BYOND Key: Jamini Player Byond Key: 1138 Staff involved: Junlata, at least two nuke teams, the entire station Reason for complaint: Multiple, ridiculously lethal, powergamey alpha-strikes as nukeop. Essentially I have seen two nuke teams, fairly obviously led by Junlata perform a massively ganky alpha-strike on the entire station in nuke. Performing the following actions pretty much each time. 1. Breach and loot/destroy the armory in force. 2. Destroy cargo 3. Bumrush the bridge with the nuke in tow. 4. Immediately shoot down anyone in their path. Multiple instances of taking the heads of security officers to prevent cloning. 5. Seal off the bridge, force the AI core open. Destroy the AI. 6. Attempt to attack medical or kill anyone else in their path when the ERT is almost inevitably called. 7. Get mowed down by the multiple players they ganked who respawned as ERT. Now, I'm fine with folks dying and stuff. But this level of ridiculous balls-to-the-wall violence is excessive even for me. Even in nuke on should expect a little restraint on the side of the ops. Intentionally alpha-striking and outright murdering security officers is just kind of shitty and powergamey. It's not interesting. In the case of the round yesterday, one of Delta's operatives even was waving a transfer bomb around the research outpost where multiple unarmed civilians had fled to avoid the fighting. I've personally seen these teams, under Junlata, outright open fire on a team of engineers who had no idea they were even there until guns were fired. As much as one can say "It's nuke", and "It's not just delta"... this sort of thing? Do we really want it? The point of antags is to make an interesting round. Not immediately set out to murder half the fucking crew. Approximate Date/Time: 5/12/2015, 5:00pm 5/11/2015, primetime round

Good ERT will not be ignored, like they are currently Bad ERT will get adminslapped for abusing their authority. Win-win

That would make blood boil less lethal overall. Perhaps decent. I'd still like a bit of a wind-up (which you didn't remove) and removal of the 5% chance of instagib.

I say we do something radical! Let's remove the detective entirely from security, Like he was in the old days, and move him over to the civilian side of things. Essentially, make him more of a private investigator under the domain of the HOP and Captain. (While we are at it. Axe the CSI role entirely and move their equipment over to the no-longer-security detective. Hell, if we want two slots with different alt-titles that would be great!) Honestly. Security isn't intended to be hunting antagonists. They are not policemen, they are private security (and sometimes a private military). Their job is to maintain order and ensure regulations are followed. Human resources (IAA and Detective) are really the people on-station who should be investigating if people are doing OTHER things that the company might not like (but are still legal). Let's give the civilian sector more stationwide push and teeth, and move security back to a responder-style role.

The issue is simple. Heads of staff are whitelisted, often very experienced players, with a vested interest in keeping the round going/interesting for all involved. ERT staff are not-whitelisted, often those who have died in the round or not joined in the round, with a vested interest in fighting shit with their overpowered guns and a boner for complete control over the station. Who would you prefer to have command? DO/CMDR > CAP > Lt.TPR > HEAD > TPR > STAFF > ASSISTANTS > SYNTHS > PRISONERS Please and thank you.

Taking the hand teleporter without permission is basically asking command to come down hard on your ass. We /do/ use that, you know.

Really gonna disagree. Security is quite often full to capacity. Adding more slots to sec in any way will just saturate an over-saturated department even more.

I'm fine with the damage on it, myself. It's not an easy rune to use by any means. If anything, I'd suggest a simple short delay with a warning included. Something along the lines of... bloodboil() //cultists need at least one DANGEROUS rune. Even if they're all stealthy. /* var/list/mob/living/carbon/cultists = new for(var/datum/mind/H in ticker.mode.cult) if (istype(H.current,/mob/living/carbon)) cultists+=H.current */ var/culcount = 0 //also, wording for it is old wording for obscure rune, which is now hide-see-blood. // var/list/cultboil = list(cultists-usr) //and for this words are destroy-see-blood. for(var/mob/living/carbon/C in orange(1,src)) if(iscultist(C) && !C.stat) culcount++ if(culcount>=3) for(var/mob/living/carbon/M in viewers(usr)) M << "\red The air around you grows hot!" wait(50) //I believe this should be about five seconds? More than long enough to BOOK IT if(iscultist(M)) continue var/obj/item/weapon/nullrod/N = locate() in M if(N) continue if(M in viewers(usr)) M.take_overall_damage(51,51) M << "\red Your blood boils!" else M << "\red You feel a blast of heat at your back! /*if(prob(5)) * spawn(5) * M.gib() */ //This is terrible. Kill this bit of code with fire. for(var/obj/effect/rune/R in view(src)) if(prob(10)) explosion(R.loc, -1, 0, 1, 5) for(var/mob/living/carbon/human/C in orange(1,src)) if(iscultist(C) && !C.stat) C.say("Dedo ol[pick("'","`")]btoh!") C.take_overall_damage(15, 0) del(src) else return fizzle() return Also, get rid of that fucking gib chance. 5% chance of ranged unavoidable permadeath for a rune is shit. Utter shite.

The flow of the text needs work. But it was enjoyable.

Since I've been playing him a bit more recently: Omnir Al-Nasser anyone?

This is what I do. People say I'm good at it, so I must be doing something right!

Fixed for you Also! Mauvebeard's Zoo

Two hours. The first hour was spent getting the solars up and installing the two solar packs to ensure the station had power while I did it. We ran from the SM for another hour or two before transfer.
-
B-but, Conservan is much, much more weighty and guaranteed to work! (Anything thrown into it would nudge it, then evaporate. Technically. Though we'd risk a heat spike)
-
Getting the SM into the chute would be tricky though. The only way I can think to pull it off is to throw Conservan into it to nudge it in!
-
Well considering we can't construct mass drivers. That's sadly a necessity. I suppose next time I'll include a disposal inlet to vent it out. But eh... I had fun. The core does have an emergency vent for the outlet line though. Yup! It was powering the station too! Had a steady 990kw going out. 100kw required for the coolers, giving us 890kw or so for power. Plus solars were up and upgraded. I uh, realized the folly of not walling those in when I went outside to check the wires under the tanks. Took 90 rads and had to get cryo from Tina.
-
Many thanks to the two medical borgs, K-120 and Chirurg, for helping with it, and Tainavaa for fixing my irradiated ass up twice.

Khayyam is 460 with ERP, 260 without. Omnir is 290 before the sex portion. 755 after.

Edit2: I adore getting into the mind of Haruspex. That's bloody awesome. http://writer.inklestudios.com/stories/q68f >Still in progress/just starting. Edit: First small section done. I have no idea how long this will end up, but I'm having fun.

Regarding that uh... debate. I was on the "Let us move hardsuits around" side. Since then, as a regular EMT player who pretty routinely takes a suit, I'm actually agreeing that keeping them in EVA is better. As long as I can continue to configure one (for species) and put it together for use, I've really stopped caring about moving them out of EVA. If anything, I've found that the admin IC arguments make more sense rather than less. Especially skull's comment of "Sometimes you are supposed to have a challenge in getting to equipment you might need."

People who intentionally misread and misinterpret directives. At least in that specific case. The whole directive was made with the intent to make it easier to change how rooms look, not harder.

I wonder, is that number increasing at a rapid rate? Outside of the war on Ahdomai Taj as a whole have basically been uplifted with over a hundred or more years of human technology. While infrastructure takes time to build, it there's probably been some radical shifts. Especially in how food and medicine is grown/produced. Would average Tajara lifespan be longer for those that live in human territories (such as Little Ahdomai, and the ones that work for the station and live out of Tau Ceti/Mendell City) due to access to human medical facilities and health care?
