Thank you for responding! As for the questions 1. Probably a poor choice of words there. What I mean by what I said in the app is not to teach them their jobs and what to do but rather help his bound brethren into making a better image for the C'thur general. Even though the Bound have their objectives set it would be helpful for them to have an unbound around to make sure they are as positively seen by humans as possible. 2. As for the job Sirii would do...he would be a bartender in order to expose himself to as many aliens as possible and to show off the greatness of the hive by being a top-tier bartender and being as personable as possible..in his own bug way. 3. Seeing as his main prerogative is to build bonds and friendships with the non-Vaurca he saw the actions of those that helped the terrorist as detrimental to the relationship that the hive and Jargon have, therefore they are defective and no longer part of the hive in his eyes. -

BYOND Key: TealSeal14 Character Names: Henry Melpede, Ansiba Yizra, Rijiikirrr Al'Athalj, Weihun Sqluik Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (0,35,113) unbound of C'thur lineage. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes I have, quite a bit too. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. What makes them different from playing a Human: Firstly, biologically they are completely different from humans in every way. From birth to death to even what the breathe and eat. Speaking of biology their system of Ta, Za, Ka and bounds and unbounds is unlike any human faction. The VR afterlife and the whole focus on VR is a cool unique thing that is a fresh breath of air. Historically the lack of a home world and their great trek through the stars is new path that any human faction has gone through, not that I have seen anyway, that and their connection to the Liidra is a great conduit for story telling. That and their overall sad state of affairs that have them be subservient to one of the other races of the known galaxy is not something a human player would have to take into account while in-game. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Sirii'C'thur Please provide a short backstory for this character: If there is one thing any good C'thur can gleam from reading the histories; it is this one simple truth: To survive in this world one must reach out and make, if not friendships, then mutually beneficial agreements and alliances. In the eyes of the hive the Jargon Federation have been gracious hosts and helpful guides into this part of the galaxy, but we are not known as the "weavers" simply because we weaved one thread of friendship. Better yet let us make a tapestry of alliances and friendships to help our hive survive the aeons. Any good C'thur knows this and this is why you are here too. Born to the queen's lineage as an unbound you spent your life in VR learning what you needed to learn to be an effective supervisor to your bound brethren. Recent events have put our standing with Jargon in peril and while others deal with that relationship. We want you to go out and honour your namesake by weaving more alliances and bonds with the humans. The task before you is simple: do your job correctly and efficiently, help your bound brethren by guiding them, and bring the C'thur name prestige in Tau Ceti by being the best worker and subordinate you can be. You may not like being out into the real world and would prefer to return to the virtual paradise you once knew, you'll manage and learn. Why? Because you were ordered so, and that is all it takes. What do you like about this character? Well firstly I feel like a good starting character with Sirii that will hopefully be an interesting addition to the roster of colourful characters onboard the Aurora. Secondly I like that he's C'thur because it links him to another unique species, the Skrell. Overall I just think he's a very rounded and interesting character that I am already excited about playing. How would you rate your role-playing ability? ? Overall throughout my time playing on Aurora I can confidently say that I have improved immensely both creatively and mechanically. I feel that I can say that I havr made good characters that people have liked and enjoyed being around; something I hope to have with this guy...bug. -
[Accepted] TealPinipped Command app
TealPinniped replied to TealPinniped's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
As a response to the most recent ones: 1. The whole silently breaking the shutter was me going on autopilot there, during the whole debacle I was dealing with having to coordinate a very small and spread-out security team and making sure command wasn't being blown up by the artillery, Could I have handled it better? Most likely, yeah. And the taking the cyborg analyzer that was a mistake, I only meant to take a crowbar so I could respond to the library and make sure everything was safe. I even put the analyzer back once I realized the mistake back, so I am sorry about that whole deal. 2. While yeah I may occasionally go AFK, I don't think I do it excessively and every time I needed to be out for longer then a few minutes I always tried to tell everyone OOCly. Also which round and what decision do you refer to? @Lemei because I could give reasoning if needed. Lastly, I chose liaison first because I had an idea for it, but a new lore change came and kind of killed that. I did attempt to play the spare liaison a couple times but I always that during the rounds he was active, nobody worked for Idris. I did my best to be proactive be making pamphlets and offering recruitment deals; sadly nothing really happened with that, and yeah with the Hos thing it was sort of an accident, I made Rijiikirr as a sec character to test out my shiny new whitelist( speaking of which I had played plenty of sec characters before, officers and cadet. None of them however ever interested me to make them a recurring character however. The one's I put up for the app are the ones I thought people would recognize the most seeing they were recurring characters). And lastly for the lack of presence thing, frankly that must've been a quiet round, because I personally feel like I attempt to keep command informed as much as possible. Which brings me to my last point nicely. 3. Overall I'm flattered that you think I am a decent Hos. And in my defense, the lack of communication was mostly due to me dealing with a small department and a very intense ic argument in the library. Making sure my officers are charging the bartender fairly and making sure they kept to protocol distracted me a bit too. The fact the hivebots decided to show with only three members of sec didn't help either. And I feel like I did try to communicate such as telling engineering to prepare and bring chargers, the whole hivebot deal spread me and my forces really thin so it took a lot of me giving out very direct orders to my underlings and fighting the hivebots myself. -

