Vision limitations also prevent you from seeing actions from people behind you. This is bad for two reasons: It will prevent people from behind able to do any text roleplay, instead making the attacker jump to "AH MAN I BETTER CLOSE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US AND KILL THIS IDIOT BEFORE HE TURNS HIS HEAD". It will make people who turn around and see people sneaking up on them instantly convinced they were about to get the shit powergamed out of them, and they'll jump to combat if you haven't already. It makes any and all roleplay with people out of your vision impossible, and in addition to that, it heavily hinders the chance you two will decide to roleplay once you discover one another. It's purely for combat and is actually detrimental towards roleplay, so I don't like the idea at all. If people are really going to use it, they're going to do so without ANY roleplay beforehand, instead trying to take advantage of their lack of visibility to the fullest. With my idea, it's merely a chance of dealing critical damage that we don't have.

While I'll hold my opinion on the design of the character and how it drives her, the main problem I have with Biabri is that I constantly see Periwinkle at the arrowhead of any station attack. They lead the charge on the AI chambers during malf, they steal the null rod from chaplains to become the large and in charge cultist hunter, or she is more than willing to kill officers who attempt to arrest the wizard if he deems the wizard is Amethyst's friend. Since I'd be fucking banned to shit if I did that, I wonder what's taken so long for Periwinkle to get a talking to about this. I've ahelped this stuff when I've seen it and I don't remember getting a response, so it's not that admins aren't noticing.

Currently we have this controversy in which the direction you face has no effect on gameplay. You can see people behind you, expect attacks on you, and even block them when you're facing away form them in complete darkness. It's silly. While we've had suggestions about this in the past before (usually being of the "make everything in that trapezoid of vision behind your tile invisible" variety), most of those suggestions are utterly bad. We should not at all introduce a janky system that makes it impossible for people to see behind them. Lifeweb tries it, and I must say, it's not something that belongs in ss13. However, adding a decreased chance for you to be able to block an attack, and an increased chance for the attack to hit the actual targeted limb - or maybe an increased chance to push - when attacking someone who's facing away from you is something I've seen done really well on other servers. It adds another layer to combat so that not only must you be continuously keeping your mouse ready for clicks, but you have to brace which direction they're coming at. While removing the ability to see these people is silly and doesn't offer anything in terms of RP, adding a more passive demand for people to face their combatants is simple and engaging.

he's a fucking cunt but he's realistic. he interprets the law in his own way. and not just in a way that's criminal, but more in a way that shows he is a character compelled with justice but with his own flaws on how it is carried out. I dont want to see him lose that with a loyalty implant, that is something that needs to be acknowledged in order for him to be commander... but if you want this, i greatly enjoy RP with you and support your application.

You're right there, almost as if I did with a reason. Not to just say "Haha but you see, I did it on purpose so your argument is invalid!" but I do genuinely enjoy getting a rise out those who frequent just HRP servers. I play a character named Shas'kala Sakaei. I will admit, he is hyped up to be pretty badass when it's needed, and a lot of things I do support that claim. I don't tend to get caught with my back turned by antags and if a guy draws a gun on me, I will usually still draw mine and get the first shot in. I get shit for that just as much you also are getting shit right now for not letting anyone else get the drop on you. It happens all the time, for all players trying to play a rough guy. We need to somehow defy the odds and let the stuttering nurse with a drill astonishingly kill us every once in a while. It's just fair. While I don't want to jeopardize my character's reputation by having a cultist or traitor keep me hostage and cut my hands and dick off and torture me while I scream and cry over the radio all round, since that's really not the reason I play that character, it is still important to lose some of the time. I can get in some cool last words over the radio, have a cool mexican standoff that I know I'm not walking away from, anything that ensures I don't compromise character but still don't compromise everyone else's fun. Powergaming is only fun for you, and it's healthy to let yourself lose. And if you think your character is just too badass to lose to anyone, just make another character and alternate every now and then! That's what I want to do when there's cult, I join as a weak-willed character who would more easily submit to Nar-sie than my warden who will just end up spamming the resist button until he dies because I can't envision him being a brainwashed cultist. I've witnessed some incidents of Yacobpo being slimey in-game, but my actual problem is how he acts OOCly when it does not go his way. He joined as some kind of wizard and whined "Wow I thought this was heavy RP" when he got arrested forcefully or casting a spell that made flesh explode out of everyone and put a terrible painful screaming noise in our ears. He repeatedly demanded we negotiate better in LOOC and I think it finally took affect. He was let go to talk to the Captain. When in there he handed offered everyone in the room a book. The Captain accepted and he told her to read it. Everyone knows reading wizard books fucking blows you up, and the Captain opened it, and she was near instantly husked from all the damage and flames it set on her. I killed him for this, brutally. Also accidentally, I kept him pretty hurt and accidentally took it overboard by slamming him into a wall that executed him on the spot. Either way he was extremely rude again in LOOC, calling us fuckerinos and that he was TOTALLY AHELPING. Imo the guy needs to learn how to lose, because all I see from him ICly and OOCly is this deadset attitude on dominating everything in the round.

He went into processing himself, took my PDA, backpack, and all belongings, and entered my sentence himself instead of any officers. I heard him give me three charges, but he didn't speak to me once. The entire time I was asking him to explain my sentence, and he ignored me in plain view. Then he told the officer to let him out, and he dragged me to a cell without answering any of my questions, including what my charges were. Then he cuffed me to a bed in a cell, and added my sentence, and left. I asked repeatedly what my charges were over the radios and in person as they walked by, and got no answers. Stover came back and told, finally, but my sentence was well over ten minutes and I was not given communal access or any formal processing despite there being numerous officers, a warden (I believe), and an HOS. The entire time I asked the HOS to explain why I was in a cell and not interrogated at all, and furthermore why I was left cuffed to a bed. They ignored me every time, and my sentence was finally up. I tried to get the HOS' attention to ask for my things back but they ignored me or had an officer tell me to be quiet. I finally left without any of my belongings returned to me. Actions taken: I was ignored by everyone I tried to call to help me, despite repeatedly asking the HOS, HOP, and any of the sec personnel available including Stover himself to explain my sentence. Only Stover answered me, and it was three charges with no explanation for why I had them. I don't even remember what they were but they were ridiculous and it was clear he was tacking on as many as he could. it is not chevs fault, vaurca fucking suck no matter what. they are bugs with robot mechanics and part of the requirement of the race is having 0 personal flair to your characters. even borg players cant do that. thats just my two cents
