomaly never happened. Other themes may prove equally special, but can occasionally be done rather well. It could be a good idea to avoid such things or use them in moderation in order to make sure your work does not suffer. As you said, this character has "been through a lot of changes " already. I don't think this thread is going to go in favor of the change. At this moment, approval of a sort of IPC to Organic Maneuver seems like wishful thinking to at least a few members of the community. Whatever the reason for this sudden change in your character, the transformation does not quite fit in with the universe or the community.