TealPinipped tries to become a Tealcat

Thank you for answering so speedily! As for the questions: 1. Rijiikirr is a staunch follower of the Ma'ta'ke Gods like his father and his father's father before him. 2. As for the spreading of the pro-nobility belief. It'll be an uphill battle as both aliens and other Tajara are so fixated on the mistaken concept of Republicanism. He'll have to prove the benefits of the true order by showing himself to be a hard worker and by showing that even though some people may think Hierarchy is not conducive to a good life. Rijiikirr will be an example of someone thriving under nobility. 3. Lastly I intend to play a security officer seeing how the M'sai were sort of the warrior caste. Rijiikirr plans to continue with tradition. -
BYOND Key: TealSeal14 Character Names: Henry Melpede, Weihun Sqluik, Ansiba Yizra Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Around a nice Ivory color Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I have neglected many things in my life to read the lore section. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Well when I first came around to Aurora I was intrigued by this strange species, after reading a bit about their backstory I got even more interested after learning about what the heck is going on with these fine furred fellows. Also helps that I got an idea I think would be pretty interesting to try out. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Firstly, the a major difference between the Tajara and humanity is their recent history. Humanity has been dealing with relatively peaceful times. Tajara on the other hand just got out of a brutal civil war, and are now in a sort of cold war between three world powers. Three powers that all hate each other, Which has the added bonus of being a good catalyst for Roleplay on board the Aurora. Also being an underdog in galactic affairs is quite a different feel from being a human. Character Name: Rijiikirr Al'Athalj Please provide a short backstory for this character Coming from a line of M'sai that have been loyal to the nobility. From a young age he understood a simple truth: Some are born to rule and some are born to serve, and that is the proper way the Gods have created the world. Unfortunately some rebellious "republicans" in their envy and arrogance dare think that only they know what the Northerners want or need. And have come into his land swaggering and boasting about their revolution. The savage godless heathens attempted to sway our pious people into savagery and anarchy. Fortunately the Gods smiled down on the people of the north, and the true king returned to Kaltir and many proud Tajara, including Rijiikirr, happily joined up to restore the divinely ordained monarchy. The fight was hard but the Gods have proven that we are their chosen people, and with the grace of Mata'ke and the sacrifice of the common people like Rijiikir. Harmony and righteousness has been brought back to the north. After the war Rijiikirr was no longer the young soldier he once was, but he still passionately believed in the universal truth: "Some are born to serve and some are born to rule, and that is righteous." The war may have been over, but for Rijiikirr the ideological battle was still raging. Many heathen "republicans" have gone into human space to work and spread their lies to easily influenced alien ears. Rijiikir decided to move to Tau Ceti both to help show the galaxy the truth about the proper way a society should be run, at least that what he would like to claim. It doesn't hurt that the wages Nanotrasen offers would help him support his expansive family, but as they say: the rest is history. What do you like about this character? Well, the fact that there is many a proud "Hadiist" on board the Aurora it would be interesting to have an older pro-Nobility Tajara aboard would be a fun character to play. It'll also be cool to play a sort of "rural" character that has a very fixed mindset that could be a cool foil to the mostly progressive crew. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I think that I have proven that I am a competent roleplayer and I like to think that I have at least a couple times made interesting interactions and stories unfold.

Optikam is a good character and there was obviously a lot of thought put into this. It's a yes from me.
-
Well thank you for the response and on to the questions: 1. In my mind he was found injured and left for dead after the battle. Therefore he was definitely hostile and "cheated" if you will. Because like you said he didn't die for the glory Sk'akh. But he also learned something from his time there, he saw that these metal "abominations" weren't the evil soulless monsters he had been led to believe. In an ironic twist of fate he found himself questioning his hatred, being a religious Sinta he asked himself another important question " Maybe Sk'akh sent me here for a reason." In any case time passed by and to his shock he started agreeing with their doctrines, slowly definitely, but nonetheless he started entertaining ideas that would've got him killed back home. On the Au'takh's side; they were also getting used to this young Sinta, no longer was he a hostile prisoner of war to them but more a rude guest. Time passed on and Yizra became less and less the zealous crusader he always thought he was. The rest of it is, well, the present.

BYOND Key: TealSeal14 Character Names: Henry Melpede, George Lebedev, Weihun Sqluik Species you are applying to play: Au'takh Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character: The organic parts will be a dark green and all the metallic bits will be a grey colour. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes I have. I read the wiki quite a bit. Possibly to an unhealthy degree. Why do you wish to play this specific race: As a fan of Aurorastation and it's lore in general, I always felt very intrigued by not just the Unathi but by the Au'takh on specific. I'd like to experiment and try out new and fun experienced, something I can see being an Au'takh can and will give me. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Ooh boy where to start? Well firstly the entire idea of a techno-religious cult is something I haven't seen in human lore (Except maybe the techno-conglomerate). Another thing is that in the universe of Aurorastation humanity is a top dog in intergalactic affairs. Something the Au'takh are far from. It'll be a totally different experience to be part of a group whose entire way of life is on a razor's edge and who are hated even in their own home planet. Another big difference is their entire connection with Oss and how that can play out into a interesting and unique narrative. Character Name: Ansiba Yizra: Originally known as Yizra Sissila, Yunzi grew up in a deeply religious household so when the Au'takh came out of hiding and the Sinta world reacted by calling their levies he was one of the first to join up. Unfortunately for the armies of the "righteous" they were soundly defeated and Yizra was left for dead. Oss had a different plan in mind for our young Sinta though and due to either sheer luck, or as he would claim divine intervention, he was nursed back to health by the people he once saw as mortal enemies. After being forced to live with them and after learning that they saved his life he grew to love these strange people, and by the end of it decided to join them as a full fledged member. He soon learned the secrets of the "magic" that powered the Au'takh way of life, and became a paradigm. He was later sent over to work for Nanotrasen to as a roboticist to study Nanotrasen's advanced "magic." What do you like about this character? What I most like about him is how I can go with his personality and beliefs. On one hand he feels great shame that he once raised a sword against and tried to destroy the people that he now cherishes dearly, which in my mind would lead him to try and redeem himself of this shame by doing everything he can to protect his kin aboard the station. On the other hand another interesting concept comes up, due to his history as a faithful worshipper of Sk'akh he could also be a sort of bridge between the two worlds. A sign that he was once " Just like you, hateful, fearful, and ignorant." Which in my opinion could lead to some fun interactions with the crew. How would you rate your role-playing ability? While I'm far from the greatest roleplayer around I'd like to use Henry Melpede as an example of how I was able to create bonds and narratives with my fellow crew. Something I seek to do with Yizra too.
